HP ENVY 15-k253ca: lower HP ENVY 15-k253ca upgrade to Windows 7

Downgraded to Windows 7 default Windows 8.1. In the BIOS enabled Legacy Support, Secure Boot option is disabled, then selected the drive internal CD/DVD-Rom as boot option.

Does anyone know the number of brand and part of the controller wireless LAN? As I tried "Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE 80211 b/g/n Wireless LAN Driver" at HP, did not work.

Hello:

According to the list of parts for your laptop, it has a WLAN11AC + BT4 1 x 1 USB + PCle HMC MOW.

http://PartSurfer.HP.com/search.aspx?SearchText=J9K76UA

Part number tells me that it is an Intel Dual Band WIRELESS-AC 3160, for which you can get the drivers wireless and bluetooth below...

This package provides the driver to support the Intel 7260/3160 Wireless LAN card in the laptop models running a supported operating system.

File name: sp69038.exe

This package contains the installation package driver for the Bluetooth of Intel in the laptop models running a supported operating system.

NOTE: so that this package to install correctly, the previous package should be removed (as appropriate) before running this update of the driver.

    Hey @Rayprinterman,

I see that you have some problems with printing to your craving 5530 e - all - in - one printer after upgrade to Windows 10. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. While the printer is turned off, disconnect the power cable from the back of the router for a minute.
    3. When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.
    4. Close any programs you have open on your PC.
    5. In your search type in printers bar and open devices and printers.
    6. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
    7. Click on remove the instrument.

  • Envy 17 3010eg: upgrade to Windows 8 and update Bios: no switchable graphics and other problems

    Hello

I'm of the Germany, but I'll do my best to write this in English.

    The product name and number: HP Envy 17 3010eg {information}

Operating system: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

    Drivers: everything up to date

    Long story short,

I just wanted to upgrade the pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit to the new Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.

So I waited until the driver for Windows 8 support has been completed by HP.

This month, I noticed that HP has released a graphic driver for Windows 8.

Happy as I was I installed Windows 8 immediately via upgrade function.

I installed all the missing drivers.

    * Update Bios to F.08*

I noticed that I had to upgrade my Bios to version F.08 to install new graphics drivers. I did the upgrade and installation of the driver.

BUT after the update to the version of the Bios the laptop only F.08 recognized the AMD graphics card. The integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics card had disappeared!

Even after installing the new graphics driver, the Intel card is still missing in the 'Device Manager' of Windows 8.

The battery life is now about 1 1/2 to 2 hours maximum because the laptop always uses the card AMD.

So I looked in the 'new' Bios, but I have not found a way to change the graphics card. So I think that there is only a 'software' switch to do so.

I have installed "AIDA64"and look under "Graphics".» The graphics card Intel HD 3000 has been mentioned as 'disabled'.

Nice, but I have no idea how to turn it on again.

So I re-installed Windows 8. This time, I did a completely clean install. With the same results.

So, I switched to Windows 7, and there you go. Two graphics cards are displayed in "Device Manager" and the switchable graphics feature works perfectly (! even with the new version of the Bios F.08!).

    * Tested in Bios Version F.09*

Yesterday, I noticed another Bios Update. This time in version F.09.

So, I updated the Bios with Windows 7 installed.

    Everything went well (I thought!).

Once, I've done a completely new installation of Windows 8 to take a peek, if Intel HD 3000 card will be recognized this time.

    BUT without success...

So, I thought that the problem could only be Windows 8, because Windows 7 works perfectly.

    * Problems with Bios Version F.09*

BUT then, I noticed a strange behaviour of my laptop:

    -proximity sensor no longer works

-the keyboard backlight cannot be (DIS-) activated

-the brightness of the backlight is half as usual

-internal fans are going crazy-> they accelerate without reason (laptop is idle) and won't slow down until I do a re-boot

    * Version of the Bios downgraded to F.05*

So, I spent to the version of the Bios to the older Version available: F05

And I was a little shocked by the result.

Windows 8 acknowledged the Intel HD 3000 graphics card again!

    The problem is the Bios!

Then, I upgraded the version of Bios version to see which version of the cause of the problem:

    Œuvres F05

    Œuvres F.06

    F.08 does not work

    F.09 does not work

So I decided to stay with the version F.06

BUT to install the new Windows graphic 8 driver you need the version of Bios F.08 (min.).

    I installed the driver anyway...

I found myself with a black screen... I had to reinstall Windows completely.

    Yet more long story short,

I ended up using Windows 8 Pro 64 - bit with the graphics card AMD only.

I also updated the Bios (back) to the version F.08 dispelled the problems with the version of the Bios F.09 I mentioned.

So for the moment I am absolutely no idea what the problem might be.

The support has not yet heard of these problems and I have not found any website which explains the same problem.

Every posting, I found explains that the AMD card is not recognized by Windows 8 but Intel HD card.

Someone else got the same problems?

What do you think? Is it really a problem with the Bios?

What can I do to solve the problem?

for me the best driver are:

    http://leshcatlabs.NET/

Works Perfekt (cards during execution of the F06 BIOS and a map when F08/09) and are updated often.

  • HP Envy m6 1183 for example: stuttering mouse after upgrade to Windows 10

After the upgrade of Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 my mouse is "stuttering". With stuttering I don't mean lag but changes of symbol like 3 times every second from the normal pointer to a pointer with the blue loading ring and back. If I want for example to rename a file, once I typed in some letters it also marks all the text, so I have to restart. Another example is when I want to move a window, it automatically turns its back to the original position, so I have to take baby steps to move.

If you have HP SimplePass installed, try the following:

    1. launch HP SimplePass

    2. click on settings (the train to the upper right)

    3. remove the check mark next to "LaunchSite.

    4. click OK, then close HP SimplePass

If this does not resolve the problem, then there probably another background process causing flicker.  You can open (Ctrl + Alt + Delete on the Windows desktop) Task Manager and under the "treatments" tab to see if something is constantly causing CPU activity (look at the percentages in the CPU column).  If so, you can emphasize this topic and click "End task" to see if the cursor will stop blinking.  If Yes, you can then Google the name of the process to try to know what piece of software it is bound to, and then see if there are any available updates or uninstall the software, if it's something you have no use for.

  • HP Envy x 360: upgrade Windows 10 - date license expiration

    Hello

I'm anticipating the upgrade to Windows 10 on my Hp Envy x 360, but I hesitate. The current license for Windows 8.1 does not expire over time, but Microsoft says that Windows 10 is only free for the first year.

Could someone give some sort of guarantee that I won't have to pay for Windows 10 next year? Otherwise, I would feel really ripped off the coast.

    Thank you

    Alex

I just wanted to add some more info to this. What follows is the issues of Windows 10 which can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-faq

    The upgrade is really free?

Yes, it's free. It is a full version of Windows, not a trial version or initiation. It is available for a limited time: you have one year from the time 10 Windows is available to take advantage of this offer.

Can I reinstall Windows 10 on my computer after the upgrade?

Yes. Once you have upgraded to Windows 10 using the free upgrade offer, you will be able to reinstall, including a clean install on the same device. You will not need to buy Windows 10 or return to your previous version of Windows and upgrade again.

You will also be able to create your own like a Flash DRIVE or a DVD installation media and use it to update your device and reinstall once you have upgraded.

  • Envy 15-c101dx: 8.1 Windows reset always available after upgrade to Windows 10 and refreshment?

I tried to troubleshoot and fix a driver of hareware problem that was discovered after doing the upgrade of Windows 10 Windows 8.1. Before updating my system, I was warned by the software that I would not be able to return to Windows 8.1 if I did the update with the upgrade of Windows 10 still installed. My question is if Windows 10 also stop me from going back to Windows 8 if I did a reset of the system?

I played it safe and restored back to 8.1 for Windows before you reset this time, but this will delay upgrading me to Windows 10 in confidence (1 month to try it is not a lot of time).

    Hi @hyjiad.

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question on your HP ENVY x 2-computer laptop 15-c101dx and concerns with the Windows 10 upgrade. It shows me that your system is compatible with Windows 10 drivers. It tells you which driver he would have a problem with?

The best I can offer at this point is to create your a HP recovery USB drive.

Here is a link to Windows 10 FAQ. It gives you that Go Back is a feature that will restore your computer to the old operating system that was installed before you upgraded to Windows 10 for only 28 days. But with your recovery USB disk you can do at any point and time.

    I hope this helps you.

    Thank you.

  • HP ENVY 17-j053ea Notebook PC: windows post 10 install; touchpad does not work!

    Hello

I pray that someone can help me.

Brought my HP ENVY 17-j053ea Notebook PC early 2014, work very well running windows 8.1.

In the month of August / Sept upgraded to windows 10 and that s when the problems started.

My touchpad has stopped working... I tried a multitude of things that sometimes worked, but after a few days the pad has stopped working again.

The problem started in the month of August on vacation so I installed the following:

    Driver and utility Chipset

Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver - sp63410

Rapid Start driver Intel - sp63411

Smart Connect driver Intel - sp63413

    Synaptics TouchPad Driver - sp63417

HP Notebook System BIOS update - sp69886

HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel processors) - sp66941

The event system HP utility - sp65792

Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver - sp63554

This solved the problem for a few weeks, but then the touchpad stopped and started periodically and eventually didn't work for about 2 months.

While the Forum last night I fought, I found the resolution posted by DanG82 with the title:

HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT UPGRADE POST-WINDOWS 10 ON HP LAPTOPS

Follow all the instructions step by step and was hopeful this could work... but it didn't.

Whereas really return to 8.1 windows because it's so frustrating using a mouse on the go.

Please please can someone help me?

    You are the very welcome.

The only other suggestion I can offer would be to uninstall the touchpad driver and software in the menu programs in Control Panel, restart and try this driver synaptics, even once, I posted.

Or try the driver directly from synaptics.

Always uninstall the previous synaptics driver before installing the new.
