  Hi, my C3100 of HP all-in-One printer works very well with a black ink cartridge new 92. Once I have do not use the printer for a while, maybe a few months, it will not print. I use the printer as a standalone Copier right now. The cartridge has printed perhaps only ten pages and now it's not even a hint of ink on paper. This has happened since the purchase of the printer/copier and we had to replace the ink cartridge every time. This isn't a software problem I use the stand alone unit. I am convinced that if I install another new cartridge 92 unit will print. How can I keep the ink don't dry out, if that's even the problem? Why the ink must be dry? Should I get another type of printer for limited use? Never heard talk about the ink dry before. Please respond as I want to copy something but I'm tired of having to install a new ink cartridge in order to. Thank you for your help.

  You can try and hold the Ribbon with a few rubber bands wrapped around the cartridge of thr. Keep in a sealed bag will also help.

  The goal is to keep the print head don't dry out. When kept in a printer, the cartridge is capped when not is use to avoid it drying out.

  I see that you want to remove Protection of the cartridge"of the printer.

  This can not be removed.  It is in place to ensure that the cartridges do not run out and cause problems with the ink delivery system.  Here is a link that explains the use of ink in inkjet printers.

  I bought a new HP ENVY 4502. I have out of the box, follow the installation instructions precisel before 4.9 step. The printer says 'Cartridge Install' with a blue under circle. I can't go any further.

  I turn the machine off and on again and everything looks OK and I can continue with the installation.

  Is this normal or does indicate that there is a problem with the new printer or cartridges provided?

  Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I'd love to help you with your newly purchased 4502 envy. From your description, it seems that you have seen the 'Installation cartridge' message with a blue circle and could not move forward through the installation until you turned the printer off and on again. Your message, it sounds like once you have turned off the printer and turn it on again you were able to complete the installation, is that correct? I think that maybe there was a minor hiccup and the printer does not detect that the cartridge was installed, I don't think that it is an indication of how the printer will behave in the future.

  Is your printer still under warranty? You can check with the tool of warranty HP here.

  If this printer is connected over the network, you can enter the printer's IP address in your browser and change the settings there.  You can find the IP address of the printer from the Control Panel, click on the wireless icon.

I looked on other forums, and because I live in an apartment the IPS are slightly different because the wifi is used throughout the complex. When I manually setup wifi with the same ip addresses, connectivity still does not. I really need your help. I paid a lot of money for this printer wireless and school starts soon. I need this printer! I downloaded the latest driver. I have Mac OS X 10.8.5. Also is it possible to use my printer as a wired printer wireless with my USB cable?

  I haven't used a MAC in 10 years so I can't help you with MAC issues.  Your PC has a USB 2 port, so you should be able to connect the MAC to the printer using the USB 2 cable.  Follow these instructions.  There seems to be a lot of warnings I have gottcha.
