HP Envy 5540: HP Envy 5540 connect after upgrading the motherboard

I bought a HP Envy 5540 a month ago.  Installed fine on Windows 10, full software, all features runnning well etc.

I had to update the motherboard on the weekend. made when the software did not work properly, gave options to connect wireless and USB printers only. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, not better.

Printing HP Scan DR detects the printer, but says he isn't connected and downloads and runs the installation of the complete software that gives only to a USB connection and wireless options. HP EasyStart also believes that it is, so try to do an installation of the software which again gives options to connect printers connected USB or wireless. Whatever I can't do the wired ethernet connection option I received previously.

Since this circle 3 - 4 times.

I'm guessing this has to do with the fact that the new motherboard has a new network controller (RealTek), but I can't find any problems. Everything else works well.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated

Hello

Thank you for using the forum.

Suggest the following:

1 uninstall the software.

2. download software COMPLETE features of this link to win 10 (if you have already done this, skip this step):

3. go to your printer and network to restore the default values.

> Go to settings

> Network configuration

> Restore default network

4. connect your Ethernet network cable

5. install the FULL features software

6. in connectiviy screen, select 'wired (Ethernet).

7 printer should be able to be found

8. complete the installation

Hope that helps.

Try to update the BIOS again. After that make sure that the wireless and Bluetooth lights is lit. Also download and installed the drivers of bluetooth and verification.

After the BIOS also check in BIOS if Bluetooth is turned on:

  • Windows will not start after replacing the motherboard

To begin, I must say that I am pretty clueless when it comes to computer skills.

To summarize, I sent my CPU to a repair shop when my computer has stopped working. I removed my hard drive before starting the repairs because it contains confidential data.  They have narrowed the cause to a faulty motherboard and replaced by a new dissimilar.
At the store, the guy had a vista 64 bit recovery disc so I have it home and tried to fix it. He said it will be a breeze and relatively bug free. As part of the Startup Repair, I tried to drive the Startup Repair, and tests were all successful except one. An error of diagnosis readings
"Unspecified system configuration changes may have caused the problem.
Repair action: repair and checking the integrity of system files
    Result: failed. Error code 0 x 490
    time taken = 720023 ms
Everything I've done has led to a brief blue screen to the Windows loading screen and then it restarts itself.
I also tried to restore to the previous two points, but it has also led to the square - a brief blue screen after the loading screen and restarts on its own windows. I'm not ready to reinstall vista and I can't afford to do it too, because I don't have enough disk space to perform another installation. Nor am I willing to reformat one of my two disks.
If you need additional information on the specifications of the material that must be provided, ask me.
IM at my end intelligence now, and I really hope to solve this problem.
    Thank you.

    Hello

I'm sorry, but you have to completely reinstall the operating system after replacing the motherboard with a different motherboard.

"Startup Repair" is exactly that: a start NOT a repair system repairs

What has happened, it is the operating system on your hard disk contains the drivers for the old motherboard and does not and you can't change drivers in doing what you do.

The only way to solve this problem is to reinstall Vista.

You wipe the hard drive and restart and make sure that the repair shop gave you the disc to install the new drivers of motherboard after you reinstall vista or download on the website of the manufacturer of the motherboard.

And here a question for you to consider, too.

If you bought a copy of Vista retail yourself, you can use the method above to a new installation and then install the new disk motherboard drivers.

But, if your computer is a trademark of purchased manufacturer, HP, Toshiba, etc., you can not change the motherboard that the license of Vista OEM is stuck at motherboard the origin of the manufacturer that it has been installed on and now you canceled your Vista license.

    See you soon.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

I had a new HP spare parts for my HP ENVY 17-3290NR after installation I realized that in hp say assistance:
HP pavilion dm3 instead of hp envy, series and product number say 123456789
so I can't use my drive recovery or the app by default because I've read that I must retatoo the motherboard, but hp do not provide me with dmifit or something similar, then what can do? I call the tech support of hp and they just told me to go back to that motherboard despite the part is correct, he's simply wrong information

I retattooed my motherboard using dmifit and now everything works fine

  • Problem of LTE connectivity after upgrade to iOS 10-SE

Do not know if everyone knows this, but after upgrade to iOS 10 on my iPhone SE when I leave one area LTE and go to the services area or area No. less than LTE and re - enter a LTE area, I have no service. There is no service or reports 4g, but when I use an app, it says no network not connected. I tried all the usual stuff... Restored from backup, cleared cache, reset the network connections, did a hard reset, nothing works. The only thing that comes to LTE turns the phone then turn it back. All this experience? I have never had this issue before moving to iOS 10.

I think you have the same problem described here:

After briefly losing service, iPhone will fail to connect to the cellular network until you restart

  • vCenter does not connect after upgrade to 2.0

I just upgraded to version 2.0 GA and after that it's over I had a message on it is not not able to connect to one of my vCenter servers.  It worked before the upgrade.

When I try and test the connection I get the following error: transport HTTP error: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: java.security.cert.CertificateException: certificate is not consistent with the constraints of the algorithm

I restarted vCenter services without a change in behavior.  vCenter version is 5.0 Update 2

The problem has been resolved.  It is thanks to our vCenter server with a 512-bit SSL on it (was a previous update to 4.0).

Java's LogInsight 2.0 security settings need to be at least 1024-bit SSL.  As a temporary work around support changed settings only need a 512-bit key.  It needed a reboot of the Insight journal.

I'm fine with this fix since we planned to deploy a new server vCenter in the coming months.

  • Can't connect after upgrade to ESXi 5

After upgrading ESX 4.0.0. for ESXI 5, we are not able to connect console to esx server, there are two choices F2 or F12. I have already set up all the parameters F2, as Ip address, host name...

Could you please tell how to get or connect to the console command root? even I can't use mastic to apply commands.

    Kind regards

    Ahmed

Hello.  Even if SSH has been activated before the upgrade then reactivated later.

Select F2 and log in as root.

In the menu, select Troubleshooting Options

Select enable the ESXi environment and press ENTER - this allows the shell local ESXi (use Alt - F1 to access)

Select enable SSH and press ENTER - this allows SSH

SSH can also be activated from vSphere Client host-> Configuration-> Security Profile

  • Want to 800-060: reactivation after replacing the motherboard

I bought a HP Envy 800-060 with Windows 8 pre - install Amazon in July of 2013. It was an incredible computer since that time, and when the free update of Windows 8 for Windows 10, I did immediately released. Recently, however, the motherboard has failed on the computer. It would not stay same POSITION, and after much troubleshooting, I finally decided to replace the motherboard. Now that the computer is running again, I guess that the motherboard change was sufficient for the operating system to think that it is no longer enabled. I was never provided with a key of Activation of OS (Win8 has been pre-installed), and Microsoft has suggested that I contact HP to find the original key. I've looked everywhere on the chassis and inside the tower for a valid Windows activation key, nothing helps. I tried to find a phone number to call for support, but my product is outside the guarantee. I don't need advice or troubleshooting tips (so I don't pay the $59.99), all I need is my activation key valid Windows based on my serial number of the product. Anyone know the best way to achieve HP with this problem and have it is resolved?

    Thanks in advance!

The unfortunate, is that your original product key has been incorporated in the firmware original by HP motherboard UEFI when the PC was built.  There is no way to recover this key now.

HP retains no record of keys to individualized product corresponding to individual computers, so they won't be able to provide you with the original key - and they are under no obligation to provide you with a SECOND key, that you didn't do the replacement of HP hardware.

With the product now being out of warranty, it's really call HP or not you upload support - and the experience I have had with older equipment-, they do that, there's just no way around IDs.

HP customer support is really the only way you have to get support.  If they don't help you for free, because your PC is out of warranty, there is nothing we can do about it on this forum.

  • a610n - fan error of the system after replacing the motherboard

    Hi all

I just replaced the motherboard on my system (phone http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware/M2N68-LA-Narra-2-Replacement/td-p/3711774) and now I get this error when starting: Fan failure system, PC service to avoid any damage. I thought it was the CPU fan but he was running and after some research, I realized that he could talk a case fan.

As a side note, the motherboard, I had was a little different and missing 2 connections that seem to be the front mic/headphone and USB ports.

Now, the case's fan then what really is the problem? Any ideas anyone?

    Thank you

    -Panos

The rev3.02 of M2N68 - THE Committee a case fan rear 3 poles. See here.

The CPU fan is a 4 pin cable and attaches to the appropriate header to 4 pins on the motherboard. See the representative schema above.

As for you, another question, the front USB port attaches to a USB connector on the card.

  • No VMnet0 network bridged after upgrade the host to win 8.1

Hi, I have many VM that worked well, and then I upgraded to VM Workstation 10 the other day and all right.

I ran a few VM after and the network worked. All VMS are defined as connected by a bridge.

Then I updated the PC windows host 8 to 8.1. Now, when I run VM workstation and run a virtual machine, I have no network connection.

and I get an error (see screenshot) on no VMnet0 does not.

If I try and add the network editor VMnet0 and jumpered value or change VMnet1 bridge I get an error see screenshot #2

No idea what is wrong or what to check. Never had this kind of problem before.

I checked the services on the host computer and found no VMnet services.

I have no configuration VMnet0 virtual network editor in and if I try and add that I can't put it as filled. I don't know, I got VMnet

before installation I think that I just checked Bridged in the configuration of the VM and it just worked before, but do not have now.

    Thanks for any help

    Rainey

    Too bad.

I got it to work, I closed all the VM.

Network editor opened and restored by default and it's working now.

I searched and read that in another post.
