HP Envy 7640: Wizard of the printer does not - HP Envy 7640 UDCString_UDCName error

I am able to print, scan, copy and fax on my HP Envy 7640 printer very well.  However, when I click the icon HP Envy 7640 for the Printer Wizard just to check my ink level, for example, I get a script error.

Before I can even click on YES or NO, the screen changes to show the following. There is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark next to this error:

I connect to Internet through LAN.  My printer is connected to my pc through USB.  I do not use of wireless.

I did not any changes to software or driver.

I read through many solutions in this forum and tried several.  I disabled my firewall and antivirus first.  None of them have worked. I tried the SCLiteFix_299026.exe, the missing persons files difficult.  Did not work.  When I try to uninstall the printer and reinstall, I can't do that either.  I get error 2503 and 2502.

I want to just my printer wizard to work and have been unable to find a solution.

Maybe not all of these steps were necessary, but here's what I did and it worked! :

(1) open HP Support Assistant icon on desktop.  It is a white question mark in a blue circle.

(2) HP Support Assistant should show all HP devices.  Find your printer and click on UPDATES.  (Mine had no updates pending, but I clicked on UPDATE anyway)

3) click on Diagnostics and tools

4) click on HP print and Scan doctor.  Select your printer and click NEXT

(5) you will get DIFFICULTY PRINTING and SCANNING of DIFFICULTY.  I chose the DIFFICULTY of ANALYSIS

(6) when he finished, a screen opens and says "If you still have problems with your product, here are a few options for additional support.   Physically, I removed the printer cable to the USB port and choose "UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL with the latest version of the software".  I wasn't expecting to work, but he did.

(7) I rebooted.  When my pc came, I began to other programs or applications.  I have disabled the firewall software and anti-virus temporarily.

(8) I have re-inserted cable printer to a USB port

(9) I open the HP Envy 7640 installation disc and click with the right button on the file: E7640x64.msi.  I clicked on install

(10) software installed without error.  I then went to my office, clicks on the icon HP ENVY 7640 series... and VOILA!  My Printer Wizard now works!

(11) I turned on my firewall and anti-virus back and I'm IN business

    Reset the printing system:

    -Go to System Preferences > print & Scan
    -Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.

    I do not work unless your new router has the same SSID and password wireless as the old. Consult your printer documentation to find out how to handle the situation. For example, some Lexmark wireless printers have a program called Configuration Utility Wireless in the Lexmark folder under all programs on the start menu that is used to set up the printer when changes are made to the wireless network.

    This is a question for CANON - those who make and take over the device in question.  Everything you describe indicate that this is NOT a computer / software somehow problem and the problem would be the same if the device was not connected to any computer at all, an OS X one or a Linux one...

    I suggest out of ink, check you removed all the "stickers" on the ink that * need * to be removed to work properly and make sure that the ink properly.  Print the pattern check nozzles and then to make sure that everything is installed properly:

    1. Make sure that the power is turned on.

    1. Load a sheet of A4 or letter paper format in the front tray.

    1. Open the output tray extension, open the paper output tray, and then extend the output paper support.

    1. Print the nozzle check pattern.

    (1) press on the button in Maintenance for poster has.

    (2) press the color or black.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you have recently formatted your PC running the Windows 7 operating system and now you cannot print to your F2410 not HP's Deskjet.

    I would like you to follow the steps below:

    Please, try disabling your firewall and perform a clean boot. Now, follow the steps below:

    1. disconnect the USB key if you use a direct connection.

    2. remove the software HP Deskjet F2410 not to uninstall from the control panel of your computers an option of the program.

    3. restart the computer.

    4. make sure that all them that software Deskjet F2410 has disappeared from the list of programs, but also your HP folder listed under all programs in your Start Menu.

    5. now, go ahead and download the software and drivers for your Deskjet F2410 (DO NOT connect USB until the software prompts you to):

    6. go ahead and print a test page.

  • 8600, connected HP says there is a problem but the printer does not work

    I try to use a 8600 e - all - in - one. It replaced a 8500 who has never had a problem with eprint to an email address or as a printer of google cloud.

    With the new printer, when I get it in hpConnected correctly identifies the printer and it's e-mail address. He says he's online.     I finally solved this problem. I reinstalled an old Windows laptop-based printing software and now hpConnected said there is no problem. It's strange because the printer is not physically connected to any PC. It is wireless only.

    To solve the google cloud printing problem, I disabled the Web Services and then reset the default wireless property. When I went through the Setup Wizard again, it gave me a new code of acceptance. I got to hpConnected and then added the printer to the Google Cloud Print/HP dialogue page.

    Now, things work as expected.

    All of a sudden, my printer does not print in black. I replaced the cartridge with a new black cartridge with the same result. All other colours print fine. I checked the settings on the device and it shows that the black cartridge is full.

    In the paper here troubleshooting steps can help solve the black does not print on your Photosmart 5510.  Be sure to check the events on the cartridge, as described in the document.  If you go through all the troubleshooting steps without resolving the question then can help to manually clean the print head as shown in the post here.

  • I have a Dell (Dell V305) printer that is only a year. He has been guaranteed. What was happenning, is that the printer does not print up what I uninstall/reinstall.

    I'm having a problem with my printer does not print.  What I do I uninstall the printer and reinstall then it works very well for a week or two and then the problem starts again until I have reinstall the printer again.  The printer has ink, so it's not the problem. That's how I know it does not print: when I try to print a cartridge level page show empty and I can't print.  Yet once, when I uninstall/reinstall the printer, then the catridge levels show complete and then I can print.  I thought that maybe it could be that some issue that when I uninstall the printer that not all components are removed.  I uninstall not uninstall printer functionality and not the Add/Remove Control Panel.  Uninstall from the control panel would solve this problem?  Please notify.  Thank you, John

    2 when was the last time it was working fine?

    3. do you have security software installed on the computer?

    4. you receive an error message when printing?

    I suggest you run the fixit tool available in the link when you are unable to print on the computer and check if it helps below.

    If the previous step fails then I would suggest that you uninstall the software from the printer to the computer using the method mentioned in the link below and then install drivers from the Dell site.

    I have a HP Laserjet III printer that I used with my HP laptop. The computer has Vista Ultimate. The printer has a parallel port only. A parallel to USB cable port was placed on the printer that the computer has no parallel port. Several years ago I installed the printer on this computer and it was working fine until yesterday when I accidentally deleted the printer when I was looking for cancel a print job. I tried the printer function added in the Control Panel, but the test is given a printing error message or disappears without printing. Printer drivers are suspected to be part of windows, but I can't find printer drivers, there is a HP Laserjet III printer installed to LPT1, but this computer has no LPT so not sure how it was installed.     When you deleted the printer you may have removed the entries between the usb adapter to the computer and the printer.  If you have a disk provided with the adapter which can help you get it going again.  You're dealing with two objects here and it is possible we won't communicate again.  Try another card kind of force the computer to see the new map and help you get the printer working again.  There probably many registry enteries that have been established when you plugged the adapter between the two devices together.  Some of these entries went when you deleted the printer.  One more thing, you can try is to do a restore of the computer to a date before you deleted the printer.  Who will restore the registry at this time and even the printer.  I would establish a restore point before going back just in case you lose something more important with dating back.
