HP ENVY Phoenix 810 - 270st CTO: the mouse is a failure

My wireless mouse is in process. The red light goes off. With older mice, I needed to change the battery, but it doesn't look like it there. The keyboard seems not the batteries. If there is a battery how can I change? If this is not the case, what is the solution. Thank you.

OS: Windows 8

Hi @mvaghdn ,

Do you know what model is the mouse? I don't know there are batteries that need to be replaced. On some models of wireless mouse, you must raise the upper part of the mouse to access batteries. Here is a diagram of an example:

My previous Pavalion motherboard failed and I ordered the current desktop.  I have the hard drive of the defective system.  He had the same operating system, windows 7, 64 bit, like this again.  I know some information about adding HDD to envy again.  No info on the motherboard or connections.  P5 and P6 power connectors are avilable for additional hard disks.  I see there are some open sata connectors on the motherboard, but need more info and direction on which one to use, or if things do, etc..  before I add the hard drive.

Use any header open SATA on the motherboard that you want to use. As long as you don't make changes to the current boot order in the BIOS and save the changes, it will not count.

    Hello

Look in to the new hard drive disk management.  To use the full capacity of the drive, you'll need to be initialized and he the GPT format.  Don't forget to assign a drive letter and a volume name.  In addition, make sure that the drive appears as online and not in offline mode.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix 810-445qe: specifications of need on 14.79 GB "Disk 1" labelled "Datadrive1 (e).

I spent the last few days setting up a brand new HP ENVY Phoenix 810 - 445qe I ordered from HP.com. (Information system down in the case, it may be necessary.)

I did what all the new owners of the system should do after you set up the system: I did a DVD repair system, and am about to do my first image with Windows 7 (64 bit) backup.

Of course, when you perform an image backup (which is like making a photocopy of your hard drive to a point in time) you can not store this backup on the same drive you're imaging, for the obvious reason that you can not write to disk at the same time you are Imaging it. If the image backup dialog box gave me three options of storage location:

    (1) Datadrive1 (E)
    (2) WD MyBook external hard drive (G)
    (3) Blu - Ray / DVD / CD drive (F)

I was curious about the "Datadrive1" because I didn't know that's where! I don't me read something about it, then I went to control panel > system and security > ' Create and format hard disk partitions "(under administrative tools on the system menu and security - or the type of management of the computer in the Start Menu) to take a look at the drives and partitions.

This computer was said to come with a SATA 3 TB and because disk 0 is close to 3 TB, with a labeled 100 MB partition "EFI System Partition" a 2779,01 GB NTFS partition labeled "OS (C)" and an "HP RECOVERY (D)." 15,28 labeled GB NTFS partition So, there we have the bootloader partition, the partition of operating system Windows 7 and the HP recovery partition.

But there is also a 'disc 1' labeled 'DATADRIVE1 (E)"formatted as one 14.79 GB NTFS partition. I was surprised to see this data disc, because one of my complaints about HP computers in the past (or at least those available through Best Buy) was that they were always set up with one disc for the operating system and data. (It is always a bad idea to host your data on the same drive that your operating system, because the system disks get use more heavy and are more prone to failure.)

I recognized my Western Digital My Book 1 TB drive disc 2, entitled ' My Book (G) ' and formatted as a single partition NTFS of GB 931,48. It is the external drive only, I am informed, plugged into one of the USB 3.0 ports.

So I called the support for questions on disk 1. Where is he? Is what kind of drive? Is what brand? Etc, etc. HP support officer did not know the answer to that! She told me that my system only comes with an internal hard drive and therefore that * must * be an external drive belonging to me. I have an external USB drive connected but it's G drive.

The only USB devices connected physically are: dongle USB wireless keyboard and mouse from HP; My WD My Book drive; and a HP Photosmart C5180 all-in-One printer with nothing plugged into its card reader, who can't stand not anything on the order of 14.79 GB anyway.

I would like to know the details about this DATADRIVE1, because) I don't really know what it is and if I should write data there and b) do not know how stable the device is. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix 810-230qe fails intermittently load Win 8.1 at startup

I've had my HP ENVY Phoenix 810-230qe with Windows Pro 8.1 for a little over a month now.  I love the computer, but I had a problem.  Sometimes at startup, the HP logo will appear on the screen of the monitor and that's where things stop.  Windows 8.1 does not attempt to load.

The first time this happened, I turned off the computer after a few minutes, then started again, but it's the same thing.  After having thought about it for a few minutes, I turn it off again, then turned on the power and you press ESC several times to get the boot menu appears.  Then I pressed F9 to get to boot device Options. The list of the options I have are:

    • UEFI boot sources

    Windows Boot Manager

UEFI: IPv4 Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

UEFI: IPv6 Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

    • Sources of boot legacy

In this list, I chose Windows Boot Manager and press ENTER.  The HP logo reappeared and then Windows 8.1 began, to my relief.

Since then, it happened again a number of other times, but in no set model.  Sometimes it loads Windows without problem, while other times it does not.  I'm now ESC, F9, the Windows boot manager selection quickly when this happens and it loads Windows and all is well.

Anyone have any ideas on what is the cause or what to do to fix the problem?

    Hello

Which should not happen with your new PC.

Shut down the system and check mother HHD or SSD/card power and data connections.

You can also start to the start menu and run UEFI HDD and component diagnostics.

Try to reset the BIOS by default. Try a different cable SATA 3.0.

If you find some mistakes of disc/component and wiring is secure, save all the necessary data and do a factory restore or use Windows Recovery and do a Reset.

If the problem persists after a restored factory (Reset), then you have a type of hardware problem. Could be the SATA controller on South Bridge or some other motherboard fault. A restore successful factory (the problem disappears) should eliminate all corruption software reserved System / Boot partition.

You should probably contact HP support for warranty assistance if the problem persists after a factory restore.

OK I need help with my HP Envy Phoenix 810-130qe desktop computer. My pc came with Windows Pro 8.1 and it had an audio panel where you can set the audio beats. When Windows 10 came out I've upgraded to Pro 10 Windows and my control panel audio beats was still on my pc and worked very well. Then, when Windows 10 anniversary came out August 2 my pc automatically updated for the anniversary edition. If the W8.1 driver does not work, this W10 IDT audio driver should restore function Audio Beats.

  • HP Envy Phoenix 810-160: give up WiFi

I have a HP Envy Phoenix 810-160 that I bought in April of 2014, it came with loaded Windows 8.1.  It has a Broadcom BCM4352HMP 801.11 ac 2 x 2 Wi - Fi adapter.  It maintains abandon the connection. I have install the driver is 6.30.223.170 from 09/06/2013, I tried updating the driver and it says my driver is up to date. When I go to the available networks list my network is listed under the power of the full signal.  It does not connect and says that it can't connect.   I turn on/off the device in Device Manager and reboot, then I get anywhere from two minutes to an hour or two of functionality so that it falls new.

I'm going through HP and widows forums forums all day looking for a solution.  I followed all the troubleshooting steps I found on the HP and Windows forums, but none were specific to this model PC and a wireless adapter.   The only step I have not tried it replace the adapter.  computer 8 months, I want to buy a new card from the computer.  As it is connected to the internet from the computer, I received, it's only this morning December 26, 2014 that the connection has begun to wane.

I tried to update the driver, uninstall and reinstall the adapter off the blue tooth adapter, currently if I toggle the device once in a relationship and reboot, I get a time where I stay logged in, but eventually, he abandons the connection again.

When I turn on the computer the little indicator white wireless on the front of the computer lights up almost instantly.  I see my home network with the power of the full signal and two laptops and my Iphone right next to the computer to connect to the same network with full signal strength.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix 810: Tiles and charms stop working

Tiles and charms stop working. When the tiles stops working (by clicking tile on causes Office Office window to scroll) and I could still access the charm of the research, I ran sfc/scannow as administrator. He showed a couple of corrupt files, he couldn't fix, but on reboot, the tiles and the charms worked again. Have experienced this on four times at this point.

Seems to have started with the last Windows 8.1 update and is somehow related to the engine OneDrive of synchronization.  I hadn't used onedrive; started using it, and this mess. I disabled all settings onedrive pc and laptop and stopped using it. However, the message "Synchronization engine OneDrive" appears for no apparent reason, and then the tiles and charms stop working.  If I have Outlook and Foxfire open apps, they still work, and their open windows always appear in the toolbar at the bottom. All other app shortcut links that have normally pinned it disappear.

When I try to shut down the PC, if I can do this via the charm of power, I get a message that it cannot be closed because the "Portrait Display Inc. app prevents close.» There is no such program indicated in the list of installed programs in Control Panel. I understand computer Googling there somehow integrated in the HP PC.

It is a HP Envy Phoenix 810, with a monitor (not touch) HP, both purchased December 2013. 8.1 Windows running automatic updates; using McAffee All - Access AV, up-to-date. Standard desktop applications. No software of Dingo.

I see that many other people have had this problem, used the approach of the sfc/scannow, with little lasting effect.

    Plnjmw, welcome to the forum.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix 810-230qe: PC upgrade as a whole

    Hi all!

I am writing to talk about upgrading my PC, a HP ENVY Phoenix 810 - 230qe, as a whole. Initially, I bought a PC with a FX-8320 and a little sad back in 2013 graphics card and bought a carepack with her. Once the graphics card has failed and has been replaced three times in a single year, I called HP support and a nice case manager (thank you Lorraine!) hooked me up with this one - a k 4770, 12 GB of RAM and a beautiful 270 r9. However, I'm not comfortable with the temperatures of the PC under load because there is only a single fan for all of your PC and it is blocked by water from Asetek 92 mm cooling for the CPU package.  So, I was looking to upgrade the PC as a whole around my birthday later this year. I had planned on keeping the CPU, GPU, RAM and 2 TB HDD, but I was left confused - the PC came with a 16GB mSATA 'Cache', and I know not whether or not the 2 TB of HARD drive or the mSATA drive has my Windows OS on it - if it has Windows, I'm having a few problems. A photo of two devices are here. Furthermore, I don't know how the CPU is. I was wondering if anyone knew or not that the CPU has been mounted normally or if it has been welded on - motherboard was made by MSI and the model name is "MS-7826.

If someone wants to see my upgrade of the list or make suggestions, it can be found here. I hope I can get some tips on the PC as well as help with my questions!

What you are wanting to do can work.  However, whenever you have high end components in a matter of smaller size, you will have problems with the HEAT.  You're right to worry.  Heat will cause all components to fail prematurely.  If you try to move the motherboard for another case, you must ensure that the holes in the match of the motherboard the accessory in the case.  In addition, some of the connectors cannot be the same as in a case of HP.  HP has their motherboards designed specifically for them.
