HP ENVY 15 notebook PC TS: Ralink Wifi adapter
I uninstalled to accidentlly the Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter on my computer, hp envy ts 15 portable x 64 bit, while trying to clean unnecessary files. I followed the instructions as to reinstall what I saw on the forums of the previous question. It did not work. My system wants to connect to broadband. I can't connect to any type of internet even if I try to use my mobile access point.
I tried troubleshooting after I tried to reinstall the ralink but it is said that a cable must be connected.
Help, please! This my only computer and I need for school.
Hello
You can try to install the driver Ethernet LAN wireless (WLAN) driver of the laptop Recovery Manager.
Please see the instructions below:
1.) press Windows + Q - key and in the search box, type Recovery Manager and press enter to open it.
2.) I need help immediately, click on drivers and reinstall Applications and wait for the Recovery Manager to generate a list.
3) 3) select the check box next to the drivers (Ralink) 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN (WLAN) card driver and Driver Realtek Local Area Network (LAN)) you want to reinstall and then click on the Install button at the bottom right and follow the on-screen instructions.
4.) once the drivers are re-installed, restart the computer and check the functionality.
The MediaTek (Ralink) 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN (WLAN) card driver is for the functionality of your laptop wireless and local area network (LAN) Realtek driver is for the connection of the Ethernet cable to your laptop.
And only if you have access to another PC which is able to go online and then, please check the link below to download the latest version (check date) MediaTek (Ralink) 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN (WLAN) card driver and Driver Realtek Local Area Network (LAN).

Hey @dct1954 ,
I called support and they confirm that even if it shows that it will be compatible, there will be a problem. They recommend using a USB dongle to give you the 5 GHz, you need.

connection Ralink wifi adapter problem, how to fix on a HP Pavilion g seris
My Hp laptop does not connect to internet, it has the following wifi adapter. How can I solve this problem. RalinkRT5390 802. 11 b/g/n
Hello:
Are the rest of your PC / devices connected to the internet?
If Yes, try to install the latest driver and see if that helps.
If you have no other wireless devices to test, restart your modem and router, and you must do it in a certain way.
1. close all PC.
2. turn off the modem and the router.
3. turn on the modem only. Wait about 2 minutes.
4. turn on the router. Wait about 2 minutes.
If you have a modem/router combo, then you need not step 4.
5. start the PC and see if you can connect.

Windows 8.1 slow wi fi - RT5390R bgn ralink WiFi adapter
Hello. This problem started when I updated for windows 8.1 on my home office (which connects via wifi). It came with windows 8, but then I've updated in March for windows 8.1 after learning that wifi controllers have been updated. Since then, I had problems with the wireless network (problem comes and goes, but is unstable hightly).
The most common problems I see is: slow network, very few reliable HTTP traffic (web pages does not display ok, does not load images or does not even load the web page, rror 404), sometimes it doesn't connect to my WIFI at home, 802.11n, as its configuration for authetication type WPA2-PSK.
Note that if I connect using cable, it works well. Also, I find that if I connect to an unsecured network, 802. 11B it works fine. Another aspect to note is that whenever I see the problem (every 5 minutes), I usually run the ipconfig/flushdns and seems that he * temporarily * solves the problem, but then it happens again.
In addition, the driver is supposed to be updated, I first tried one that has been recommended to HP, but since it has not solved the problem, I downloaded a newer version of the Ralink site, is dated April 4, 2014.
This, of course, didn't happen before the update (I've updated in November, but has also broken the wi fi and after a problem, I decided to go back to windows 8 and worked normally) and also, I have a lot of devices that connect ok to the network (laptop computer, mobile phones, tablet, even a smart tv).
I'm a guy experienced when it comes to problems with my desktop computer, but it's very strange and I blame windows 8.1!
Does anyone have another suggestion?
Something will help you. Thank you.
The solution of "update drivers" failed. Also the "allow the computer to turn off device" did not work. The only thing that worked for me, it was implemented on the IPv4 settings manual DNS servers.
After heavy, found research 8.1 windows handles DNS in different settings (why? hell I don't know), so I stumbled upon the following article http://adamralph.com/2014/01/24/continuously-losing-internet-connectivity-in-windows-8-1 , but did not fix. So, after banging my head against the wall, I decided to use my own ISP dns servers IP s and voila... it worked, after 4 months that I initially installed windows 8.1.

ENVY 15 j040el (Italy): replacement/upgrade for RALINK RT 3290 wifi adapter
My RT 3290 RALINK wifi adapter supplied with HP ENVY 15 Notebook j040el (bought in Italy in 2013) has stopped working. I got to know of it when all of a sudden I couldn't access the internet more but my Tablet worked fine, so no fault of my ISP. Fortunately I had at hand a USB wifi adapter to my office, and in him reconnect the wifi was back. So my RALINK RT 3290 went for sure. Unfortunately, my warranty expired last year, and I can't ask for a free replacement of HP. There is no RALINK RT 3290 on Amazon Italy. I've seen a few complaints about the RALINK RT 3290 performance on the forum.
1 can one suggest a good compatible replacement or upgrade?
2 HP suggest a compatible replacement? How? Where?
Laptop model: HP ENVY 15 j040el
Country: Italy
OS: Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
Processor: Intel core i7-4700MQ, 2.40 gHz
RAM: 12 GB
HARD drive: 1 TB
Warranty: due September 2014.
The module that I suggested is compatible. It is the same physical size and has 2 antenna connectors it will be a matter of popping the old and jump into the new and replace the son, and then to load the driver. I don't know how you burn a wifi card but I mean it is also dual-band 2.4 and 5 ghz 7260 AC if that is a problem for you maybe, my advice would be different.
2 x 2 vs 1 x 1 designates the number of streams from radio to the card. 2 x 2 is better.

RALink RT5390 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter will remain not connected
I use a laptop of Hp 2000, and the adapter installed on the computer provided wireless is a Ralink RT5390 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter. I ran the driver update tool, and it says I have install the driver update. I have also run the tool to "Diagnose the problem", and he says that he has no problem. However, the computer loses internet connection constantly. I guess it has something to do with the wireless adapter, because all other wireless in the House have no problems. The operating system is Windows 7. I'm a little tech savvy and can normally include questions to just play with it for a while, but this one has me dumb founded, and its very annoying when you try to do something and you just loose connection and have to start all over again. Help, please!
Hello:
I found that the relying on a tool the driver does not always provide information.
Here is the link to the latest version of the driver if you don't v.3.2.12.0 (13 April 2012) installed.

This can also be confirmed on the following link.
