  • SD card not recognized by Windows 7 SP1 (Home edition), 32-BIT on HP Compaq 610.

SD card is not recognized when I insert it. He used to work earlier, but due to a problem, I had to get it reformatted and now it has stopped working. There is no automatic detection for it. Also, I'm not able to determine if it is listed in Device Manager, not sure, under which entry, should I put to update the driver. I have laptop HP Compaq 610. Please suggest what all can be tried.

Your driver card reader should be under USB controllers.  If she is not there, you've lost your license, or the drive has failed.  Visit the Compaq website to get a new driver.  If it still does not work, he probably missed and which is not uncommon.

You can buy a reader of SD cards for less than $10.

  • Canon EOS 400 d/XTi not recognized on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

When I plug my Canon 400 d on Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate N, Windows detects a new device which is indicated under "Devices and printers", "Not specified" as "Digital camera Canon", but it fails to load/install the drivers to make it functional.

    Hardware ID are:

    USB\VID_04A9 & PID_3110 & REV_0002
    USB\VID_04A9 & PID_3110

Is there no workaround solution to manually tell Windows to use a generic driver.
I also installed the software of my Canon Solution Disk Canon (and - later - same Canon EOS Utility 2.6.1 upgrade) does not.

As mentioned above, you can use Windows Virtual PC.  On my Win 7 64 bit, it was already installed.  Maybe it was a result of the optional updates of windows I've done.  There should be a folder in 'Start-> all programs' near the bottom of the list.  Select "Windows XP mode" here.  If you do not, just Google for "Windows Virtual PC" and d/load for free on the MS site of.  Installation is quite simple.  Then start Windows XP virtual session.  It will take time to given itself the first time you run, but in the end that it will look and function exactly like Win XP in a window and it will be able to run most, if not all, older programs that do not work under Win 7 including EOS utility.  There, you can install the Windows XP drivers for your EOS camera from Canon site.  Restart the session Win XP (and not on your computer), connect your camera and on top of the virtual screen XP, you will see the USB pull down.  Under USB, you should see Canon digital camera.  Select 'home '.  If it works, you know that the driver is correctly installed.

Then install your EOS Utility (in your session Virtual PC XP, of course), do the update of the site of Canon, and all features are available.  Including the command remotely via the USB port.

PS You can install EOS utility update even if you do not have the original CD.  Update is complete installation.  It simply checks if EOS utility has never been installed before.  And it's just a metter of a coupe of parameters in the registry to trick the it.  Google for 'EOS Utility installation' and you can find it.

    Good luck!

  • Yoga Pro 2 - display not recognized in windows (hardware or driver problem?)

Out of warranty by a month!

Yoga Pro 2-256 gb, installed a new wireless card a month ago. Windows 8.1

The touchscreen still work while the screen is black.

System restarted after the mode 'sleep', in my opinion.

The Lenovo logo is displayed, seems to load Windows, but when windows loads (I don't see it so it is a hypothesis of load) drafts of the screen and the black light is on.

Can I connect an external monintor that connects after the return from sleep mode (odd). Who then off the backlight.

When the external monitor, the internal screen is not yet recognized by windows.

When I boot in safe mode, the internal display works fine with of course limited capabilities.

I rebooted on the support site display drivers.

Right now my internal monitor is not recognized by windows and is dark, and I can use an external monitor.

Someone at - he of the clues as to what my happen? Hardware, driver etc?

    Can what information I provide?

It is a pretty weird problem with contradictory observations.

    (1) screen working in Mode safe but not regular boot. (So not the hardware problem)

    (2) display on an external monitor in normal mode. (So, no drivers issue)

Have you installed the wireless card yourself? You unplug the cable from the screen during the installation of the card?

Could you re - open and check that all connections are good?

The Wi - Fi card works well?

I also recommend a complete reset of the laptop to eliminate the possibility that it is a corrupt driver. You can use the NOVO button to reset your laptop. Make sure you make a backup on an external drive for your personal files.

  • I have a problem with the passoword not recognized on Windows 7.

Original title: password not recognized by Windows 7

    Hello

My father has a Windows 7 PC. He wants access to his PC with a password. After you set the password for the account in the configuration, it is not possible to use the password login; the answer is that the password is not correct. When I then log on to the computer with a different account, and try to reset my fathers a non administrator account password, I ask myself to use my user name of fathers and provide the password for my account of fathers (he is administrator). When I enter the password, it is accepted as correct. How can I set a password for my fathers account and use it to open a session? Are the different passwords for 1 account?
Please note that it uses a personal account with administrator rights. The computer has been scanned for viruses with Norton 360 several times.

    Kind regards

    Steafn

This type of problem is caused by one of the following reasons:

    • CapsLock is on
    • NumLock is on
    • You have more than one keyboard language installed. When the session opened, a different card is used subsequently. Use a password that is insensitive to the evolution of your cards. Start by '123456' confidence.
  • Stor.e slim not recognized by Windows 8.1

    Hello

A Stor.e slim external HARD drive is not recognized in Windows 8.1 (no problem with Windows 7). When it is plugged in, it s shown as a device not recognized. Driver is requested but not found.

    Hello

Stor.E Slim external HARD drive is a 2.5 HDD USB 3.0 and 900mA power it requires to work correctly.

I suppose that there is nothing wrong with this HARD drive, but with your laptop.

8/8.1 win requires different drivers and you will probably need to install a suitable driver in order to get the USB ports work correctly (USB 3.0 as well as the driver additional chipset would be also necessary).

  • Optical drive is not recognized in Windows 8.1 (x 64) or in the UEFI System Diagnostics.

    Description of the problem:

Optical drive is not recognized in Windows 8.1 (x 64) or in the UEFI System Diagnostics.

    Steps to recreate:

    UEFI:

    1. Start the PC in diagnosis system UEFI (F2 at the STATION)
    2. Pane controls
    3. Optical drive
    4. Sequential control
    5. Error: Optical drive not installed.

    8.1 Windows (x 64):

    1. Run Device Manager
    2. Error: No CD/DVD Drives section.
    3. Search for new hardware changes nothing.

    Relevant system specs:

Mobile: HP Pavilion 15-n023sa (construction of vanilla)

    Optical drive: HP DVDRAM gu70n

    Steps already taken to solve:

    • Replaced the DVD drive with one of the similar specs of HP Pavilion. The replaced gn70n perfectly in the other machine. No change on problem laptop. Conclusion: DVD player works, and there is no problems with Windows 8.1 (x 64).
    • Removed DVD player. Restarted the computer. Sign in to Windows. Stop. Replace the DVD drive. Start the laptop. This is trying to solve defects of material with the PnP devices; more help to solve any problems of intermittent loose connection. Conclusion: No change.
    • Ran, troubleshooting of hardware and devices, via the control panel. Problem found: material changes may not have been detected. Explore more options just takes you through http://social.answers.microsoft.com/search/en-us/?query=hardware+device, that it is a 404 error page. Conclusion: Help and Support Windows is sorely lacking. They show no more information than just that something was detected as incorrect.
    • Ran the Microsoft FixIt troubleshooting of optical disc and auto repairman. (http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/5/8/F586FB7C-78E0-40EB-AF41-4C925F803CAF/CDDVDWin8.meta.dia... The convenience store has reported that the device was not found. He recommended to remove all power cables, power off, and various other things which have no relevance for computer laptop troubleshooting of switching equipment. He said: If the problem persists, contact the manufacturer. Conclusion: Windows troubleshooting can not solve the problem.
    • Run Windows Update to ensure that all updates and definitions have been installed. Conclusion: Windows is perfectly up to date.
    • Run a complete Rootkit and malware using Sbybot S & D 2.3 heuristic analysis. as a signature database scan using Windows Defender. Conclusion: Laptop is clean of rootkits and malware, to the best of my knowledge.

    Notes:

The DVD player is NOT appear in Device Manager, OR in this PC.

The DVD drive is NOT detected by diagnostics system UEFI.

There is reference to the DVD in BIOS drive NUMBER , other than as an option of Setup, which is generic.

The DVD player itself, works and has been verified on a different machine.

The only possible conclusion is that the optical drive port mini-SATA on the motherboard is dead.
