HP DeskJet f4280 spit on white paper.
I can hear printing but the paper is white when it is finished. I have downloaded and run the latest version of HP print and Scan Dr., when it's over, all cheques green say everything is good to go, but the test print comes out blank. Then I did an ink cartridge clean and purge several times, still no printing... I am running Windows 7, 32-bit... Help? Thank you

DeskJet F4280: White stripes (no printing) - F4280
Horizontal white stripes (no printing) - seem to be in the same location on the page when they occur. 'Only' occur when printing from a Microsoft Works word document or spreadsheet, or copy a page perfectly printed. Welcome to the HP community! I wanted to stop to my suggestions to help with your problems. If I understand the questions, print outs of Microsoft Works and when making the copies of your Deskjet F4280 all come out with horizontal white bands on them...
As copies are a feature that doesn't involve all the computer, it is a sign of a hardware problem. You can try a power reset (see below) and to ensure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet, avoiding the power and surge arresters bars.
Try to make a copy again from the front of the printer and if the horizontal bands to continue, you will need a new unit and I would say to contact HP to see on your next printer options.
If you find that copies work fine, please let me know and we can move on to troubleshooting software because it will show us that the printer itself is OK!

DeskJet F4280 all-in-one: Deskjet F4280 print white

I just inherited a HP Deskjet F4280, printer all in one and put in place. It auto downloaded the correct driver from Apple and added the printer in system preferences / print and fax. I use OS 10.10 on a mini mac computer.
I tried an alignment page and it prints blank page. Goes through the motions as if it's really the impression, but the page is empty! Tried a regular document via overview and MS Word, same result... blank page.
I checked and the utility said all the cartridges are fine and have enough ink.
I deleted the printer and readded twice and reset once the CUPS. Same result.
Any other ideas?

I m not able to print double-sided for my Deskjet F4280 printer on my mac only. I can do it on PC, but not Mac because it is disabled. I need help because I use my Mac laptop daily, and it of a complete waste of paper and money and is too heavy to carry paper that is printed single-sided.

Manual duplex printing from a Mac running is different from how it works on Windows PC.
Please follow the steps below to perform the required task.
An option to perform manual duplex printing is to use the Pages to the printer setting, you can find below:

I'm using Firefox for the past 7-8 years & I think he is more comfortable browser, but now I install window7 & Firefox is the browser default but it icon on the html and htm files becomes blank white paper after some time & its so boring. Please help me with this problem. I read so many articles on the internet and tried, but in vain.

Printer owner exactly six months and worked well. I have not changed the settings; still has ink in the cartridge; Do a test print - no problem; the cables and all connected. I click on print to the screen and the printer works and acts like it is printing, but the result when it's over is just blank paper. I tried other print jobs and got the same result - white paper
I connected the cables on another computer and got the same results. What could be the problem?

(1) once the page opens, please select the country in which you are located. Then enter your model of HP on the right number.
(2) then choose "Contact the Support" tab at the top and scroll to the bottom of the page "HP Support - contact" to fill out the form with your details.
(3) Once finished, click the "Show Options" at the bottom right.
(4) Finally, scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Get a phone number." A file number and telephone number will now fill for you.

C8180 don't align with the white paper
Hi just bought a used C8180. The test print shows empty for forj light scratches white and cyan, and cyan light magenta and magenta. I replaced all cartridges with new ones. I ran numerouse printhead cleaning and self-test of reports. Black print is fine.
The pictures are horrible.
Trying to align the printer, it gives the error "use clean white paper." The white paper is 96bright and new.
I turned the unit on, reinsert the cartridges.

The printer uses a colorful light to align the print head. If required (in this case Cyan) color is not printing - the printer cannot complete the alignment. If the printer does not know there is a problem, then he thing you use other than white paper.
It seems that the printhead of the printer no longer works.

New laptop Compaq 6730 b. Cannot start with DeskJet F4280 attached
Recently bought a new laptop Compaq 6730 b. Had the Deskjet F4280 all-in-one printer. The drivers installed, and then connected a printer to the USB port on the laptop. Laptop does not start except unplug printer USB. This printer is not compatible with this laptop model?

Scan does not not on my HP Deskjet F4280 all-in-One. The power button flashes when you press scan. Everything else works. I tried to unplug it from the wall socket and reconnect it. Not solve the problem. What else can I try? Or, is it a piece of junk now and needs replacement? My laptop (windows vista) did not go into repairs several months ago. Don't know if that had anything to do with it.

What operating system are you using and how the printer is connected? Have you tried to uninstall the drivers and reinstalling by downloading the latest software feature complete? You can download the latest drivers from the link below. Just select your operating system.

Cannot print on shared Deskjet F4280
Can anyone help with this one?
A HP Deskjet F4280 is connected to my box of 64-bit Vista Ultimate via the USB port. Large prints.
Tried to share it on my D-link wireless home network.
Active "shared printer" on the main box that is connected to the printer.
Connected to the printer on the second computer (also the Ultimate Vista 64 bit) via "add a printer".
Successfully print a test page.
Tried to print the second computer on a variety of applications (that is to say, notepad, word, etc.) and nothing is printed. Jobs disappeared in the air.
I tried all the buttons and push all the buttons in the print preferences and nothing changed the result. Ideas, suggestions?Message edited by HPMaui on 08/01/2009 12:20Ok... After about 6 hours of effort in this one I solved it. BTW, HP customer support was worthless. They said that the product cannot be networked and suggested that I return it.
Here's what fixed the issue.
1. directly connected the printer to the computer and installed the drivers from the installation CD. Note that I have not installed any other software (for example HP essentials, OCR etc..)
2 reconnect the printer to the main box, making sure that it was always identified as "shared."
3. "added printer' on the second computer (network, no space). Successfully connected to the HP F4200 series. Set as default printer.
4 print a test page failed!
5 succeed to print from word, Excel, Notepad and browser.
6. note that I did not remove the printer default F4200 attached directly to the second computer.

Extremely slow Boot Up After installing HP Deskjet F4280
I am running Windows Vista Home Basic with 2 GB of RAM. I have a few days ago I intalled a HP Deskjet F4280 all-in-one. Since that time I am experiencing extremely slow start when I start my computer. Things move along fine until I get to the Welcome screen. That stays on for about 30-45 seconds, then I get a blue screen that remains as long as two minutes. After the end of the boot system, everything seems to work normally. I played a little bit and found out that if I turn user account control, I get a normal startup. Any help will be appreciated.
1. click on the start menu and click on "Run" and type "services.msc" and press the Enter key.
2. in the Services window, locate the HP CUE Device Discovery Service and double-click it.
3. you should find something that says "Startup Type" Who put in "manual".
4. click on the button "Apply" and close all windows.
Or if you want an alternative, then turn off UAC. It's annoying as hell anyway! -

Unable to install printer Deskjet F4280 all-in-one Windows Pro 8.1
A week ago my laptop with Windows Pro 8.1 was a significant error and he stopped, then I restarted the operating system with a previous image of the hard drive C.
