  I have the 6-1010sv envy and the left hinge broke. From what I've read in the forums, this is a very common problem.

  Right now I'm looking for my repair options.

  I called the phone number, I found in the forums and they said since it is a guarantee out product I could not send to Hp (?) and suggested to visit a store (Bestbuy) for technical support. (BTW Best buy does not offer this kind of support...)

  In addition, my laptop was bought from the Greece and they suggested to contact hp Greece for more options (!). The thing is that I live in the USA and I don't understand why I can't have tech support here in the United States.

  Does anyone know how can I fix my laptop? Centres of local authorized repair maybe?

  Have the same problem of hinge like so many others.

  Model laptop is HP Envy 1006ea 6 - Sleekbook

  Hinge began to crack, so before it is gone completely, a small amount of glue had been applied to other damage preent.

  Following this same problem, I had to replace the screen, as the hinges were therefore again, the screen cracked on the opening, and it has already cost £ 60. (I thought that I had to pay it as it was out of warranty)

  Please let know us what you are able to do, as the laptop is literally now falling apart, with wires hanging out and can't be moved/open/closed.

  I wonder what to do - I regularly use this laptop and now a hinge broke. It has not yet been completely, but I'm afraid that it will be soon. It is still covered by the warranty?   Same problem here, the right hinge is broken. He broke some time ago, but now it is getting worse. I guess because it is a matter of construction, I see a lot of people have the same problem (under warranty) and Toshiba does not.

• 4 ultrabook split of irrelevant of envy hinged cover

  Hi, I have a HP Envy 4 Ultrabook that I bought a while back - was not a year yet. He was perfectly fine but today when I opened my screen, I heard a snapping or clicking noise and saw that my left hinge was slightly out of place, and the side of the lid broke up a bit and there is a small opening between the screen and the bezel cover. It does seem like a really important thing but my cover is quite risky, and when I do the split becomes wider. and I fear that my laptop my suffer even more. I would appricate any kind of help and also if someone knows if it is possible to fix my own or if I have to get it fixed and about how it would be. See you soon!

  I had the same problem with my desire to 6 t-1000. The left hinge is very loose, and when I opened my laptop, the frame surrounding the broken screen. Fortunately, after calling HP, it is covered by the warranty and if all goes well they can fix. I think that making the hinges was made at a great price.

  I guess I'm not alone in this, but last nightwhile closing my laptop the hinge of the screen on the left decide to break up. Is to use a portable 2-year-old who becomes really minimal. What is the solution?

• 4520 envy: how to open this 'thing'?

  Implementation with limited instructions. I do slide tray, align the guides, and then load paper. Downstairs is a door that the length of the unit. Opening that stuff but I don't see you enter.  Just above inside the door, is a biased piece of plastic that seems to be emerging. There is a dash but no place to enter anything to slide out. Once I do that I can load the paper and the ink, and then print.   Printers usually have a marked place to understand to sliding.

  Looking at it, I see not where going to copy page, and it comes out where?  The guided slide tray keeps paper I think.  This thing is heavy to move when you lie on your side in the bed and it's on a table next to you. I hope I won't have to move

  I had finally opened it.  None of the answers here were right or is that guide users.  The tray door down. Use you it as a handle and pull open. It must be on a flat surface or, like mine, it won't open.  I have a piece of cardboard to sit there and now it opens next is to install ink and then print. Thanks to all who tried to help. I think that the guide should be updated.  I have not yet found her pull a plastic guide to catch the printed paper

  Left hinge of my laptop broke up recently. I am able to open and close the lid, the screen is OK, but I am worried if I'm damaging more everytime I open and close it. I am still under warranty. I tried calling HP but no response. Pointers?

  If you are out of warranty, you can fix it yourself like hmmmmmm, pay an another repair shop or person to solve this problem, or call HP and send it to repair.

  I have a HP envy laptop and the left hinge is broken.

  It's just more under warranty and I just spoke with HP and they told me there is nothing they can do because it is not an error known on their system.

  I looked in the forums of HP and he doesn't seem to be a problem with these models

• HP Pavilion DV6-3052TX left hinge broke

  I have purchaced HP DV6-3052TX, Jun 2010. During the warranty period, I heard "thuck" sound crackling while opening & closing the lid near the left hinge. I went to HP Service Center to get it repaired, but they do not have to set properly. But now the top panel is detached from the base Panel when I just opened the cover and the left hinge seems to be dislocated. This problem occurs again and again, for most users that clearly indicates the manufacturing defect. I have found so many cases on the Internet (some of them are on the Web site of the consumer forum and some are here on the website of HP support forum) who explained the same hinge broken with pattern are also the same problem. I have invested 60K /-for my laptop, but now there is a defect in the design and there is no point in fixing the problem reappears again. Its really frustrating after having invested so what you get is a machine of defection. It is very annoying and not according to the standard of HP. As a customer of HP, we expect better quality.

  Discovered that the AC will work in the United States and the United Kingdom.

  Sent one with the laptop AC adapter.

  It takes just the cord with UK plug.

  The only other thing that can be a problem is there a USA keyboard. "' No English no Pound Sign."

  You can US ASCII code but it's a few key strokes.

  Or buy one and replace.
