  My HP Envy 4500 will not be black and white print with just the black cartridge. I want to use the color cartridge, which is almost empty. Result: my pages get printed in a greenish color. I can't select the option "only use black cartridge" in the print option either (it is disabled). I tried to delete the printer and re - install again but it doesn't change anything. I use a Mac with os x 10.6.

  I need to print important documents quickly, so any quick help is more than welcome!

  Use single-cartridge use the HP ENVY 4500 series with only one cartridge.

  Mode single-cartridge begins when an ink cartridge is removed from the distribution of ink cartridges.

• HP ENVY 4500 does not print a PDF file

  I have Win7 HP laptop HP ENVY 4500 all-in-One printer wireless and iMac OS X 10.9.1 desktop. It prints all good document file formats, except a PDF file. When I try to print a page of a PDF doc't, via Adobe Reader (11.0.07), it prints 6 equidistant tiny portions of the original PDF page on a single sheet. All six parties are in the same area of the upper quadrant of the original PDF page. I tried many portrait, landscape and size configurations, but in vain. It will not print PDF of my iMac and PC browsers files. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and its driver a couple of times. It installs OK without error messages, but it will not print PDF. Also, I don't get any error messages when I try to print a PDF file. I don't see any documentation supplied with the printer printer to say that this HP all-in-one cannot print PDF doc'ts, and it seems to me that it would print a PDF file until several weeks ago. Please notify.

  I was finally able to print PDF files. But it's been so long ago because it was fixed that I don't even remember what was the solution. But four possibilities come to mind: (1) is of course the "print as image file" option has been activated; (2) re-installed printer driver; (3) re-installed Acrobat Reader and ensured that browser and extensions of processing of s/w, if any, have been correctly selected for my printer. (4) corrected a wrong paper, the type, quality, or size option layout which may have resulted in a page layout or a different format from what should be the 'standard' to a PDF file. Sorry I can't be more specific than that. But if I have to determine exactly what I could do to get PDF printing to work properly, I will go straight to you. BTW, I certainly don't rely on an intermediate file conversion service or s/w to transfer my PDF files to a printable format. I hope this helps.

  Lets try to use the generic drivers and see if it helps.

  (if the printer is connected with USB)

  Click START > device and printer > add a printer > add a local printer >

  Select "Use existing Port" then Virtual USB from the drop-down menu, click on NEXT, in the production list, select HP / Hewlett-packard and in the right pane, select Deskjet 6980 and finish the wizard

  OR

  (if the printer is networked)

  Click START > device and printer > add a printer > add a local printer > choose "Create a new Port" > type in the printer IP address click NEXT, in the manufacture of the list, select HP / Hewlett-packard and in the right pane, select Deskjet 6980 and finish the wizard

  Now try printing.

  I have a file booklet that I printed from InDesign, a couple of months without problem. I went to print this week and the last pages 2 and 3 are not printing. I tried with a version of the file created by someone else. Same problem - last pages 2-3 didn't print. I tried to print to another printer, print from another computer.   An alternative:

  1. One of the manufacture of booklet scripts * for InDesign, allows to create a new InDesign doc "double width" properly imposed in the order of the brochure.
  2. Print the new Doc, or export it to PDF.

  I used my desire 4500 for a few months. Mid-printing it stopped printing and now it won't print. I went through all the steps of troubleshooting without result. (I turned the printer off/on power; unplugged power cord, reset printers, etc.) It will still print from my desktop and a laptop, but not my Macbook Air - my main computer. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

  As you have noticed one solution is to run IE9 in 32-bit mode. You can also try running the 64-bit version of IE9 as administrator to work around this problem.

  I see you are trying to print web pages of a tablet of Surface. What model printer you are trying to print to? Also, is there an error, message, etc., when you try to print?

  In general, ePrint is used when printing emails or transmission of documents / photos to the printer address, is the next how you try to print a web page?
