HP G60 230US System Boot question

I recently acquired this laptop a colleague because he said it was broken. When I brought home pc, I tried to start it up, but the system does not start. I restart continuously. When you press the power button, error recovery Windows appears and I tried to select all options (Safe Mode, Mode safe mode with networking, last good known Configuration and start Windows normally) but after each selection, click on the computer and the tent system to restart itself back to the Windows error recovery screen. This will continue again and again without a full reboot. I've never seen that happen before and I'm stumped. I asked my colleague to the recovery disks provided with the system, but they have recently been interrupted due to a fire hazard. Suggestions as to what I could do to fix it?

The system is running Windows Vista.

You have a dead hard drive. Your best option, if you want to keep this notebook, is to replace the hard drive. It's pretty simple in most laptops. After replacing the hard drive, simply load a copy of Windows on it and you should be good to go.

  • G60-230US == > does not connect to the wireless network

    Greetings...

I got my new laptop a G60-230US with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 yesterday... I was so excited. I quickly put in place and the network manager. He finds my home network (a router we Robotics MaxG 5641), had the exceptional signal strength, I have provided the password. It didn't connect to the network. I have 3 other devices without any problem. Then I disabled the firewall, antivirus etc. on the computer, I've disabled the security on the router and tried... Still no luck. I called the help desk yesterday evening, and a clueless CSR tried to 'Help me' After I turn the router, computer, WIFI (everything that I had already tried), she suggested that I should contact my ISP and get a new password. I explained to him that the password has been created by me for my own US Robotics router and ISP had nothing to with her... She just kept saying the same thing... and I politely thanked her and hung up at midnight...

This morning, I tried something else. I tried ipconfig / all and I don't have any useful info, except that it says "Device off" I tried ipconfig/release and he told me that the action must be raised. I am the administrator on this computer.

U.S. Robotics indicates that this default router should work for Vista, because a router is independent of the operating system

    Any idea is extremely appreciated...

    Thank you!

    Shankar

I went to the office today max and I bought a new router D-Link Wireless N for $40. Came home and set up... and this baby is immediately connected to 130 Mbps! I'm all set... Great computer... I'm glad it works...

I invite all who have problems with wireless to swap the router and check again...

  • system boot failure, insert system disk and press enter appears that I'm going to solve this problem. ?

    system boot failure

    Hello

Your question does contain all of the required information. Please provide us with the following information.

    1. what changes have been made on the computer until you have encountered the problem?

    2. who is the manufacturer of the computer?

    3. did you reinstall of Windows or recovery CD/DVD drive?

4 is detected in the BIOS setup?

The question could be attributed to several factors, including a failed hard drive or the corruption of the operating system. You can always try these steps and see if that eliminates the problem:

1 disconnect all external equipment connected to the computer, except the monitor, keyboard and mouse, and then restart the computer

    2. check if the hard drive is properly plugged in.

    3. the power supply for the hard drive is fine.

  • HP G60-230US laptop HDMI output never fills TV screen

Interface using HDMI Cable output on my HP G60-230US laptop (Vista and built-in by default Intel graphics software), the image on a LCD TV ever fills the screen - it is only about half as bigger than the screen.  This happens on two LCD TVs in my house - both a new LG 1080 p and an older Magnavox 720 p set. I tried to set the resolution of the screen pretty much all values listed, but nothing has worked.  I have another laptop (an old Lenovo T60p

with a higher end graphic card), that has a DVI output.  When I use it with a DVI-hdmi cable, two TVs show the total size of the image.

Any suggestions on how to get the output full size on a HP G60-230US hdmi TV?

This is the case of the question, with graphics and display using HDMI to image...

I see you have graphics card intel card... here are the steps on the scale manually to the top of the image...

    • Right-click on the Windows desktop, and then click graphics properties to launch the Intel graphics properties window.
    • Click the arrow next to the scaling and select Customize Aspect Ratio
    • Now move the slider beside the horizontal/vertical scale until the image fit to the screen

  • Envy 17 model 17-j102ea SSD Boot question, Legacy Support, BIOS

Hi, first post ever and excuse if this has been covered - if so, please me directly to pertinent information.

    Bought an Envy 17-j102ea...

Hardware problems I would like help / advice for, please:

Legacy support / boot from USB Flash Stick:
Tried to install Windows 8 via a USB bootable work has confirmed...
The laptop does not detect except Legacy Support is turned on...
Once Windows is installed on drive (1 TB 5400 original disc), if I turn OFF then Legacy Support again (as DEFAULT) it starts not from the installed windows now HDD - only when I put Legacy Support back on will it boot.
Can someone please explain / advise?

    Question SSD:
Try to use a 240GB vertex 3 SSD Drive...
Computer laptop wont recognize it- whether it is in Legacy Support mode...
I've seen a few posts on the compatibility and 240 GB not supported...
    It's for real?

    BIOS:
This is a complaint, I want something on this topic, please...
    REALLY.
    Why so basic bios options?
Why can't have two readers in the laptop and choose which start from the first that is alternate between discs easily when I choose?
For a decent computer ", a poor quality BIOS, it disappoints BIG TIME.
It should be fairly easy for programmers to HP create a GUI BIOS updated with the best options.

    * I'm a student in computer SCIENCE and make a clean installation on this laptop with no product key, SSD and a very basic BIOS incompatibility sticker, I find it a little boring, and it takes a lot of my time...

Looking forward to some useful answers.
    Thank you in advance.

Oh, I didn't know you meant that.

    Update:

I bought 8.1 Pro student - implemented on a USB stick (the same Corsair Voyager one) - activated UEFI mode...

It set up perfectly om the 240 GB agility SSD 3!

On the F9 boot menu option it acknowledged even the USB as UEFI.

    Very happy now :))

BUT, can you please help me with something else?

I put the 1 TB HDD in BAY2 5400 original, and it is not recognized at all.

    Any suggestions?

So, thank you for your help miuch. : )

Series (WDM) PCI Intel(r) PRO/100 VE Network Connection on board, two internal EIDE on primary channel IDE hdd, two CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives (one is a secondary channel CD - RW IDE drive, the other is a primary channel DVD - RW SATA), USB, keyboard Dell USB wireless mouse.

As stated in the BIOS boot order:

    DVD-ROM drive
    Floppy drive
    System drive

-XP Home Edition (2002) SP3 with all updates applied Microsoft security.

Noticed that recently the power light will briefly hit the yellow for less than one second and then become green as usual, when the system is turned on (cold start).  He doesn't do it all the time, but it is becoming more common as time passes.

This only happens to the cold start.

He can't restart, or closing session or connection, during the passing of the accounts.

Malicious software system has been checked and is clean.

No hardware changes have been made recently, most recent was upgrading the BIOS.  This update was made about eight months ago.

Have had two other systems go down in the past on the yellow power on the issue of light, and all two ran for awhile after the replacement of the PSU, but ultimately died in the end.

Didn't clean the system for about six months, will do that while I'm waiting.

    Related issue:

    -Intel chipset
-Chipset get thermal paste when the system is cleaned?
-Is a good idea to renew the thermal paste for the CPU, because it has never been done since the system was first purchased?
-Is it safe open the PSU case and clean with compressed air?  Compressed air has been used before, but the case has never been opened.  I want to at least clean the fan power supply of any accumulation of dust and dirt.

I have an anti-static bracelet, I'll use everything in cleaning the system.

    Related question # 2:

-Two ROM discs were bootable before update BIOS A12, now only the SATA DVD - ROM drive is bootable.

As I don't need the CD - RW drive to be bootable, how can I go to change the bootable CD-ROM drive?  BIOS shows only the DVD-ROM drive as bootable, no specification as to which one, is selectable.  He says only: CD-ROM drive.

To clarify, no option or a choice between the two drives is available.  There is only one unspecified generic line.

As all my bootable media is in the form of CD, I don't have the DVD - ROM drive to start, but want the other boot disk, so I can use the DVD - ROM drive to pick up DVD media when necessary.

    System works perfectly ATM.

  • operating system error question

everytime I turn on my laptop it says operating system not found, but when I again turn off the system and make it on, her without saying anything, how to avoid the "question of operating system error? Help me, it will be dangerous for my system? I got to know after installing microsoft office 2010, this error is coming, so help me

    Hi Gaby,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand from the description of the problem that you receive an operating system not found error message on the Windows 7 computer.

I understand this must be frustrating, but don't worry, we're here to help and guide you in the right direction.

This problem may occur if one or more of the following conditions are met:

    a. the basic input/output system (BIOS) does not detect the hard drive.

    b. the hard disk is damaged.

    c. sector 0 of the physical disk has an incorrect or malformed master boot (MBR) record.

Note Some third-party programs or alteration of the disk can damage an MBR.

    d. an incompatible partition is marked as Active.

    e. a partition which contains the MBR is no longer active.

    Try these methods.

    Method 1

I suggest that you update the basic input/output system (BIOS) to the last version by contacting the manufacturer of your motherboard or computer and check if it works.

Important: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    BIOS: Frequently asked questions

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/BIOS-frequently-asked-questions

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then I suggest that you perform repair system on the computer and check if it works.

What are the system recovery options in Windows 7?

  • G60-231WM system recovery problems

    HP Pavilion dv5-1125nr

    Windown Vista 64-bit

I sell my laptop to a family member and have wiped my hard drive and tries to perform a system recovery. When executing the partitian recovery, I get all the way to a screen that says that it is to install Windows, but it hangs just there for hours and hours. I tried this 3 times without success.

I tried using the recovery disks that I created when I bought the laptop without a bit of luck, too. It goes through the first 2 discs, no problem, but when I put Disc 3 nothing happens. I wonder if I can use a recovery from another laptop disk or what are my options at this point. I'm a little desperate because I was paid for the computer and am supposed to ship it tomorrow!  Until 3 days ago when I started this process, it worked flawlessly. I did system restore many times without problem, so I am at a loss.

The other HP laptop we have is a G60-231WM. I use the restore disks created on this laptop to complete the process of restoration on the Pavilion? Any guidance would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Hello

Your other laptop recovery disks don't work on your dv5.

I would like to try to wipe the entire hard disk including the recovery Partition and then reinstall the operating system using your recovery disks - they will re - create the recovery Partition during the installation.

Download and install Killdisk on the link below - (this application will write zeros to the entire disk).

    http://Software.LSoft.net/KillDiskSuiteFree-Setup.exe

Download and install ImgBurn on the link below.

    http://download.CNET.com/ImgBurn/3000-2646_4-10847481.html

Access the application of disc kill you have installed in all programs, open the main folder, then select Bootable Disk creators, then the BACK Bootable CD Creator that will burn the ISO on a blank CD bootable.

During the following process do not worry about all warnings as your recovery DVDs will reformat the HARD drive.

Insert this CD into your PC which is unable to load the operating system properly. Close Notepad, and then start again to boot from the CD of Killdisk and follow the instructions on the screen to kill disk.

A brief description of the process here is Killdisk.

Use it to wipe the entire hard drive (f10) - ( make sure to include all partitions and then start the process - this may take a few hours!).  At the end of this process, you should see a single HARD disk, not partitions.

When the process is complete, remove the CD from Killdisk, insert your first HP recovery disk and then hold the power button until the laptop turns off then restart the laptop to try the installation again.

    Kind regards

I recommend that you create a system image on an external hard drive instead of DVD. The disk and its partitions uses a lot of DVD if it's the medium of your choice. DVD is not as reliable as external drives. There are free programs like Macrium reflect Free edition which allows you to create a clone of your hard drive with all partitions.

Make a clone will have no effect on your current plan of the original score. Windows will always recognize the partitions. If you want to keep the function F11 Recovery Manager does not change the partition scheme. You can also access the Recovery Manager through the recovery media that you have created.
