HP DV6 Envy: My desire to HP dv6 wake mode 'sleep'

I've had this computer for a long time, and he was never able to wake mode "Eve".  I tried all the things in the help file, and nothing works.  The keyboard is activated. all updates have been installed.  When he sleeps, the only thing I can do is to restart.  It has been 1 day.  With all my previous laptops, I started it with the lid closed to get everthing charge while I'm doing something else.  I can't do it with this computer.  It was a minor annoyance and I finally decided to find out what was wrong.

  • HP Envy laptop - 15-ae011na: HP Envy - keyboard and Trackpad not working after the mode 'sleep'.

    HP Envy laptop - 15-ae011na

I have this laptop for only 1 week, he did various updates. I guess that's from Windows 8 to 8.1. He also completed an update of the BIOS with HP Support Assistant.

Question: When the awakening of my laptop mode 'sleep', my trackpad and keyboard do not work, I have unlock my PC using HP Simple pass, then press the power button to restart the machine.

Troubleshooting: I followed some advice for troubleshooting on the support page which lead me to uninstall the keyboard driver then restart my machine. I have all the latest drivers aswell.

Someone has an idea what might be causing the problem? Ideally, I'd like to do a restore or upgrade of Windows 10 immediately.

    Thank you.

Looks like this has been caused some my driver problem with Windows 8.1 and I guess that's with HP SimplePass such that it would not recognize the keyboard and the trackpad after waking up to use it.

I have upgraded to Windows 10 that looks like a solved the problem.

  • Often fingerprint reader stops working after laptop wakes from sleep (Pavilion dv6)

I am convinced that the fingerprint reader is fine. There must be a problem with the driver may, something inconsistent with a recent update of the Windows 7 software?

    The scenario:

    • Laptop works very well.  I put on standby when I'm done and use the mousepad to wake him up.  LED fingerprint reader blinks, and I can drag my finger to log on.
    • At one point, after a few times to put the laptop to sleep and wake, the fingerprint reader does not.  No flashing.  I slide my finger and the player does not respond at all - is not yet tell me that there was a bad reading.
    • If I login and log back in again, no change. However, if I do a reboot, everything is fine - the fingerprint reader works again.

I watched over and over again for new drivers and installed.  Nothing seems to affect this scenario.   Unfortunately, this has started to happen about 9 months ago () and because of the sporadic nature of it, I was not attentive enough to know the 'precise' point in time when it started happening.  My instincts tell me that there was some sort of update software/driver along the way which is originally the fingerprint reader not do not work right.  I hope HP continues a relationship with these companies to fingerprint reader and can transmit these questions so that we can do a software update.  But... I don't know if it has been abandoned.  My laptop is still under warranty, but it would be ridiculous to send in just this problem.

I hope that someone has heard of this on the dv6 and may know a solution.  Thank you!

My system is a HP dv6-6145dx.  I am running Windows 7, with the latest updates.  The integrated fingerprint reader works on HP Simple pass 2011 v5.1 and Validity Sensor driver 4.3.205.0 version.  When I try to launch the Simple passage interface, it loads the database, but then the application disappears.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software, but makes no difference with the issue, I noted.

"If you keep an open mind, life will give you more opportunities."

No problem, I am completely I shouldn't bother with Pass Simple version 8.  I advanced and installed version 6.  I did not yet get no joy, so I did a little more digging and found one more late Validity Sensor driver, version 4.3.304 (not noted in the list of update driver for my laptop model).  IT WORKED.  I can now go into hibernation and the fingerprint reader remains functional when the system is out of hibernation.  Previously, it was pretty much guaranteed became disabled.  So... it looks that my problem is now solved.

  • Update caused HP DV6 to lose sleep and hibernation of the functions

My almost new DV6 comes from losing the ability to sleep or Hibernate.

This occurred only after an update online systematic HP and I cured the problem by restoring my system to the last restore point before the update from HP.

The symptoms of the error was that the computer will turn off if left unattended, would otherwise freeze when the cover is closed, who need support for 5 seconds the start button to thaw it (i.e. turn off!)

I know that this problem was caused by an update of HP as settled the problem of restoring the system.

How can I make sure that HP do not for me even once?

Is there a way I can report to HP?

I suspect that you have installed HP Support Assistant. To avoid this situation, you can uninstall this software or change the deafult settings. How do you change them?

Use HP Support Assistant and choose " settings ".

Change ' check and install all updates (recommended) automatiquement.*. '

to ' do not check updates. ' or " Check but let me decide who once to install.* " and confirm your choice by clicking " OK ".

  • HP ENVY M7-N109DX: IF MODE 'SLEEP'?

How can I tell if my computer sleeps o justr, display is off visually?

I think that the answer could be that the power light flashes when the computer is in sleep.

    Holly

    @Holly2

You can control sleep and separately the modes of display in Control Panel > icon > Power Options - in many cases people set the screen turns off until the computer falls actually in the mode "sleep".

And, yes - computer sleeping 'flashes' its power light.

Depending on how you have set it up, click you briefly on the power button to wake the computer or move the mouse (external).

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support for a solution to your printer problem.

I understand that when you try to print from your Android on your HP ENVY 4500 e-all-in-one printer printing wake mode 'sleep' to print. I would like to help with that.

I would start by checking the firmware of the printer. This document can help this - getting updates to printer for HP ENVY 4500 e-all-in-One Printer Series.

Secondly, I would like to try following the steps listed in this document of support to help with printing from Android devices - Troubleshooting Mobile issues when using print Mopria Print Service.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 notebook intermittent failure of keyboard

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 notebook, 1 year old.  Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 8 GB of Ram.  I have an external wired keyboard (Logitech K120) and a separate wireless mouse.  Frequently in the past few weeks, I noticed that the keyboard will fail once the laptop worked for a while, usually when the laptop is in "sleep".  I hear by fails, * TWO * external and the internal keyboard.  Nor will respond to any strikes at all.  Mouse control is fine, even when the keyboard has failed.

If I rebooted the system, it works well again.

I think that when I saw this before, I tried to disconnect the external keyboard, but that doesn't matter, because the integrated keyboard does not work or the other.

I guess this could result from certain automatic Windows driver installation or upgrade?  Does anyone have advice for the diagnosis or verification of current drivers?

I have just closed the lid of the laptop, to force the machine mode 'sleep'.  When I opened the lid, the system has taken over, I can log in via the scanner digital, the mouse works but the keyboard has disappeared.  I had to reboot the system, update this message.

    fmaurais,

    Try the following steps:

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Power Options-> change Plan (of the current plan selected) settings-> change the advanced power settings-> parameter of selective suspension of USB-> Disable (both)

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Power Options-> change Plan (of the current plan selected) settings-> change the advanced power settings-> PCI-Express-> Link State Power Management-> Disable (both)

I read on a Microsoft page that is who can solve some problems "out of sleep."

    computerwhiz90,

I'll see if I can get a model of your laptop to see if I can reproduce the problem.

    Hello:

The hardware ID you posted is present in this driver... that this driver is the only one I know.

    [AVerMedia.NTamd64]
    %AVerAF15.DeviceDesc.A309% = AVerAF15.Device, USB\VID_07CA & PID_A309

See if it works... Download and install this free utility for files.  2nd listed file is 64-bit.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

After installing 7 - zip, download, save, but do not run the driver file I posted again.

Right-click on sp45500 and select 7 - zip from the list.

Have 7-zip extract of: and leave it to decompress the file in its folder.

Now, once 7-Zip has done this, right click on the A316A, the etc file and run 7 - zip to decompress this file in its folder.

Then open that folder and right click on the A309_Win7Logo, etc., drop and have extracted 7 - zip this file in a folder.

Then, open this folder and open the OUTDIR folder and open the folder to Vista x 64.

Again, do a right click on the Setup file and have 7 - Zip to decompress this file in its folder.

Now that you have finished with this...

Go to Device Manager and click on the device USB\VID_07CA & PID_A309, who need the pilot.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.

Select her browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the file sp45500 that 7-Zip created.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and see if the pilot goes like this.

    Then restart the PC.
