HP DreamColor Z27x: Calibration HP Dreamcolor Z27x - guides

Hello

The User Guide Dreamcolor_Z27x.pdf, page52 under "Introduction to Color Calibration.

says:

"

A detailed discussion of the calibration is covered in the
HP DreamColor Z27x Advanced User Guide

"

This guide seems to be hidden quite well.

Then, on page Z27x, there is a link to:

"Best Practices for the HP DreamColor Z27x Studio Professional screen calibration"

However, only one results in a 404 error.

where to find these books?

Thank you

Is it possible to know if my Macbook Pro display colors to the correct color temperature?

When I got it, it seemed hot, so I adjusted... .but how do I know if it is now right?

    Hello there, Chris.

It seems you are trying to determine how much to calibrate the screen on your MacBook Pro. The following Knowledge Base article provides a few strides and the link to do this in the latest version of Mac OS x:

OS X El Capitan: calibrate your screen

The colors on your screen can be changed by many factors, such as ambient light, the position and the angle of the screen and the age of the screen. To take these changes into account, you can set your display to show accurate color using calibrator Assistant monitor.

Calibrate it regularly to ensure accurate color.

    1. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, click view, and then click color.
    2. Click calibrator Calibrate.Display wizard guide you through calibrating your monitor, then creates a calibrated color profile. When the display profile is ready, it is automatically assigned in the color profile of your screen.

Some screens have additional built-in color calibration and precision features. For more information, see the documentation that came with your monitor.

  • DreamColor LP2480zx does not recognize the USB for calibration

    Hello

I have a DreamColor LP2480zx, which does not recognize the USB connection to the computer during calibration.  I have my eye HP connected through this monitor, so I know the connection and the cable is good and mouse, keyboard.  My setup is like this:

Reference Dell 690 running 64 bit + Windows XP

    DreamColor LP2480zx

    Apple Cinema Display 23 "

I bought the DreamColor used, and in all other respects, it seems to work very well.  The original owner didn't have it calibrated within a certain time, but said that having had no problem with the previous calibration.  I installed the last APS (version 2.0) and updated to the latest firmware.  These updates produces no change in recognition USB problem.

The interesting thing is, I was able to calibrate the Apple Cinema Display, using the same configuration of connection (mouse, keyboard, and HP eye connected to the computer via the LP2480zx) APS was able to see the USB connection and this very well calibrated monitor.

I had trouble with this problem for a few days.  I've looked around quite a bit online and found a few others who have this same problem, but I did not yet find someone who can point out a solution.  If anyone has had this same problem, or has heard of results that correct it, please let me know, because it's very frustrating.

    Thanks for any help

    Clay

An update to my previous post, I realized a work around for this problem.

Apparently, this problem has to do with the Dreamcolor screen and/or software APS do not like working with 64 bit systems.  I'm not saying that it is always the case, but I saw the other posts on this problem on 64-bit systems, and I spoke with two other people personally who told me that they also had the same problem, try to calibrate its Dreamcolor monitor when it was attached to a 64-bit system.  HP does not seem to be concerned about this problem, because they do not even recognize its existence, but since I'm far from being the first to report this problem, he's obviously not a one-time problem.

My solution was this: I had connect the monitor to a regular running XP 32 bit system.  After I did, I could re - calibrate the monitor without the problem of USB connection.  This isn't a very good solution because not everyone has access to several machines, running different operating systems.  But it's a work around, and it worked for me.

Hope this helps other people who have this same problem with their Dreamcolor monitors hooked to their 64-bit systems.

    Clay

PS- I posted this as resolved, only because I was able to calibrate my monitor.  It's not really solved the problem, but it gets the monitor working again.  Maybe HP will address this problem in the future, but I'm not holding my breath.

  • DreamColor LP2480zx do not show a picture

    Hello

I hope you can help. My DreamColor LP2480zx display was off for a few months while I've not used. Now I just turn it on and the Panel is turned on, the fans inside can be heard and the buttons on the screen lights up for about 10 seconds before disappearing to.

I can't press the buttons: no menus appear. There is also no 'No Input' error when nothing is plugged. Normally monitor its configuration when it fades between different colors but isn't it either. I tested it with a HDMI and DVI input input (both working on another monitor), but it does not always display anything.

    Help, please!

Update: problem now fixed in now the buttons for 10 seconds and it started working. No idea why!

  • How to use the .icm calibration a parser in the calibration of the timeline?

I am currently using a wide gammut HP ZR30w screen that has been calibrated by the Dreamcolor Hp Advanced profiling solution (it's basically a put to update the X-rite i1 display that takes in charge wide gammuts).

I created a good .icm and windows 7 is color management applications that are supported on the OS level color management.  However Speedgrade CS6 does not support color management in windows 7 at the OS level.

However, Speedgrade has a calibration module in the timeline panel-> Configuration tab.  Here, you can load luts and .icm files.  I tried my loading screens. ICM, but the result was very mixed and clearly wrong.

Is it possible to convert the. ICM generated by x-rite software so that I can listen to extracts specific rec.709 of colors in Speedgrade without having to use a second monitor?  Currently a quadro with SDI output is a very expensive thing to buy, and my monitor is not an sRGB mode.

I was able to convert the .icm profile for my monitor profile tool HP Dreamcolor advanced using dispcalGUI.  It is also worth noting that I don't have to calibrate the monitor again as the dispalGUI program has a tool that allows to convert any .icm to a lut .cube valid for load in Speedgrade, and I assumed that other applications such as Davinci.

    Here's how:

    • Install the required files of ArgyLL and DispcalGUI.  Check out their site for info
    • Once you have done DispcalGUI to the ArgyLL files, you can go to:
      • Create TOOLS--> 3D LUT
    • Under Profile Source, I chose Rec.709 HDTV.  This is the profile that you want your colors must be transformed.
    • Under target profile, select it. ICM your generated color calibration software.  In windows 7, they are usually stored here:
      • C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color
    • Uncheck the apply calibration (vcgt)
    • Under make intention you will need to make a choice.  This site should help:
      • I chose Colorimetry Relative because my Wide gammut monitor can display more colors than the Rec.709, there is no reason to choose absolute Colorimetry as any color outside my calibration of monitors could mess with colors even if they can legally appear on my monitor.
    • 3D Lut format was IRIDAS .cube
    • And the lut there were 32 x 32 x 32.
    • Save a .cube file by pressing "create 3d LUT...". »
    • In Adobe Speedgrade and on the Schedule tab, select INSTALL program.
    • Under calibration,... Click to load a lut custom somewhere on your PC.
    • Navigate to where you saved your file .cube and select.
    • The video preview is now based on your current calibration .icm color managed

To verify that your profile is correct, try to open up a jpeg to sRGB in the windows photo viewer as it is managed by the OS of color.  Import this same Jpeg in Speedgrade and see with the monitor with your calibration loaded lut.  The results should be the same.

  • Vst 5645r PXI gain / attenuation calibration chain RX TX

    Hello

I work with PXI vst 5645r. I did some research using the RF output of the transmitter connected with the receiver RF input.

In my application, it is important to know the equivalent mitigation and win I get (output of the DAC) generation up to the acquisition (input of the ADC) (loop gain).

I looked at http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/373680C-01/vstdevices/5645_analog_input/ and http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/373680C-01/vstdevices/5645_analog_output/ in order to better understand how to build the structure of my channels.

Whole, I looked in the drawing in labview how these parameters are controlled and value (example VST streaming (host)). I found only the configuration of gain for the transmitter in the 'LO_cal' block but I don't see no calculations for the various mitigations of transmitter. I have to check these datas for the transmitter.

How are managed and put all these settings in the transmitter and the receiver normally?

I guess that the receiver channel attenuates the signal in order to use the dynamic maximum range od a/d converters and use good power from receiver... calibration changes the values of gain/attenuation in the receiver string whenever I use a different gain (peak power dbm) of the issuer?

    Thanks in advance

    Best regards

    Giuseppe

The reference level is a 'guide' for the driver VST set the attenuators and win as well as the range of the ADC/DAC are used at best.
Depending on the frequency that you and the chosen reference level, the VST pilot will focus on the best combination of the mitigations

and win to get the Signal arriving at the ADC to use his full range:
You can see the calculations in this niRFRIO Group A Config 1.0.0 Shared Private.lvlibelect RF calibrated Gain.vi

This Gain is 'Gain of frequency step-down converter' that summarize the entire path of Rf In.

So practicall frequencies/Upconverter Gain step-down converter is the total analog gain that is put on the signal just before and after the ADC/DAC.
This is done in the niRFRIO Group A Config 1.0.0 Shared Private.lvlibelect RF calibrated in Gain.vi.

The discovery to Gain Index scan all possible power levels for this frequency and get the level closest to the chosen reference level.

Whith this information, he knows what attenuators and win it must reach the power to get at its best at the ADC (input gain settings)

So to calculate the loop gain, you must define a level of refeerence fix so that all mitigations and gain in the two paths of remain fixed, test it with a calibrated CW and then use this configuration for your DUT.

When you read the QI of the VST (retrieve a single record) this information is passed to the function, so it can calculate the values of CDA and calibrated to their actual value on the RF In:

If you calculate the gain of loop inside the FPGA, then he must send the information of step-down converter frequency/upconverter gain between the host and the FPGA. You can then use this information to calculate the loop gain.

  • Check calibration of the battery via the battery HP method

Right now there a few things I don't understand in the image above.

    1. I did the test of flow twice now and the battery went from 3456mAh to 3878mAh which is still far from the maximum value of 5100mAh. During these tests to calibrate the besise number has increased from 19 to 21. Now the first question is what the '21' actually mean?

    2. I am doing something wrong in the calibration process? I thought I would once and then I would get the battery to its full potential.

Notice that I've never calibrated at 1.5 years (since the day I bought it) and battery spent 4hours in 2 hours and 45 minutes.

    3. How will I be able to have two batteries? I checked the back, the bottom, the sides, but I can't find anything that would indicate to anywhere I might be able to put a battery additional in. (model HP ProBook 6450 b)

Finally is there anything else I can do to calibrate more fast than to do this test even over and ovr again until I've hit 5100?

    Thanks in advance!

Edit: Now 20 minutes later after having disconnected the charger, I get higher mAh values which means that something went right, but I don't know what. 13% / 700 mAh jump is quite important.

I have done this correctly and managed or?

Edit 2: As I write this just cut HP Battery Check gain 700mAh 400mAh I just got I get really frustrated and confused

    Hello

Each battery is sooner or later going to the end.

Why you have different values and the lack of true valuation.

After my experience, I can tell you that battery is unable to balance the level of real life at the specified level, and it is 'normal '. That's why you see what you see. Common calibration accelerates only the end of battery life.

See page 30 of the guide service from your cell phone here. It will show you where you can connect the second battery.

  • UP2716D, calibration with Spyder5Elite?

I was just request if it's a good idea, or necessary, calibrated my desktop PC, with my Spyder5Elite software, when it is connected to my Ultra strong UP2716D monitor.

I ask this question because this monitor is calibrated at the factory to equipment.  TI have set the monitor to the Adobe RGB color space

I would just in the calibration with the Spyder5Elite of thinking would only make changes to my graphics (GeForce GTX 970 4 GB graphics card) card and not on the screen.

  • U2413 problem of calibration double monitor and a Question

    Hello

Yesterday, I received my new 2 U2413 monitors.  I finally understood how to calibrate them by installing the appropriate software: Dell UltraSharp adjustment of the calibration Solution 1.5.3.

Now my problem is that I don't get the same options of calibration for each monitor.

#1 monitor, the Dell UltraSharp calibration Solution called "DELL U2413 (2) KTXXK418AEFL", after clicking on "View profile" from the home screen offers me options White Point like CIE Illuminant D65 (ranging from D50 to D75), then native, temperature of daylight, xy... and measure.

#2 monitor, the Dell UltraSharp calibration Solution called "DELL U2413 (2) KTXXK418AEVL", after clicking on 'View of profiling' in the home screen offers me options that I expected from the user guide: AdobeRGB, sRGB, Rec. 601, Rec. 709, SMPTE-C xy, native and Custom...

Why are they different?  I used natively to calibrate the monitor #2 and it automatically set.  I used to calibrate the monitor #1 CIE Illuminant D65 and it does everything automatically except luminance, that I had to do it manually via the controls of the monitor.

Monitor #1 seems to be the solution to hot.  It is almost blinding, and the colors still seem a bit saturated.  It seems that the calibration of Monitor #2 was much more thorough (it took a lot more time and seems to do everything for me).

Why I don't get the same options for each?

And finally, I think that I read that if I let the i1Display Pro plugged and by the monitors, it can adjust the brightness during the day based on the light in the room.  Is this true?  If so, what should I do to activate this for two screens?

Sorry this post is so long and thanks in advance for any help.

    Sincerely,

    Gary

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19566605.aspx

Chris said that an update (when?) will correct this problem. Until then plug a monitor when using a DA, after calibration to connect the two and configure your installation of double screen.

When two of the same model monitors are connected, the selection options becomes different. X - rite will release a new software version to fix this bug. In the meantime, connect to only one monitor at a time for calibration.

    DELL-Chris M

Update - my apologies for you mislead. X - rite has confirmed that this is not a bug fix. DUCCS (Dell UltraSharp color calibration Solution) software works as expected. In a double or more monitor configuration, you must have only a monitor connected to the computer at the same time during calibration. Calibrate this monitor. Then disconnect it and connect the second monitor. Calibrate.

  • Calibration of monitor and printer

My monitor and my printers need calibration. There are differences between such images that displayed on the display of the camera and the monitor and the monitor and printers. I seeks to determine the Colormunki and Spyder Studio solutions, but cannot find any current advice on the merits of each of these solutions. Does anyone have current experience? My system includes a Nikon D7000, an Acer monitor and printers Canon Pro9000 Mark II, MG6200, and MX920.

    Thanks for any thoughts.

Reduce the number of variables. First of all the scorn the LCD of the camera, which is not yet remotely reliable as a guide to anything. And it could be that the display is where you should really spend your money first. What model? At the very least, there should be a panel IPS-type; If it's a slab TN, he has narrow angles and poor color accuracy in general. A good photographic use monitor will be around $500 and up, depending on the size.

Anyway: calibrate the screen and set the objectives to give a Visual match to the printed output. Set the temperature and the luminance of the white point so white monitor is a match Visual white paper under your specific display requirements. Then set point range black/contrast, if software has this option. Glossy paper is normally in the order of 250: 1.

Accurate color reproduction is actually not as important but to rethink the General brightness and contrast. Neutral color balance will be the same as the white point chromaticity and the display profile allows you to compensate for the specific screen response and irregularities. These things will be put in place by themselves. The critical point is to get the targeting for your work environment.

Canon pro9000 resembles a great printer, use it as a guide - but make sure you have the correct printer profiles loaded, for the paper tray you are using. I don't bother with calibration of printer, get the first right screen calibration.

That said, between the ColorMunki Photo and the studio of Spyder, I'd go for the first, simply because x-rite make sensors more reliable and consistent.

  • Next step in the color calibration

    Hello:

I now have a monitor color calibration that comes close to matching this only outputs of my printer, but I want to bring closer you.  If I understand the process, basically what I now want to do is make slight adjustments so that what is on my screen corresponds to what comes out of the printer.  I find that the printer produces images slightly more dark that appear on the screen.  I guess the first thing I do is to recalibrate the screen to match the printer (profile ICC of Ilford), which would mean a reduction in brightness.  Right now I'm at 80cd.  Should what kind of steps I use in these settings?  In other words, I'm dealing with the target as the printer ICC profile and trying to match the target screen.  Is this the right approach?

Second, what differences White Point setting (6500K) and contrast (286:1) will be in term to better align the screen to the printer?  And in what direction.

As you can tell, I'm new to the color calibration.

    Thank you

    Jack Siegel

A Shirley would surely be a woman named... I jest, just not too well this morning

But it would be an example of a photo you know is properly color managed if it prints directly on your game to the top.  Have next new images to be printed must be a good visual guide to this process; only one check more along the way.
