  I really need help because I am pulling all my hair out with frustration. Here are the details:

  I got a new Notebook HP TouchSmart 17 t for my birthday last week. I'm a developer and a code about 15 hours a day, and my laptop 15 inch 3 years was certainly an obstacle. Needless to say, I was very excited by envy, especially 17-inch screen.

  That excitement lasted about 2 days.

  In the first two days of use, I installed all the Windows, Windows updates 8.1, Chrome, Visual Studio, SQL Server 2012 and Management Studio, MySQL Workbench, Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Office, and Avast. The system will periodically re-start during this time, but he wasn't even epidemic.

  But from about the 3rd day, the computer began to stop more frequently. Initially, it was once every 30 minutes or so, but then increased rapidly so it restarted at or just after the login screen 9 of the 10 startups. Every 10th reboot or so, the computer will allow me to connect and I immediately try troubleshoot it before it will re-start again in 5 minutes or less.

  The only thing I could think of that changed on the 3rd day is I installed Kaspersky to replace Avast (the laptop came with a 1 year free Kaspersky subscription). I didn't know if it was the culprit, or if I had a lemon of a computer that was overheating because of hardware problems, but to be sure, I tried to uninstall it. However, the computer wouldn't stay long enough for me to do.  I couldn't even in HP Recovery to restore the system.

  Fortunately, I had burned the recovery DVDs and was able to start the recovery tool by booting from the DVD. I restored the computer configuration with minimal additional software installed (restore failed the on the first trial to 99% complete, but the second test was a success). I was really hoping this would solve the problem so I can start using my new laptop.

  No luck.

  The first time I turned on the computer after the restore, it immediately starts close to, or just after the screen connection again. As before, I am able to use the computer for 5 minutes every 10th reboot or so before it restarts. During those rare moments, I was able to enter the power management settings to turn off sleep and Hibernate, given that several forum posts which indicate as a potential culprit. However, the computer won't stay long enough to install updates of window or Windows 8.1, or to ensure that all drivers are up-to-date.

  Furthermore, I believe that the BIOS flashed when Windows 8.1 has been installed and I wonder if it needs to be reset. (I don't think the restoration process reactivates the BIOS to its original settings, but I have really no idea.)

  Anyway, here I am with a new laptop that I can not use.  I don't know if it's a driver problem, software conflict, hardware problem, problem of BIOS or something else. Needless to say, I am very frustrated and I would really appreciate suggestions.

  Tom, welcome to the forum.

  This isn't how HP computers to run.  I strongly suggest that return you it and get another HP computer that works.  If it does not work long enough to install the updates, it will very probably not get much better.  I want to help you to save your hair!

  Out of nowhere the application of new collisions a farm just after opening.  I see that the verification of updates for a second and it crashes.  It looks closed, but the first screen is there in the background, but if I click on it it just hangs.  I closed the app running in the background, but it did not help.   Firefox IS working with Windows 8 in Mode safe (I got a message saying Firefox had not been closed properly) with a new profile. If I used an existing profile, Firefox would start and then close when I went to ANY website or any just not start. I shouldn't be no CRASH REPORT has been generated, just a code updated in the LASTCRASH file.

  I have created a new profile, turned off all plugins, redonfigured my security suite of network to start automatically and restarted normally. When Windows came, I launched Firefox with the new profile, went to a few sites only to confirm it worked and then activated the security suite. No problems. I then reactivated some of my plug-ins. I had problems again when all the following plugins have been re-activated:

      -- Java Development Toolkit 7.0.250.16 10.25.2.16
      -- RealDownloader Plugin 16.0.2.32
      -- RealNetworks RealDownloader 1.3.2.28
      -- Shockwave for Director
  

  With these off and the new profile, FIrefox is now working normally. Thank you!

  We changed the addition of prefix in LabVIEW 2013 and later to add a space after the prefix. However, it does not add space if you include underscore in your prefix. Is your post copy script adding underscore everything generated code once the project created?

  Updating Windows 8.1 KB2919355 has proved to be extremely problematic for me. When he was released at the beginning of 2014 that I was not able to get installed it with the exception of two occasions, the first being several months ago and the second time, a few days ago. As the HP splash screen that normally appears during the startup process appears after about 3 seconds, Windows displays an error Stop, and for a fraction of a second will display SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error, which as I read, is related to the graphics drivers. The thing is, after the cancellation of the update (the computer in Mode safe start put Windows automatically uninstall the update and everything goes well after), then go in and uninstall the graphics driver, restart, reinstall the graphics driver and reboot again, and then reinstall the KB2919355 update, the problem recurs. I also tried to download and to install the new update of firmware for my particular DESIRE machine which was released a few days ago, but which has not helped either.

  I'm really stuck. I looked up and down, and I scoured Internet for anything that might help. I need to update KB2919355 be installed because without it, I can't book my free upgrade of Windows 10.   I started Thunderbird in safe mode by shift-click on the application icon. I found that the problem has disappeared. I uninstalled the extension 'Identity selector' (version 1.93) and restarted in normal mode and the issue had still gone. However, I then reinstalled identity selector and the issue has yet been set. So, I don't know if simply start in safe mode, then rebooting in normal mode, or if the uninstall and reinstallation of identity selector is what makes the difference.
