HP dv6-2150us failure of recovery with new drive

My HP Pavilion dv6-2150us Win 7 64 bit computer portable 320 GB drive has failed.  I want to install a 500 GB drive for a replacement, but get an error message when about 35% through the process recovery disk.  I tried all three options, system reset factory and reduced to a minimum.  All fail.

The new drive can be partitioned and formatted easily into another computer.

Any advice?

The problem seems to be the process of partition/format.  I partitioned and formatted the drive on another PC via a USB/SATA cable and was finally able to do thanks to the installation of recovery factory reset.  Watching the reboot process and installation of things.

    Computer has been very slow intermittently these last time with frequent hang up or is insensitive and requiring a hard reboot. Diagnosis of Norton ran without help. Ran start test and got an error in the DST (?) with warranty ID 0w5a7t-4t67kx-xd03ha-60vt03.

    I then ran the hard drive test and received a slightly different error code: 0w5a7t-4t67kx-xd03ha-60vb03.

    Hoping he would go, I ran again and received the same code. All other tests passed. I can't find a guide to the interpretation of code error. I fear this is a mechanical problem with the hard drive to other areas of discussion board but would like to know for sure. I am out of warranty. Thank you.

    DST error codes indicate the disk hard a failed/is a failure and should be replaced. Laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive

  • Vista 32 bit Vaio System Recovery on new drive

    My drive completely crashed and had to be replaced (Vaio VGN-N325E). I try to use the DVD of Sytem Vaio recovery for Vaio VGN-N300E series I ordered Sony (contains recovery Vista 32 Bit and all programs). He gets on the "System Recovery Options" where it is said if you do not see your operating system are mentioned (I don't) click on load drivers to load the drivers for your hard drive. When I click Load Drivers, it appears to add DRIVERS with the message "insert the media from the device and click OK to select the driver. When I click OK it refresh the folder System32 of the boot drive. I'M STUCK AT THIS POINT. Can I put in the disc 1 or 2? which driver I'm looking for? Where is it located?

    Unfortunately, we can not really help with the retrieval of the disks or the manufacturer recovery Partitions - they are the manufacturer and non-Microsoft.  We have not the necessary information on the process of recovery from each manufacturer to be able to help you.  You need to get in touch with Vaio Support technical assistance to this process: http://b2b.sony.com/Solutions/lpage.do?page=/support/business_support.html&name=Support.

    Sorry we can't be more helpful.

  • Tecra 9100 - error IDE with new drive

    I want to use a burner DVD UJ - 820B on my Tecra 9100, BIOS-Version 1.6.
    If I change the UJ-820, I have IDE #1 error in the Bootscreen, and the device is not recognized.

    No tool or the update for this problem?

    A #1 IDE error normally if a wrong settings or connection together.
    So I think that the disc is not compatible with the laptop.

    Look in your user manual and choose a drive that is listed in the manual. Not every drive is compatible with any laptop.

  • failure of dg4odbc with MSSQL driver

    Hello

    I know that this subject has been discussed several times, but I couldn't find one that would have helped me.

    My problem is the following:

    I have a platform of Oracle 11 g 2 on RedHat 6 and I need to get data from a SQL Server 2005 / 2008.

    To do this, I installed Microsoft driver for Linux and I use dg4odbc with a database link.

    Everything goes well until I need to retrieve data from SQL Server defined as varchar (max).

    In this case, I can't solve the problem: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server] string data, the truncation on the right {01004}

    If I connect using Microsoft (in the box of Red Hat) tools such as sqlcmd, I can run the SQL queries without problem.

    As soon as I try to get the same data by the database link, I get the previous error.

    For example, I created a test with the following definition table on my SQL Server box, and I inserted a registration:

    CREATE TABLE TEST (col1 int, col4 varchar (max), varchar (30) col2, col3 nvarchar (30))

    INSERT INTO TEST VALUES (1, 'value2', N 'value3', 'value4')

    I'm just doing a SELECT * FROM TEST@remote

    Then I activated the logs for dg4odbc and driver SQL Server.

    Here's what I see:

    the newspaper of ODBC:

    [ODBC] [24984] [1390400782.066544] [SQLDescribeCol.c] [247]

    Entry:

    Column size = 0x7fffce187d80-> 0

    Decimal digits = 0x7fffce187dec-> 0

    Nullable = 0x7fffce187df0-> 1

    As you can see, the size of column is returned as 0.

  • Windows XP system restore Boot Failure with new hard drive

    HP Touchsmart IQ546t running Windows XP Home Edition

    Here is my story:

    A few months ago my PC was informing me that a hard disk failure is imminent and how can I back up my data.

    I was able to get most of the data backed up and has continued to use the PC.

    Finally, the hard drive failed.

    Not being not able to find system restore disks, I ordered a set of HP.

    In the meantime, I was able to save the rest of my data using an external hard drive enclosure, a laptop and a backup disk.

    I used system restore discs to erase the hard drive and restore the operating system.

    After the successful restoration, I was able to boot my PC and use it for a few days, but again became imminent hard disk failure message. Yet once again, the hard drive failed and I was unable to use it.

    I decided to replace the hard drive, thinking I could install and use the system restore disks to get the installed operating system.

    I followed all the instructions, I find and could not start the machine to the point he will recognize the recovery disc. I receive a message that tells me to insert a bootable media.

    Does anyone know what I'm missing here?

    Is there something I can try to get the hard drive to boot to the point he will recognize the recovery disk?

    Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hello

    OPS, sorry on this subject.  If the recovery discs are not recognized not so you act have a problem trying to get the new HDD to be restored.

    Try the procedure below and see what happens.  View your results.

    Cyberlink CD recovery for hard drives. When you created this CD, insert it into the system that fails to start, restart, and wait until you see a window with a green check mark.  Next, remove the CD and insert your first recovery DVDs.  Reboot the PC and go through the process of installing the operating system again.  If all goes well, it should install properly this time.

  • Problem with different ASM disaster recovery start - new

    Hello together,

    I had an old net here about it but now will not solve the problem with the points in the old thread. Here's the old: https://community.oracle.com/thread/3608049?start=0 & tstart = 0

    I'm doing a disaster recovery with the 'apex11A' on a new server database, which has an another ASM starts. The old man starts is '+ DGA112_1' and '+ FRA112_1', newcomers are called '+ DATA_QUM169' and '+ FRA_QUM169 '. I changed the settings in the spfile restored by writing in a pfile file and creating the spfile from pfile.

    I tried in several ways. First lay the new ASM with RMAN to the course:

    run
    {
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATABASE TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    restore database until LOGSEQ 24286;
    switch datafile all;
    switch tempfile all;
    recover database until LOGSEQ 24286;
    }

    Then I tried it in RMAN by defining the new ASM for each data file:

    run
    {
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 1 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 2 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 3 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 4 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 5 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 6 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 7 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 8 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 9 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 10 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 11 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 12 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 13 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 14 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 15 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 16 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 17 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 18 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 19 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 20 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 21 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 22 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 23 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 24 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 25 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 26 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 27 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 28 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    restore database until LOGSEQ 24286;
    switch datafile all;
    switch tempfile all;
    recover database until LOGSEQ 24286;
    }

    Then I tried the bot in one:

    run
    {
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATABASE TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 1 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 2 TO '+DATA_QUM169';

    But my new database will not set the new ASM and I have no why.

    The db_create_file_dest parameter is set correctly, so I think that:

    NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE
    ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
    db_create_file_dest                  string      +DATA_QUM169

  • Want J010dx m7: windows will not start until after full recovery of the system with new HARD drive

    Hello world

    I need help here.

    My HP envy m7 J010dx works perfectly with my original hard drive (1 TB).

    I am preparing a second HDD (NEW 320) as backup.

    I took off the Moose HDD (1 TB) and replace it with the NEW HARD drive (320GB) and try to do a full recovery of the system with the HP recovery DVD.

    After full system recovery and laptop computer needs to be restarted in order to continue, the laptop keeps restarting on the logo of windows 8.

    I think it says device not found Boot. Also a test using the UEFI tool material HP and all pass.

    Replacing the NEW HARD drive with the original of the old HARD drive and it start normally.

    What can go wrong here in this case? Thank you very much for the help.

    Concerning

    John

    OK, I read through the thread and this is my point of view on this based on works including restore process with the user created a recovery (UCRDs) media which the user indicated that they used.

    If you just want to jump to the conclusion at the bottom, you can see my opinion. If you want to know 'why' Please read the entire post.

    Model No.: m7-j010dx

    Product #: E0K83UA #ABA

    Ships OS: Windows 8 (64-bit)

    Recovery HP part No. Kit: 730336-002 (3 DVDs + extra)

    User replaced the HARD drive with a 1 TB hard drive 5400 RPM with HP ProtectSmart hard drive Protection a new hard drive is a Seagate Momentus 7200.4 ST9320423AS 320 GB 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache SATA 3.0 GB / s 2.5 "Notebook internal hard drive.

    With the help of UCRDs sent media recovery media (SSRDs):

    When the UCRDs are created, only the drivers for the HW operation (this is a critical point, that I will look later) are burned to the user created a recovery media.  Consider this a snapshot of the current HW, the base drivers and software applications.   If you change the HW on your laptop or desktop where the additional device requires a different driver for these features, a few questions you might - recovery process could stop because he can't find the right driver, a blue screen, a lack of start-up or other unstable system.

    A few years ago, I had a PC that would not recover because the Blu - ray (ODD) optical disk drive did not work.  I replaced the WEIRD Blu - ray with a generic DVD/CD burner into the new part of Blu - ray is presented.   I got the PC using SSRDs thinking I would put some time and just install the Blu - ray after the PC has been recovered.   The PC recovered and when the new Blu - ray showed I installed the unit and guess what?  All PCs have shown in Device Manager and applications was a generic ODD - no Blu - ray capability and ability to read Blu - ray content in the default HP provided for multimedia applications delivered with the PC.  Applications were there but no Blu - ray capability.

    Huh?  It looks that I did not put any time at all.

    I inserted the new Blu - ray ODD and distributed recovery with the HP SSRDs.

    After recovery, I had all the Blu - ray drivers and applications supported Blu - ray.

    The difference between UCRDs and SSRDs:

    UCRDs provide a glimpse of what is installed and functional both disks are created.

    Version Digest of the player on what is happening with SSRDs to retrieve a PC (before Windows 10):

    SSRDs have all the drivers for all the HW and SW qualified for the unit.  There may be several drivers for hard drives, different types/screen resolutions, sides, etc.  Based on the characteristics of the specific laptop / desktop a process is run called "Do / don't.   After entering the recovery SDRD, the Notebook media boots to Recovery Manager.  The first step is a raw copy of all the contents of the disc on a temporary partition.  Following the Do / do not process looks at the characteristics of this specific unit and remove all other drivers and applications not used by this device.  Drivers and the only successful applications are the features supported.   And then, the new operating system and recovery partition is created.   The PC end recovery of cleaning process and restart the laptop / desktop. And, Yes, you guessed it, if you create the user created a recovery media, you only have the drivers for HW devices and applications of HP on the PC at the time.

    So, that being said, what could be the cause/solution?

    Hard drives can be different enough so that a different driver (not the UCRDs) is necessary for the newly installed HW.

    The SSRDs are supported on the new HARD drive installed?

    I don't know, I have an office boy, and I have not tried on this model of laptop.

    If you have / acquire SSRDs, I recover the laptop with the new installed HARD drive and see if it works.  It may or may not.  I don't know what drives were qualified for this laptop.

    If this does not work, the last option is cloning via USB connection (old HARD drive in the PC, new HARD drive connected to a USB 3 via the SATA Adapter (dongle) USB port, install or download software cloning and cloning the old HDD to the new.)   I just did this on the two older Windows 7 computers laptops using a SanDisk Ultra kit.  He has worked on both units.

    Conclusion:

    I don't think that the problem is caused from a HARD drive of 1 to a 320 GB HARD drive, as it meets the minimum specs for a complete installation.  I think the problem is related to the use of UCRDs to retrieve and the UCRDs do not have the HARD driver/firmware/application disc.

    But then again, I know.

  • Recovery of Windows 7 with new HARD drive

    Hello Forum

    If you guys helped me with the HARD 'bankrupt' drive - and I have a new drive HARD ready to install.
    But I need to back up the operating system (Windows 7).

    I don't have an external hard drive PC configured.
    I have the DVD. I have a memory stick (empty - but unknown to memory capacity).
    There is little data to be transferred (and to be honest - if it was over it would not be the end of the world).

    So I just need to back up the operating system.
    I went in the 'create a back-up' then 'create a system image '.
    But (and I may be wrong here) it seems that if she needs a greater memory than the DVD I inserted.

    The indices here folks?

    And - waaaay out of my comfort zone. So any help is appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Helpless dad.

    > I went in the 'create a back-up' then 'create a system image '.
    This has nothing to do with the picture Toshiba Recovery and recovery disc. There is option of Windows.

    If I have the right of you you want to create DVDs that you can use to clean the OS recovery installation of recovery. How it can be done is described in the document s user manuals.

    Anyway, recovery media can be created using preinstalled Toshiba Recovery disk creator tool.

    Check it out please
    By the way: has your laptop at the moment factory settings?

  • How to install Windows without recovery disc - Satellite A660 with new HARD drive

    Hey,.

    Portable 500 GB HDD of my friend Toshiba Satellite A660 seems to have died.
    I tied him to my laptop on a sata dock and runs a data recovery program because nothing has been saved. The recovery takes forever, however, and she really needs his computer to work.

    Because the hard disk may be damaged in any case, I am considering buying a new hard drive and install in the Toshiba.

    How can I do this without a recovery disk, though?
    The old drive was a partition recovery on it, I think, but this seems useless with a new drive.
    Operating system is Windows 7 64 bit home edition.

    The product key is on the bottom of the laptop.
    I live in Turkey and so I don't think there is a Toshiba store is close.
    There are individual computer stores, so I'm confident, I can buy a new internal hard drive (I could find the sata dock here), but he must know what to do to install the software, etc.

    Thank you!
    Chris

    > How can I do this without a recovery disk, though?

    You either have the recovery disk or you are going to install the system using the Microsoft Windows disk.
    The necessary drivers are in internet on Toshiba UE page.

    The recovery disc can also be ordered here:

  • How to use the recovery with a new ssd disk after the death of original hard drive

    I thought I had a simple fix/upgrade for my dv5 - 2077cl.

    decided to replace the defective hard drive with an SSD. couldn't afford a 240 GB size but it's big enough for my needs.

    I installed the new drive easily and cycled through my 4 recovery disc reinstall the minimum overlap. After you delete the last record, the screen goes gray and there is a cursor in the top left corner for more than 10 hours.

    I finally it turned off and tried again two times the same results. I removed the DDI and run disk management on it from my other laptop and an external cable to remove the partiion and create a single partition. Tried to install windows xp on a disk that I own this isn't an update or restore disc thinking I might switch to windows 7 32 bit because I own and upgrade the disks also. even if it is a 64-bit system, but I do not have any disk 64-bit except the recovery disks that didn't seem to work.

    When I ran the xp it seemed to work but then I got the blue screen that said there is no drivers for the SDS (the error is as follows stop0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0XC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000))

    So I guess I need to have a windows 7 install disk rather than the recovery discs?

    the SSD is a Silicon Power S70 240 GB.

    any suggestions?

    Recovery discs usually require a hard drive of equal or greater capacity. XP doesn't have SATA drivers Sockets.

    If you can read the Microsoft Windows 7 of 25-character license key, you can download a Windows 7 ISO file to burn to a DVD or USB flash drive. The version must match that's installed on your PC as shown on the sticker COST Microsoft fixed on the bottom of the laptop. Like Windows Home Premium.

  • Windows 7 recovery with advanced format failed drive without SP1

    I have a dv6-2150us and the hard drive has failed.  I bought a new drive and ran the recovery disks.  Unfortunately a lot of features does not work on a disc format in Windows 7 without SP1.  The main feature is that Windows update doesn't stop me from upgrading to SP1.  I've tried a lot of difficulties to Windows update and downloaded SP1 from the Microsoft site, but all fail to install because update does not work.

    Any advice?  I tried to install an ISO cool Windows 7 SP1 which works fine, but I'd rather not pay for an OS that I already own.  My windows license key does not work with Windows 7 SP1 install.

    dv6guy,

    There the HP recovery discs actually failed to install? The recovered installation fails to boot completely or correctly. Or installation retrieved not only has risks with Windows Update or other software?

    If the recovery is complete, and you can enter Windows please try to use ABR Beta with Windows 7 Support to save the installed HP OEM SLP keys and certificate of HP OEM SLP. Once you have these, save the complete record of ABR to an external location, such as a USB key. Then, install Windows 7 SP1 to your ISO fresh. Do not enter a product key when asked and do not allow any Windows try to activate the computer. Now, restore the key and the certificate to your new installation of Windows 7 SP1. Verify that Windows is activated. Post back and let us know if it succeeded or failed

  • HP dv6-2150us + Windows 7 64 bits + quick launch problem

    I have a new install of WIndows 7 64 bit on my HP dv6-2150us, and now there is a problem with the Quiclaunch buttons. Before my reformatting to get a clean install of windows 7, the quick launch buttons has worked, after the installation of the new, I have a problem. The problem is that pressing the volume buttons or button mute are not any notification on the screen. I can adjust the volume from the keys, but no statement is displayed (I need to check the volume slider in the bar of tasks to see how I increased or decreased it). Mute works also but still no notification.

    I installed all necessary drivers and the problem does not reolved. I wonder if windows 7 is somehow blocking notifications or if it's a problem with the application of buttons?
