HP Elitebook 8570p: GPU Upgrade for p 8570

Hello

I want to update the graphics card of my p 8570.

CPU: Intel i7 3740QM 2.70 GHz with integrated Intel® HD Graphics 4000

GPU: AMD Radeon HD M 7570

What are the possibilities are available?

I could possibly run an external graphics card?

Thank you

It's worse than you think. The above specifications are for the 8570w, which is a different machine. The 8570p welded on video, whether discrete or integrated. So basically, there is no upgrade except the motherboard swap whole. It doesn't have an MXM slot. And there is no external video option on this generation of equipment that deserves to be discussed.

Your laptop doesn't have a removable/replaceable MXM video card so the answer is 'no', you cannot install a different visual system.

    Hello

You might want to consider requirements for Battlefield 3.

The minimum power for video cards AMD is 400 watts and the power supply of your PC is only 350 watts.  You need to upgrade the PSU.

As for a map video, I recommend the AMD Radeon 6850. It's $130 after rebate. You shouldn't have any problems ranging from medium to high heat with a screen resolution of 1600 by 900. PSU Corsair CX500 is adequate for the AMD Radeon 6850.  It is $40 after rebate.

These "how-to" HP articles should be helpful with the physical facilities.

Oh, for the replacement of your hard drive, this Western Digital 750 GB 3.5 "Sata hard drive $ 70 is an excellent price.

You're right, this isn't something that can be fixed with a BIOS update, it is not specified for this.

  • Graphics upgrade for older core i3 X 51

Thanks for confirming this. You might consider a NVidia GTX 660 or an AMD, Radeon R9 270. Both are validated GPU upgrades for your Alienware X 51 R1 system.

  • M18x R2 CPU/GPU upgrade help

Lately I experienced an annoying problem.  I go to play a game like age of empires III, which shouldn't be a problem, but after a few minutes, the screen goes black and the only way to make it work is to reboot by pressing the power button.  My M18xx R2 has had some problems before, so I recently replaced the discs and did a clean installation of Windows 7 Pro.   I thought that might be the GPU?

I ran stress tests on the CPU and the GPU via Support help and all this goes well.

My processor is a Core i7 3740QM and I have 2 gtx 675M popular with sli.

1 can I upgrade to GTX 680 M without worrying about updated drivers using the or overheating?  Meaning is it plug and play?

    2. What CPU can I upgrade to that would be taken and play. I do not overclock.  I thought Intel i7 3840QM.

    Thank you

Here's the Alienware-tested (read: plug-and-play) GPU upgrades for the m18xR2.

    • HD 7970 m
    • GTX 680 m

Something more recent requires some work.

I would not upgrade your CPU if you don't plan on overclocking. The i7-3840QM is a good enough in itself.

Hi, I need help finding a driver AHCI (Windows XP) to my Elitebook 8570p. I want to use Windows 7 and XP on it, but I can't install windows XP in AHCI mode. I tried to use the driver that is posted here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/HP-Elitebook-8570p-Windows-XP-p... but that did not work for me. I just get screen blue when I try to install, I tried all 4 verisions of the pilot, but none works. I boot on the dvd and press f6 to add the driver before installing, but I need some other driver...

The complete model number is: B6Q05EA #AK8

    Help, please

    Hello:

I have attached the drivers you need below.

You can either their wake by reading the info on the link below (section (Intel), and then read the info on how to integrate all the drivers from the downloadable PDF document.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/SATA-drivers-for-XP-solution-on-0x0000007B-BSOD/m-p/114120/highlight/true#M17758

If you want to install the individual driver with the floppy drive then use your up/down arrow keys to scroll through until you find the Intel (r) 7 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller.

Make sure that you scroll in both directions in the window, because a lot of people complain that they cannot find the driver in the window.  It's here - top or bottom of the initial view.

This is the driver SATA AHCI specific needs of your laptop.

  • Upgrades for the 8900 XPS GPU

My machine shipped today and I'm planning a GPU upgrade.  I have currently a 2 GB GTX 750 Ti in my old system and you want to stick with nVidia.  I think I need to go at least to a boost 4 GB GTX 960 or 970 to get a decent life.  Don't want to spend a lot because their architecture Pascal will come out next year...

What power connectors GPU the PSU 8900 comes with?  What upgrades GPU are you thinking, and the stock PSU it will manage?

In general, I think that the graphics card for the 8900 updates will follow what works on the 8700.

Best I can tell, the 8900 has the same power supply as the 8700, and there are six pins of the PCI slots.

Here is a very long list of what has worked and not worked in 8700 s.

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3515/t/19611037

The cliff notes are THAT GTX 960 will work with the Stock PSU.

Some become GTX 970 s work with the stock power supply, but this is (in my opinion) more load the stock power supply can provide.

I have a 760 GTX, a GTX 770 and a GTX 970 and the 970 is a significantly better graphics, especially with A-list games. The 770 is good but there are still a few tears and artifacts when all the pleasure of the eyes is set to ultra.

If your resolution is 1080 p that the 960 GTX is a good choice for the price of $200, but for the high-end gaming 970 GTX is an update worth it even if the cost of the PSU is taken into account.

    Gunner

    Hello:

The max is 8 GB per slot memory.

Your laptop has only two memory slots, the maximum memory is 16 GB.

The 8570w with the quad core processor can take 32 GB of memory because it has 4 memory slots.
