HP Envy 17 (new, out of box) Wireless Network does not (OS: Windows 7 Pro)
Straight out of the box, my HP does not connect to my home wireless network. This, however, will work with cable AND wireless to my hot spot of verizon - but NOT the network wireless home (even if place in the same room).
This is the most I ever paid for a lapop and by far the most trouble I've ever had.
My husband I want to return this "piece of crap"... as I lost two full days on this so far.

New wireless network does not appear on any computer
Thanks in advance for any help. OK, so I have a HP office connected to the internet through a router WRT54GS. I had 2 laptops connected to the NICU my wireless router. A (HP) laptop has built in wireless modem/adapter. The other laptop Dell was NICU equipped with a wireless adapter card. The problem is that the adapter on the basically dead Dell laptop, I don't give no internet connection. So I tried to install a more recent network card wireless linksys with speed on the cell phone booster. The instructions asked me to press the orange button on my router Cisco access point. I knew thatd be a problem. While the laptop connected to the internet, my old wireless network seems to be deleted. Installin the new card on the Dell laptop has created a connection b/t it and the router. The other laptop (HP) is now offline and not even a slate of the new network. So I tried to create a new wireless network on the main desktop computer. Now this new network is not detected by the wireless or portable printer. Other networks is detected if. Or the original linksys network is detected, Im not sure.
OK sorry for any confusion, but my basic problem is that my new wireless network is not detected on the laptop or the printer. I tried unpluggin the router. I also tried to manually in the network settings. I also tried to disable the firewall on my main computer. Nuthing worked. I checked the Device Manager, everything seems fine.
My router is just old? Its at least 4 years
I don't know what to do. Thanks again for your suggestions.
NVM, I got the impression to work. just installed it on the laptop wireless. I still can't get the 2nd adapter linksys to laptops to work. I'll ask for help in this section of the adapter.

I bought a new HP ENVY 4502. I have out of the box, follow the installation instructions precisel before 4.9 step. The printer says 'Cartridge Install' with a blue under circle. I can't go any further.
I turn the machine off and on again and everything looks OK and I can continue with the installation.
Is this normal or does indicate that there is a problem with the new printer or cartridges provided?
Thank you for your help; I look forward to a response
Hi @johngray,
Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I'd love to help you with your newly purchased 4502 envy. From your description, it seems that you have seen the 'Installation cartridge' message with a blue circle and could not move forward through the installation until you turned the printer off and on again. Your message, it sounds like once you have turned off the printer and turn it on again you were able to complete the installation, is that correct? I think that maybe there was a minor hiccup and the printer does not detect that the cartridge was installed, I don't think that it is an indication of how the printer will behave in the future.
If you encounter any other complications please let me know and I will gladly make all that I can to help.
If it meets your needs, please consider tagging this post as solved by clicking on accepted as a Solution below to identify your problem as solved! Thank you.

Wireless network does not work properly on Equium A100-549
I've tried so far with/without WPA PSK TKIP, WEP, OPEN, dynamic and static address, ipconfig/all configure TCP/IP manually and automatically updated drivers, all windows updates. I also tried with or without mac filtering.
I install a good USB dongle known and tried all the foregoing the same I can instantly find the network cut and paste the password or type it in, it find instantly and the other around the street, but could not connect wireless connections, the icon in the task bar permanently a red x.
If I can connect to the network I can put everything up. I have an XP, Office XP laptop and Vista DESKTOP base everything on laptop wireless WIFI on board, to an office on a dongle and the other with a PCI x 16 WI - FI card. on the laptop problem when you right-click the icon under display all connections, the status option is also low lit (can not select).
It's like the driver is bad even if tosiba website says it's the right one to download when you fill out the form online, when you are looking there Web site for pilots.
It's really annoying.Hello
Satellite A100-549 PSAA4E was delivered with Atheros 11 b/g wireless network card.
In this case the Atheros WLan client utility should be preinstalled on this OS.
I advise to use this tool to configure WLan settings. In addition the wireless network card has been configured and set WLan channel 11. Please check if your router has been also on channel 11!
I assume you are using the image of preinstalled Toshiba.
This image contains the right WLan driver and usually the new installation is not necessary but if you are lloking for the new WLan driver I would recommend take a look here on this Toshiba WLan Center Portal:

I use a Realtek RTL8187 wireless network adapter for my laptop, and it seems that it works very well. It says connected, without any problem. But when I click on the link, it says much info was sent and no follow-up. I can't really use wi - fi without this thing so please help!
The wireless network adapter is misconfigured. It seems to have been fixed with a static IP address and a static IP address in the subnet of wrong with that. Since the IP address of your router is 192.168.1.1 (the ' default gateway'), your network cards, wired and wireless, should take the form 192.168.1.x
- Right-click on the icon for 'Wireless Network Connection 2'
- Click on properties
- In the 'Général' tab, select the entry for the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the properties button
- Ensure that the radio buttons to "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" are selected
- Click on the Advanced button
- Click the WINS tab and check the option box for "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" is selected
- OK your way out.
- Restart the computer.

Specific wireless network does not connect in Windows 7, but does in Windows 10?
I have a Toshiba Satellite L750D laptop, it is about 3 years old now.
I use Windows 7 for a while. Everything works fine to connect wireless at home and more than other wireless networks, but the hours was spent without success to get it to connect to the wireless work (Ministry of education, that's why this included fiddling around with the proxy settings and user authentication options). I got it to connect properly this wireless in the past, but to another school.
I had given up on actually being able to use internet in my class to improve the education of students.
I upgraded my computer to Windows 10, then suddenly, following the same steps that we had tried before, my laptop had no connection to detnsw disorders. Hooray, 21st century learning!
Unfortunately, some of the hardware in my computer graphics or something couldn't handle Windows 10 (or I couldn't manage Windows 10 and what he did to my outdated laptop), so I had to use the restore function, which came back my computer to Windows 7 without having to format my computer and re - install Windows 7 from an external source.
Now she continues to refuse to connect, even advise that to contact the network administrator.
It's driving me crazy. What is different between the 2 operating systems that allows to connect without fuss one way and deny the other way?
I have triple checked everything I could think of that could prevent the connection, including the drivers and my antivirus, nothing helps.
Is this just a case of Resistentialism that cause me to seriously consider spending the money that I have not currently on a new laptop just so I can show the occasional Youtube educational video?
Has anyone else had a similar problem, or is it just me?
Hello
Thanks for posting your query to the Microsoft forum. I will definitely help you with this.
The problem may occur if the network drivers are not correctly updated or you need to change the network settings.
Method 1: Please follow the steps described in the article Microsoft help to the given address:
Using the troubleshooter from network in Windows 7
How can I troubleshoot network card?
Method 2:
I suggest that you change options for both the systems on the network in the Advanced sharing settings (Open Network & Sharing Center > Advanced sharing settings to change):
-Enable network discovery
-Turn on the file and printer sharing
-Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in public folders
-Turn off password protected sharing
Now, try to map the drive, follow these steps:
1. click on Start, click on computer and click map network drive in the options under the address bar.
2. in the drive box, click the drive letter to use.
3. in the folder box, type \\server\share, where you can type the IP address of the drive to be mapped. For example, if the IP address is 192.168.6.xxx, you type \\192.168.6.xxx.
4. click on Finish.
Let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help you.

Wireless network does not connect
"At the time to choose a wireless network to connect to, the computer keeps turning of ' acquire a network address" to "not connected". Can I have a virus? The key of wireless network has been re-verified. The wireless card find several near by network and seems to work very well. I did not change any system and this just started happening.
If you get an error message, please report completely, without paraphrasing.
I know you said you checked your wireless network key, but please try the following (assuming you use Windows to configure your wireless network card):
- Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
- Right-click on the icon for your wireless adapter and select Properties
- Click on the tab 'wireless networks '.
- In the list of "Preferred networks", select your network and click 'delete '. Unless you regularly visit other wireless networks or have a specific reason to keep the configuration of a particular wireless connection, I suggest that you remove all entries in the list or favorite networks.
- OK your way out.
- Go to "View available wireless networks" and connect to your network.
If this does not help, I suggest to delete again your network wireless in the list of preferred networks (see above), but now utility access to your router configuration using a computer connected to the router by Ethernet and temporarily disable all wireless security features. As a general rule, only wireless security should be the wireless encryption, but if you have configured additional barriers, such as MAC filters or time restrictions, turn them off as well.
Can connect you to your router without active wireless encryption? If so, re - activate the encryption on the router using the Ethernet-connected computer, making sure that you know which has been entered into the router for the encryption key (utility router configuration most show the key to encryption "in the clear" so that you can read). Then try to connect wirelessly. When you access the key this time, it should work.

Wireless network does not work when I put a password
Well actually, I use a wireless network at home, and when I try to put a password, it won't let me connect to the internet, but my xbox connect when there is a password there and other laptops don't. When I try to connect by using a non-secure network it connects to the internet, but on any other laptop but mine it asks me to set up the connection, while on my laptop, it goes straight to a connection.
If you guys can offer me a solution to this problem, I would be very grateful
Hi Sh4dow,
You can check out the following link and check if it helps:
View your preferred wireless networks
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/view-your-preferred-wireless-networks
You can also temporarily disable the security software and firewall installed on the system and check if the problem persists. If this resolves the problem, then you may need to update or change the settings of the security software.
Note: Be sure to enable the security software on the computer after checking.
Hope this information is useful.

Windows 7 enterprise - wireless network does not work at the office
I'm a remote worker for a company. I travel offices across the United States and hit this problem before, but thought it was just a transitory problem. However, now I am in our headquarters and the problem has resurfaced. Essentially, networks under Windows 7 Enterprise associates for wireless access points but cannot obtain a DHCP address. I tried the usual: enough and ipconfig ipconfig / renew, I took it to our support people who confirmed that the configuration is correct, we have tried uninstalling the driver and put back in place, all in vain. The configuration of the machine is:
Dell Latitude E6400
Windows 7 Enterprise x 64
Wireless: Intel 5300 AGN
Driver:
Vendor: Intel
Version: 12.4.1.4
Digital signer: Microsoft
Path: C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\netw5v64.sys
The wireless works now in my office at home (I have a Windows 2003, Cisco 1200 AP domain and use WPA2 with PEAP to authenticate). Please note that the configuration has NOT changed since the last time I was in this office (about 3 weeks ago). We are a Windows 2008 R2 using NPS area (AFAIK). Help desk support people are completely baffled. The good news is that the cable works fine.

I just wanted to know why my wireless device doesn't work anymore. There for awhile he last internet connection detection.

a lexmark x 544 to connect to a wireless network does not work
I HAVE a LEXMARK X 544 & can NOT GET IT ON MY WIRELESS NETWORK - I tried all three wep, wpa, wpa personal options with the key at the back of my router but no luck. Help appreciated.
Portable PS & other devices are connected wirelessly.
Hi Amcfad,
· What operating system is installed on your count?
· You receive an error message?
The majority of connection inside Windows 7 problems have been resolved by installing the latest driver for the device obtained from the manufacturer.
For more information about the update of drivers, see the article:

I use the network wireless from my IPhone and next to the connection, there is a message that says "the ability of your network adapter does not match the requirements of this network" it still works, but I don't know why I get this message. The connection is blind. The only thing I did differently is update my phone to 4.3.3

Acer Aspire 5315 drivers for wireless network does not
This unit had top win7 and everything worked well. I reloaded Vista back and updated, all the drivers have shown as installed except for the wireless network, so I downloaded all the drivers of 3 of the website of Acer wireless network. Only the Atheros installed but still does not work, for the Atheros device ID is:
PCI\VEN_168C & DEV_001C & SUBSYS_04281468 & REV_01The wired network connection works fine, but with the wireless, the pc icon double in the tray system, but not with the 'flowers' shows as when I connect the wired ethernet cable. The difference between when win7 was on this unit is as well the wireless connection and the dvd that worked perfect but now after reloading Vista, the Wireless does not work and the dvd also does not show as well, I had to install codecs to show him all. It's not logical, why win7 would work to perfection and not the vista which was what this unit came with?
It's ok, I found the driver here:
https://www.Atheros.cz/Atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=22&system=3
Thanks for your help.

Wireless network does not appear without diagnose and repair when the PC is turned on
My wireless internet works fine when my laptop is running and up to 6 weeks ago, it was automatically available whenever I ran my laptop. Now, when I turned off and turn it back on, my laptop does not access my home network wireless until I have activate the "diagnose and repair network system. This system corrects what ever was wrong and active my network connection. It seems that I have some sort of 'switch' miss-set or the value manual (?) instead of ' Auto (?). Can someone tell me what I need to do to clear up this problem.
It is difficult to identify what could be wrong. I recommend that you delete the current wireless network connection entirely (make sure that you remove them completely - in the section Connections page sharing and management as well as the major networks wireless). Then recreate the connection to go from scratch using the appropriate settings (copy them down before you delete the 'old', if necessary) affecting particular it automatically to connect and see if that solves the problem.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

Microsoft MultiMedia 1.1 wireless keyboard does not work - Windows 7 64 bit
Keyboard does not work. Does not enter any data. Battery is good, the wireless signal is good. Tested on another computer and does not work there either. Tried to uninstall, reinstall and checked for driver updates. Original installation disk is incompatible with Windows 7. Message says device is working, but the keyboard is "dead."
Appreciate the suggestions, pls. TX
Not a good sign that it does not work on another computer. Go to control panel > devices and printers. If the keyboard doesn't appear as an installed device, think of it as dead and buried.
Windows identifies devices of small IC boards inside the devices and guess they are ok. Windows cannot do is determine if the keyboard membrane makes contact with the small IC Board...
