  I was able to fix the problem by reinstalling windows using the Installation DVD of Vista. He did a "fresh" Reinstall. To do this you first have to set the BIOS to boot from the CD drive instead of the hard drive.

  Insert your Vista DVD and choose repair or install. My Vista files have been basically corrupt but not your strength. If they are not to select Repair will give you the opportunity to do a system restore.

  Don't forget to reinstall Vista to wipe your hard drive and you will lose your files. System Restore will not. But if you supported rose them to an external drive or online so no problem!

• Satellite L300 laptop will not load Windows

  I have a model of Satellite L300 number PSLB0A - 00L 022 running windows Vista.

  The problem is that it does not load Windows. It starts ok and I can access the boot manager and the Setup utility and that's it. It stops just loading.
  After studying the problem, I ran a car aptitude test and the result was the error code 0 x 70. After looking at the code I m under the impression that I need to erase the disc. I have no problem with that.

This DVD contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, specific Toshiba and utility tools. After recovery image installation you will get state out-of-box and clean the preinstalled operating system.

• Laptop will not load Explorer - is there a way to download Firefox without using Explorer? Restore the all too recent dates!

  I think that affected versions of Windows Explorer (we have a card in the laptop, which I believe is the origin of the problem) so that it is more load.   Each book has specific boot order and in this boot order components of different material as drive optical drive, hard drive, or LAN.

  The start is always set in the BIOS settings and nothing, for instance HARD, LAN and ODD disk boot order. If the laptop can not boot from HDD ist starts from second defined device (LAN) and continue.

  Boot order of your laptop satellite does not for me, but somehow, it stays on the startup of the LAN device option and you can see this message on the screen.

  Restart your laptop, and press F2 to enter the BIOS settings. The default value and try again. If the same start arriving portable once again but this time with the F12 for boot options-enter key. With top and bottom arrows have chosen press and device disk HARD come. If the HARD disk is OK, OS should load up. If this is not the case, there is a problem with the operating system preinstalled.

  Last night (14/02/2013), I installed a set of 11 updates (one option, else important) and after restarting my machine after startup logo, the screen of my computer just started flashing from black to grey (when it is grey, I could see my cursor, could move it, but could not do anything else)...   I would really like someone to be able to help me with this. I bought Windows 8 Pro to my laptop from my wife and also 3 other copies for my father-brother machines... and now, I had to disable the Windows updates for each of them because of this!

  Update:

  With the help of my friend and colleague some at CreativX.net, Greg (gsw953), which has tested this situation on a machine of his, we think we have found what was causing the problem:
  All my machines are patched (I used UltraUXThemePatcher to patch mine) to run custom themes, 3 rd-party... Of course, the patcher (all of them, not just the one I use) modifies several system files (for example the shell32.dll file and a few others), what makes your system able to run themes not digitally signed by Microsoft. This seems to be the rub.
  The way I solved this Aalders - UN-patch my system. Most patchers have an uninstall feature that uninstalls the patcher and adds by default, system files not patches in your system from backups that patch is when you have it installed. Once I did, I got all the updates, restarted, then re-patched my system and everything was fine.
  I have the feeling that this same routine can must be made (UN-patch, get updates, re-patch) whenever MS publishes major updates of Win8... It is prudent to disable automatic updates. Better to have Windows Update notifies you and lets you decide if-or-not to install... and also it's a good idea to READ THE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE UPDATES to see what they are - maybe even search them individually on the ' Net before you allow it to install.
  MS has a long history of updates that fub a system patched... it's as if they don't want look us cool themes. they want that we have all the same, default * that they provide only. Shame on them.
  Once again, in the end, the fix: Nations United-PATCH your sytem... get updates... and then re-PATCH. Worked for me. Touch wood...
