  I read on your desire 7640 does not although you receive an "Out of Paper" error, the printer showed as 'offline' and currently cannot add printer on your Mac with 10.7.

  Here's what I would recommend. Try troubleshooting the equipment first, because if there is a problem with the unit, this will lead to software problems and troubleshooting cycle can get tedious.

  1. power reset the printer and make sure the printer is plugged directly into the wall, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on.

  Turn on the printer.
  With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
  Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  Wait at least 15 seconds.
  Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
  Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
  If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

  2. try to make a copy of the front of the printer. If the work of copies successfully, go to step 3, if the copies do not work, tell me what happens when you try to make them as there is most likely a hardware problem.

  3. from your Mac:

  1. Reset the printing system
  2. Repair disk permissions
  3. Restart the Mac.

  5. Print from text editing and other test applications and also try to scan from HP Scan/HP Utility.

  I recently bought a HP ENVY 4500 printer I it connected wireless through e-print HP, but it does not print any PDF files or documents web page, it would only print Microsoft Office documents. • HP Envy 7645: HP Envy 7645 does not print after installation (Windows 8 64-bit)

  I have a weird problem with the HP Envy 7645. After going through the movements to print anything, documents word to pages web, the printer does not print the document and somehow work not even end in the windows print queue. I ran all the diagnosis of HP and there is no connectivity problem, be it wireless or USB connected. No one else in my family have printing problems (we use XP, use another 8.1 and a mac user). The printer prints a test page and a page of diagnosis of the HP software, but will fail to print a windows test page 8. Also the windows 8 printer troubleshooting tool detects any problems with the printer. I'm a bit of a loss.

  I saw a similar question on these cards with the HP Envy 5530 and wonder if it should be the same solution. However, after watching this Board, it requires the name change of a different .dll extension that I don't see with the 7645, but I was wondering if it could be something similar. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

  UPDATE: I solved the problem yesterday, but not by the above method, I had tried earlier. I tried a solution for the 5530 envy and it worked. I completed all the steps, including get adobe flash. Only, I have encountered a problem and has been updated to adobe flash. It would download, but as soon as it starts to install, I get a message: "this user has not sufficiently privleges." If you get this error, I'll post the links I used to solve the problem below the solution. I do not guarantee they will work, but they did for me. If not, just follow the step by step solution below:

  EDIT: I forgot to mention that, before using the links to solve the problem of permission with adobe, I had created another account to administrator in Windows 8 and activate the default Administrator account, which is hidden. None of these solutions had solved the problem, but you can try these first, despite the fact that the difficulty of a temp.

  Went to another bank and purchased and EPSON.

  Unboxing, put in place and was printing within 15 minutes.

  I understand that you use a 7640 ENVY of HP e-all-in-one with a Windows 10 computer and printer whenever you try to print it trying to send a fax you. I would like to help with that.

  It sounds a bit like the "Fax - HP ENVY 7640" is selected or set as the default printer instead of just the "HP ENVY 7640.

  After clicking on file > print to open the print dialog box make sure that the "HP ENVY 7640" is selected. If the "Fax - HP ENVY 7640" is selected, check if the "HP ENVY 7640" is available. If this is the case, right click and you should be able to set it as the default printer and select it.

  If the "HP ENVY 7640' is not available in the print dialog box, you can also go to file devices and printers from the Windows Control Panel and set it as the default, it.

  If it only shows the "Fax - HP ENVY 7640" in the devices folder and printers, you should be able to right click on the printer icon and go to "Fax - HP ENVY 7640" for the "HP ENVY 7640".

  Ink cartridge information after doing all the recommendations of HP:

  Once you check the vents turn the cartridge and check the underside near the opening of the ink.  They can be of four plastic tabs near the opening are resurrected.  Make sure that the raised tabs are removed and made flush with the body of the cell.  This will cause the cartridge do not do sit properly in all of the print head and cause air that are expected.  This will affect especially the black ink cartridge.

  I have Win7 HP laptop HP ENVY 4500 all-in-One printer wireless and iMac OS X 10.9.1 desktop. It prints all good document file formats, except a PDF file. When I try to print a page of a PDF doc't, via Adobe Reader (11.0.07), it prints 6 equidistant tiny portions of the original PDF page on a single sheet. All six parties are in the same area of the upper quadrant of the original PDF page. I tried many portrait, landscape and size configurations, but in vain. It will not print PDF of my iMac and PC browsers files. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and its driver a couple of times. It installs OK without error messages, but it will not print PDF. Also, I don't get any error messages when I try to print a PDF file. I don't see any documentation supplied with the printer printer to say that this HP all-in-one cannot print PDF doc'ts, and it seems to me that it would print a PDF file until several weeks ago.   I was finally able to print PDF files. But it's been so long ago because it was fixed that I don't even remember what was the solution. But four possibilities come to mind: (1) is of course the "print as image file" option has been activated; (2) re-installed printer driver; (3) re-installed Acrobat Reader and ensured that browser and extensions of processing of s/w, if any, have been correctly selected for my printer.   I was talking with some of my colleagues and we would like you to try the following steps.  Once you have completed the steps please try again to print from iPhoto.

  (1) Please reset your printing system, I have included a document on how to do it. Please be aware that this reset deletes all print settings and pending print jobs from your Mac.

  (2) in the "printers and scanners' click on the '+' and select 'Add another printer or scanner' options

  

  (3) select your desire 4500 and at the bottom where it says "USE:" Please change to the Envy of HP Photosmart series.

  Hi @fchatur,

  From your description, I see that your Mac is unable to see your printer. I'd be happy to help you with this. We'll leave the router and unplug the power cable (NOTE: do not reset the router.), and then do the same with the printer and shut down the computer. After a minute, plug in the router, wait to fully turn on, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light become solid. Once the router and the printer are on, go ahead and re - turn on the computer. This will refresh the network connection.

  If the problem persists, you might want to restore the default settings of the printer network and reconfigure the wireless Wizard.
