  This could be a setting in your profile (or power saving wireless mode) power setting?

  I had problems where an update (from HP, not Windows) changed (my) default settings for power profiles.

  Can you restore back a few days or a date prior to the problem? This would test if the a software update changed something...

• HP Envy 110 - no Internet access wireless

  Problem: when you activate wireless on my desire to 110 hp, a server connect error indicator doesn't mention no Internet access

  My computer has access to the Internet and it does not work as you can see on this post.  I checked my router (Cisco LinkSys E2500) wireless settings and they seem to be correct.  I even tried to disable my Windows, Norton firewall and on the router, but always to the Wireless Service is unable to access the Internet.

  START HERE: Troubleshooting & how-to information

  Brand new computer, put in place, updated all the drivers and software.  I run OOKLA speed test and the new system barely reaches 2 MB (connects to 5 MB to last year: for the 6Mo), speed Upload happens a.38 (sized pour.63 and ALWAYS hits it)

  other that to tell me my speeds suck (I live in a very rural area, and that's all there is)

  So I do not waste time anyones, I searched and tried to implement everything including:

  Network card driver update

  Check the HP site for any and all other updates

  Updated all Windows software

  What I have:

  I have another laptop wireless and its speeds are 5Mo.63 every time that I test it

  This new system is still showing 2 + d/o et.36 u/l

  I ran this test several times.

  Interesting to me is that the new graph of d/l system HP K150 on OOKLA is always a Roller Coaster vs the laptop gets 5 MB and remains for the entire chart.  I didn't know if this allows to evaluate this issue.

  WMM maintains the priority of audio, video and voice, on the other applications that are less time-critical. QoS (Quality of Service) Wi - Fi Multimedia (WMM) ensures that applications that require higher throughput and performance, are inserted in the queues with a higher priority. (For example, video and audio applications receive a higher priority on applications such as FTP or file download.)

  In this way, say, listening to music, you are less likely to hear delays. Watch the video, you're more likely to see more flexible action. That delays the rest of network traffic for less critical nature - such as downloading large files - where a small delay is acceptable.

  WMM has four following queues, decreasing in the order of priority:

  • Voice.The highest priority queue with a minimum delay, making it ideal for applications such as voice over IP (VoIP) and multimedia streaming.
  • Video. The second queue of higher with a low time priority is given to this queue. Video applications are routed to this queue.
  • Best Effort. The queue of medium priority with a medium delay is given to this queue. Most IP applications use this queue.
  • Background. With high throughput low-priority queue. Applications, such as FTP, that are not time-sensitive, but that require high throughput, can use this queue.

  The only withdrawal back I see the disabling is that all will have the same priority for streaming won't be as good that she will also share the bandwidth with other such internet activities that offers day and downloads. You can always reactivate if you notice that it is at the origin of the problems will not hurt you to try out it.

  In Windows Mail, go to select Tools, accounts, your account email, properties, connection.

  You should leave this setting not selected, in this case Windows Mail will use any connection IE uses.

   

  In addition, under Tools, Options, connection, the first box must be checked.

  and the second box unchecked.

   

  If everything which withdraws, but you still have the problem, the account may be damaged.

  Remove account, restart Windows Mail, and then recreate the account.

• Internet connection down, windows 8, reset wireless network adapter

  I am running windows 8 on a computer laptop dv6 HP Envy and my internet connection keeps falling every few minutes.  This is due to the wireless network card and I have to reset the connection manually each time.  Even plugged into my modem, the connection drops.  I had my ISP reset the modem, tested and it works fine.  My connection is still down because of my network card.  Help, please.

  If you run the dism.exe / online/cleanup-image /restorehealth it may very well be able to fix the corrupted files. If necessary reruns sfc / scannow.  Hope this helps and if you need another post to help and we will be happy to help you.

• HP Envy 17 Quad t drops Wi - Fi

  Hi everyone-

  I just got a new HP Envy and I had problems maintaining a connection to my wireless router.

  I went through and tried to update using Microsoft Windows Update Tool and HP update tool, but I still have questions.

  Here is my configuration:

  • HP Evny 17 t Quad
  • Product number: C8U19AV
  • 64-bit Windows 8
  • Windows Update reports that no update is necessary
  • HP update tool reports that no update is necessary
  • Wireless: Intel Centrino Wireless N 2230
  • Driver version: 15.6.1.6
  • Driver date: 21/02/2013
  • Router connection: Actiontec Q1000; all updates applied

  Results of the Windows event log:

  Autoconfiguration WLAN Service
  WLAN Extensibility Module stopped
  Path of the module: c:\windows\system32\iwmssvc.dll

  Power options: disabled Windows of the network wireless off adapter

  Problem occurs regardless of the plugged in or on battery

  Note: 2 other laptops (Asus and Dell), Android and 2 the iTouch stay connected without a problem all day.

  My HP Envy will increase connection anywhere from 10 min to 40/45 minutes.

  I tried to read through the different posts, but I can't seem to find one that fits my setup.

  Wireless of my new office as envy worked well for about six weeks and suddenly can't stay connected. I have at least 7 other devices using the same router wireless without any problem.  The connection drops at seconds.  Sometimes I can get a Web page to load but not a second.   I changed the channel on the Router 1, 6 and 11, but that did not help.  I also deselected the option to disable the network card in the computer to save energy, but even once, it did not help.  I can't find advice on the internet that seems to help.

  To re - establish a coherent link between your computer and the network, I recommend later in this document on troubleshooting wireless network and Internet (Windows 8). This should help to run a diagnostic on your system using the network and Internet troubleshooting, as well as measures to maintain your system over the wireless network.

  In addition, I suggest also follows the steps below to ensure that your power management settings do not interfere with

  the connection to the network:

  1. open DEVICE MANAGER
  2. open the NETWORK CARDS
  3. right click on the WiFi adapter for the pc and left click on PROPERTIES
  4. click on POWER up.
  5. remove the check mark beside : ALLOW the COMPUTER TO TURN THIS DEVICE SAVE START STOP
  6. click on OK
  7. close DEVICE MANAGER and test.
