  • HP G72-227WM Notebook PC Windows 7

My problem started when I down loaded either 9. First my computer began to freeze and stop either close unexpectedly. I called HP support who instructed me to put my browser I.E., I did. Then I started having problems when I played games on pogo, (gel and throw me out of the game rooms).  Microsoft Update said there was a problem with my graphics driver and I need to download a new, I went to the HP support and downloaded that suggested for my laptop. Now my taskbar disappears when I'm on the computer for a few hours (3 or 4) and won't return until I do a restart, and I always have freezes and throw game rooms. Can someone please tell me what to do?

  • G62t-350 CTO Notebook PC: broken G62t - 350 CTO Notebook PC cooling fan

I have a 6 yr old G62t - 350 CTO Notebook PC and I am a VERY OLD non-techie. It overheats and goes dormant. I know that the fan is shot because I get an error message saying so. I currently use a "chill mat" to keep this baby running, but I would like to know how to take out and its difficulty. Also, you may need to buy a new fan (?) and, of course, HP (and even Best Buy) say 'we have NO PARTS. " Would be really grateful for the help; older people don't throw away their 'stuff' keep us running forever... If possible. Thank YOU, TimothyT,

A computer is fundamentally different from a model "T". They get obsolete and unusable, so that you can always push a model "T" around town if you can make it work. On a laptop six year, to go on the market of third party to find the parts, but they are available. Best Buy has no idea and no room. They send all repairs laptop for a place in TX and earn money as an intermediary for such things.

First thing you need is the repair:

    Manual

"How-to" for the replacement of the fan is on p. 4-41 to 4-46. This will be a virtual "gut" of the laptop he stripping up to the motherboard and remove the motherboard. It can be done by an amateur who is able to read and follow directions and has a logical mind and memory to keep track of screws and where they are released, so they can be released. The drop-down strip isn't easy, but the real test is winding.

This is the part you need:

GL40 UMA systems (for models 1.1 and 1.2 only) 606573-001

How will I know? Your CPU is a Pentium Dual, which means that it works on the motherboard chipset low-end and it has "integrated" or "UMA" video However, I am fallible, and the intelligent way to go about the repair is to open and remove first and then buy the spare part based on what you already have. Saving a lot of feedback.

Assuming I'm located on the part you need here is:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/HP-Pavilion-G72-227WM-Intel-cooling-fan-heatsink-606573-001-B2-Z3-i3-/152206728276?hash=item23703a5c54:g:380AAOSw0UdXsfLg

You want to use this opportunity to eliminate there all the dust and when you go back you need to use good thermal paste applied correctly. We can find you a video well, no doubt.

  • I don't remember my password

    I have a

HP Pavilion G72-227WM 17.3 "Windows 7, 3 GB and I can't rememer my password.  I tried to go into safe mode, but that doesn't matter.  Help, please.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Using another PC, download the app from the following link and save it in your downloads folder.

    PC login now

Once the download is complete, open your download folder and double-click on the installer - this will result in another file, which is the disk image (.) ISO) you need to burn to a blank CD.

Now, you will need to use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.

When the disk has been created, shut down the PC you can not log on, press the ESC key as soon as you press the power button to access the Start Menu, insert the CD, select Boot Options (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press enter - peut also have you to "Press any key" to boot from the CD if asked to.

Follow the instructions on the guide here to remove the current password.

  • Documents in Word 2002 for Windows 7

I just bought a new laptop (HP G72-227WM).

Right now I have XP MS with a lot of Word 2002 documents on my old desk.

The new book has Windows 7 (Home Premium x 64 installed).

I'll be able to copy my Word 2002 documents (on a USB key), and then load them to the new laptop and have them supported by Windows 7?

If so, how can I do that? Link to the solution, if possible. Thank you.

Yes, you can move your documents to your new laptop using a USB key.  HOWEVER,Windows 7 will not open your documents.  (Windows 7 is an operating system not a program document).  You will need Word 2003 or above, such as Word 2002 are not supported on Windows 7 (and not sure it to even load.

  • WARNING: Your computer is running on battery power...

    HP G72-227wm laptop
    WIN 7
    Pentium Dual Core CPU
    64 bit OS.

Has had HD failure, could perform a recovery. Contacted HP and ordered the recovery of disk.
Drive arrived today, buy a new HD as well as a battery.
Put the new HD and the battery in the computer and disc 1 of the set of recovery disks.
Start the computer, brought windows loading, the Recovery Manager, then came...

WARNING: Your computer is running on battery. This process requires the computer to be connected on current alternative. Connect your computer to the current alternative. and then click OK to continue.

Of course the computer is plugged, I changed the Socket 3 times. When the power is disconnected there is no light next to the AC port. Supply port, then orange white light.
HP tech says it's because that its battery CHARGE.
side note - after being on the charger, the light is now constant white. Assuming that the new battery is now completely charged.* *.

I tried the following sequences with the tech:

Unplug > take out battery > connect the PC with 1 disk of all recovery > reboot > same caveat:

Unplug > out battery > pressed the power button on battery for 40 seconds > reinsert the battery > connect the PC with 1 disk of all recovery > reboot > same caveat:

After a considerable time on the phone, the tech said that my computer is obsolete and are no longer usable by HP and advised to take it to a local computer store.

It wasn't a problem before the failure of the HD. I hope someone can help.

    Thank you

In fact, it was the power cord. I took it to the local Micro Center, they plugged the cord in and out we went. So for $ 38 on the recovery.

  • G72 laptop: black screen

The screen will turn black when you move the cover forward or backward. Sometimes I have to hit the cover of the screen lights up. What would be the most likely cause?

    jimcra47

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

Crushed connection or in bulk to the display?  Just a guess, of course.  Something is loose or not making the connection properly at some point along the way.  Opening and closing of the lid are put to the test "whatever" and causing the display of snap to.

You might stop to move the lid if you want the connection stays in place - at least until you have your data backed up critics.    You could, of course, rely on an external monitor if you lose the use of the display on your portable computer.

Could be the screen itself - I think that spending would not such an effect if that was the case.

Depending on your skill level and the real root cause, you might want to take a look inside:

    Can be an easy fix...

If you do not wish to disassemble your laptop on your own - and a lot of use are not computer bits spread out on an office - you could take the laptop to the local House of reliable repair.

You want to have backed up your data before doing this - and, more important still, you may want to remove all personal and private data from the laptop before allowing anyone access it.  Make sure you have 'extra' backups of critical data - maybe for a Cloud backup and/or a USB.
