HP ENVY dv7-7338ea Notebook PC Driver Support after recovery

Hello

My laptop was starting to slow down so I did a reinstall of windows and wiped my own SSD (I replaced the drive with an SSD HARD original earlier).

For this reason, I don't have a backup partition containing my drivers.

My fingerprint sensor has stopped working.  He said: an error everytime I try to use it even if my fingerprint has been saved in my user as a sign in option accounts.

Where can I get the driver for this?

Also, I now no longer have HP Recovery Manager who had all the drivers.  Where can I download this?

PS. I downloaded all the drivers on the HP site associated with my laptop notebook drivers here

These are the only two things that no longer work, and it would be useful to sort.

See you soon

You can not download the HP Recovery Manager, because it is only available on the installation of original HP and HP recovery media. Please use the support of HP recovery, you created earlier to return the computer to a factory State. If you create your HP recovery media when you first set up your computer, please contact the official support of HP in your region / country, via the HP portal to support all over the world, to see if the HP recovery support is available for your computer.

Please post of Device Manager "Hardware ID" (text only) for all remaining missing or unknown devices, as shown in the example below.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • ENVY of HP dv7-7234nr Notebook PC: HP ENVY dv7-7234nr Notebook PC and Intel 320 600 GB

Hello so I bought a new Intel 320 600 GB SSD and went to put it in my laptop, I have a crucial 240 so I'm upgrading. I put in get my recovery disks and launch the installation. Now there are a few different things that have been happing (because I've done a few times and I took it to a computer store to try because I was pulling my hair out) then one thing is takes like 1 hour to load everything and then stands up and says: IMPOSSIBLE! Another is it take too long to load all over go on udates and FAIL! It loads real slow, I did a check on said SSD that's fine. I got another thing same drive. So I was wondering I missed something maybe a driver I need to download? Maybe update my BIOS, I only did that because I can't find an update but haven't looked really hard. I went to the HP site and did all the updates it. My 240GB works great never had a problem it right to the top and boots fine. Maybe the firmware on the SSD, I saw something about this someplae. Any help would be great thanks

Sides are good. As I said it is an older SSD and just may not be configured to work with current storage controllers.

  • dv7 7338ea: recnot recognized the media start Recovery Console

I did a backup and recovery media set before installing a second operating system in legacy (from bios) for dual boot mode.

The second operating system starts up fine, but the options of grub2 to boot win8. 1 and win8. 1 recovery mode gives the error "windows couldn't boot...". »

I see all my data from drive C: is there. It seems to me that just the trunk has been corrupted.

I put in the first disc of recovery and boot from that medium. The option to check the disc I choose command line. Then, I try to run "bootrec /fixboot" but told me that bootrec is not recognized as an internal or external command.

Where can I find bootrec? Which would normally be my problem.

I don't want to take an option to format the drive. That would be stupid.

After that, I installed fedora 21, which is UEFI on Qubes. Still no luck the windows startup that gives the same error. Fedora trouble when I installed the driver from rpmfusion nvidia. So I reinstalled fedora and restarted.

    Start-up went directly into windows.

In conclusion, bcdboot is the key to fixing screws this GPT UEFI boot upward. Installing a bootloader UEFI since Fedora seemed to update things.

I wouldn't have to reinstall windows for something like that. Maybe an option in recovery media to replace the boot for UEFI data would be good?

  • HP ENVY TS m7 Notebook PC - no audio after update of SP63407 and SP63555

My computer is an HP update this morning and installed SP63407 and SP63555 for IDT High Def Audio Driver and I have no noise since.  It is running Windows 8.1.    I did reboot but stil no sound.   Please notify.

I managed to get into device drivers and cancelled the audio driver to the previous version.  My sound is back.  Must be a problem with the service packs.  Unfortunately it probably will happen again when he made his next update, but for now it works.

  • optical drive disappears after recovery from sleep mode

While recovery mode S3 sleep and looking at windows Explorer, a green bar progresses inside the address bar. During this time my DVD RW is present on the screen under the heading devices with removable storage, but as soon as the green bar comes to an end, DVD RW and even the devices with removable storage section disappear.

This occurs only on standby S3 and I have to reboot in order to keep my DVD RW.

The DVD - RW is a disk IDE (LG Super Multi DVD drive GSA - 4163B) with an IDE-> Sata converter to allow the use of the sata cable to the motherboard.

Any suggestions as to why this happens in sleep mode S3 only?

What is the brand and model of the computer?

I suggest you to run the Fixit described in the article and verify.

  • HP ENVY DV7-7212nr motherboard Possible failure?

    HP DV7-7212nr ENVY

    ------------------------

    • Windows 8 (factory) upgraded to Windows Pro 8.1 thru Windows Store.
    • 8 GB RAM DDR3
    • NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 2 GB GDDR5
    • 750 GB HARD drive with 32 GB WSSD Cache
    • Ralink RT3290 wireless card (beginning to remove connections a few days before this happened)

Last night, I was using my laptop normally and he sat to play a game. During the game, he's dead, and not even think, I just returned it to my office for the next day.

Well, today, I rebooted it and went to turn it on and I have almost nothing! The power light stays on and the hard disk activity is solid for about 2 seconds then turn off. The screen is blank, there is no blinking or beep codes and the WiFi light does not change color indicating that the computer has at least started.

Being a computer scientist, I removed the RAM and reinstalled it. That did not help. I also tried to boot without the hard drive is connected. That does not help either. I also tried the Win + B BIOS recovery with my hard drive and a USB drive and no luck there dry. The last (possibly) worst part is... I removed the RAM and lit without it and still, no code blink or beep.

At this point, I believe that my laptop has a failed motherboard, but I'm just checking from now until I have the chance to call HP support if there is anything else I can try. My warranty expires in three weeks only, if at least it happened before, not after.

In addition, no one knows the direct phone number to the HP support which is on the ground in the USA. I never had a good turn-out speaking with the support of offshore and would like to work with someone who can help me better right off the bat.

    Thank you!

I agree, not getting an error with ram removed is a disturbing sign. With regard to the contact options I suggest filling out the form at the bottom of page. That should give you the choice of phone number or the Chat option to contact Technical Support.

  • activate the AHCI mode on Envy Dv7 - 7398ca with SSD

    Year old i7 envy Dv7 - 7398ca notebook with SSD Samsung 840 Pro x 256.  Windows 8.1

I've updated to the SSD shortly after I purchsed the laptop.

No problem except the Samsung SSD Wizard software keeps tagging me as AHCI mode is disabled and must be enabled and I do not see it in the BIOS.

Or I see anything that relates in the device as IDE Manager or other.

It seems that the SSD is optimizing not itself based on the fact that it considers that AHCI is disabled.

I apologize for the issue being this topic seems to be beaten to death over time, but I do not see what relates to this model or similar.

    Thanks for all the ideas.

The system is set to ahci or RAID mode. You can tell that by opening the Device Manager and look at the storage controllers. Anyway it is optimized for SSDS and TRIM is activated. You can simply remove the program from Samsung and rest assured that your SSD is optimized.

    HP ENVY m6-1104se Notebook PC

Please help I want this driver on Windows 7-64 bit

    Hello:

You need the graphics driver, and it will also install the graphics card intel too.

This package provides the AMD graphics driver high definition (HD) and Catalyst Control Center for models of laptop computers that are running an operating system supported. For laptops equipped with switchable graphics modes, this package contains the drivers for the two graphics (GPU). Switchable graphics allow users to switch between a graphical power mode (normally used under the power of the battery) and a mode of graphics performance. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

Thank you very much for the reply. Problems of compatibility with resection I expect the drive size (in GB)? Thank you.

I don't think so. The only problem, what could happen is that the recovery disks don't work because the original hard drive was too big. However, this is not a problem. You can perform a new installation using the original version of Windows and the product key from the sticker on the laptop. In this case do not activate it online but wait for an activation message (activate by phone) who wakes up early after the new installation.

  • SimplePass works no-ENVY HP dv7-7202tx Notebook

Hi - I have updated my PC Windows 8.1 times back and had no problem with simplepass initially. I then suddenly could not drag my finger and sign in.

I read through some of the conversations are realize others has had a problem too and saw some suggestions to resolve and follow up and was able to download an updated driver and it worked fine until last week when even once it has stopped working.

I am disappointed that HP has NOT solved which I think should have been done long back because people are complained about beginning of 2013 (or before).

I am at a loss to know what do it because, I depended on using this for a lot of my web sites etc. (keep my password in place course), but now I can't use my finger print recognition to make and need to type my master password every time.

I bought this computer for ease of managing my security but HP made me lose confidence in their products, given the battle I faced.

I'm worried about installing any software updated as indicates it a solution because I'm not sure it will solve the problem without deleting my files from data password etc.

The HP team can advise you and if possible contact me directly for this problem.

I chose to discuss this pubically because I think that HP is lying on I think it's a problem they have NOT delt with more proactive in reaching out to the loyal customers like me.

    Hi @noelhensman ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP ENVY dv7-7202tx

Laptop and having problems with the software HP SimplePass Identity Protection could not initialize correctly. I read all the patches in the post previous that you me bound. Thanks for all the information, it is very useful to know what you've already tried.

First thing I would check enable biometric support in this document.

If this does not help, I would say to uninstall HP SimplePass and reinstalled the latest version for Windows 8.1.

    Hope it suits it.

    Thank you.

  • HP Envy Dv7-7255dx could not use records to Support HP; All testing equipment

    Hi all

I'm trying to fix my friend computer that crashed about 2 weeks ago.

My current problem is that the system recovery disks did not work at all on the 3 times I tried the system restore on this device.

I think there may be a BIOS problem, because it's the only option in addition to the hardware failure I try hard.  I contacted HP support to try to get the BIOS update file or a file of recovery, and they said that they cannot provide for me, so my only option with HP is to send in support and the unit is out of warranty.

The main thing I am looking for is the BIOS file so that I can reinstall the BIOS to see if it's actually the question before having to spend money to get this repaired laptop.

I searched a lot and have been unable to find any BIOS file for this exact model, so if anyone has any ideas as to where I could find it, or should I try, it would be greatly appreciated.

Model: HP ENVY dv7 Notebook PC

    Product ID: C6N73UA #ABA

    BIOS Date: 03/10/2013

    Thank you!

Install fresh new windows, removing all partitions, and you will have 0 problems.

    Thank you
    ALF

Yes, the hard drive must be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If it is not in warranty, you can buy a SATA notebook hard drive retail. Don't forget to get one with a capacity at least as large as the original 750Go hdd to use HP recovery discs to reinstall your operating system and software. It may be more grand, but of no small ability.
