HP g62-149wm webcam

I would like to be able to turn on my webcam (with a click or two) to register myself so my son had memories of me after I pass but I don't know how to turn it on! I tried to type in QUICK PLAY after clicking on start (windows icon), but nothing shows up! So any help here would be much appreciated and I thank you in advance for your time and your help about this matter!

Hi Ronnie!

Please try this:
Find and use the Webcam software that came with your computer

If your computer is equipped with a built-in webcam, HP has preinstalled software that allows you to record and share video from webcam: Cyberlink YouCam, MediaSmart WebCam or TouchSmart Webcam. You can find these products of software on your computer as follows:
  1. Click Start to bring up the start menu.
  2. Enter one of the following words in the search field:
    • YouCam (for some desktop all-in-one PCs and many portable computers)
    • MediaSmart (for with many all-in-One desktop PC and laptop computers)
    • TouchSmart (for touchscreen PC)

  3. Click on the name of the software of the webcam from the list of search results. If the name of your software of the webcam does not appear in the list of search results, try to search again using one of the other names.
  4. What happens when you open the software?
    • If you can't find and open the webcam for your computer software, then go to the next step.
    • If you have found the software of the webcam, it opens and you see a picture, then finished. Your webcam works.
    • If you have found the software for the webcam, it opens, but you can't see the video in the main display window, restart the computer and try again. If the problem persists, use the section "Video does not appear in the webcam software '.

    I need to replace my motherboard. Number of room so that it is 595184-001, but when I look up the same part number of HP Service & parts web page here shows them only saw 2 × 2.0 USB ports but mine has 3 × 2.0 USB ports... If anyone knows why this is or where I can find the motherboard correct for my HP G62-149WM, who made the 3 USB ports? Thank you in advance for your time and your help in this matter! Ron

    Here is the Manual:

    See page 4-33. The third USB port is on a daughterboard, not directly soldered on the motherboard. If the motherboard itself has just two usb ports on the left and the right one is on a small Board. When you replace the motherboard, you can reuse the daughter card to give you this third USB port.

    Hello

    You can certainly move to a 750 GB 5400 RPM HARD drive, a 1 TB would also be possible, but it is not listed as a compatible hdd in a service guide. After a reset, the laptop will be in the same condition that you used for the first time (OS preinstalled). The recovery partition is going to be on the hard drive as well. Size is not too large, I think that it would be up to 15-20 GB...

  • G62-149wm: OS after you replaced the HARD drive

    I was good recently a laptop G62 with a hdd dead by a friend who did not feel it was worth the cost of repairs. I tell myself that I can put an ssd inside, and it will be a pretty decent laptop.  My problem concerns the operating system after that I do this. I have my own copy of Windows 7 (64 bit), but I read that the key for the original version on the dead hard drive is also on the bios for faster installation. And if you install a different version, it can cause problems with some versions of windows in some laptops. My question is can I use my copy of windows 7 or what I have to go through the trouble to use the key to laptops to burn another copy of the windows Web site. Possible stupid question but I want to know everything before you start this project.

    Hello

    This machine originally shipped with Windows 7, then you will be very well - injection of digital product keys started with Windows 8 - just install Windows 7 and enter your product key from the usual way.

    If necessary, original software and drivers are available on the following link.

  • HP G62-149WM/updated software driver for card MicroSoft Virt.WiFi Miniport

    (OS = windows 7 Home Premium)   PROBLEM = IN DEV. MNGR. updated SOFTWARE (MICROSOFT VIRTUAL WiFi MINIPORT ADAPTER) a MESSAGE WINDOWS SURGIT IN SAYING some THING LIKE "IT DON'T RECOGNIZE the PUBLISHER OF THE DRIVER SOFTWARE", THEN ME GIVES OPTIONS to EACH UPDATE DRIVER any WAY OR BASICALLY NOT TOO... SO I GUESS MY QUESTION IS "HOW TO KNOW WHERE TO FIND THE RIGHT DRIVER FOR ABOVE MENTIONED ADAPTER IN ADDITION TO WITH AUTO WINDOWS." UPDATE? I'D APPRECIATE ANY HELP REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND I THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!

    The Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport is a driver built into Windows 7 and should not need to be updated. The correct version of the pilot was installed when Windows 7 was installed and no new updates of this driver is necessary. If and only if, Microsoft has released the update of the driver, you are trying to install, you should install it. Please check the source of the driver before installing this doubtful driver.

  • HP G62-149WM TROUBLESHOOTING SCREEN

    Need help ASAP! Hello aid... so here's the problem! I decided to turn off Internet Explorer through the OFF... but TURN WINDOWS FEATURES ON AND after it restarts, my screen resolution is at 1280 × 800 and I don't know how to get back to his original 1366 × 768! There is now a strip of inch long black on the right side of the screen! I turned MY back 11 but sound still there! I removed the battery/power cord and power supply for 25 seconds, but still didn't work! I would appreciate your help in this matter and I thank you all in advance!

    OK, problem solved! Had nothing to do with software, drivers, etc., it's the new display cable which was kinda stuck! I noticed, that he was not the "stretch" that the former had years of use, so it is a real good interlocking and studded bezel or it may have came off the screen very slightly to where it was not connected to all the pins! Its works fine now... Imagine that! So after reinstall 2 different version of windows (7 & 8.1) not exactly knowing the problem, now comes the monotonous task of installing updates AGAIN! I'm so good with it! Have a good! And thanks again!

  • Driver Intel Turbo Boost Technology (taken from HP's Support site)

    Hello Forum members!

    OK, so roll with me here! I have a HP G62-149WM I upgraded to it is (out of the box) Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit for Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit... Then I went into page HP driver download to install the Turbo Boost driver well, as you know, it basically requires you to type in your model, you choose what operating system runs your make and model, and then it shows all the different drivers, right? So my question now is because it does not show 8.1 Windows as an operating system option, the Turbo Boost driver always works on my 8.1 win even if it was made on a technical level to work on Win 7? Thank you in advance for your time and your help in this matter!

    Ron

    Hello @ronnieron ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

    Unfortunately, this has not appeared to get coverage Windows 8.1 with respect to the drivers. You can try to install the Windows 7 driver, which might work, but it probably does not work well, or not at all.

    Here's the driver page, in case it becomes necessary: Drivers of laptop HP G62-149WM

    Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!

  • Cannot get past Boot Screen manufacturer

    I can't get my g62-149wm to go beyond the HP screen. I tried to hit escape to go into the boot options and f10 to enter the BIOS but nothing happens. It is blocked here. Anyone have any ideas?

    Do like me. I had to buy a SATA docking station, and then start on a live usb Sabayon linux (without the internal hdd is present) and back up all the data on my external hard drive. After the backup, I just formatted the internal hard drive and recovery DVDs to restore factory settings.

    You can also do a new installation or anything else you want because the laptop must be initiated with the hard drive in it. I don't have any other PC to make a back up so had to use this usb flash drive or a live cd (needs all flash usb plugged) with linux on it.

    I downloaded Cyber Cam and was able to use the webcam in my HP (HP G62t).  However, as I removed Cyber Cam I was not able to use the webcam.  I checked on the master device and the webcam is turned on and the software and drivers are up to date.

    How can I access the webcam on this laptop.  Help!  Thank you-

    Please check to see if you have Cyberlink YouCam on your laptop, I believe that it is the application with which we embarked on what you can use the webcam.

  • Webcam does not appear in Device Manager

    I have a model of portable pavilion G62-233NR windows 7 64-bit, with a built-in webcam.  YouC'm software was bundled with it and worked.  Now the webcam is not found by one of the video programs AE Skype, Youcam... etc...

    I also noticed that the webcam does not appear in Device Manager. I tell me that I have to reinstall a driver for it but do not know what driver to install. HP has the following availble drivers for my model but which?  If one of the pilots was labeled "webcam", the task would be easy. I hope because the driver is missing in Device Manager that has installed a driver will set missing cam... I'm worried because I don't see a driver named "webcam" in the list... but what else could the problem, how can I get the driver installed, if that's the problem.

  • Available to the pins of the webcam module

    I'm building a detector simple alpha particle and want to use this webcam that I'm waiting to receive. So I hope someone can help me understand what the pins are on the webcam module.

    As the picture below shows the number of spare parts is 626656-001 and the list of products, it is used in can be found here: http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=626656-001. I searched for useful patterns, but without result.

    Thank you!

    Having received the cam [1] and the corresponding cable (P/N DD0AX6CM002) I did a second round of research and came up with the answer in an old NET [2]. The user CompRepairGurus referenced schemas [3] and provided this image:

    This information has been verified by seeing how the pin 1 and 2 related to a twisted cable pair and using a multimeter to verify that the PIN 4 and 5 have a connectivity with areas of grounding of the module camera (scew holes).

    So the answer regarding the image in the first post is:

    A = pin 1 Data +.

    B = pin 2, Data-

    C = pin 3, + 3.9VDC

    D = pin 4, ground

    E = pin 5, soil
