  • music file will not play in second hard drive double click Error "" the requested operation requires a rise ".

Original title: music file won't play second hard drive by double click.

    Windows 7 ultimate/64

I have a second hard drive on which I store my music files. If I open a player (Foobar is what I use now) and open the music file in the program, he plays very well, since the second HD.

But if I double click on the music file (.mp3, usually), I get the message:

"The requested operation requires a rise."

I think it should open in the player by default when I do that.

I remember well, it wasn't the case when I started to use this computer (it's fairly new), while something might have changed.
I have the .mp3, .wav etc all default extensions for the Foobar player program.

I went through elaborate measures to appropriate the entire disk and have granted full permissions for me as a user, following to the letter one of the many sites of the detailed instructions for this operation. But there is no help in sight.
Original title: music file won't play second hard drive by double click

So I can let my reader opens a music file leave a second drive, but I can't call him by double click or click right/context citing the player. When I do that, nothing happens, but I don't get the message "requires a rise."

Every time I think that I am getting to know Windows 7, something like this happens. Avoid to receive life dull, of course.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I've pretty much exhausted my own attempts.

Update: I think I've solved the problem. I have no idea that what caused it, but here's what fixed it:

1 uninstalled Foobar with usual Control Panel uninstall
2A through the startup disk everything and delete folders or files with the name "foobar" in them.
3 did the same for the registry (creating a point of restoration first, of course)
    4 restarted
    5 download and install Foobar.

    Yes.

    Works very well.

A big thank you to all who responded.

  • Lightroom does not recognize the external hard drive?

When I try to import files from anywhere - my office, or a SD - card in Lightroom 4 or now 6 (updated just to see if it would help), Lightroom is the photo file in what I would call an external hard drive of ghost. It creates a second external hard drive file that seems to be a copy of the original. A few weeks ago, the name of external hard drives has been accidentally changed or partially erased when I backup my hard drive without supervision in Time Machine. I'm working on an iMac with OS 10.11.4. At that time there Lightroom could not find any of my files of course! So, I renamed with much attention the hard drive exactly the same original name and Lightroom everything very well - recognized except, I started having this problem of import. When I import a file of the photo, he put it in an external hard drive of Ghost with the same name, size and number of files. If I try to move the file to the real external hard drive where it is supposed to go, Lightroom told me that the file already exists in Lightroom. If I look in my external drive outside of Lightroom, the file is where it is supposed to be. I tried just 'Add' the file to Lightroom, rather than copy or move, and that's okay. I tried to re-pointing Lightroom on your drive. Does not work. The only way I can get the files to go where I want they is to import, then highlight the recently imported file and move it to the folder of the mother. So, I have to move the file into the folder of the mother in the subfolder and then delete the now empty ghost the disk folder manually hard phantom. Help! Is there a way to merge the external hard drive with his ghost (or duplicate)? I can't find anything in the forums or documentation, and when I tried to call tech support, I came across a brick wall which is very frustrating. They said I couldn't get help by phone, I have to use the forums. So, please, let me know what I can try.

    Hello Deborah

Seems to me this is probably a problem of conflict with the readers in your catalog and LR is confusing where to put images and creates a clone instead. You have to work smart to get rid of the clone disk keeping the images with the same folder structure. If it's a long process, however, I'll try to be as simple as I could.

To do a test at White folder on the drive itself out of Lightroom that must be maintained at the same place where the main images folder (main folder means - the very first folder under your player in your catalogue which should include all subfolders on the disc itself), then put a picture in the test folder and import it. the test folder will be part of the new drive of clone in catalog you would then move the main folder of the Original disc to the Clone drive in your catalog. Once you are done with the displacement of all the structures of folders in the test under drive clone folder. The original drive that was not identified by Lightroom would be gone if this isn't the case you can remove it manually and this is how you would leave with single drive with all your files/images existing and if you try to import the images now. They would go directly in the same destination folder that you choose on the screen to import instead of going in any drive clone/ghost.

Thanks Deborah for bringing This issue to our view. And I amso glad I was able to solve this problem for you on call.

  • Recovery disks will not recognize my new hard drive

Original title: why I can not reformat my upgrded from vista to w7 disk

I can't reformat my vista upgraded to windows 7, as I tried to add another hard drive, which will not take my recovery disks. The message to reboot

You try to add an additional hard drive or you try to replace the current hard drive with a new one?

Recovery/restore disks are specific to OEM (made by the manufacturer that also makes your computer) unless you are lucky enough to actually have on the contrary an OEM copy of the operating system in question (Windows Vista I guess) and it is bootable and will guide you through a real installation of the operating system and not a "restore image."  What means what, is supported by the OEM in question for the method - no Microsoft.

Now - you may be able to perform a new installation of Windows 7 using the Windows 7 upgrade media you have - depending on how you got it...?

  • Equium L20-264, do not recognize the removable hard drive

Can anyone help. I haven't bought a nice no notebook on the weekend and you want to get the stuff to my Lacie hard drive that I use on my mac to work on.

Last night I plugged the drive (USB with PSU) and messages little came "new device found" then "works and is ready to use" However he didn't appear in the list of drive in the my computer window. Went to Device Manager and found it listed checked there, he worked and what everything was soft but still no joy to be able to find it or mount it or access it. I tried all the suggestions help, and eventually just turned it off.

Also, for some reason, it lists the location as 0 istead of as USB 2 or whatever port when I plug another accessory, this would have something to do with it? I need to rename the disk or something?

    Can anyone help?

    GATS

    Hi the GATS.

I'm not too knowledgable about MACs, but I think they use a different file for computers structure and that the files can be copied directly to a PC without first being "converted" to make them compatible. I also suspect that your Lacie is formatted to be used with a MAC, and therefore your XP operating system may not identify as a hard drive so does not show in my computer.

I think you can get some freeware to convert your MAC files, then I suggest Googling to see what you can find.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite L305D-S5881 does not recognize the new HARD drive

Ok. I've had this laptop for a while now.
It crashed recently. So, I tried to start it up.
I got "Winload.exe missing or damaged".

Fortunately, I found an answer to this!
I got the Vista installation disc and inserted.
I had this "PAGE_ERROR_IN_NONPAGED_AREA". I fixed too. Stick of 1 GB of RAM to my computer was bad.

So I replaced it. And during the installation, it hangs. And beeps and undesirable.
So I thought it was my hard drive. I have a new. (http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/adet.to?poid=431567 please TAKE a LOOK BEFORE RESPONDING).

I (try) to install and it does nothing.
I turn it on and it goes to this page with as my enthernet info. Then I go into the BIOS and it appears. I think I could install it wrong.

    Any help?

    Hello

I think that the new HARD drive is not recognized, because you have not installed the SATA drivers!
The new mobile phones support the new SATA controller and especially the drivers are not included in the Windows operating system.

So, you must first include the SATA drivers before install you the operating system.
AFAIK the L305D supports an AMD and ATI chipset and SATA drivers must be placed in the ATI graphics driver package.

On the other hand, you could install the operating system without the use of SATA drivers.
I think that the BIOS must contain the SATA mode option. Usually it s set to AHCI. Pass this option in compatibility mode and you should be able to install the operating system.

    Cheers mate

  • Windows 7 does not recognize the external hard drive

A WD My Book external hard drive of 2 TB, Windows 7 Pro icon does not appear in the computer but saw the external hard drive
in devices and printers. Right-click on the icon, no data on the volume, indicates that it works correctly. How can I access and recover
the data on this external hard drive?

Someone ran Testdisk and it couldn't find a partition. It might spoil the hard disk being the day the Date 07/07/2013
    Testidisk was executed.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! The data is lost forever? Thank you.

    There is no partition inside?

You can create partitions on the disk management
type of handle on the search box to the start menu, open the computer management go to disk management
You should see your disk and associated empty data and you can create a partition for it
