  I solved this by downloading the update to the bios on a USB key and plug that while doing a startup in the bios. My laptop is now working well

• HP Phoenix H9 - 1150T: NO video on an updated video card

  Installation of a 370 R7 graphics card. I can adapt to and connect the power cable (500 watts). The computer starts with NO VIDEO at all. He seeks drivers and restart still no video. I watched this and it could be a bios problem. Checked relevant forum and site of video card without a son.   My motherboard has an older bios with no. UEFI. Is it possible to update the bios to UEFI support. Not searched high and low on HP sites, no chance. Megatends US to wonder about the mobo maker will mobo so see if they have an update. BTW this is for both systems are identical, they both have the same problem. Trying to avoid a call to technical support on my dime. If all else fails I will update a good not expensive mobo and re-use of ram and cpu.

  . UPDATE * with several systems on hand. I realized the 370 R7 is NOT compatible with the system board. I put the R7 370 4 GB in an older HP (HPE580) and it worked. Then put the card of the HPE 580 in PHOENIX (h9 - 1150t) and it worked. It was an R9 270 2 GB. SO a R9 270 WORK of WILL and a R7 370 4 GB 2 GB won't WORK. Need a bios upgrade same MSI tech support said it was common on this model (h9 - 1150t) Phoenix. Thanks for the help!

  I thought it was hard, but it works fine when I use live linux OS

  Here is the help. It is a bad hard drive and must be replaced. You seem to know what you're doing, so I will not bore you with details, but more help is available for the asking.

  I recently bought and HP Envy 17 laptop and have tried any backup of my 5s iphone photos and videos on thelaptop however whenever I try to play videos through the pictures folder or photo library enforcement nothing works. In the photo app to the app just freezes and crashes, and the pictures in the document reader media folder just happens does not. This happens with most of my videos

  I saw that other people have had the same issure and I installed the VLC video application as suggested and still nothing.

  There was an IOS update since I started to take videos but it makes no difference that a few videos that work are both before and after the update so it may not be a problem with my phone, and videos I've taken in the last days do not work

  Hi I was wondering if my laptop will automatically increase dedicated video memory when necessary. For example, I play a game and the only thing is that I need to dedicated video memory more and I have 32 MB and the needs of 256 MB dedicated video memory game will automatically increase or simply I can't play it. I already looked in the bios and can't find anything about the increase in ram. My shared memory is 1632 MB and display memory is 1634 and dedicated memory is 32, I found this in directx 11 under display devices.

  Your laptop supports up to 16 GB of memory installed. Source reference: Guide maintenance & Service for the TouchSmart HP envy Sleekbook 4. If you want to be able to use more memory, then you must upgrade to @8 GB of installed memory. Don't expect miracles. Your TouchSmart Sleekboook Eny isn't a cell phone game.

  The only other driver I can find for your AMD graphics card HD on a HP ENVY 17 is the AMD driver high definition graphics. If this driver does not work on the games you are trying to play and the AMD driver blocks your computer then I would hazzard that your computer just cannot handle the games.

• 800 - 030qe envy: conflict with the new video card

  I bought and installed an EVGA GEForce GTX960 graphics card and discovered a conflict with the SATA cable on the motherboard connector. EVGA has recommended that I find a SATA cable with a connector at right angles. Can anyone suggest a source for a suitable cable? Mine is red (?).

  I've updated to HP Support Assistant 8, v8.1.52.1.  How to stop the HP Support Assistant auto-start.  I tried to disable various scheduled tasks, but whenever I restart it reappears.  Now, it's more annoying than Donald Trump.  How can I stop it?

  Could you explain what you mean even by the Support Wizard running at startup?

  Do you mean the icon is present or the windows help Wizard opens on the desktop when you turn on the PC?

  IF you want to disable the tray icon, go to settings > choose how you want to be alerted and uncheck the first box to display an icon in your taskbar.

  Try the following.

  First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your desktop.

  http://download.Macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/Current/uninstall_flash_player.exe

  Once the download is complete, close all browser windows and start the program uninstaller.  Once done, restart the laptop.

  Then, download and install Firefox , then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.

  Close all browser windows before you run the installer of Flash.

  Start Firefox and see if the video game okay - if they don't, close Firefox, IE opens ( See Note below ) and click the Adobe Flash even above to get a command prompt to install the ActiveX component.  Once completed, restart IE.

  Note:  If you have a 64-bit installation, make sure that you open Internet Explorer and not Internet Explorer64) and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a command prompt to install the ActiveX component.  Once completed, restart IE.

  I intend to buy an SSD mSATA disc to my desire, because I want to improve the response time at the opening of some programs, improve the General performance of the operating system and to access files faster to big (read and write).

  I searched several readers mSATA SSD in the Web and I chose a P830 Series128GB mSATA SSD Samsung miniPCI-E disk (SATA III 6 GB/s, read 500 MB/s, writing of 400 MB/s).

  But I'm asking about what might be the best option to use the SSD mSATA so suitable as a primary drive (operating system installation and leaving 1 TB of HARD drive for storage and applications) or use it as a cache to improve overall performance.

  I do not envy for IE play or video editing, but I work with VMWare Workstation, and most of the time I need to use about 2 or 3 VM at the same time (sometimes during the recovery of a virtual Suspension of machine it take a long time, the virtual disks sizes about 40 GB). Another use for my desire is to play movies/series HD / 3D 0 and mirrored them for my Smart TV (via Miracast)

  I read something on Intel Smart Response Technology (SRT) and I heard some benefits for use with SSDS as cache memory but I am still confused the best option.

  I understand that you have questions about the installation of your mSATA SSD.

  The mSATA slot is designed to only be used as a disk cache. You may experience problems starting in the mSATA SSD as drive. For this reason, I recommend to use it in its configuration provided; as a cache drive.

  The decision is entirely at you in the end. If you are able to configure the BIOS to use the mSATA as the main drive, this will help improve your system performance in addition to using it as a cache drive, especially if there is enough space to install your VMWare on the mSATA SSD after you have installed the operating system. Use it as a main drive will also increase the life expectancy of the SSD.

  I can only offer you my personal and no suggestions 'official response HP' in this regard. As previously mentioned, it is entirely up to you.

  Hopfully, this helps at least a little.

• How to configure nvidia graphics card

  I have a laptop of envy and set at level video card Nvidia GeForce gt 740 m. I was trying to understand how the video card is put in place, but when I click on the Nvidia Control Panel, the only parameters that are displayed are for 3d. There is nothing that allows you to change the display settings.
  If I right-click on the desktop, the graphics settings are only for the equipped with a video card which I assume that I should not use as the Nvidia card is supposed to be a better video card, right?

  That's right, Auto-selection is enabled by default, but uses the document and you can configure to use the NVIDIA card instead.  If this solves your problem in my post with the link to the document can you click on accept as a Solution.

• HP Envy Phoenix 810-160: give up WiFi

  I have a HP Envy Phoenix 810-160 that I bought in April of 2014, it came with loaded Windows 8.1.  It has a Broadcom BCM4352HMP 801.11 ac 2 x 2 Wi - Fi adapter.  It maintains abandon the connection. I have install the driver is 6.30.223.170 from 09/06/2013, I tried updating the driver and it says my driver is up to date. When I go to the available networks list my network is listed under the power of the full signal.  It does not connect and says that it can't connect.   I turn on/off the device in Device Manager and reboot, then I get anywhere from two minutes to an hour or two of functionality so that it falls new.

  I'm going through HP and widows forums forums all day looking for a solution.  I followed all the troubleshooting steps I found on the HP and Windows forums, but none were specific to this model PC and a wireless adapter.   The only step I have not tried it replace the adapter.  computer 8 months, I want to buy a new card from the computer.  As it is connected to the internet from the computer, I received, it's only this morning December 26, 2014 that the connection has begun to wane.

  I tried to update the driver, uninstall and reinstall the adapter off the blue tooth adapter, currently if I toggle the device once in a relationship and reboot, I get a time where I stay logged in, but eventually, he abandons the connection again.

  When I turn on the computer the little indicator white wireless on the front of the computer lights up almost instantly.  I see my home network with the power of the full signal and two laptops and my Iphone right next to the computer to connect to the same network with full signal strength.
