HP ENVY notebook - d000-13D-CT: new computer. Wireless connectivity works however, this computer cannot connect to the internet.

I have a HP ENVY laptop new - 13D-d000 CTO (ENERGY STAR).

Product name N8R87AV

Windows Pro 10

64 bit

Network adapter: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265

When I click on the wireless icon - it shows me the connection within the home. I connect and it says it is the network configuration required, but then it crashes. I try again later and it does not find the connection at all.  Other devices in the House are connected, so I know that the real wireless works.

I called HP Tech Support, they tell me it's a matter of Internet provider, I call AT & T and they say it's a problem of HP. I call HP Technical Support and they always say it is a problem of ATT and I have to tell them to configure the settings. I call ATT and they cannot diagnose and insist that it is a problem of HP.  I'm not at a loss.

I hope to find a solution, it seems that networking with HP wireless seems to be ongoing question. Thanks in advance for your help.

It is possible, depending on when your new computer was actually produced and implemented for Windows 10, that the Intel Wireless LAN Driver should be updated - or at least reinstalled.

I have a HP ENVY 8.1 Windows running.  No problem until a few days ago, when I couldn't connect to the internet (no e-mail link or a browser).

Wireless and ethernet connections seem to work. I can connect to the internet via another PC, smart phones, etc.

E-mail started acting erractically. I tried to restart the computer, and then he started to install updates.  Not sure if she did because it does not connect to the internet.

Based on the suggestions of another post, I tried: flushing the DNS, reset the battery TCO/IP and resetting the catalog.

Restart the PC without installation updates has not improved the situation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • New C4580 to connect to the internet.

    Hello

I just bought and installed an HP C4580 on my mac. Anyone know of any way to be able to surf the net during printing? While on the web page that I want to print, I have to change my Internet networked printers.

    Any ideas would be popular.

    Thank you

    Ollie

Let's try something different from the printer on the network. Watch his video on the connection manually a printer wireless HP to a Wi - Fi network. While it shows a different printer than the C4580, the main steps are the same.

After that the printer is connected to your network, you follow upward by reinstalling the SW on your Mac.

Let me know how it works.

  • New HP ENVY 17 Quad t mobile, Intel® Core? I7-4700MQ unable to connect to the internet

Just got a HP ENVY 17 t mobile Quad, Intel® Core? I7-4700MQ.  It shows my WiFi as a maximum of five bars.  Sometimes it connect, but most of the time, it shows limited.  Either way I can't connect to the internet.  I have another laptop (Windows 7), a desk top (XP), two smartphones (Android) and a TV (who knows) who have no problem connecting, I doubt given that the router.  I tried to do some research with the other laptop but most suggested solutions require that I connect to the inernet - duh - that doesn't work :-)

To complicate the situation, it is also my first experience with Windows 8 so just to try to sail on the new laptop is a real challenge :-)  If you need basic unfortunately information you need me to scroll the steps to find :-)

BTW - running Windows Network Diagnostics I get "Wi - Fi" has a valid IP configuration.

Found a solution: turn the power off, have a beer or two and a few hours later started working with her again I have no idea what happened, but he began to connect to the WiFi last night and did it again this morning guess now I have to start learning how to use Windows 8

  • Can I transfer to the new computer hard drive with the operating system

I am building a new computer and want the best way to transfer my data.  I can transfer the data to a new SATA drive and then install the new drive in the new computer without having to do anything else.   Or I can install XP on the new computer first then do the transfer queue using the old IDE drive in a portable USB enclosure?  or?

    TKS

    John

    Sort that works is great.

If you use the USB case, make sure that it can provide enough power to the drive.  Usually this isn't a problem if the old drive was a laptop computer but can be a problem if it was a desktop drive.

Assuming that your old computer still works, the easiest is to put all the files you want to transfer to a folder, and then share this folder on the network.  Connect both computers to your home network, then simply attach to the shared folder on the network from the other computer and drag and drop your files to your new computer.

  • I just installed a new router and now my desktop running Windows XP computer does not connect to the internet.

    Hello

I just installed a new router and now my desktop running xp computer does not connect to the internet. I know that it is not the router because I plugged the cable into my laptop running 7 and it works fine. When I try to dhcp I get 169..., when I put manually the IP just get no access to the internet and can not ping to the router address. I tried to run the net work Assistant, emptied my dns, disabled all firewals, still nothing.
    Any suggestions?
    original title: connectivity Limeted

The zero configuration utility works very well. But it is a desktop computer and on cable. All other wired and wireless PC in the office is working well, then it's definitely this PC. He came out of nowhere, I install a network printer on the PC but that's all.

Your messages are a bit terse, but if I understand correctly

    • You have a router connected to the Internet and multiple computers connected to the router, some Ethernet cable and others by wireless.
    • All but one of these computers can reach successfully from the Internet via the router.
    • A computer that can't browse the Internet is connected to the router via an Ethernet cable.
    • You disconnected the cable between the router and the desktop problem and connected it to a Windows 7 laptop and the laptop connected to the Internet via the router.
    • You haven't seen any error message (except, perhaps, a message on "Limited or no connectivity").
    • You have installed Windows XP Service Pack 3 (or at least Service Pack 2)

Assuming that all the foregoing is an accurate summary of the situation, I suggest that you do the following:

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
Type the following lines and press ENTER after each line

    Netsh reset winsock catalog
    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Close the command prompt window and restart the computer.

  • New computer Windows 7 and the Wii

Well, I really have no where else to turn, so I thought I might as well try these forums.

Basically, my problem is that my new computer Windows 7 Home (I just bought 1 week ago), may not share the router with Wii my brother. This is the router card, as well as my problem:

    Linksys BEFSR41 V4, 4 port wired router-last update

    ISP is Comcast

Configured for the port before the Wii, using the - Ports 1-65535, both TCP and UDP and assigned a static IP address 192.168.1.111 (which was at the recommendation of Nintendo on the phone)

Wii has been assigned a static IP (as mentioned above) as it was my computer.

Wii has the correct entries in the router DNS server

Wii is configured to use the wired connection

We have 2 computers and a Wii connected to the router, everything has a static Ip address. If Wii Port Forwarding is disabled, both, we can go online, no problem what - if - ever, everything is wonderful and quick. If the Wii is enabled on the router, my brother PC and Wii can apply online, but my PC can't. It has never happened before with my old XP sp3 computer (HP Pavilion, record quite high for the time, 9 years old, worked as a beauty ), but for some reason my other cannot share the line with the Wii. Just mine, no less . I don't know what could be the cause of the problem. I did research all this information when we first have his Wii, so everything was peachy until this new computer.

Please, any help is very appreciated, I traveled more than 4 hours time to mobile phone, only to get the evasive of Comcast and Dell.

Your TM602G is a cable modem which should work fine when your BEFSR41 resetting to the factory default values.  Note that your modem has a battery in it.  The battery must be removed, for a minute, each time that install you the modem with a new router, or connect a computer directly to it.  I suspect that is the reason why you couldn't get an Internet connection with the last configuration that we tried.  Also, do not connect anything to the TM602G USB port.

For the time being, until all computers are running, please unplug the Wii.

For now, please set both your computers in order to "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "obtain a DNS server address automatically".  Restart the computer and make sure it is always set up this way.

I think it will be better to start with a "clean slate" to set up your network, the next step will be to reset your factory default BEFSR41.

To reset your router by default, follow these steps:

    (1) turn off all computers, the router and the modem and disconnect from the wall.
    (2) disconnect all the wires of the router.
    (3) turn on the router and let it start up completely (1-2 minutes).
    (4) press in and hold the reset for 30 seconds button, then release it, then let the router reset and restart (2-3 minutes).
    (5) turn the router.
    (6) to connect to a computer (if possible, use a computer Win XP or Vista) cable to port 1 of the router (NOT to the internet port).
    (7) turn on the router and let it start up completely (1-2 minutes).
    (8) the power of the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it's off).
    (9) try ping on the router. To do this, click the 'Start' button > all programs > Accessories > command prompt. A black DOS window will appear. Enter the following text: "ping 192.168.1.1" (without the quotes) and press the Enter key. You will see 3 or 4 lines that begin with ' response to... ". "or"Request timed out". If you see "reply from...". ", your computer has found your router.
    (10) open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to the login page of your router. Let the empty user name (Note: some Linksys routers have a username "admin") and in the password field, enter "admin" (without the quotes). This will take you to your router configuration page. Note the version number of your firmware (usually found near upper right corner of the screen). Exit your browser.

If you get this far without problems, put your entire network.  Then, using an ethernet cable, connect the ethernet on the TM602G port to port Internet (WAN) of the BEFSR41.  Leave your computer connected to the LAN of the BEFSR41 port.   Remove the battery from your TM602G and wait a minute.  Replace the battery in the TM602G.  Turn on your TM602G and let it start up completely (1-3 minutes).  Turn on your BEFSR41 and let it start up completely (1-2 minutes).  Turn on your computer.  Now, try to connect to the Internet.  If you have trouble, temporarily disable your firewall software computer and try again.  If you get a computer to get an Internet connection is working properly, then (using an ethernet cable) connect your second computer to the BEFSR41 and try to get an Internet connection active.    STOP HERE and the report with your results, including the results of step 9 and 10, and whether or not, both of your computers working Internet connections become.

If you can not ' response to... ". "in step 9 above, your router is probably dead. A report with this problem

If you get a response in step 9, but cannot complete step 10, is that your router is dead or the firmware is damaged. Related to this issue.
