  • you recently requested a reset password

For the 2nd time this week I received the following message is displayed:

"You have recently requested a password reset to your Apple ID. To complete the process, click on the link below... »

The message goes on to say that I should change my password again and again my security settings, if I have not made this request.  It is a rather disturbing and hassle.  Whenever I change my password I need to change on multiple devices and I often have to change more than once.  Is there some security settings I need to change?

I hope that you realize that if you have not actually reset your password, this message can probably be a scam to get your Apple ID and password. This has nothing to do with security settings. When you change your password, then you have to make changes on every device and computer that you have. If you make the change for security reasons, then be sure to change your password for all your online accounts and inform your credit card providers.

If you change it because you do not remember, then I offers memory s classes or write it down somewhere. Really, there is no reason to forget.

  • iCloud password reset scam e-mail?

Received an email from Apple, as never before, to an alternative e-mail, not my address to iCloud.  He said: "you recently requested a password reset or unlock your Apple ID", with links.  Being suspicious of both the message sent to my other account and grammar, I did follow links in the email.  Am I right in thinking it will be a scam?

It seems certainly doubtful, so I encourage you to report it.

  • I asked for a password reset, but I never got the email

I just upgraded to Windows 7 to 10 and Firefox does not recognize me (it was my default under Windows 7). I don't remember my password and have requested to reset twice, but received no email either time. I checked spam, but not luck.

    Hello

I know that's probably not very helpful, but have you checked if your e-mail address is correct? What is the e-mail address used previously to tell Firefox sync?

    Keep us informed!

  • How can I find the private forum that was set up for me about my hotmail password reset problem?

You have found the information I sent to reset my password to be insufficient. I need to give you additional information you need, but the link you sent to your email address doesn't seem to take me anywhere where I can do.

In addition, some of the information requested was for my credit card, but I'm using a free account and I guess I don't need to present this type of information. Is this correct?

    Hi Daniel,.

I know not who talk you to or by what method (phone, online, email, chat,...), or how it started, but I strongly suspect that is NOT anyone of Hotmail and you should stop communicating with them and providing personal information any more than you already have and immediately delete all emails from them and who come in the future and do not go to all the links in the emails and do not open attachments to emails.  I'm almost certain it's a scam and an attempt to identity theft and possibly worse.

Now let's awhile back and check something.  Did you password reset instructions below and receive the email them with a link to reset?  If so, this may be valid; However, if the link is not valid (or even if it is still perhaps not trust because he could easiily be redirected) and request information (enamel on their part is not ask for information but just give a link), especially as your credit card, then it is totally wrong and what I said above applies. In this case, I post on the forum and forget that normal reset method and get help directly from them where you KNOW who you're talking about.

If they want to use the e-mail process (or need to because you have not provided no alternative), then ask you provide the link they will send (I guess they won't) or to include a way to check for certain that the email is from them given the circumstances - perhaps including a few special as coded message "this message is verified to support Hotmail with the code we agreed on Au93kgke9le ' or some thing like this and ask them to send you a private link response so you can send private code and not in the open air in the thread.

To resolve this issue, go to http://windowslivehelp.com/product.aspx?productid=1 for support of Hotmail.  For assistance with your password, post your question in the following forum: http://windowslivehelp.com/forums.aspx?forumid=d3fda415-1e53-4007-8e0c-2a77180ffb1d.   Here is specific information on the password reset: http://windowslivehelp.com/solution.aspx?solutionid=bf5d34bf-db28-44ca-ac9a-93838d81b2d6 but be careful if the messaging process is used and do as shown above, or make them use another method (or offer a safe alternative).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • system won't take my user name, says password insert password reset disk

don't have a password reset disk

    Hello

    You can try the following.

Shut down the PC.  Tap away at f8 that you start the PC to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  If windows will load in this mode, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point at least 24 hours prior to the issue of logon and then proceed to the restoration.  When you are finished, Windows will restart as normal in order to check if you can now connect correctly.

Another option if the above does not help is as follows.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Start using last good known Configuration" and press ENTER.

If the two proposals above do not help, try using a request for reset password such as the free utility on the link below.

Not really, no.  It could be an accident too - someone ' one with a user name very similar to yours that's typo in their username, may not know why they are unable to open a session, requested a password reset, thinking they forgot what it.

  • Question connects to the password reset on Tablet

I forgot the password for my tablet. Apparently, this requires a password reset disk to change it, but since I obviously can't log my tablet, I had to create it from my laptop. This does not seem to have worked, and the steps seem to imply that, in order to change the password, I need to create a password reset disk for the Tablet, and the password reset disk I created on the laptop can be used only to reset the password on the laptop. These two options are obviously really stupid. My question is, how do I reset my password?

    Andy

What password?  If you're referring to your ID from Microsoft, you must go to the secure online form, because they are the only ones who have access to your account

Given that the account of emissions contain confidential information, you must use the below secure support portal. They are the only ones who have access to your account information, we simply don't have.

The forum has Microsoft has been removed and all associated accounts must now wonder online by using the Microsoft online form

  • Responsibility to allow only for user password resets (for personal help from the front desk)

    Hi all

Someone managed to create a responsibility to allow only the password resets? The idea is to assign this responsibility to our office staff help password reset requests. They will not have the opportunity to do anything outside of search for users, and then reset the password. This would allow a large number of the number of tickets to be processed directly by our help desk staff.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Create a custom liability (similar to the system administrator), which only has the (security > user > set) screen.

Why don't you use reset them password 'features' "that comes with the application? See (Note: 399766,1 - FAQ of the Reset password feature) and (Note: 763352.1 - how to set "password forgotten"to work without treatment in 11i?) For more details.
