Not sure if it's the good advice of post, but here goes.

Just got the HP computer yesterday and installed Norton Security, Malwarebytes, and Windows Live Mail (do not like the version of Mail). Now, when I start it, I get "Unable to connect to the Windows Service" pop up and WLM crashes when I try to open it. What the DEVIL?

Had the same problem on the one I just replaced. My laptop became the 'Group Policy' error thing, but I think I fixed it.

Any suggestions? Windows is a joke!

If it is Norton Security, then it's a firewall as well and firewalls blocking things, it's that they are supposed to do. So demand for three, you said that this is probably the cause.

But if you do not want to test it, then try the system restore I've mentioned or reload the image origin, then just put in place the email again and see if it works without the other two installed, first to see if it will work with anything else in the picture.

  • Unable to connect to the windows service

I get an error "failed to connect to windows service" started reading the forums, I see this is a relatively common mistake.  I tried several suggestions without success.  I ran SFC who has corrected a mistake.  My computer does not connect to Internet "State of the unknown connection, the dependency service or group was able to start" by other threads, I tried to look at the event log, but it will be does not seem to be running.  Looking at the services I see that the DHCP client is starts but never fill in start mode.  I checked this service dependencies; AFD for Winsock, TCP/IP, the NSI proxy service protocol driver.  None of these three shows in respect of the services, so I don't know how to check if these services are running.

I also went on the Lenovo website and downloaded and installed the Intel chipset driver and driver Intel LAN Nineveh.

    Hello

It would be a good idea to run the System File Checker tool to see if you have corrupted files

"How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the files on system missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7"

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

    And Malware scan:

Search for malware, if necessary using the safe mode with networking.

  • Vista problem: "failed to connect to the windows service, Windows cannot connect to the system event.

I have reported this problem on my PC at home that connects to the internet. My laptop runs Vista Home Premium and I can't connect to the internet.
