HP ENVY laptop laptop 15-j153nx: Add SSD

Hello

I can add a SSD, and more current I TB HARD drive (more hybrid 8 GB SSD), to my laptop HP ENVY 15-j153nx?

If so, what size/dimension, storage capacity, or maybe too much brand?

Specifications of my laptop are:

HP Envy 15-j153nx, computer laptop, Intel Core i7-4702MQ, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M (4 GB), 16 GB RAM, 8 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD, 15.6 ", 8.1 for Windows (64-bit)

Thank you

Update: I thought that it was portable average size but it of a laptop thin and seems your limit at just the 1 TB HARD drive or you can swap out to a 1 TB SSD but I also what HP says about the laptop.

"1 TB 5400 RPM SATA; Flash cache: 8 GB; The flash cache module is designed to accelerate the experience of response of the system and cannot be used as extra storage. It is not removable by and not accessible to the user. »

So your expansion options may be limited. Much will depend on what size is the 1 TB of HARD drive that is currently in it right now you need to find an SSD that fits this same dimension to replace the original HARD drive that is there. But what they have now is 1 TB SSD and SSD 2 TB are quite expensive and I do not know how it dimension compared to the CT 1 SSD drives.

  • Envy 17-n100nl: Envy 17-n100nl disassemble to add ssd

    Hello world

I just bought an HP ENVY 17-n100nl laptop, and I wanted to update to add a SSD memory. I know that it is possible to add it instead of the appropriate optical unit with the caddy, but I saw that another possibility would be to add to the second internal drive Bay. I'm having some trouble of disassembly of the pc: as you can see in the photo, the lower part of the PC is a continuous part (unlike many other portable HP where RAM and HARD drive are easy access) and even without caps base left and right (unlike the other Envy 17 I found instructions how to disasseble http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/productdata/Countries/_MultiCountry/disassemb... So my question is: How can I do? Are there instructions from HP (I looked in this page http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/productdata/disassemblynotebook-o.html , but none of the solutions listed for laptops ENVY 17 apply to mine).

Thank you all for the support,

I found a manual for this model HERE .  On page 31, start the instructions you are looking for.   The title is:

Laptop works fine when on battery, but when I plug it, the laptop of begins to lag, and my games have a constant 20-24 FPS. I have also noticed that when the laptop is connected to 80% or higher it don't hang out, however, when I plug it to 20% or more, the laptop everything is lagging.

    Hi there @malktee,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that your laptop rowed when connected to the charger, and that you have noticed that this never happens when the load level exceeds 80%.   I'm happy to help you with this.

From your description, this fix seems custom-made for you: HP ENVY laptop - the computer is slow or does not respond while that connected to the charger. As you can see that he mentions about the same problem but the break is 60% or less.  Try it and tell me if that solves the problem.

If it doesn't solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • HP ENVY laptop - 15 - ae101no: control of the Volume on the keyboard keys do not work!

    Hello

Volume control keys had suddenly stopped working, and I have no idea why. I have the model HP ENVY laptop - 15-ae101no (ENERGY STAR). Could you please help me fix it? Thank you!

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download Realtek HD Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp74501-75000/sp74867.exe

When finished, press and hold the Windows key and press R

In the run window, type devmgmt.msc and press to enter.

In Device Manager, expand sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the Realtek device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp72001-72500/sp72105.exe

When the reinstallation of Chipset is finished, stop the laptop.

Disconnect the power adapter and then hold button power supply for 30 seconds, then release.

    Plug the power adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

When windows has reloaded, open your download folder, right click on the installer of Realtek and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, reboot the laptop and let windows load completely for a few minutes before checking.

    Kind regards

  • HP Envy 15 t (G0T59AV): HP Envy laptop speaker poor sound quality (particularly acute) as the volume increases.

I had been without my HP Envy laptop a few weeks after he bricked on me and I had to send in for repair, and when I came back the sound quality seems to be noticeably worse than what I remember. The sound in general seems a little intestine initially, and it does not handle certain tones fine treble, producing shrill notes that almost seem like they're clipping or something, as if it's too much for the speaker to manage. The volume level refers to it - it's much worse at higher volumes, but its volumes, it should be able to manage, and has dealt in the past. 30 is basically normal, I'll hear parts of it start happening about 40 volume or so, 60 sounds evil, and 80 is almost inaudible.

My first suspect is the dustbin of Beats Audio with what they sent this thing.  He gave me problems before. I fiddled with the Beats Audio settings for a bit and couldn't find a lot of luck. The strange thing is, I searched Beats Audio driver updates, and I came to the top completely empty. All links to them were either broken, be directed to the page of HP support containing the drivers for the specific device model questioned. The driver for my laptop page shows nothing about the drivers of beats. And my device manager doesn't seem to show that no driver present Beats, either, even though I SWEAR there drivers for them in the past. The only present audio device is the Realtek HD Audio driver. The Beats Audio utility in the taskbar does not seem to think there is something wrong, however, so I don't know what's the case. Can someone help me?

(I know of no reason that the question I sent my laptop in for repair would be linked to this, nor do I have any reason to believe that the person who repaired the laptop could have done anything, as all my files on my HDD seem to have been completely intact, but just for the sake of rigour : A couple of weeks, apparently caused by me accidentally stick a 3.5 mm headphone jack into the adjacent USB and damaged brick my laptop. The computer, stop immediately, if she was able to start right back up. The next morning, it was completely insensitive and would not start until it was. I knew with certainty that it is the USB at the time, I thought that it was unlikely that a damaged USB port might cause a full brick computer, but when I got back from repair, the repair summary said that the only thing to do for she was replacing a USB port.  Other than the good question, my computer was working perfectly since.)

  • HP Envy laptop - 15-ae011na: HP Envy - keyboard and Trackpad not working after the mode 'sleep'.

    HP Envy laptop - 15-ae011na

I have this laptop for only 1 week, he did various updates. I guess that's from Windows 8 to 8.1. He also completed an update of the BIOS with HP Support Assistant.

Question: When the awakening of my laptop mode 'sleep', my trackpad and keyboard do not work, I have unlock my PC using HP Simple pass, then press the power button to restart the machine.

Troubleshooting: I followed some advice for troubleshooting on the support page which lead me to uninstall the keyboard driver then restart my machine. I have all the latest drivers aswell.

Someone has an idea what might be causing the problem? Ideally, I'd like to do a restore or upgrade of Windows 10 immediately.

    Thank you.

Looks like this has been caused some my driver problem with Windows 8.1 and I guess that's with HP SimplePass such that it would not recognize the keyboard and the trackpad after waking up to use it.

I have upgraded to Windows 10 that looks like a solved the problem.

  • HP ENVY laptop - 15-k277ca: upgrade memory RAM - HP ENVY 15 Notebook

    Hi all!

Last weekend, I upgraded the RAM in my laptop HP ENVY laptop - 15-k277ca.

The machine has 1 module of 8 GB by factory, so I bought another module of 8 GB (same brand and same rate).

But the problem is that the machine does not recognize this second module, neither in the BIOS nor so

    I am running Windows company 10 x 64.

The weird part is that I downloaded the CPU-Z, and this software recognizes the two modules.

    Any idea?

Here is the image of the CPU - Z software (where memories are recognized)

See tensions? You've mixed low-voltage and voltage regular memory. They can be the same machine and the speed, but they are not the same tension. This will cause problems as you see. The computer is designed to work the DDR3L memory (1.35 volts). When you correspond to the modules, you really need to match modules. Can you confirm part numbers printed on both modules and the specifications on the labels?

  • Add SSD to question dv7t-7300 HP Envy.

I ordered a custom of dv7t-7300 HP Envy. I want to add an SSD, something along the lines of an SSD of 7.5 mm. I just need to know a few things.

    (1) given that the computer just that with a HARD drive (depending on configuration), is the second drive Bay hard to a 'HARD drive enclosure? And if so, should be 7.5 mm 2.5-inch SSD, or it must be a 9.5 mm SSD?

    (2) if the caddy is not included, where can I get one? And should it be a basket, or is it implemented different now?

Any other information you can provide would be great! Thank you.

Nothing like that self-help. Return it. On the back of it is a large "T" plate shaped. Remove the screws, pull it out and look inside. You have two hard drive bays. Are all dv7s to dual hard drives, but the method to connect readers varies a little.

    Manual

See instructions starting on Page 49 of the above link Sevice manual.

An SSD will work in each Bay. I would use the SSD as drive for the operating system to take advantage of the speed of the thing, which is really amazing to see the first time you see it. There is also a place for a WSSD, but there is no need of a GSU if you use an SSD as your primary drive. Still if you want uberstorage you could spend a ton and purchase a 256 GB WSSD and have actually three usable discs.

  • HP envy laptop 4

    Hello...

my system is HP ENVY laptop PC (B8F41EA #ABV) 4

System was with win7. But due recovery does not, I installed from USB. Last four days, I tried to install win7 64 bit Ultimate. It is at the time of instalation complest (after copying windows files, extension of windows files, features installation and update) indicating an error. " Windows Setup could not configure windows to run the hardware on this computer."

so, how can I solve this problem... pls help me.

    Thanks in advance...

    Hello:

I can't find the model number or the plug on your laptop by entering the product ID you have posted.

If your laptop has an Intel processor and chipset, restart the installation and follow the steps below and see if it works...

Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed - 32 or 64 bit depending on the case).

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=23060&keyword=Intel+RAPI...

Extract the files on a usb flash drive.

With the flash player and the installation of W7 media connected to the computer, boot from the installation of W7 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and should install W7.

  • Wake on Lan for HP Envy laptop m4

I have a HP ENVY laptop m4 running Windows 8.1 (64-bit).  The laptop has a Ralink RT5390R 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter. I can't get to respond to any package of Wake-On-Lan.  The computer is connected wireless to 90% of the time.  At this point, I have not tried a sequence of waking with the wired connection, so I can't tell if it's successful.

My question is: is-possible WOL with the Ralink card? And, if so, how you configure it?

    Thanks in advance

The first thing you need to know is that it doesn't seem to be a WOL enable\disable option in the BIOS of your laptop want m4.  That does not make a non-viable option using WOL.

You should read the following article on the How to Geek on WOL.

    Hello

The m7 envy laptop does not therefore docking port, you will need to use USB docking port. There are many ports of USB docking around such as:

(HP store says there are 11 products but the site is inaccessible, you can wat to get a complete list

  • HP ENVY laptop - 17-r107na: Lexar CFR1 continuously, disconnect and reconnect

    Hello

I connect a CompactFlash Lexar KFR1 card reader to the USB 3.0 port on the right side of a HP ENVY laptop - 17-r107na.

This card reader is very connection / disconnection of the laptop, what happens every 5 to 10 seconds.

I tried all the USB ports on the laptop and the card reader has the same way.

I know that the card reader works fine on another PC.

I know another USB 3.0 device, a WD My Passport Ultra works great on the laptop and I can copy files to and from it.

Please help me solve this problem, I really need to do this I need to transfer files from my digital SLR.

    Concerning

    Neil.

OK, I am even more confused

    I have now:

    1 desktop computer

    1 HP Envy laptop

1 card SAndisk Extreme III CF

    Lexar Professional CF card 1

1 card reader Lexar Workflow KFR1

1 drive of transcend CF cards

If I plug the Lexar CF in the Lexar card reader and plug the card reader into the HP Envy laptop, then I encounter the problem in this thread.

If I change one of the three IE Sandisk in the Lexar memory card reader in laptop HP then it works very well!

  • HP Envy TS m7 Ntbk E0K99UA #ABL: HP Envy laptop Windows 10, clean install and reinstall applications preinstalled

    Hello

8.1 Windows, I've just updated my HP Envy laptop to Windows 10. I now have a Windows 10 product key (that I found using the Microsoft tool productkey. The update went well. All the drivers have worked. The question isn't here.

I have to do a clean reinstall of the laptop. Too much shit...

I know how Windows 10, but I don't know how I'll be able to reinstall the app pre-loaded, he came with the laptop.

Firstly, Windows 10 kind of RecoveryMgr blocked... I just can't access more...

If I boot with the drive D or the backup media, I created, I'm only given the opportunity to reinstall completely (but, of course, for Windows 8).

    Two questions:

    1. from the D drive or my backup media, is there a way to separately select application to install? (Everything seems compressed and it allows me to start the installation of each software program.

2-if I reinstall Windows 8 using backup media, I created (or d reader app), I'll have my own installation... but I'll be able to re-update to Windows 10? (remember, I now have a product key...).

    Thank you.

    Sébastien

Your best option would be to use the recovery media to reinstall the original OS. Since you have an activation key of license for the original operating system meets the requirement to update Windows 10.

Once you have done this, you can use the key to creation of Windows Media to create a bootable installation flash drive or to proceed directly to Windows 10.

Windows 10 installation as an upgrade has the advantage of you to have the applications installed at the origin of the original OS present and ready to use in your new installation of Windows 10.

Otherwise with a clean install of Windows 10, the HP Recovery Manager wil do not exist, or you can install it separately.
