HP ENVY - m7-k211dx: replaced HD with SSD again, impossible to install network drivers

Hello

HD on HP ENVY m7-k211dx not dead, no recoverable data. Figured why not install an SSD so replaced by a new Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB.

Note: I have built many computers to office since the Pentium 4 days, consider myself as an amateur

Installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit without any problems (after activating the suport inherited in BIOS)

Downloaded all the drivers from the HP site and copied on DVD

Record fell with drivers on the desktop

installed the chipset driver sp73543.exe, restarted everything is fine

Installed USB driver sp70645.exe, restarted everything is fine

Then tried to install two network drivers downloaded for this laptop specific to HP for LAN and Wireless support Web site:

RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE Realtek 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Drivers -sp69888.exe

Realtek LAN (LAN) driver -sp68120.exe

First tried to LAN, Ran exe, checked the license agreements, etc. and it started to install, after a few seconds and error message pops up:

"FindFile failed.

After the closure of this pop-up a new error message:

"Realtek network controller is not found. If deep sleep Mode is activated Please cable.

Then tried wireless installation, after that starting exe command winow popped up a few seconds showing:

"Please wait for the installation.

close the window after a few seconds, nothing after that

After trying several times to install drivers with the same exact results I went by the process of reinstalling Windows and go thru the pilot again installation process with the exact same reslts. Downlaoed new drivers with same accurate results

Clues as to what may happen?

Thank you and my apologies for the wall of text

Hello:

Normally the ethernet driver will install if you do not first install the chipset driver.  Since you've done, it's a good question, why you notification of deep sleep.

Try the driver ethernet directly from Realtek and see if it works... 3rd driver on the list.

http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1 & PNid = 13 & PFid = 5 & Level = 5 & Conn = 4 & DownTypeID = 3 & getdown = false

Wireless should be easier to correct... parts list indicates that your laptop comes with an Intel 7260 AC wireless network adapter.

I see no W7 wireless or bluetooth drivers listed for this card on the HP website for your laptop, so use the latest Intel.

Wireless: 64-bit is the 2nd file on the left side of the Web page.

Yes, you can replace the current drive with a good brand, standard SSD for laptops and hardware wise, please use the #59 manual page to replace the HARD drive.

The fast and easiest way is to buy with at least 512 GB SSDS, clone the SSD HARD drive and install in Bay HARD drive as shown on the #59 page.

  • Re: Portege R500-11 with SSD: I want to install Win XP

Sorry if this is a common question, but I haven't had no luck with the research.

I have a Portege R500-11 pair with SSD and I want their downgrade to XP. (speed issues)

First question. Is it possible or are there problems?

Second: I guess I have to install the SSD driver, with nlite or F6 during installation of the victory, but which is the correct driver? Can someone give me the exact link, please?

    Is this? Intel Storage Manager.

  • (Redirected) Cannot boot from the HARD drive on dell n5010 with SSD and HARD drive installed

I have my old dell n5010 (15R Inspiron) with SSD (Samsung EVO 840 120 G) installed on the main drive Bay and the HDD (Samsung HJJ 500 G) on the optical drive Bay.

It is a typical way to add an SSD on such an old laptop (bought from dell.com.cn in 2011).

My Windows 10 operating system has been installed on the SSD using Samsung Data Migration software, so the previous C drive was pointless. So I formatted and installed an operating system Ubuntu 14.04 on it, hoping the grub OSs double beginning located on the HARD disk.

However, I find no the Dell bios boot option to boot from the HARD drive installed in my optical drive Bay. All the choices are 'Hard Drive', 'Network' and 'Diagnostic '.

But I was definitely sure that my bios program has detected the SSD and HDD with information on the main menu of the bios.

And the LED on the optical drive Bay was immediately once I pressed the Start button on my laptop.

As a general rule, all things were right except for options of the bios boot.

Is there a way I can boot from HDD (with installed Ubuntu) while remaining has my SSD on the main drive Bay? I don't want to swap their positions, because the SSD is super fast on the main drive Bay.

I have alse won't migrate 10 Windows to the HARD drive and reinstall Ubuntu on the SSD, because I'd like my windows be loaded quickly.

Someone at - it the same problem with me?

    Any suggestion is appreciated!

  • Tecra R950-104 - can I replace ODD with SSD?

    Hello

Is it possible to replace my DVD drive with an SSD with a HARD Drive Caddy?

My laptop is a Toshiba Tecra R950-104.

    Kind regards

    Luis

    Hello

I found on the internet some UltraSlim SATA HDD/SSD mounting frame that allow the use of 2nd 2.5 HDD/SSD drive instead of ODD in Notepad Tecra R950 but to be honest I m not 100% sure if the BIOS recognize such additional device.

I know that computers Toshiba laptop (Portege and Tecra) series different takes in charge these updates in the past but this replacement was not supported by each laptop model.

It depends on the BIOS and in the event that the BIOS recognize the 2nd HDD/SSD drive, the system should be able to recognize 2nd HARD drive

  • Can I replace HHD with SSD in G570 4334 laptop computer 43344JU

    I have a laptop of Lenovo G570 4334 43344JU. It has a Pentium Intel B940 2.0 GHz processor,

Conditioning LGA1155, Chipset ID 1 49. And the HARD drive is a HITACHI 320 GB SATA II 2.5 INCH HTS543232A7A384.

Windows 7 Ultimate is installed on this computer.

I want to replace the HARD drive by an Intel SSD 240 GB. Is it possible to replace only the current with HARD drive

for example, an Intel 530 240 GB internal 2.5 inch Solid State Drive without changing the other hardware components such as the drive controller?

    Hi lor1cal,

    Welcome to the Forums.

Yes, it is possible to replace the stock 2.5 "SATA HDD to a 2.5" SATA SSD.

To put you on the SSD, you can:

1 clone stock HDD to the SSD with Paragon Backup & Recovery Home 12 (free trial) or:

    2. perform a clean installation on the SSD using a Windows 7 bootable disc. If you do not have a bootable media and you only have a license key, you can get a Windows 7 ISO on this Web site. To create a bootable USB key, see this guide.

    Hope this helps

  • Replace merge with ssd drive, cannot be done?

My hard drive of my iMac 27 ", end 2012, is running out. It has a fusion of 1 TB drive.

I asked the service guy how much it would cost to replace the 1 TB with a 512 GB SSD drive.

He said that one cannot do. He claims that the only thing that can be installed is a 'disk original Apple', given that she is a fusion player, he has several sensors that a regular disk or an ssd, does not.

Is this true? I thought drive merger was only a software technology "pair" a small disc with an older hard drive ssd.

Of course, it is possible, but understand that the HARD drive in the computer has a special sensor used for the detection of the temperature and the fan control. In addition, what you ask is probably not an Apple authorized the change. A Fusion drive uses the features of Mac OS X CoreStorage to create the Fusion drive and manage. However, in itself a Fusion drive does not require any special equipment unless one you have used flash PCI-e instead of a real SSD memory.

If your computer is no longer under warranty and complete loss of any future Apple support doesn't bother you, then you can make the change yourself.

  • Replacing HDD with ssd.

    Hello

my laptop is Acer E5 - 573G, with 10 Windows in dual-boot with Kubuntu 14.04

I think to replace the hard disk ssd, because Windows startup is very slow.

I would like to know if this operation is very difficult, I've never used with laptops, but I set up my desktop pc.

There is a guide on the internet for this operation?

    Thank you.

It is not that hard, take your time and prepare yourself well, there is a video in German but easy to follow the procedure, be careful at 02:27 for the elimination of the seal of motherboard.

  • Replacement of with SSD HD improves the battery life?

MacBook Pro 13 "mid-2010.  My MBP is faking a bit slow compared with my Mac Pro 5.1 running an SSD as drive.  I have reviewed a SSD in the optical Bay Assembly or Assembly may be two SSD...

How this may affect the life of the battery, is the original battery, I rarely use the MBP otherwise that plugged into the power, the count charge cycle is ~ 240.  If left for a week running but not connected, the MBP is run flat battery.

Having two SSDS put more pressure on my battery or reduce his load? Whereas a Crutial 250 GB or two.

A MBP will always run slower than a MacPro.

SSD will affect the life of the battery for the better - less parts to be driven by the mobile battery

  • Pavilion 15 - an058: replace hd with ssd on star wars Pavilion 15?

I have a pavilion hp 15 - an058ca (the star wars one). I don't like that it has a drive in sata hard and want to put in an SSD. the thing is, I can't for the life of me understand how I would get it if I did. is this possible? everything else does? is there a technical documentation on how to get it? the manuals I can find via google are not quite the right model and seem to have a way somewhat different from getting in.

I can see where I take the screws, I can see how to get the optical drive out and how to get live them their which set the top on the cd tray. I can even see how down the hind legs. but I don't see how to get the 'high' rest off. and it is apparently the only access?  Thanks for any advice you can give.

On this one actually access you the base. See page 49 of this manual:

  • Buying a laptop Alienware with SSD, where OS is installed?

    Hello
I would buy an Alienware of 15 with a HARD drive and a SDS.

Where will be the operating system installed?
Is there a way to specify the drive where I want to install?

If I take a DDI I think it will be useless to have the operating system installed on the slow drive...

I have an AW15 with both an SSD 128 GB (too small!)  and a 1 TB HARD drive.  The operating system is loaded on the SSD, the recovery partition is located on the HARD disk.

  • switching with SSD hard drive and install windows 8.1

    Hello

I plan to buy a SSD Samsung 850 pro / evo (if you recommend to stick to a 840 please let me know)

I have an alienware r4 bought in September 2014 I got with a normal 3 TB hard I now want to change just a storage disk and install a SSD drive with windows on it.

I have reinstall windows 8.1 once before because of a problem before so im not new and understand the basic. But when even assume I don't know incase I missed a step, or something that should have been done.

I also understand that the key of windows remains on computers that have a UEFI boot mode. If this correct?

Are there any special steps I need to do to install an SSD

I've also heard when to reinstall windows on your computer, that you need something with you mother of the Council which has not made when I first did a reinstall of windows on my computer. But it's a clean install of windows. I don't know what - this 'clean installing windows"and if it is not necessary to then please let me know.

All I really want to do is to install windows on a card SSD to speed up performance without having to buy a new cd and would like to know if the pilot that were usually recommended for my computer will work as it should be, or do I install something different since im put an ssd card into my bench.

    Thank you

The 850 is a great player, and if he is not a big price difference I recommend plus the 840.  Your plan to start SSD sounds good.  As long as you are using the Dell recovery disk, you won't need another Windows key.

In some cases, you will need to opt for the SATA AHCI mode to do a clean install.  FYI, a clean install is the one who clears all data from the disk of destination.

However, Samsung provides a free clone app (available on their website) that you can use to migrate your current installation to the new drive without all the trouble of a new facility.
