  • Decommissioning of 8.1 for Windows Windows 7

    Hello

I just configured 4 HP 250 notebooks G2. They came with windows 7 Pro is installed and I used the recovery disks provided with the machines to be upgraded to 8.1.

The Manager I get their loan for now tells me that the software they want to run does not support 8.1 - the machine must be windows 7...

Can I do this downgrade with just the PC and the recovery discs (these are only 8.1)? Should a Windows 7 Pro installation media (I have it)?

    Thank you

    Robin

    @Robinaccio

The word from inside HP is that you can contact HP to order recovery media for 64-bit Windows 7 for the G2 of 250 HP.  Win7 SLP 2.1 is present in the BIOS for the activation of the operating system.

I recommend that you ask the usb recovery media. The cost should be about $25.00 USD.

  • HP Envy: Envy of HP 4520 all-in-one and Windows 10

    Hi team!

We purchased through amazon.de 4520 Envy HP all-in-one. Just tried to install and connect wirelessly to my HP Pavilion G6. Our laptop was free update Windows 10 about 6 months, he has also kindly invited by HP.

The installation of the HP Envy disc says it works with Windows 10. But the message from the HP site, says - it has not been tested with Windows 10 and they will not be drivers for Windows 10!

Please, help me and advise me - what I have to do, how to connect the two devices, the laptop can't find the all-in-one device? The test reports of test results wireless network went ok, no problems found. However, the printer is not finding by the laptop.

  • HP ENVY 17-N078CA laptop: seeking the machine with windows 8.1 - and the upgrade to 10.

    Hi all

I am looking at buying a machine to re-furb.

    HP ENVY 17-N078CA laptop

The machine has windows 8.1 and I wanted to know if there was problems with upgrade to windows 10.

    edillard

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about upgrading your PC to Win10 and wanted to help.

While HP has not tested your PC with Win10 and has not certified it will work, the good news is that HP does not provide drivers for your PC Win10: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-17-n000-notebook-pc-touch/7777355/model/8429748#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930O2

If this page does not display the windows 10 when you open it, then click Edit and select Windows 10 in the menu drop-down.

Unfortunately, the Win10 GoBack function is NOT reliable, and that can leave you with a corrupt machine that will require the factory reset and lose all that on it, to get it working again.

You can avoid this by making an image backup to an external hard drive or a USB drive using Macrium reflect (MR), which provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

If she has deleted this partition completely, you will need to use your recovery CD or USB key you created when you bought your laptop. Here is a link to use the HP Recovery Manager.

  • HP ENVY 700-049 will be not updated to Windows 8.1 - 0xC1900101 - 0 x 20018

I recently bought a HP Envy, office 700-049 and have updated to the most recent Windows 8.  I re-downloaded and installed all the drivers for Windows 8 listed on the support page.  I disabled the LAN wireless in Windows (no way to do it in the BIOS I can say).  After that, I went to the App Store Windows and ran the 8.1 update.  The machine restarts and begins to set up the devices, but stops before the end with the SYSTEM_THREAD EXCEPTION NOT_HANDLED error.

    On reboot I give myself

    0xC1900101 - 0 x 30018

It appears in Google... and I tried common recommendations (install updates, install the latest driver, disable WLAN)... y at - it additional suggestions or I'll just have to hang tight on MS to fix this?

My wrist is tired of bouncing over the shortcut bar. :-)

    Kind regards

    -Tony

Obviously, make sure you have the latest drivers and updates installed... but I managed to get through there.

I'm pretty sure that the Ralink Wireless card is the culprit.

In addition to the steps I have described here above I have disabled the integrated graphics card.  Also, I was going through a KVM.  I hooked the mouse, keyboard and monitor directly in... using the graphic adapter PCIx.   But I suspect that the following was "the miracle."

I had a set of screwdrivers on a small scale and a pair of pliers and took the Ralink wireless out.  It's just "above" where is the PCIx graphic card.  This screw was really in there... Please be very careful not not to strip out.  Once the screw is out, it appears out of the slot.  I just hid it near bays of drive.

With the offline wireless the 8.1 update succeeded.

  • HP ENVY 15-aq002no 360 x: after 10 deleted Windows app Intel Widi update birthday

Hi, I received my new HP ENVY x 360 Notebook 28 - Sep 2016 15-aq002no. He was quite old Windows 10 installed (earlier version of 2016). I wanted to leave the laptop to be as up-to-date as possible before making personal configurations and adding content. That is the content of the software for laptop is quite equal from the start of the day (28-sept.) except for Windows 10 updates.

I did the update of Windows 10 anniversary 29-Sep without checking whether it was wise or not to the HP support pages.

The laptop seems to work well after that the anniversary 10 Windows Update but it displays the following message is displayed:

"The app Intel (R) Widi has been removed from the computer because it did not work on this version of Windows." (translated from Windows 10 in Swedish language)

This problem may appear if the Intel(r) Widi app is not present?

    What is Intel(r) Widi app?

Is it possible to app update Intel(r) Widi that works with windows 10 anniversary update?

Should I wait to use Windows 10 anniversary update and restore the old Windows 10 laptop? (should be done within 10 days)

    Best regards, Johnny

    Hi, Johnny:

Try to project it on your TV using the app integrated with W10.

If this does not work, you can return to the previous version of the W10.

  • HP ENVY 700-210xt: how to reinstall after upgrade windows 10

I bought a HP ENVY 700 - 210xt delivered with Windows 8.1 and included a recovery for the same partition.  At one point last year, I used the free update of Microsoft to take the system up to 10 Windows.  As far as I know, it has no effect on the recovery partition.  Now, I met a hard drive problem, where the system will not start or recover.  My hypothesis is that I need to reinstall from scratch, but I have some problems.

    • If I order the HP recovery discs, they will be for Windows 8.1, but not my upgrade to Windows 10 invalidated the original license key?
    • If I get somehow 8.1 Windows reinstalled with the original key, can I still the free update me for Windows 10 of Microsoft?  I guess that their records show that I've already updated.
    • If I can't get this path to work, is there a direct way to return to Windows 10?  As part of the upgrade, I've never seen a new license key, but maybe it was and I never saw him.

    Thanks for any help!

You need a support SSD (like this) so he can climb properly.  I also was called to tie an SSD in the case from time to time... since it has no moving parts and is not fragile like hard drives disk.

  • HP ENVY 15-j050tx Notebook PC: can I partition Windows (c :)) by car?

My laptop details are given below:

    Operating system: Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Product name: HP ENVY 15-j050tx Notebook PC

    Model No.: F2C67PA

I have only two disks, C, and D.

Drive C is used for Windows and install other software. It has around 672 GB storage.

Impossible D drive used or consulted as it is a RECOVERY disk.

Some people recommend HP to store my data and personal files in the same drive where Windows is installed in the C drive, I fear in the case of corrupted Windows, my files of personal data would also be gone. I am thinking so to partition my C drive because it has around 672 GB and only 80% is not used.

    1. is it safe to partition C drive in which runs the Windows operating system?

    2. given that HP does not recommend partition, it creates problems for Windows to run with ease and efficiency?

    3. how to split the partition C drive?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    1. it's OK to divide c to create a partition for the data,

    2. I have not heard/read HP rexommendation. In my opinion, using tools HP to do a factory restore would eliminate all the plysical by car so no point to divide. And probably because that not sure people so how do not recommend you to do.

    3. Please follow the instructions below:

    Hello

Recently, I buy a HP ENVY x 360-computer laptop 15-u493cl, which came with pre-installed Windows 10. I need to have it running Windows 7 for work related purposes. Take the help of other Members here, I was able to do a clean install of WIndows 7 on the laptop and have gotten most of the drivers successfully.

Currently, I have a problem with the laptop keyboard and touchpad. They work but are acting weird. Whenver I type, much of the time, the cursor moves elsewhere on the line or a different line. Words/lines get chosen at random.

Wanted to know if anyone has seen this behavior before and have a resolution for this. I tried to use an external keyboard and that works fine, so I know its got to be pilot releated.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for joining the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is a great place to ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! I read your post on the Forums of HP Support.

I wanted to join you and help! I understand you downgraded the operating system on your HP ENVY x 360-15-u493cl Notebook PC 10 from Windows to Windows 7. Now, you have a problem with the keyboard and the Touchpad.

There's no drivers for Windows 7 systems and you lack some of the special features. Here is a linkso that you can understand your right to demotion (although it is said for Windows 8, it is the same for Windows 10).

Generally, if the WANT of HP x 360-15-u493cl Notebook PC does not get upgraded to Windows from another operating system and instead, 10 Windows 10 has been a new installation on the laptop, it is very difficult to return to a different operating system.

You can try to use the Microsoft Fix it tool: Microsoft provides an automatic diagnosis based on web and the claim for compensation. Go to the Microsoft Web site hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows (in English) and click the green run now button. Follow the on-screen instructions. If the device still does not work, proceed to the next step.

If it does not, please follow these troubleshooting steps provided:

    • Beginning
    • Search for Device Manager
    • Search results, open Device Manager.
    • Click on display
    • Show hidden devices.
    • Click the arrow next to keyboards.
    • Right click on the name of the keyboard device.
    • Select uninstall.
    • Continue deleting the names of devices in the category keyboards until the feature of all the names have been uninstalled.
    • Restart the laptop twice.

NOTE: Please repeat these steps for the TouchPad in device as Manager.

I found a document of troubleshooting for you to try called Portable keyboard troubleshooting.
