HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service hung on startup service

I have a printer all-in-one HP 2750 and lately because an update has been added via the HP update my OS system hangs as follows:

Description
Service HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service hung on starting.

Signature of the problem
Problem event name: ServiceHang
Service name: hpqddsvc
Image name: hpqddsvc.dll
Image Version: 110.0.180.0
Type of service: 20
Startup type: 2
The system version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057

In some occasions, my PC won't start at all and I have to force a restart, if I uninstall the software, the problem goes away, but it's not a solution.

This may be due to Vista Service Pack 2 as I installed it, does anyone know if a fix has been released to fix the patch, or if I can stop the service to run.

Just tested again and all is well not reporting problems or Solutions appeared

    Hello

It is a service associated with HP printers. From what I can find, it has not really need start at Windows startup.
It is called "HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service"

To set this manual, or simply turn it off. Follow these steps.

Click on start and type > Services > press enter
Search for "HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service', defined and right click on disable or manual.

If you find that your HP printer does not work, uninstall and reinstall the HP software.

  • ePrint still listed as offline on laptop when you try to print work but printer D110a

I literally tried everything to resolve the question in the title. I'm fine with the networking. I'll run down the list of things that I tried to solve this problem, or the important factors that someone would need to know to help me:

    • It's my work, laptop which I use at home
    • I am running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional
    • All my wireless devices have Internet access
    • I can print on my printer D110a, but only via the ePrint option, which takes more time, because the packets must be sent via the Internet
    • I removed the D110a of devices and printers; HP ePrint is still listed as a separate device
    • The laptop has a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port
    • My router is a router dual-band running at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies
    • I connect using the 2.4 GHz frequency
    • The laptop has a built-in wireless card which can achieve up to 72Mbps access
    • I have a Wireless N adapter, which can connect to my 5 GHz band and up to a connection 300Mbps; I removed the adapter and ensured that I am connected to my 2.4 GHz band
    • Other printer drivers HP for printers that I use at work are installed on my laptop
    • I tried to uninstall and reinstall both complete drivers and base for my D110a, but during the installation, the wizard can find never the printer despite the fact that he obtains the valid IP address (192.168.1.x) private on my 255.255.255.0 network
    • I hid my 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz SSID, the D110a attached to the old, but my 2.4 GHz SSID is hidden is no longer and the D110a shows it is connected with a valid, private IP address that is not in use
    • The printer IP address statically has been highlighted, but I since changed to DHCP
    • I had the MAC address of the filtering enabled for network devices, but I've disabled since
    • I tried to remove the power of the modem, router and printer at the same time, wait a minute or two and then restore power to the modem, router and printer in turn before confirming that, once again, my wireless printer can connect to my network and rent a valid, private IP address that was not in use by another device on my network

I read that the HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service could confuse a laptop that is used between a job and a home network, if other HP printers are available on the work network unless the service is disabled when switching between networks. However, given that I'm trying to add the printer D110a from home, I imagine that this service must be enabled and started. He is currently in a State of the road with a manual startup type.

Oddly, although I can access the Internet from the 2.4 GHz or the 5 GHz band, I can't ping my gateway (192.168.1.1) when I'm logged in without wire, or I can ping some other devices on my network, although I see they are connected in the UI of my wireless router/gateway. The router is connected to a modem, but the router is configured as a DHCP server and assigns IP addresses to devices that are trying to connect to my home network. I think that my modem is on a different subnet, with an internal IP address of 192.168.0.1 not 192.168.1.1, which is the IP address of my router/gateway. Curiously, I ping my router and other devices on my network so I am connected directly to the router via the Ethernet port. I went into the Windows Firewall with advanced security, and I see that echo for IPv4 queries are allowed for any type of interface (wired or wireless), but this only applies to a domain (that is, knitting) network, only. Perhaps a rule should be created to allow applications to echo on a private network (i.e., mine), as well.

Maybe I should not worry about this, because the solution is just to print on the listed HP ePrint peripheral, but it is ridiculous that I can't print to the D110a locally. Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

    Respectfully,.

    Eric Sternot

Solved! I already knew how to reset the router, as I did several times, but thank you for your diligence.

Anyway, after my router wireless network configuration backup, restore and then return to re - enter the data, I noticed a field called 'enable wireless of isolation '. The description on the information page of the router down the right to say read, "If checked, the under this SSID wireless client can only access the internet and it can not access other even wireless clients under the same SSID, Ethernet customers or this device. Other customers can access the wireless client, either. "No wonder I couldn't ping other devices on my network, while my laptop was using wireless, too! I restored the original configuration of my router from the backup file I had created and then connected, box unchecked "enable wireless isolate" and saved my configuration. I could then all connected devices - wired or wireless - ping on my network, including my printer D110a. I could also print on it locally.

Thanks for your patience to help me solve this problem. I know it sounds dumb, since workaround has been just to print the D110a on the Internet by using the device or the ePrint service, but at least I learned a little more about the configuration of firewall ports and what "isolation wireless" was.

  • HP Pavilion a6745f stop error message

    Hello again!

I'm new to the forum.  I've known a stop error message regarding hpqgpc01.exe.  He says that the program is unable to put end to, click to complete.  I recently bought an HP F4440 AIO.  I tried a solution of a post here. but it did not work.  Anyone has had or has this problem that can point me in the right direction to eliminate this problem?  Anyone know what this file is, exactlly?  AIO has to work properly?  I read a lot of articles and messages about problems with the work of the AIO with Vista.  I really like the IOA and it meets my needs very well, but I can't bear this message popping up every time I shut down my machine!  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  I am running Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Media Center with Vista Service Pack 1 (64-bit), Athlon X 2 (B) 5050e 2.6 GHz (45W).

Nice day!  Sorry for not responding sooner, but I just wanted to make sure that your solution worked for me.  And he did.  And I really, really appreciate you taking the time to answer.  Although, I think I found a solution, which, allows all functions to be used without the message annoying "shutdown" appearing.  In a previous post by J. Rhoades(posted 3/28/08) and it reads as follows:

I got this info from a technician of the HP technical support:

    Go to start > run > services.msc

Find 'HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service', change the startup type to disabled, and then stop the service

I must tell you, it worked like a charm... So far!  But, if he comes back, I'll be sure to post if/when this happens!  Thanks again loads!

For the record, my questions to HP about this case was void avenue.  I made the mistake in using the Chat, in which you ask someone, I suppose, is in another country and it takes for always answering your questions and they seem to be not very well paid on questions about HP products.  So, I am very grateful, there are people who are willing to share their knowledge and experiences with others.  Looks like we have to depend on 'other '!  Thank you all!

  • Pavilion Elite HPE-170 t: need help with the result of a command prompt to Power Options

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 in Windows 7.  Like so many thousands of people, I problelms of sleep mode.  Mine will not be auto-sleep.  It has been suggested that I saw to run command prompt: powercfg-applications

It supposedly will list the items running on your computer which can now be auto-sleep to work.  I tried several times and up to now, I get the same item displayed each time.  This is what is displayed: \device\harddiskvolume2\windows\sysWOW64\svchost.exe (hpqddsvc) is followed by this message: a file delete operation is underway

My first thought is that if there is an operation to remove file in progress all the time, it's maybe the reason why my computer is not auto-sleep.  If there is someone out there who can shed some light on this situation, I would appreciate the help.

    EUREKA * SOLVED

I found the answer to my problem!  After using the control system: powercfg-query and get the answer: \device\harddiskvolume2\windows\sysWOW64\svchost.exe (hpqddsvc) delete file operation is in progress

I started looking for whatever it is associated with the answer above.  In the Manager of tasks in respect of the services, I found the name of the file hpqddsvc, with a description of HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service was running.  When I stopped the task and re-tried in opt power standby mode, it worked correctly.  In the Configuration of the system (by typing msconfig at the run prompt) on the Services tab, I unchecked the box for HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service and rebooted the computer.  The service is no longer running.

I'm sure that this Service has been added to my computer when I downloaded the hp.com/support product detection tool .  The tool scans your computer to detect and identify HP products.

This can be useful to others who have the problem of the auto-sleep I've had.

  • Increases time to start w/HP Officejet J4580?

I just bought and installed an HP Officejet J4580. I am running Vista Home Premium (32) with all updates installed. Time to start the computer after

installation of the printer software has increased 1.5-minute when starting and restarting. Any ideas?

Solution, thanks to the user Grisham. He responded to the thread 'slow with J6480 printer start' in this category (FYI, works

    with VISTA-32 too):

"My PhotoSmart C4380 suffer from the same problem." In a freshly installed XP, who having nothing, but only the C4380 drive suite installed, the drivers will add always about 2-3 minutes for a start.

After some trial and error, I found that if you change the settings of the 'HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service' service to start manually instead of automatically, the start time back to normal.

See if that helps in your situation.

    1. start-> Run-> "Services.msc".

    2. Locate and double-click "HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service"

"3. change its launch option from"Automatic"to"Manual"

  • File not found '\windows\system32\winload.exe"(0xc000000e)

When I try to start with all of the hard drives, other my (new) disc hung on startup, I get the above error.

My computer has recently undergone a complete failure (delivered across the country, arrived looking like a vase inside a concrete box). As a result, I lost my boot drive and had to replace my mother/cpu/ram card. I had six hard drives, and one of the other formatted and reinstalled Windows 7 above. When the installation program has been finished with the CD and rebooted, it gave me the error. I disconnected all other drives and rebooted and it started and completed the installation. After I got Windows, I connected the other readers, they gave and works wonderfully - until I rebooted. Now, every time that I reboot, it's the same story. It is not the end of the world; my computer works at least once and I can access my drives, but fiddling with the SATA cables, each time that I reboot will be really irritating.

Has anyone else had this happen to them, and/or know how to fix?

    Thank you

    Geoff

    Hi T9mothy,

    Method 1
Device Manager would show if the driver for the hardware is corrupted or damaged which can be resolved by updating or reinstalling the driver. Try the steps from the following link to resolve the problem of the internet.

Windows wireless and wired network connection problems
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/wired-and-wireless-network-connection-problems-in-Windows

    Method 2
SFC scanner. SFC will correct if you have corrupted system files.
How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

If you have problems with the hardware, then you need to contact the manufacturer of the computer.

It seems to be a problem with the Win32k.sys file in the patch, but I ran out of utilities to solve this problem.

    Hello

The solution is to report the problem, so the update can be set to not to do so. Microsoft
may already be a fix, or work on it, or it could be a new problem. He
There's even a phone number to make it easier.

Certainly keep good backups that there could be an underlying hard disk or hardware
    issue.

    ========================================================

Here is the solution for the coooo21A except use it when you can just get the fixed update
is not the method I want to use.

    STOP: 0XC000021A

Can be a difficult problem to solve, and you indeed need a technical help in a real store of the computer
(not the leeks and the glances at a BestBuy or other BigBox stores) or system manufacturer support.

    Cause

This error occurs when a subsystem of mode user, such as WinLogon or the Client Server Run-Time Subsystem (CSRSS), irremediably compromised and security can not be guaranteed. In response, the operating system goes into kernel mode. Microsoft Windows cannot run without WinLogon or CSRSS. Therefore, it is one of the rare cases where the failure of a user mode service can stop the system.

Incompatible system files can also cause this error. This can happen if you restored your hard disk from a backup. Some backup programs may skip restoring system files which they determine are in use.

    Solve the problem

Run the kernel debugger is not useful in this situation because the error occurred in a user mode process.

Resolve an error in the user-mode device driver or system, third-party application service: Because the bug 0xC000021A control occurs in a user mode process, the most common culprits are third-party applications. If the error occurred after the installation of the new or updated device driver or service system, third-party applications, the new software should be removed or disabled. Contact the manufacturer of the software on a possible update.

If the error occurs during the system startup, restart your computer, and then press F8 to character-based menu that displays the choice of operating system. In the WindowsAdvanced Options menu that results, select thelast known good Configuration option. This option is most effective when a pilot or a service is added at a time. If the error is not resolved, try to manually remove the offending software. If the system partition is formatted with the (FAT) file allocation table, use a MS-DOS boot disk to access the hard disk of the computer. If the system partition is formatted with the NTFS file system, you may be able to use Safe Mode to rename or remove the defective software. If the defective software is used as part of the start-up procedure of the system Safe Mode, you must start the computer by using the Recovery Console to access the file. If a room newly installed if material is suspected, remove it to see if that fixes the problem.

Try running the emergency recovery disk (ERD) and allow the system to repair any errors that it detects.

Solve a problem of file system do not match: If you have recently restored your hard disk from a backup, check if there is an updated version of the backup/restore program available from the manufacturer. Make sure that the latest Windows Service Pack is installed.
