HP Deskjet F2180: Cannot scan a network printer

Hello: the printer is connected to a home network [via USB hub] 2 workstations. The two PC can print without problem. But can not scan using Solution Center pop up. If the printer is connected directly to a PC, it can scan without problem, but the other PC that is connected to the printer via the USB port cannot sweep and gives an error that it can't find the printer.

The goal is to have two machines connected via the USB Hub and be able to print [who both can] and be able to scan. Currently only a single machine can scan and is the one who has directly connected print. The other machine can print to it but will not scan.

Is it possible that this can be done?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Gus.

Hello Gus,

It is not likely to analysis via a USB hub, such a task like scanning requires a higher power output, the connection is not likley to be strong enough through a USB hub powder as it can not transfer this aount of data required for scanning.

You can try using a powered USB hub and check if that can provide you with better results.

You can learn more about the difference between a MULTIPORT USB Repeater power voltage on and off in the following link:

http://SmallBusiness.Chron.com/difference-between-powered-nonpowered-USB-hubs-71272.html

Although for several computers on a network scanning, scan will be the best solution, such an is designed for the use of multiple computers while a USB device is designed for a single use of PC.

Kind regards

Shlomi

  • Cannot add a network printer

I have a problem with the printer! I have a network printer connected to my router via ethernet. I use the printer via wifi of two macbooks.

I got an error 'printer not connected' and have already tried the following several times:

    • reset the router
    • restarted the printer
    • Reset my printing system
    • renamed the folder library/printers
    • reinstalled my driver of Canon software
    • fact a boot secured my MacBook, then a normal departure

When I try to add the printer again (of course it was removed by rebooting) I don't see anything via Bonjour (in the default tab). The printer has a valid address (via DHCP) and I can ping to my macbook. I also tried to add the printer through the address IP (IPP) - it does not print.

I get all printing stations I can find no joy... help please!

    Peter

This morning, I tried to add a printer, and - as the magic - my printer appears in the window by default. Quickly, I added, print a test page, and then other PDF via Preview. Awesome! Then I tried to print a poster with Acrobat Reader, and I'm back for the message "printer not connected" that marked the beginning of my problems a week ago. Again, I have reset the printing system, even reinstalled two versions (more recent and earlier) drivers. I can ping the printer, but cannot add via IP either.

I searched more problems and solutions print, but in vain.

    Help, please!

  • cannot scan to network folder

I have an Officejet Pro 8500 A910 connected wireless to my home network, who had been working fine for over a year.  Recenly, my router was toggled, and since that time, I can not scan to a network printer folder.  When I try to set up a network folder using the web interface, I get constantly an issue error of the test of the configuration.  I checked all the possible settings and checked that my PC should not be the problem.  I also changed the settings on my antivirus to make sure that it is what allows the connection.  FYI, I have a MFP M476dw I had the same problem with, and I was able to solve the problems with this printer by changing the settings of my antivirus.  Interstingly, I can scan to a folder, when I run the scan of my office, but not the printer itself.  Any suggestions?

    Hello cdscott,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you encounter some problems when it comes to scanning to the network folder.

You said that there is some time you traded your router.  This could be the problem and I have an idea on how to solve this problem.

On the front panel of the printer, use the right arrow key and go to the SetUp menu.  From here you will scroll up until you see network menu.  In the network menu, scroll down until you see default network. Once the restore is complete, return to the top of the network menu and run Setup wireless Wizard.

You will be asked the network password to Finns the wizard.

On the computer, run it HP Print and Scan doctor. I would like to know how to get you out and if you happen to see error codes or messages, please let me know what they are.

    Thanks for your time.

    See you soon,.

  • Satellite P875-S7200: HP Deskjet 1510 cannot connect to the Printer Wizard

When I try to open HP DESKJET 1510 SERIES on my computer it looks like trying to connect to the Printer Wizard but never open and that's why I can't scan anything. How can I connect to the Printer Wizard? On the screen all I can see just - text by default - and it looks like loading but never opened.

Thanks for getting back to me @Amandazone

Looks like you have reduced, I don't know what else could cause this problem.

Since you said that you need the software for the analysis, I came to the top with some other ideas.

    You are able to try this;

    1. Open all programs
    2. Locate / expand your HP folder
    3. Locate/expand your HP Deskjet 1510 case
    4. Try to open HP Scanand see if it will scan

If it will not scan, you can try the steps outlined in this document;  HP scanning software is not open or Scan to a printer using a USB in Windows.

    Another option would be to scan without using HP software;

You can find on theseoptionsScan how-to: Windows 7

Please let me know the results of scanning HP, and what happens when you try to scan without the HP software.

I look forward to hear from you!

    Thank you

  • I have a residential group put in place but apple of my wife air does not recognize and it cannot use the network printer

How can I solve this problem?

Only Windows 7 computers can join a homegroup.

You need to set up a working group for non Windows machines using the network functions.

And if you have a network printer suitable, then it should not matter what OS you have as long as it has drivers for this printer. I guess that you have a SHARED printer and not a network printer in your question?

  • LaserJet professional M1217 nf: cannot scan over network with a printer laserjet 1217 on a Mac

    Hello

    My set up:

    Mac with Yosemite

    LaserJet M1217 more wireless

    Description of the problem:

I can't scan. Preview, the control panel or image capture, I get the same error saying "cannot open a session.

I have installed and reinstalled the drivers/printer about 100 times.

I tried to add the printer/scanner like airprint, or with the name of the printer as a proposed post.

Just what causes the same error.

I have the 2.0 version of the driver installed right now. Tried with 1.7, same result.

I can print without problem since my Mac and my iPad.

Tried it with an ethernet cable and have the same problem in case someone ask.

I looked all over google and doesn't seem like someone else has the same problem? Many people have problems printing over wireless, but it's ok for me. Is the scan, I can't go to work.

Pages of HP does not offer any other driver which has of the Yosemite. HP offers no additional program for Mac and scan.

Don't know what else to try.

    Little help? Anyone?

    Thanks Geminy02,

Unfortunately, your suggestions did not help, and I have a few comments about them.
First of all, your suggestion about the router was the problem is quite impossible, as you will need to check if the ports are open only in the case we're talking about two different network segments. If you have your printer and your computer in the same segment you will have problems of ports.
Second: if I would have chosen IP protocol to add my printer, I wouldn't take the option scan, as you said, which means I could not done any tests that I mentioned in my original post, and I would never have had to the point of getting the error message.
Thirdly: the drivers that you MENTION for download are exactly the same as you get with yosemite, so, this could help to reinstall the driver, it's kind of a long shot (and yes I tried).

In fact, I managed to solve my problem by doing a factory reset of the printer, any sign of a printer in my computer, cleaning and reinstall the printer using the airprint driver suggested by yosemite where to find my bounjur printer.

I tried ro think what could be the reason, or to see all what I had changed, and the only thing I've seen different in the configuration before and after he started to work was the name of the printer. When it did not work my printer was called simply "printer", when he was working he was the full name that comes by default. It would be very strange, that this is the reason, but I just mention it here just in case someone read. I believe that the factory reset was the difficulty, not the configuration itself.

Just for the other readers, I can confirm that this unit can print and scan over my wiresless and cable network on yosemite, with the help of preview, capture image or scan property in the control panel. It took me several hours to make it work, but it does, and my best friend was all the time the printers web page, where you can change the configuration of the printer.

Well, I could have a better understanding now. Have you tried to scan from your computer through the software HP or MS Fax and Scan? Or the other of these programs should allow you to scan your computer through the interface you have installed wireless.

  • HP Deskjet 2540: Cannot scan multiple pages into a single PDF for printer Deskjet 2540 Windows 10

I'm scanning several pages (5) in a single document.  I followed the instructions in the other answers to the questions - I chose the type of pdf file, I chose a less than 300 DPI resolution (I use the default value of 200 dpi), and I clicked on Preview (and not scan).  However, there was no option 'Add' page when you preview is posted.

I don't know that I've scanned multiple pages in a single document, following the intructions of same, before moving on to Windows 10.  It is no longer possible with Windows 10?

    Thank you.

Is this program, the program of HP that was loaded with the drivers and full software?

You should have something like this with a sign at the 07:00 position.

  • DeskJet F4280 - cannot scan to PDF

When I open the file Type drop-down list in the Scan to Options to save file screen, PDF does not appear as a file type.  I have Adobe Extended Pro installed on my computer.  Solution?

    This may solve your problem:

    0. you should have the CD that came with the printer. the solution which is listed below works for the windows xp operating system.

1 browse the CD-> go to the installation folder. -> Go to the folder DocProc. -> , Double-click Docproc.msi to install.  you will not see any progress etc.,.
    2. browse the CD-> go to the installation folder. -> Move from Qfolder. -> Qfolder.msi double click on install.  Same as above.

    3. return to your under the scanning settings option and HP solution center you shhould the chance to see the PDF options (and a few others also).
