HP ENVY RE TS 23-k300xt AIO: cannot install Windows 8.1 updates

I have AIO 23-k300xt HP ENVY RE TS with Windows 8.1.  Windows updates do not install.  It tries to install but has then save changes, I tried all the remedies proposed without success. He installed 2% of updates in August and no oil in September.

I am entitled to a free copy of windows 10. I tried to install. It is said current download, but nothing ever happens.

Like a fool I keep doing the same thing over and over expecying a different result.

Thnks.

Peter

Finally! It took a few days but finally ithappened. 8.1 Windows updates to my surprise were not to be regularized.

Then Windows 10 itself installed and works very well.  Incidentally Windows 10 is a pleasant experience - but a lot to learn

  • Cannot install Windows 8.1 update on my HP Envy TS M6 Sleekbook

I have all of the current drivers and software.  It came with Windows 8, and I try to install 8.1.  He does it well until you restart.  I do the reboot and it gets halfway through and the screen will Dim and hours later, the screen is still dark.  "I press the power button and it says something like: trying to find install ' and from there nothing happens.  Finally, I end up having to go back to windows 8.   Your help is appreciated.  From what I've read, 8.1 is maybe a problem

I haven't posted in this forum, because I've had my laptop ENVY workshop of repair of HP in January. HP has not load 8.1 then even if I asked what she and the Cat Lady said they would. I decided to stay with 8.0 until HP told me that it was OK to download 8.1. They never have. A couple of weeks, I was downloading updates of the application and one of them has required 8.1 so they have downloaded 8.1 without my concent. At the time I realized what was going on it was halfway through with the installation. It was completed without a hitch, so they must have fixed the problem. I have not downloaded and installed updates 8.1 still pending. I also noticed that the PC is faster when you access web sites with Windows Explorer, so it's worth. Except that I don't notice much of a difference.

  • Cannot install Windows in bulk updates

After a major update (back to top), my computer will only install updates MS 131and I know there are more than 100 more, they have obviously downloaded but have NOT installed. For updates they show has failed, and in the updates installed, they are nowhere to be found. Does this mean "that they have been downloaded, but NOT installed?"  Because I continue to check the updates because I know they are NOT installed and it telling me there is no. To download more than 100 updates one is ridiculous, if it can still be done. After the update it downloaded 1.5 GB of MS updates and the other half has failed. I don't have a choice on my date of restoration, a mouse driver crashed, so the update was important. And the next day he downloaded more than 100. "Should I download these one? If Yes, I switch to Apple.

    Original title: amount of updates

    Hello

I've seen a number of messages about this problem, so I spent the evening reload an image of two year, perform a new installation of Win 8 who had never had Windows updates...

For the most part just out of curiosity I guess... and the fact that you mentioned 200 + updates that seemed much too much for me.

There were 109 updates for my machine. After installation of these groups, I checked once again more updates to Windows, and there is more than 18... A couple less than your total actually. And after checking again once there is no more...

Your total of 131 is probably correct... I think that you have a gap in your numbers it's because a lot of the first failed and redownloaded again.

If I go on my updates installed page, it lists 137, even if I downloaded only 127...

This is because some updates are 'Cumulative' who have more than an update of the package.

I don't know if I mentioned this in another thread or not, but don't try to do all the updates at the same time... It SHOULD work, but according to the actual updates, they can actually interfere with each other.

Especially if the .net Framework updates are included. .NET 3.5 in particular. This issue has been much come on the forum, and I'm little tired of repeatedly typing, so I wrote a few notes...

This is just my opinion, for what it's worth, it's here...

I just did a test installation 109 updates Windows in groups. All groups have continued the installation process even if they were supposed to be finished, and showed the RESTART...

You must run the Task Manager to see this.

I did thirteen .net Framework 3.5.1 updates totaled 206 MB. At least 20 minutes after the RESTART appeared several process continued to run.

Because I have an application that displays all internet activity, I have seen that Windows Installer would go several times, and when it ran, it would trigger a download of a certain type.

Two other processes that are running are Windows Module Installer and Windows Module Installer Worker.

In Win 7, they are called "mscorsvrs" and after you have installed a .net Framework update there are sometimes up to three who take turns running. The best I can describe their function, they're afflicted a compiler.

Even if the installation is supposed to be completed according to Windows Update, it is not. Not until the end of the process...

This is the source of many problems with the updates of Windows not... Over the years, I saw countless times in which an update failed after that these processes started to run... To the beautiful environment of the rest updates.

It's the sequence, I used to install updates 109 @ 1.22 GB on a computer where Windows Update had never been performed...

Group #1... @ 128 MB's malicious software removal tool and Windows Defender... Then restart

Group #2... Graphics, internet explore ActiveX

(Updates of seven first in the list before the .net start) 7 @ 188 MB...  Then restart

Group #3... .NET framework 3.5.1...  13 @ 105 MB...  It took about 20 minutes for the CPU go to zero before rebooting, as mentioned above...

Group #4...  .NET framework 4.5...   11 @ 162 MB...   It took about 45 seconds for the CPU to zero before the reboot even if reboot was not required.

Group #5...  Updates to security...   45 @ 105 MB...     Once again, reboot only after zero CPU

Group #6...  Important updates...  30 @ 419 MB...     Once again, reboot only after zero CPU

After installing the first 109, I checked for new updates, and 18 were found @ 579 mb. None were .net Framework... All were successful.

I actually did this process twice to check it again and with no failure... He managed both times.

BTW... I have 1.01 GB of updates of Windows to be 'cleaned '... This does mean that they have failed. What is cleaned is the old files that have been replaced and the left on the packages that are no longer needed.

Kinda like your TEMP folder where a large number of programs store the installation files... After a week, disk cleanup will allow you to remove...

    Hello

Here is another solution, you can try to see if you can get Windows 7 to install correctly.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

    Kind regards

    Hello

I see that you have a problem in the installation of new Windows USB port. It seems that your HDD was not detected, right? It's because your laptop uses a SATA HDD.

what you need to do are:

    1. download the driver AHCI SATA website of intel. (just google it)

    2. copy the files (size 700 KB for 6 files) into the new USB

    3. reboot and install your laptop with win 7 (dvd/usb)

    4. by the time win 7 installation reached the drive to install (none detected), click load drivers.

    5. now load your other USB SATA drivers.

    6. then will show all disks in your system.

    7. continue with the installation process.

    hope this helps.

Description of the problem: same problem on the computer desktop and laptop at the same time began: cannot install Windows updates (has no status)

No hardware changes or software recently made to the system: I followed the usual procedure to install Windows updates.

    Method of connection: wireless

    Technical expertise: intermediate level

Performed troubleshooting: because the error # 80071 A 90 type indicated by the system, I followed the instructions of Windows Help and Support, for example to run Microsoft Fix it which did not work; a more advanced method has also been used, who recommended to start Windows Update in Mode safe, then open Windows Update and install the updates and then restart normally. At this point, the problem was that any stage of Windows Update was available.

    Hello amib004,

As much as I know, only Windows Update cannot be run in safe mode. That being said, I saw where install several updates may conflict with each other. Try to disable all updates installation and install the updates failed one at a time.

    Hello

Did you install the SATA drivers first?
You need this driver to recognize the HARD drive!

You must download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. You should find it on the page of the Toshiba driver or the Intel Web site.

You must perform the installation of an external USB FDD drive using the F6 key during the installation of Win XP.

    Hello

    1. what Microsoft 'Fix it' has been run on your machine?

Follow the steps below and check, if it helps.

    Step 1:

Disable all security software and try to install the updates.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
