HP ENVY laptop model m7-j020 d: unable to connect to the Internet

I have a HP ENVY 8.1 Windows running.  No problem until a few days ago, when I couldn't connect to the internet (no e-mail link or a browser).

Wireless and ethernet connections seem to work. I can connect to the internet via another PC, smart phones, etc.

E-mail started acting erractically. I tried to restart the computer, and then he started to install updates.  Not sure if she did because it does not connect to the internet.

Based on the suggestions of another post, I tried: flushing the DNS, reset the battery TCO/IP and resetting the catalog.

Restart the PC without installation updates has not improved the situation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Satellite L300-1 a 6 - unable to connect to the internet

I have a problem - unable to connect to the Internet.

First of all, I try to use internet DSL from phone, there was no result.

Then I try to use digital TV internet - no result.

Laptop does not detect a network, it says - undefined network.

My firewall is active, now I use a modem to laptop...

Sorry, but I don't understand how you have configured your DSL router/modem.

First of all, you need to configure the router and need to insert all the data from your ISP (Internet service provider).
Usually the model or DSL with router assigns the IP address. Therefore, only connect your LAN cable to the LAN books and you should get a connection to the DSL router/modem.

I think that in most cases the whole process is described in the manual of the router

  • Unable to connect to the Internet via a Linksys Wireless card

I used a Linksys BEFW11S4 for several years with no problems.  A PC is connected via a network cable and the other (Dell laptop) used a wireless adapter Linksys that plugged into the laptop (model of Linksys WPC11 ver (4).  All my computers using Windows XP with the latest service packs.

I plugged the Dell laptop to the router via a cable to transfer files faster than the network B.  Then, when I disconnected the cable and reconnected the wireless card, I was unable to use the Wi - Fi connection to connect to the internet.  Wired works very well, is not wireless.

Windows reports a good wireless connection to the router, but the machine is unable to connect to the internet using the wireless card.  It can connect to the internet when using a network cable, however.

Pings what either using the Wi - Fi connection failed (expired).

I used another laptop (a more recent Toshiba with a wireless card built-in) to connect to the router and it works very well with the connectivity wired or wireless.  No problem switching back with this machine.  So, the problem is not with the router or the router configuration.

I was through the forums and seen a LOT of people seems to have the same problem with these Wireless Linksys routers.

I tried to use the Easy Link software to configure the machine, but: (1) Linksys updated web site is not valid, and (2) with the www.linksysfix.com/ela site that directs users to the software is also invalid.  Linksys technical support seems to be lacking.

I went to the usual network setup menus and two laptops seem to be configured the same way, again, we're working wireless and we do not.

I would appreciate solutions others have tried and who has worked with this problem.

I reinstalled the drivers for the Linksys card and it does not work.  Windows recognizes the new hardware card, reports that it is connected to the router, but still no internet connection

    Restore factory will help?

I also have the restore CD/DVD thing, but I'm a bit confused as the product key on the bottom of the laptop is different than at the back of the CD case.
At first I thought that it would be grandpas CD/DVD as it also has a Toshiba Satellite but when I compared its product key on the CD/DVD was different.
    Is how important it?
If this is not the case, when restoring to factory settings what product key can I use the CD/DVD or on the bottom of my laptop?

Please help I need 2 fix this problem quickly, as soon as possible!

    Hello

If you want to install the operating system and to have the factory settings, again, you must not enter the activation key. It is already enabled for your laptop model and you can use it so often desired. Please don't be confused on this issue. Everything is OK with him.

    What about your Internet connection?
As you wrote: for some reason any does not connect to the internet!
If you do not know the reason how should we know it. ;)

If the network adapter is properly installed, I guess some false parameters are responsible for this.

  • Missing error driver unable to connect to the Internet

Original title: I deleted a driver

I deleted a driver for my Wi - Fi accidentally when I was manually cleaning the hard drive. When I try to connect to the internet the computer says missing a driver. any suggestions or guidance on how to reinstall?

    Hello

What is the brand and model of the computer?

    Method 1:

If you are unable to connect to the Internet via the wireless connection, you can switch to a wired connection to download the driver or to download the driver on another computer.

Driver can also installed from driver disk provided by the manufacturer of the computer.

    Method 2:

You can also perform a system restore to the date when the computer was working fine and check.

    What is system restore?

    System Restore: frequently asked questions

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/system-restore-frequently-asked-questions

Important: Restore the system affect the system files of Windows, programs and settings of register that have been changed recently. It can also make changes to scripts, files, batch and other types of executable files on your computer. System Restore does not affect personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos, so it cannot help you restore a deleted file.

    Method 3:

I suggest you visit the manufacturer's Web site and download and install the latest wireless drivers or if you use the link give and check if it helps.

    Hi mikecampbell,

If you are still unable to connect to the internet with a wireless and wired connection, make sure first that the wireless card is turned on. On most laptops, there is a button in the front of the laptop. If you are still unable to connect to the internet, follow the steps described in this document.

  • Unable to connect to the internet after the removal of important processes in the task bar

I am not very tech-savvy then let me explain.

I have a laptop Lenovo I recently bought in August 2014.  A friend suggested that I have download the free application "Open Office" in line, so I could open a school power point.  Open Office gave me a handful of viruses, which I managed to delete, then having served the system well, panic I accidentally opened the Task Manager and deleted a bunch of processes that are running.

Now, I find that, although I am connected to WiFi, I can't open Internet.  I click on Firefox, but it shows that I am unable to connect to the Internet.

I have Windows 8; an easy way I can solve this problem?

    Thank you.

Original title: I accidentally turned off the program that allows my computer to connect to the Internet

    Hi Tunasushiroll,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem.

The problem can occur for various reasons, including incorrect TCP/IP settings configured, firewalls third of anti-virus programs blocking the connection, or due to bad the advanced sharing settings. So, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if you system is able to detect the wireless network.

    Method 1:

Run the troubleshooter network first, and then test your Internet connection.

Open the Network Troubleshooter by hitting on any fly in the Dashboard screen, quilting Search(or if you use a mouse, pointing to the top right of the screen, move the mouse down and then clicking search), entering the network troubleshooterin the search box, type, or by clicking settingsand then by typing or clicking on identify and fix network problems.

If the problem persists, try the following method.

    Method 2:

Second of all, please check if the WLAN service is started and set to automatic. If it is stopped, then I suggest you to start the service and set it to automatic.

    1. Press the Windows key + R, type services.msc in the Run dialog box and press ENTER.
    2. Select the Autoconfiguration WLAN service in the list and double-click it.
    3. Change the startup to Automatic type, then click Start to start the service.
    4. Click apply and then click OK.
    5. Restart the computer and verify if the network is detected. If this is not the case, go to method 3.

    Method 3:

Reset the DNS and TCP/IP settings.

    1. Press the Windows key + X, click prompt (Admin).
    2. Please enter the following commands and press ENTER after each one.

      netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
      netsh winsock reset
      ipconfig/registerdns
      ipconfig/flushdns
      ipconfig/release

    3. Restart the computer to check the issue.

Check if the system is able to detect the network. If this is not the case, go to method 4.

    Method 4:
Temporarily disable the security software (if any), and check if it helps.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
