HP Envy 23-c055 1.5 TB Hard Drive already has 5 PARTITIONS of HP! Why!

I just got my HP envy 23-c055 and wants so far. I want to divide the main partition of C in 2DISQUES primary SCHOOL, but the 1.5 TB drive has already 5 partitions, so it is not possible. Why the @# $$ y 5 partitions already!

They are.

1 hidden Recovery partiton of 1024 MB

2. an another partion hidden

3. main drive C partition

4 partion recovery 20.5 GB

5. one another Recover partion same 20.5 GB

The only option available is to shrink the partition on the C drive and then do the rest a PLAYER LOGIC... This is NOT ACCEPTABLE, I need a 2nd PRIMARY PARTITION!

When I create 1 recovery media set 1 of the recovery partitions will disappear or I have to delete the recovery partition and if so which the recovery partition to delete.

I guess that once I created the recovery media, I can get rid of all other partitions then this will solve the * beep * problem. What a way to run a railroad.

I did a recovery USB then narrowed the C OS to 888 GB partition which allowed me to create another primary partition of Go 520 it labelling F LEAD since D must remain for the function of recovery so I won't delete it. Then, I was able to enable Legacy Support and intall windows 7 Professional on Drive F, creating a dual-boot with Windows 8 and Windows 7 Professional system and disable Secure Boot. Now I find 64-bit drivers for Win 7 I need to successfully complete the installation of Windows 7. Everything goes well until now.

I was impressed by the customer phone line support HP was able to speak with a technician in less than 5 minutes and it was actually very knowledgeable with regard to the questions of the partition.

Also orderd the DVD recovery media for this machine just in case. Better safe then sorry.

I would also like to congratulate hp for the suppport of driver on the site and the information available on the web site.

Now I should be able to run the software on the side Win 7 Pro of the machine that wouldn't work on the side to win 8 when I tried to install it.

So far, this machine is really impressive. Good job Hp!

Uhm... I think the issue here is a misunderstanding of what you watch.

If you want to access your files from the old hard drive - you need to look in the right place.  If the old system was "Windows 7", "Documents and Settings" is the * wrong * place to look and "Users" would be the place to go.

You * will * take ownership and change permissions on ALL (you want to propagate to all subfolders/files when do - to save time) in order to get them properly.

New-->: Windows Vista/7 would have your files located in the directory 'Users' of the root of the drive - and then under your username.

    • \USERS\\Desktop\
    • \USERS\\Downloads\
    • \USERS\\Favorites\
    • \USERS\\Documents\
    • \USERS\\Music\
    • \USERS\\Pictures\
    • \USERS\\Videos\

    ... etc...

Documents and settings to WIndows Vista/Windows 7 is a symbolic link and would lead to what you see if you tried to use it.

You will need the catalog file and all your images. If you have also stored your images on which crashed HDD you will need to copy them as well.

  • HP Envy 17 K2Z68AV: Adding a second hard drive for HP Envy 17 K2000 Series notebook PC

So, I have been looking around for more information on adding a second HDD/SDD in my model of laptop computer on the web, but can't find anything on my specific model. Many places say K-series laptops have only one hard drive Bay, and that you use a hard drive caddy optical Bay. Moreover, I found videos of very similar models being dismantled, which seem to have only room for 1 hard drive. However, I was told to support twitter HP want all 17 have 2 hard drive slots. Can I get a confirmation, just to be sure?

See page 47 for hard disk access and replacement. Without the drive of the WSSD, it is just a matter of replacing the HDD with a SSD 1 TB. Cloning a larger to a smaller drive can be a bit complicated so post back if you need some help with that.

I always recommend a Samsung Evo 850 as best consumer SSD. I recommend you get at least a version of 250 gig and preferably a 500.

    http://www.Amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-inch-internal-MZ-75E250B-am/DP/B00OAJ412U/ref=sr_1_1?s=PC&ie=UTF8&QID=1441918350&SR=1-1&keywords=Samsung+Evo+850

You don't need to worry about any special BIOS settings or anything just to plug and treat it like any other hard drive. Many people resist the question and read articles that are a few years old at the time when you had to 'create' the system for one SSD. Not really need more.

  • HP ENVY 17-j101ex - replace the SSD HARD drive

    Hello

I have HP ENVY 17-j101ex, with the standard configuration: 2 x 1 TB drive HARD 5400 RPM SATA. I want to buy 1 SSD drive and replace the first (boot) hard disk drive. I don't know if it works or not.

    I want to buy a SSD Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB SATA III (MZ-7TE250BW), 2.5 ", dimensions: 100 x 69 x 7 mm

I have to: 1 x 1 TB HARD drive (as a secondary drive) + 1 x 250 GB SSD SATA3 (as your startup with system disk)

    Is this ok?

    I found some info, that:

    Supports a 6.35 cm (2.5 in) 300 GB or 160 GB SSD (SSD) drive in 7, 0 - mm (. 28 - in.) thick

    Supports 6.35 cm (2.5 in) hard disks to 12.7 mm (. 50-in) and a height of 9.5 mm (. 37 - in)

Is it not this Samsung SSD too big?

I also found information on envy 17 series, which:

Supports the following single hard drive/solid-state drive combination configurations:
    ● 1-TB, 5400-rpm, 12.7-mm hard drive × 1 + 300-GB solid-state drive

    and also:

NOTE: Supports RAID-0 as default for all dual hard drive/solid-state drive combination configurations.

So, first of all should I disable RAID-0?

Thank you for your help and sorry for my English

In fact, I have the same model laptop PC series. You will have no problem replacing the mechanical main hard drive with an SSD. The Evo to Samsung 250 Gig is a very good choice. I suggest you get cloning software, put the SSD in the second slot, start from cloning software and copy (clone) the startup disk for the SSD. You'll slim down the contenst of the diskette of starting less than 250 concerts to achieve, but you can store files off to the second disk of 1 TB in the process. There are other ways to do this post if you have any questions.

Here is a video showing how to install the hard drive.

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=wx3dMGXrGCc

RAID-0 is supported, but you wouldn't want as a second hard drive with an SSD. If your readers are appearing as volumes of letters separated in 'the PC' or 'Computer' then RAID-0 does not exist and you shouldn't have to do any disorder in the BIOS.

  • Envy 15 t: upgrade memory and hard drive HP ENVY 15t

Hi guys, I just bought the HP Envy 15 not touch t (ae100) with the following characteristics:

-CPU & graphics: 6th generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad Core processor + Intel HD Graphics 530

    -Memory: 8 GB DDR3L - 1 DIMM

-Hard drive: 1 TB 5400 RPM hard drive

I have a few questions about it. First of all, my laptop doesn't have a vacant unit of m2 where I can insert an SSD and if not a SATA 3 2.5-inch SSD fits instead of the hard disk without additional fixing or need support.

Second, is there an empty memory slot to insert a 8 GB of additional ram.

Any kind of assistance will be extremely useful and thanks in advance.

No crack m2. From the Manual:

Only dedicated support of storage SATA m2 (Port 0) (models with i7 processors and 4 GB memory graphics)

So if you have Intel HD video only you do not have a slot m2.

Here's the manual for your use:

    Repair manuals

Yes on the memory 8 GB 2d module:

Both not accessible/upgradable module DDR3L-1600 slots double channel memory support 16 GB of RAM in the following conƭgurations ● 16384-Mo (8192 MB × 2)

Access to the memory and hard drive are obtained by removing the lower cover. Technically this is not allowed to the end user if security is jeopardized.

A standard 2.5 inch SATA SSD to integrate perfectly in the original hardware for hard disk 5400 RPM. It is a highly recommended update. The 16 GB of RAM not so much, but it's one of those things "might as well" If you are determined to go there.

  • HP Envy Ultrabook 6 t-1000 CTO: HARD drive is not displayed

    Hello.

I had the Windows Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) once or twice when using simple everyday applications on my Ultrabook. The results were either not different on Mode without failure. After awhile, I started having 'No Bootable disc' error while starting up. Recovery (press F11) will not appear so. I tried the HP Diagnostics (by pressing F2 at startup) and Test the hard drive as well as the Test of memory shows PASSED on the formats of short or long.

    I tried the following:

    1. I did some research on Google and entered in the BIOS/Insyde utility (by pressing F10 at startup), loaded default installation (by pressing F9), saved changes and did a restart, but I get the error again.

    2. I downloaded Windows 7 64-bit Microsoft store, created a boot USB and plugged. I was able to access the Windows Installation Page, but he wouldn't show my hard drive at all.

    3. I find the support page of my product on the site HP and downloaded the latest drivers, put it in a USB device and booted up the system from the Windows Setup disc. On the page where it was supposed to show my internal hard drives, it showed only USB drives and there is an option "Load Driver" I clicked on and selected the driver files I downloaded from the HP website. Everything was going well until I chose iaStor.inf... this time, the system has hung up and the BSOD appeared with an error stating the file 'iaStor.sys '.

    My questions:

1 if diagnostic Tests are passed, I can assume that the material is well?

    2. Although I already placed an order for HP recovery discs, I doubt if it could help because my HARD drive drivers seem to be missing. What is your opinion?
    3. is there a way to reset zero/reload drivers BIOS/Insyde utility?

    My system features:
Laptop model: PC portable HP Envy 6
Product no.: A9G58AV (the back panel laptop says A9G30AV)
    {Information}
    Processor: 2nd generation Intel Core i5 - 2467 M CPU @ 1.6 GHz + Intel HD Graphics 3000
    BIOS version: F.0D
    Total memory: 4 GB
Operating system: Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
HARD drive: 500 GB 5400 rpm SATA RAW 7mm hard drive with 32 GB WSSD faster reduction of the hard disk Cache

Unfortunately at that I disagree with Paul and I think that you may be looking for a bad motherboard, but we would like first to try to remove the disc of WSSD 32 gig.

    Here is the Manual:

    Repair manuals

See Page 40. Unfortunately, this model is a little difficult to disassemble, but measures are set out in the manual. If it is still under warranty, you can't do that. If the hard drive passes the test of F2 then I tend to think that it's not the hard drive.

  • Can I replace the optical drive of the ENVY 15 t-k000 with a hard drive?

    Hello!!

    I just got the HP ENVY 15 t-k000 http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Laptops/HP-ENVY/G0T95AV?HP-ENVY-15t

Can I replace the optical drive with an SSD (for example, Seagate 600 240 G)? Thank you!

I saw there are several videos helping to remove the top cover and replace the optical drive. But it does not expressly say that the optical drive can be replaced by a hard drive.

    Thank you very much!

    Best,

    siriusblackp

Yes you can. Here's the part you have to do with. Just remove the optical drive, add a hard disk in one of these adapters and replace it for the optical drive:

    https://www.jacobsparts.com/items/HDDBAY-02/

You may also need to swap the façade of the old optical disc to make the installation of good look.

I wouldn't use this for one SSD. An SSD belonged to the main disk space to enjoy the speed. The drive into the optical drive adapter will not be bootable and it will be not given quite as fast as the main hard drive transfer speeds. So if you have a drive in this card, a big (1 TB) and slow (5400 RPM) drive would be preferable. It will be purely for storage and it is still fast enough to see the video of for example but if you are doing video editing I would try not to edit videos from the optical drive Bay. Move them to the fastest reader first.

  • HP Envy Touchsmart j122TX 15: cloning of HARD drive for an SSD and installation on HP Envy Touchsmart 15 j122TX

I will replace an old 1 TB HHD by a new 1 TB SSD Samsung 850 EVO on my HP Envy 15 Touchsmart j122TX. I also have Acronis True Image 2015. How can I go on cloning of the HDD to the SSD and installing the SSD on my HP, implementation of the operating system in order to ensure a good performance? Please give me step by step instructions I'm inexperienced. Thank you for your support.

You need a bootable media because you cannot clone Windows player while it is in use. If you start another source (bootable support) leaving the main hard drive passive and quiet, so it can be copied sector to the new clean disk. I explained you start from the Acronis Disk and when the interface is in place you select "utility" and one of them is 'clone disk '. This is how you use the bootable disc in the cloning process.

As with the post before me you simply remove the MSSD. However, in this case the user would do a clean install. Cloning will be hover over the driver of storage for the SSD controller and will not have to load the RAID driver separately. The way you do it is much easier.  I would like to dissociate the WSSD since the main hard drive using Intel Rapid Storage (disable acceleration), remove the WSSD and start-up of the former hard drive without the WSSD in place one or two times before cloning.
