• HP envy m6 broken hinge problem

  Bought a hp envy m6 in December 2012 for 630 books and 18 months later hinge snaps completely off causing the surrounding cases break. HP will do nothing about it because it is outside the one year warranty. I am disgusted as many other hp HP customers are not repair these free laptops for many customers with the same problem. Because hp would not put this issue on the recall list customers are left with broken laptops. I am disgusted with the service the customer of hp on this issue and I would advice anyone looking to buy a hp want to not waste their money on one. I've always had less expensive brands of laptops that have certainly taken longer than this expensive hp one. Shame on hp for this poor customer service

  Hope this happens to Jeff.  My computer is no longer under warranty, but I too have a broken hinge.  I can't afford to buy a new laptop after only 2 years, the hinge has started giving me bad very quickly, but I had no idea that just continue to get worse!  If someone could tell me how to contact Jeff it would be wonderful.  It seems to be the only one ready to help.  Thank you very much!

It is a problem that other users have had on other models of ENVY, but when I tried to reach out to a HP representative by phone, informed me that I would be charged $229.99 for a repair. It's discouraging and mind-boggling that a mechanical problem, most likely the one who comes to me sent a defective product because it was not the result of the computer never dumped, would cost me about 20% of the price of the computer to fix.

  I've had this laptop since February 2013. He executed perfectly. With the exception of the cover. The plastic hinges around case broke twice. The first time an engineer maintence to TV station, for which I worked it sets for me. Last week, the right hinge is broken again. It closes but this side is raised and needs to be pushed back down gently. Is there and inexpensive fix for that? The computer is great autour case not so much. I see the pieces coming out slowly. • Frustrated by the hinges of 6-1001TX, HP Envy - not broken even to halfway in 1 year warranty

  Very frustrated with envy Ultrabook - have had for only ~ 5 months.  I opened it (gently as I always do) a few days ago and a right hinge broke and jumped out of the frame of the monitor plastic.  Open with a lot of attention today and the hinge broke again.  I paid $1000 for a glorified paperweight.  What's the point to get it fixed if this can happen again with this model?

  On top of that, I have already invested a lot of time in the customization of the OS and the software on this laptop.  I am a scientist and have to use and write a specialized software.  I also need to dual boot ubuntu/windows, allowing to set up on a RESUME is a pain in the ass because they use a BIOS locked, which combined with the installation of fakeraid hybrid SSD does not allow to install ubuntu by the standard method.  The time I've lost already make these customizations and again to a second time will cost me precious time in research.

  I searched this forum and Google and YouTube, but have not found a way to repair the left hinge on my laptop of 17-j153cl H * ENVY TouchSmart. The left hinge has separated from the main frame causing the bottom of the laptop to get out of the upper part. Fixing of the screen is still fine. The right hinge has not failed yet, but with the extra pressure in this regard, it may be only a matter of time.

  I am just out of warranty, unfortunately. Are there resources to attempt this repair? I wouldn't break my worst computer he is already going blind.

• M6 envy: Envy M6 left hinge cracked

  Tonight, I noticed that the left hinge of my screen was cracked and it is bulging makes it very difficult for me to close the screen. Do a little research I noticed that this seems to be a problem with the envy of m6, and of course my computer is no longer under warranty. • HP ENVY M6-1105DX hinges + DvD Drive to good work done?

  Hello. I have some problems with my HP Envy m6-1105dx I received some time around Christmas 2012 from BestBuy. It has been a year of very pleasant to use, especially for games and social networks and other, and I was take care of it, ever since. I've never taken to anywhere outside of my home. I just leave it on a cool table where I can use it as a way to office everyday. However, all about the summer of last year, I noticed from my right hinge becomes very sensitive when closing it. So I thought that maybe I should close more slow the next time. After that around December 2013, the right hinge sprung loose on the right side, make some gaps between the right side of the hinge, on the side of the laptop screen and my monitor display 3 slim blue and purple lines, that irritate me.

  After that, I sent my laptop to be inspected at first sight to a trustworty computer repair store I've visited when my old Office XP does not work. They were my only hope to the fixing of envy, because how my warranty expired around December of the same year, and someone in my house unfortunately threw the case and the reception I got from BestBuy. They mentioned how some companies use cheap adhesives and plastic to make new laptops. Above all, they took note of my DVD drive, which had a yellow bracelet that was not supposed to be as damaged as it seems. (I never really used the DVD player, since I already have music and videos on my phone). They charged me $30 for another review of the laptop inside, and if they found something seriously wrong with the laptop, they would charge me around $20 - $200 extra. At this time, I refused, looking for another way to fix. I tried to visit other repair shops and got the same answers, needing further inspections, etc.

  I really need advice on what to do. I am only a teenager in high school, barely received any money to afford to repair. I have seen videos of YouTube on the repair of several screens of laptops Envy M-series, searched through the internet for several replacements, hinges, etc., screen or other repair shops. The thing is I'm not really confident in my ability to repair a laptop, and it feels like theres really nothing I can do.

  My left hinge is at the point where its about to pop, and I'm starting to see good glue cheap ripping off the hinge, as if it was made in fact at a great price. I really need advice to find a way set these hinges and get my laptop back into shape.

• HP ENVY TouchSmart-j100 17t: HP Envy 17 t hinge

  When I open/close the laptop, I feel the rear move left.  It seems that the hinge is moving and part of the capital and then separates the lowercase.   I can push the pieces in place, but the next time that I open/close the case the same thing happens.

  I got the laptop in April 2014.  Should what steps I take to get this repaired under warranty.

  I bought my computer hp laptop envy in January 2013. I had no problem with him until the end of 2013, when the right hinge began to get stiff. He finally cracked the monitor in February 2014. I have be it because I had left no guarantee.

  Lan on my HP coverage is broken. The part of midle bit in the lid which is supposed to take the ethernet cable is gone. EBay is full of lids of replacements, but not this particular one. Is it possible to get it / any place I can order from? I can replace it myself but I can't find the piece in the store of spare parts of HP. Thank you.
