Then, I tried to download the drivers on HP's Support site. I discovered that there are two different drivers, one that is Intel Pro/WIreless and one which is Broadcom. I wasn't sure, but the descriptions made it seem like they needed them for work. I was not sure what order to install, so I tried the two, making a return system restore to before the driver facilities. I also tried each one on its own. No matter what, I still have errors, if he even showed the Wireless icon in the tray at all. I also noticed that there are two versions of the HP Wireless Assistant, 2.0, and 3.0, I think. What drivers do I need? Do I need or I have the HP Wireless Assistant? What version? In what order should I install everything? I'm doing something else wrong?

  Hi all!

  I think I found the solution after a little tinkering. I used the Driver Pack Solutions to install the wired ethernet driver, then connected to the internet and installed updates to Windows. I selected Custom and some updated hardware installed, and one of them was the wireless driver. After installing it, I installed the HP Wireless Assistant (V3.00 Rev D) and everything worked well and has since then! I had no error connecting to my network, and it is still connected after disconnection of the Ethernet.
