HP connection manager: Fatal Error, HP Connection Manager Service has stopped responding.

Hey there,

I have a very big problem with HP Connection Manager 4 on several Windows 7 laptops. The program is installed on about 250 laptop computers and some of them drive me crazy. Everything was fine until some point (I'm not quite sure, that could be after the installation of SP1, Win7), the connection manager has decided to stop working on some machines. Whenever I try to start it, it takes a long time to load until the following message is displayed:

"HPConnectionManager.exe - fatal error '.

HP Connection Manager service has stopped responding. Quit and restart the application.

A fatal error occurred, check the HP connection manager in the event viewer for more details.

Recovery of the factor of COM class for the component with CLSID {24DB46C8-C842-4E91-9AC4-8A9525A5551D} failed due to the following error 80080005. »

I tried the following on one of these books:

-Start the service manually: "Error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly."

-Msconfig: Removed any connection associated with Autostart Manager

-Reinstall the HP connection manager

-Repair HP Connection Manager

-Reinstall .NET 3.5

-Changed some regkeys

-Install Microsoft Hotfix KB2519740 which is part of the system essential updates for Microsoft Windows 7 (that I can't download because there is a server error)

More information:

-(pour la plupart) HP Probook 6550 b

-Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit, SP1 (English and German MUI)

-HP 4.1.22.1 Connection Manager

The only thing that really works is to reinstall the laptop with the image with which we install all of them. HP connection manager is installed as a software later so I don't understand why a reinstall is successful.

I'm really tired of this problem, and I have a few unhappy customers on my back, so if you have any suggestions for me, please help.

Thanks in advance!

You could try this on one machine that shows the issue and see if it helps:

I could not find the same in the registry editor "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList".

I've traveled all your forums to get help, including http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215. even installed the "Microsoft Fixit" given on the same page, but it did not help. I even tried to restore my system to an earlier point.

In addition, when I tried to stop/restart the "user profile Service", the same mistake invited each time. but when I stopped/restarted the "user profile Service" after the removal of the user of the control Panel\User account account, the system didn't invite me with the error. and then; even after the service is restarted, and then creating a new user, I was unable to login with this user account.

now I find myself with a single administrator account to work with
    Please suggest

    Thank you in anticipation

    Hello

    Maybe this will help:

You can try to fix it with Safe Mode - repeatedly press F8 as you bootup. The ADMIN account in
Safe mode has no default password.

Some programs such as the updated Google (if you added the toolbar Google, Chrome or Google
Earth) has been known to cause this problem.

BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU USE THIS ONE:

DO NOT USE THE ACCOUNT HIDDEN ON A DAILY BASIS! If it corrrups you are TOAST.

How to enable or disable the real built-in Administrator account in Vista

Use the Admin account hidden to lower your user account APPLY / OK then wear again to
ADMIN. This allows clear of corruption. Do the same for other accounts if necessary after the
    above message.

You can use the hidden - administrator account to make another account as an ADMINISTRATOR with your same
password (or two with the same password) use a test or difficulty to another.

You can run the Admin account hidden from the prompt by if necessary.

If you cannot access your old account, you can still use an Admin to migrate to another (don't forget
always leave to an Admin who is not used except for testing and difficulty account).

  • I was doing a pop-up error box that says: Winrscmde has stopped working and was closed.

    Original title: Winrscmde error message

I was doing a pop-up error box that says: Winrscmde has stopped working and was closed.  A problem caused the application to stop working correctly windows will notify you if a solution is available.  How can I stop this, I don't know what is Winrscmde or what it does?

    Hello

    1. do you have this pop-up at starup?
2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?
Winrscmde errors are usually due to the corruption of registry files.
    Method 1:
Put the computer in a clean boot state, see if that helps.
How to solve the problem by running the clean boot in Windows Vista:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Once you have completed troubleshooting, perform the steps in the step 7: to reset the computer as usual.
Method 2: Run the checker system (SFC) scan files and check if it helps.
How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
    Method 3:
I suggest you make a system full scan just to be sure.
Here is a link that will give you information on how to perform a full scan of the system:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest anti-malware
definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

, Note 1: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
