In fact, I had one of this series of models and I can tell you that the slot of the WSSD is on the back of the motherboard. A vast necessary disassembly. I'm sorry.

    Hello:

The HP support pages did not work for several days.

HP is aware of the issue and working to resolve it.

To your J181NR of 17 desire, if you are in a hurry to get the drivers, use those of the HP Probook 450 G2 except the BIOS and firmware files.

Most of them should work except the nVidia graphics because this model does not have the graphics card from nvidia.

  • HP ENVY 810-445qe: mSATA in HP ENVY 810qe

I just bought a HP ENVY 810-445qe with a 16 GB mSATA drive.  How do I know if it works correctly?  The startup time is somewhat less than a minute.

    Hello

The 16 GB mSATA is a data caching solution and it will be faster compared to using an SSD for the start.

Data caching with the motherboard in your PC could be performed by a service via hardware or software according to the question if this feature is enabled in the BIOS.  Usually the HP in the past has used a software service with W8 for the caching of data.

Try some boots and see if the issue changes.  If this isn't the case, then contact HP support. If you are still not satisfied with the boot time then return and exchange the PC within the 21-day return period.  After 21 days, it becomes a warranty issue.

Your PC has a chipset Z97.  My Z97 PC chipset which is fully configured with several hard drives and SSD boots much faster using an SSD, given all the bells and whistles that are enabled.  However, I can boot from a 7200 HD using Windows 8.1 in about 30 seconds and less than 15 seconds using an SSD.

  • Envy Touchsmart 15-J144na: HP Envy material of hard drive Kit

    Hi all

So I am desperately looking for a replacement hard drive cable for my laptop. (Envy Touchsmart 15-J144na)

HP part number is 718432-001. (Directly from repair HPs)

I tried the company I used to use FAE Supply Chain and after taking the money, they said two weeks later that they do not have, nor can they get it, for having issued a refund!

I am now hunting around but with very little success.

I only really need the cable, but fortunately buy any combination of products and parts to get to the bit, I want!

I'm self-employed, so that each day that passes that I lose money.

If anyone knows of any good company in the United Kingdom (or even in the world, im not picky!) would be great get your suggestions.

(Prefer original HP parts, but I can't afford to be more fussy!)

PS I tried all the companies on the site Web of HPs for the part and none of them have or even know what part im speaking of! (With the exception of Europarts EET I'm waiting for)

    Thank you

  • How do I clone the mSATA drive in my Inspiron 17R 7720?

I have two almost identical Inspiron 17R laptop 7720; one that I bought new from Dell 4 years and one that I bought used a couple of weeks. Both have identical hardware with the following exceptions: my original has a Core i7 processor and a 32 GB mSATA drive, while the new has a Core i5 processor and no mSATA drive. Hard drives, video, memory, etc. are all the same on both computers.

I bought a car identical mSATA for the new computer and try to clone the mSATA and the old computer's HARD drive, so I have two identical computers. I tried cloning of disks using Macrium Reflect. Cloned HARD drive successfully, but reflects only concludes a 8 GB partition not formatted on the old disk mSATA, not all 32GB. I cloned the new drive mSATA and tried in my old computer it correctly identified the drive but it was not valid, said RAID 0 volume and asked me to change my drive to non-RAID configuration.

Any thoughts on how I can clone the old mSATA disc correctly to the new?

You can't clone this player.  What you need to do is set up the Intel IRST again.

  • 2xHDD & HP ENVY 17-j017sg mSATA

    Hi @ll,

    Today I received my new HP ENVY 17-j017sg / F1Y59EA #ABD.

I like to use mSATA with two hard drives.

Now, I have deployed initially the mSATA (with hard drives), installed to Windows8.1 64 and everything worked well.

But now if I Plug one or two hard drives on my system does not start.

I see all 3 devices in the Bios or driver Sata Intel RST.

I also tried a reinstall of windows (in installer, I see also all 3 devices).

So I installed Windows on the mSATA. But on reboot, I got the screen

"Please install an operating system on your hard drive."

    Hard drive (3F0)

I also extend the Bios (now have F.43)

    Hey,.

    I have an update.

Now my system startup of 'd' (hard drive) and load everything from c: (my mSATA).

It's pretty easy... but with some restrictions

first of all: you cannot use Raid function bios worse cannot load the bootstrapper to a raid (0 or 1). (which was my problem, I haven't gotten to every time 'no bootable file'... * shit *, and with that you can not use your own bootloader such as bootus or bcd...)

Secondly: the mSATA boot takes without efi ~ 15 seconds with efi 8 seconds (no problem)

    (without efi)

    00 s - PowerUP

    03sec - control window

06 sec - window control closed-> window Startuplogo

    15 sec - connected

    This is my way:

    1. bios Settings:

-remove the hard drives and deployed the mSATA, install Win8 on the mSATA (it is now 'C').

    -fix the hard disks

the controller parameters should look like this

F9-> boot order change-> boot from the DVD of Win8

Now select "Internal CD/DVD Rom" (not the UEFI)...

    Start the repair console.

(format (its easy with diskpart) HARD disk drives

Finally write the bcd for your first HARD drive.

-> (c: is my devcie mSATA, d: is my first HARD drive)

    BCDboot c:\windows /s d:

    Finaly Windows 8 boot =) * yeeah *.

  • ENVY dv6-7214nr - mSATA does not start

    ENVY of HP dv6-7214nr - 8.0 Windows (x 64)

I installed a KINGSTON 30 GB (KINGSTON SMS200S330G) mSATA with 8.1 Pro N (x 64) Windows on this subject, to use as a boot device.

The system recognizes the new hardware, but when I try to set the mSATA as the primary boot device, the system recognizes as a boot device. Even if I disconnect my 750 GB HDD (ST750LX003-1AC154), to see if it solves any conflict.

No idea on how to solve this issue will be appreciated.

It is intended to be a cache of acceleration drive. It speeds up boot time and makes the programs open faster. It allows a slow to behave more like an SSD mechanical drive. You can enable the acceleration of the program Intel Rapid Storage. It improve performance even with 16 GB of memory, even if HP will not sell it in this configuration because a 30 gig WSSD is not compatible quick start recovery from hibernation because it is not large enough to hold the entire contents of RAM and other things that the WSSD has hold.

  • Envy 15-j051sa mSata SSD Cache TS

Envy TS 15-j051sa mSata SSD Cache for the 1 TB 5400 HGST HTS541010A9E680.

The manual States "Support for the SSD drive 24-GB mSATA (not available on computer models equipped with system - 16834 memory or 12288-Mo)". As I have all the conditions, Intel processor, 8 GB of ram, the question is can I just install it and everything works as if by magic?

Or what I need to do anything about it, or to perform any installation? I noticed Intel RST is running and that the system is working normally.

Any help or experience would be helpful (apart from the disk of 1 TB of pit and replace it with a large SSD!).

    Thank you.

OK, for someone else to end up here

    It worked for me:

    • Bought a 24 GB SSD mSata off eBay (very cheap).
    • Make sure that it is the type of partition MBR (I used an external box with Mini PCI-E to SATA 22Pin mSATA).
    • Make sure that the Intel Rapid Start technology is disabled in the Bios. (Appears only if the mSata is installed).
    • Windows 8 (.1) boot in SafeMode (this is where I'm wrong).
    • Run the Intel Rapid Storage Technology-> Performance-> activate acceleration.
    • Reset (it works!)
    • Activate the technology Intel Rapid boot in the BIOS (I don't know if it improves things, seems to work OK without him)

A start power button to start screen for ready office is 17-18 seconds. Note that I have several services running SQL 2008 R2 Server and all the HP utilities installed as new.

My name is Jakub and recently, I have a big problem with my HP Envy 14-2000eg. Without going into details, it turned out that I need to replace the HARD drive. Page 38 shows the replacement of the hard disk. You can use any 9.5 mm or 7mm thickness 2.5 inch wide disk hard SATA or SSD. The laptop can also take a WSSD mSATA as a throttle control. You probably already have one in place.

    This drive would be nice:

  • HP Envy 350 changeable x: drive DVD No on more than $800 wanted, I bought.

I didn't know when I bought my HP Envy last winter (more), it did come with a DVD/CD player.   I assumed that all laptops came with them. If I had known that there is no, I would not have bought the laptop.  Burning DVDs and games are a fun thing for me. How in the world can you download some things to the laptop if there is no CD/DVD drive?  I don't know much about computors, but for me that this is was an epic disappointment... I will never get my money on this laptop and I can't certainly allow me to replace it.  All I can do about it?

Buy an external CD/DVD drive that plugs into the usb port.

  • laptop HP envy 17 TS: windows driver 10 hp truevision hd for youcam?

I see I'm not the only one with this problem.  Win 10 update seems to have deleted the driver for my webcam.  I tried to reinstall youcam, no luck.  Has anyone fixed this yet?

Yay!   Solved!   I have a HP Envy touch screen.  He was originally with victory 8.1 and some delivered the software, which included 6 Youcam, the software to use the built in HP Truevision webcam.  I have not upgraded to win10 no problem.  Then I started having problems with my Start menu and programs it does not.  I could do a click on a few of them, but just click on them to open them did nothing.  I set up with it for a little while and then get frustrated enough to reinstall windows.  I think that I have the place in improved, or refresh - one who starts as new windows and records everything you had in the Windows.Old folder.   When I did this, all my software group has been deleted, including Youcam.   A few weeks later my Start menu stop working again and I had to do the win10 reinstall again.  I don't know what option I did the installation with the second time, but my file to win.old has now disappeared, as well as all the myself programs installed.  Now the webcam did not work.  I downloaded another version of Youcam - my version of software was not free to download and I wasn't about to pay for something that was initially provided with my computer for free, and I had no idea of what I could do or who to call to do not have to pay for it again.  I think it was 2 Youcam.   It was impossible to capture images.  The little light next to the camera, indicating that he was working, so I was sure that it was not a hardware problem.  When I looked in the settings I coulkd see she was using the HP Truevision webcam.  It just did not work.  I tried to make updates, Win10 and Cyberlink.  I uninstalled the webcam, reinstalled, tried to roll back the driver, all that jazz. That didn't fix it.  I looked on the Forum and found other people had similar issues, but I saw none that was remidied it.  Something about the embedded version of Youcam seems vital for the webcam not work at all.   I scoured my hard drive and found in my Program Files (x 86), my Cyberlink folder still had a Youcam6 record.  And the .exe program!   I ran it... and he did the same error "unable to capture.    I think that's when I posted in the forums here.  I was frustrated and doesn't bother with it more until yesterday.  I decided to try once more.   I ran Youcam6 (had to go again in Progran files (x 86) to do, but this time, I made a shortcut).  Same mistake.  I went into the Device Manager and uninstalled the Hp Truevision webcam.  Ran Youcam yet again, no camera detected.  With Youcam always on I went back to the Device Manager and search for new devices and immediately returned to the Youcam window and now it says "we have detected you have Hp truevision webcam, you want to use this device?  I clicked on ok, the box of image capture flashed different colors for a second, then was filled with the image of the room behind me and myself.  It worked!   Just in time, too.   My next idea was to see if drop shot it would help.

  • HP Envy M6: My HARD drive is not bad on my computer? I have reloaded Win 8 and upgraded to Win 8.1 but he keeps crashing

Hi need help and answers from an expert!

My HP Envy M6 Recenly has stopped working correctly, so I decided to recover as soon as possible.  She still had the same problems, so I decided to restore factory with recovery USB flash drive I did.  Always had the same problem happens after I rebooted 8 Win and improved to 8.1.  It would work for a few minutes and stop working I used chkdsk and it says it fixed a few problems with the drive.

I went through the same steps another 3 times!  After each time that once I had that he would be running again after a clean reinstall.  I would like to run chkdsk and it looks like he fixed some error, but last time, it wouldn't or couldn't find some files to run and crashed.  I tried loading Acronis and tried to reinstall the backup from there but that also failed to correct the problem.  I came to the conclusion that my HD is physically wrong?

I guess the recovery process would reformat the partitions before you reinstall so it's not a logic error (software)?  From the recovery partition, the recovery Flash disk media and recovery software acronis can fix this, I can only assume, there is a problem with the drive itself?

Is there a way to check this?  I don't mind replacing the drive to a SSD, so this isn't a problem, but I can't seem to find a product key.  Nothing printed on the bottom.  I read somewhere that it is now integrated with the motherboard bios so can I just use the recovery media that I did on a flash drive?

Also, I have my backup file but I could never find the location of the image my wife loaded as the photo of "lock" screen which I do not have a copy of.  I have the backup files for windows 8.1 by Acronis and according to me, a Windows backup file on a backup drive, but I was wondering if these "locked screen hidden image" would be held somewhere in these data?  It is not under the images and I have never been able to find or understand where windows keeps this image.  I used the search without success.

Of course, this is not critical, but I hate losing this particular image.  I hope it's keep somewhere in my back upward and when restoring with a new drive hard I can reload the backup and restore.

So I really ned knowledge step by step: my HD is bad?  How can I check without having to spend hours to reload only to fail?

Why chkdisk does not?  Or should I simply replace HD and if so what can I use the new disk recovery media and product ID will be accessible through the motherboard?

I intend to upgrade to win 10, but I need Win 8 loading first, then move to 8.1 then move to Win 10?  Also in the future if it crashes how can I recover to win 10? Since it is free now but will not be later.  The upgrade will allow me to make a copy (a copy) to win 10?

A lot of questions, but please provide the fastest solution to my problems and concerns.

    Thank you in advance!

    FM Hawaii

    Hello fmhawaii ;

I read your post on your PC crashing and wanted to help.

It certainly seems that your hard drive has failed.  Some PC allows the drive to check in the BIOS: test a hard drive in the BIOS. HP® customer support

If that confirms that the disc is bad, then you will need to replace it.

As for activation, you are right in that, with Win8x machines, the product key is embedded in the motherboard UEFI firmware, however, the instructions in this link, show you how to recover: find product - key for Windows 8

When you restore from recovery media, which is supposed to automatically read product key, so you will not have to enter something to activate reinstall it.  My guess is that the drive problems that prevented from happening.

Acronis allows you to mount an image file by using a drive letter, and once you do this, you should then be able to browse through the content to find the file you want.  However, depending on what part of the logon icon changed, it might be embedded image in a Windows system file, and unless there is a separate copy of this image, it will be very difficult to recover.  IF you Google it, you might be able to find downloadable tools for disassembly of this file and subseuent extraction of this file.

I wouldn't hurry to Win10, but if you choose to follow this path, don't forget to make a new advance Acronis backup, then you can return to a system of Win8x of work if something is wrong - as the Win10 GoBack function is known to be unreliable.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.
