HP Envy 5530: cannot scan
My scanner was working fine until recently - now, I get "server connection error" when you try to scan. Have been through similar messages and tried to change the manual settings, as suggested, without success. Fine prints. VERY FRUSTRATED...

I see that you have some problems with the scanning to E-mail on your 5530 desire. I can help with that.
To correct this:
- On your printer, click web services icon in the upper left corner.
- Click settings.
- Click on delete Web Services.
- From the main screen click the icon of web services again.
- Click on accept and Yes.
- Try scanning to Email.
This should allow you to use the scan to E-mail again. As you are using an operating system Chrome note also that this will change your address ePrint. If you use ePrint or Google Cloud Print, then you need to add your printer again.
If this resolve that your problems then please let others know by clicking on accept as Solution below my post.

Installed just WANT 5530 on desktop Windows 8.1. The impression is very good - I can not scan. I find no 'manage the computer analysis' as an option when I open the all-in-One.
It seems that you have not installed the printer correctly. Please download the software and the following drivers before installing on your computer:
Do you use the 8.1 Windows pre installed or upgraded other windows? For preinstalled machines, you should have a few screens with several icons. After you install the above package, you should see the icon of the printer on the desktop.
We just put a HP Envy 5530, set up was fine, I tried installing but get the message "cannot find printer" over and over again.
I tried to download printing HP and Scan doctor but also, it does not find the printer.
I ran two reports of diagnoses on the printer, everything looks ok, I have an IP address with an IP address that suggest that it has connected wirelessely, the network report said no problems were discovered.
I tried disabling my firewall, all made once again, still nothing.
I put the IP address in the address bar, but it does not open!
I don't seem to have a printer/USB cable witht the printer so I can't tey wireless - I one of them, it was a new purchase?
I don't really have an idea what to do next, it seems I have a printer connected to the network, your laptop to talk to the network but nothing to talk with each other. I also tried to find the printer with my IPad, but he also could not find a printer.
Any ideas, im really frustrated

1 reset the printer
b press settings (wrench),
(b) press tools then use the arrorw down to access page 2/3,
(c) touch Restore Factory Defaults - wait a few minutes
2 reinstall the printer
(a) you can use the CD, but it will download the file and may take ages to download. Please download the software and the following drivers
(b) turn on the printer,
(c) right click on the downloaded file and select run as administrator.
d select Wireless and then follow the instructions on the screen.

I just bought an inkjet Envy 5530 and I really like it so far. But what happens is when I try to print pages that have been previously analysed and have some sort of texture in white (not pure white), printing is so slow, perhaps, it prints a half inch at a time, stops for 4 or 5 seconds and then print one more inch... it takes about 3 minutes to print one page...
Is this supposed to happen with the inkjet printers?
I know that with lasers, of course it is much faster, but I didn't know that the printers ink jet could be so slow!
I think it has something to do with the White is not not totally white.

Who would certainly slow printing down. The printer would take time put in detail in print.
If it happened to other types of documents, I'd be a little worried.
Have you tried printing in draft mode?
Have you tried only shades of gray, black ink mode?
first of all, I am Belgian and I speak Dutch, so if my English is not OK, sorry for that.
Last week, I bought a HP Envy 5530.
Today I tried to install the printer, within 2 minutes, the problems started.
I could set up 2 things, the language en my country.
Then I got the screen configuration, after that I got a blue screen with a picture of a on / off button and the code 089A4C38.
After the message: there is a problem with the printer. Turn the printer off and turn it back on.
I installed the HP Envy 5530 series software on my Mac, OS 10.9.3 computer. I get a message that the printer is not connected. I ran the tests wireless network, everything going. I even reinstalled the software. I am able to print successfully from my IPHONE and PC laptop to work wireless. Please help!

I see that you are having problems printing from your Mac with the 5530 LIKE 10.9.3 new, knowing it will print from an iPhone and the PC is good news.
You can try to reset the printing system on the Mac, this will delete maybe damaged driver. Mac OS x: how to reset the printing system will help you if not done before.
Once done, repair disk permissions on the Mac.
Uninstall and install the printer software and printing test. Uninstall better by going to Applications > HP > double click on uninstall and follow the steps. I suggest to use this to install with: 5530 ENVY HP e-All-in-One Printer series full feature software and drivers - 10.6 of Mac OS X v10.7, v10.8 v10.9.

I have a MAC with OSX 10.9.4 operating system and a printer HP Envy 110 with the newest driver printer HP Maverick. I can scan Mac. However, I can not run a scan directly from the printer control panel. The sign says "make sure that the HP printing software is installed. For MAC and USB connections, "Enable Scan to Computer" is automatically activated". Everyone else has had a similar problem?

- Reset the printing system. OS X Mavericks: reset the printing system.
- Verify and repair disk permissions. 12.x disk utility: repair disk permissions.

Since getting my new laptop with Windows 10, my HP Envy5530 does not scan as it did when I used Windows 8.1
I use to be able to analyze a document, save to file and then retrieve it to download without problems.
Now, I'm scanning all documents are captured in a file .pdf and offers all the benefits of being able to edit, comment and so on and I don't want to. I need to be able to scan documents so I can download the docs in various websites and this .pdf thing makes me nutz. Any idea?

10 Windows does not recognize the scanner of my all-in-one. I have no problem with it recognizing the printer and printing. I removed the device and reinstalled several times. As soon as I did this I can use the scanner in the device only, but not from the pc. When I turned off the pc, it disables the scanner and I have to start all over again with delete and reinstall. What should I do to solve the problem? Thank you.

You may need to temporarily disable any Antivirus software, just to be sure, that it is not interfere with scanning.
I have provided a paper for not being able to scan using Windows 10. If you're still having problems, try one of the applications in step 6 of the document, unless can not analyze after the upgrade, HP printers - printer after Windows upgrade problems 10

When you try to copy, this message appears "unable to print. Press OK to connect printer to update status.

I do not have broadband services am currently so not able to configure the wireless connection. But all I want to do is copy & was able to copy yesterday without these messages.

I have upgraded to Windows 10, since then my pc can't find my HP Envy 5530 wireless printer. I downloaded some sort of doctor scanning HP according to a previous post on this forum, but it does not work and my pc cannot see my printer yet. Please can someone help? My laptop is a Levono Idepad.
I see that you have some problems with printing to your craving 5530 e - all - in - one printer after upgrade to Windows 10. I can help you with that.
To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:
- Turn the printer off.
- While the printer is turned off, disconnect the power cable from the back of the router for a minute.
- When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.
- Close any programs you have open on your PC.
- In your search type in printers bar and open devices and printers.
- Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
- Click on remove the instrument.
- Repeat for all other icons of your printer listed.
- Click Add printer, and follow the prompts to add a new queue for your printer.

I'll put up a new e-all-in-one printer HP Envy 5530. I went through the installation OK, until I got to the part about the alignment of the print cartridges. It prints the alignment page, it will copy even, so I know the scanner works. I printed several pages and they all look great. But when I use the ink cartridge alignment tool it does not detect the alignment page in the scanner.
Yes, it is face down on the scanner
Yes, the cartridges are installed OK
Yes, printing seems good
Yes, the scanner can scan and print pages, even the alignment page

Well, too bad. I unplugged, moved the card to a regular wall outlet instead of a power strip, and it is turned on, ask to do a print alignment.
I did, it printed the page, I put the page on the scanner and it completed the alignment.
I don't know what the problem was earlier, but it worked this time.
I have a HP Envy 5530. It is connected to my laptop wireless. At first, I tried to use the programs installed on my laptop Lenovo scan... scanner not connected. Then, I downloaded the application for the 5530 scanner part.
At this point, the scanner is recognized. When you try a scan... It starts and then has a status of "General failure."
Then, I connected the printer to the computer with a cable... same result.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you can copy, run the printing and scanning doctor. Printing HP and doctor Scan is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly solve common printing, scanning and connectivity problems, including but not limited to:
USB: Check that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product works properly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working properly.
Device Status Test: checks the errors of the device, such as paper, paper jams, stands transport and paper issues and provides instructions to resolve the error.
Driver: checks the driver missing or corrupt files.
Device Manager: check the problems in Device Manager that could prevent printing.
Device online: check if the product has been suspended or put in offline and then sets the State back in line if necessary.
Print queue: checks and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a newspaper for printing waiting to print).
Port Match: check the port settings for the HP product.
Device conflicts: check the conflicts with other drivers, such as the other brands of printers.
Ink issues: check the cartridges and the ink levels for issues that affect the print quality.
Print settings: check and adjust the print quality settings.
Test print: print a test page for the assessment of the print quality and provides options for cleaning and if necessary print head alignment.
Scan tests: check the scanning mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

If this does not resolve the problem, after back and let me know if there are all the symbols except the Green checkmarks and what they are next of course. The key is not always easy to identify the key and check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only the Green checkmarks (), the tool did not find any problem.
If you see green sides (), the utility identified a problem and fix it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and requires monitoring of the user, but the step was ignored.
If you see a red X (), follow the onscreen instructions to fix the problem.

Hi there when I try to scan the overview screen appears correct, but when the scan sends to the computer, I'm not receving the whole scan and all I get is the header of the page and its very big I get 3 images with three different headers.
Ive scanned my passport and he sent that fine and correct.

I understand that, in the scanning of your e-all-in-one printer of HP ENVY 5530 to your computer Windows 8 you are not able to get the scanning full page appears correctly on your computer. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. The HP scanning software is probably set to an option of cropping so rather than scan the entire document into your computer, the software is cropping some sections. To ensure that all HP scanning settings are configured correctly for the scans of success please can I you follow the steps below.
1. on the desktop of your computer, please click on the HP Envy printer Assistant icon
2. When The HP Printer Wizard opens, click scan a Document or Photo
3. in the HP scanning software click Photo to the file or Document to the file and check the setting of the Scan size above left. Try this setting on any scanning area.
4. prior to Scan, click on Advanced settings down right. In the window parameters advanced search to optimize the quality of the Image at the top. If this box is checked, please uncheck it. If it is not checked, please check. To the substantive aspect for car culture. If this box is checked, please uncheck. If it is currently disabled, please check. Click OK at the bottom. Click analysis.
Scan from the front panel of your printer will mimic just the settings under the HP software on your computer. Once you set the settings in the HP scanning software they should take effect when you scan from the front panel of your printer.

The printer HP support only interface of scanning of Apple ImageKit (ICA) on Mac OS X, Adobe Photoshop 10 (CS3) support only the scanning interface Twain.
Scan of the ImageKit Apple support was only added to later versions of Photoshop, for example Photoshop CS6... you will not be able to scan directly from earlier versions, you can see this document for example:
