HP Envy: Instant ink "connect your printer to the internet" emails

I'm often abroad and so my printer is turned off for extended periods. I continue to receive e-mail from hp saying that my printer is not connected (I'd be very worried if it was!) and I should connect my printer to the internet - that of course isn't possible. Anyone know if it is possible to disable this feature? I have looked at various preferences in my account but cannot find a way to do it - emails are very irritating!

Hi @Adrian774,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I was browsing the documentation that I have on this printer and has been unable to find out exactly how much power these printers use. The printer HP Envy range are marked with the ENERGY STAR logo and qualified

to ENERGY STAR specifications of the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States for imaging devices.

    Let me answer this way:

Suppose you have a desktop or workstation that has a wired connection to the internet. Moreover, that this system also has a working wireless card. Another device with a pu wireless device to connect to desktop with a wireless ad-hoc connection. The desktop can be configured for connections to bridge the two and leave the system second to use "Internet connection sharing" to connect to the Internet.

  • not printing from the internet

My hp envy 5532 won't print on the internet. Other printing work directly to my computer using a USB stick as had many wireless connection problems

    Hi oskar8,

Thank you for your response. It is appreciated.

I suspect you are trying to print from the browser Chrome and your print job is not printing. I have two recommendations for you to try. The first is to disable the blocker on Chrome. I've included Manage pop ups of Google. If you still encounter problems printing of Chrome, please disable Viewer PDF of Chrome. I have included CNET How to disable PDF from Chrome Viewer.

If you use chrome and still have questions, please let me know.

  • "Connection error. Check the Internet connection. »

I just installed my printer (an HP CM2320fxi upgrade). Everything works except ePrint/Web Services. The printer is connected directly to my router. It prints network computers. AirPrint works from iOS devices. It can scan to e-mail and documents are properly received by mail outside the network accounts (i.e. it must be connected to and talk to the internet). All the router firmware and the printer has been confirmed to date. all devices have been reset and restarted several times. However, if I try to activate HP Web Services for ePrint installation, I get the following error message: "connection error. Check the Internet connection. »

After struggling with this issue for many months, including many discussions phone and email exchanges with technical support from HP, they finally sent me a replacement printer.  It works as advertised right out of the box.  I don't know what was the underlying problem, but the fact is that he couldn't be corrected with one of the solutions proposed in the discussions on this forum.  Apparently, there's HP printers out there with a lack of internet connection has nothing to do with a solution that is configurable by the user.  If you have one, then you will need to replace your printer.

I can't thank HP for that.  They tried my patience and tenacity of the months before offering the only real solution.  They must know their products better than that and should have replaced my printer several months ago.  That being said, the tech person with whom I had most of my relationships, it was a nice guy.  I expect he's working under an edict on exhausting all possible tactics before agreeing to replace the unit.

    Good luck!

  • C4480 printer does not print on the internet

I hope I'm doing this right.  I tried searching for this problem.  I'm awfully lack of navigational skills.  And many computer skills, I'm afraid.

I have Windows Vista and just downloaded IE9, but the problem started when I was with IE8.  The upgrade did not help.

My printer is an all-in-one printer, model C4480.

It works with other computers very well.

He has a lot of ink work.

My problem arises when I am physically plugged into the printer and if I use a wireless connection. I use a laptop computer, if it's important.

If I print from a word processing document something, everything prints fine but I'm tired of cut and paste what I want to print.  When I try to print directly from the internet I have a line at the top (page 1 of 1, line type) and a line across the lower part (usually a (?) path to the location of a temporary file, I think) with nothing in between.  It is a blank page otherwise.

I feel that I can have left the information that anyone who is willing to help me may need.  I hope I did well.

I'm usually good following the clear instructions, as long as they are written so that someone who doesn't speak not "computer" can understand it.

If anyone can offer advice, I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Angela

I can't thank you enough for trying to help me.  I did run this diagnostic utility you suggested and, naturally, it turned up without error.  I'll try another browser to see if it worked (although I do not want another browser), but then I had a thought.  So I decided to try my idea first, before installing a new browser.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software (I think it's the right word... the disc that came with the printer with drivers etc on it).  Guess what?  I can print on the internet even once.  I can't believe that none of us don't think of that earlier.  I still don't know why it crapped out, but it works now so I'm not too concerned about why.

Again, thank you very much for taking the time to answer my call.

  • Laserject 1606dn error, "connection error. Check the internet connection. "during activation ePrint

I try to turn on my LJ 1606dn ePrint. I downloaded and installed the firmware and that is okay. I went to the Web Services tab to get the code to register the printer. When I click on 'Activate' in the ePrint section, I get the error, "connection error. Check the internet connection. "My connection network and internet are working properly. Am I missing something? I need to open a port on my router? Is there a special song, I need reciting under the full moon while sacrificing a live chicken?

    jfusco,

If you have an IP address manually, assigned to the printer:

    1. Enter IP address of the printer in the Web browser address bar and press ENTER.
    2. Go to the network tab and the IPv4 Configuration of the page.
    3. In the DNS server settings, the entry in your domain DNS servers or put IP of the router Address in the preferred DNS server and 0.0.0.0 or 8.8.8.8 in the section auxiliary DNS server and apply the changes.
  • Firefox crashes whenever I connect my phone to the Internet

I just connect my phone to the Internet whenever I'm on my home WiFi network or Internet connection high speed, so I only use my part-time phone data connection. But whenever I plug in my phone (a X Starmobile KNIGHT, KitKat) Internet, Android always tells me, unfortunately, "Firefox has stopped." Did Firefox optimized for those who have "always - on" connectivity to the Internet? What are the possible workaround solutions for this?

    Hi Bonarae,

Firefox shouldn't be gel like this; Looks like something is wrong.

Could you try to remove Firefox and then reinstall it to? Maybe with a new start, Firefox will be better behaved.

Warning: this will wipe all your data Firefox from your phone - including bookmarks, history, etc.

    To do this:

    1. Open the game Google store
    2. Search for "Firefox".
    3. In the search results, tap on Firefox to see full information
    4. Press the button Uninstall
    5. Once the uninstall is complete, click install to reinstall Firefox.

Let us know if this solves the problem!

  • 7500 a OfficeJet won't print from the Internet

My printer portable e-all-in-one Officejet 7500 a wide can suddenly will not print on the Internet after that only three years ago. What could be the problem and how to fix it?

Thank you very much for this information.  Welcome to the forums.  Have you tried using another browser?  Like, if you use Internet Explorer from now (blue e icon), try Google Chrome or Firefox or vice versa.  So it is rare that you get a problem where you cannot print from the internet it is likely an internet option.  You can go to tools > > Internet Options > > and see what your security settings are defined on (they are maybe too high).

You can also click on the button "print...". "and see which printer is trying to print or to search for error messages.

Once again, this is general advice only.  If you would like more information, I have to know the name of the web browser you are using (IE10, Chrome, Firefox, etc.) just so I can give you more details because I'm always happy to help you.

Help

    Mikev

Welcome to the community of HP @mikiev,

I read your current and previous posts about how you can't print from the internet, and I wanted to answer you with my suggestions. I understand that you have tried to use different however search engines, try to return to my colleague's response @RnRMusicMan on the link below and try to use another web browser altogether. Again, if you use Google Chrome, try Firefox or Internet Explorer.

If Chrome and Firefox will not print, try printing from NotePad, which is a program that is preinstalled on your system to see if the draws work from there.

You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling Google Chrome or Firefox, whatever one you use often, to see if that helps the printing problem.

Let me know what is happening and we can go from there!

    Good luck

  • I can't print on the internet.

I can't print from the internet, the printer wants to fax the document, and I have not put in place for the fax printer. I have Windows 7. I have a MX922 to implement.

    Hi mmwesty,

Please open your internet browser and then click on FILE and select the option PRINT.  Please make sure that the printer PIXMA MX922 is selected in the window and not the PIXMA MX922 FAX.  Then, go to your menu START and select DEVICES AND PRINTERS.  In the window that opens, please right-click on the icon for your PIXMA MX922 and select DEFINE the PRINTER by DEFAULT.  This will outline the printer default when you try to print instead of the fax.

    I hope this helps!
