HP HDX 16 t Premium - screen goes black after a few seconds

Just today my screen started going black out of no where (when I played StarCraft 2, a high-performance PC game.) Now, he's doing regularly (after a few seconds to about one minute.) It's almost as if my computer goes into mode 'sleep' but I can't wake up. This happens less often when I put the brightness of my screen on a lower setting, and tends to fade before going to black instead of going just instantly black. I also have an external monitor attached, and when my laptop monitor goes black the external display remains lit and fully operational.

Some things to note:

-The power cord is attached and plugged in, and turned on my computer.

-J' have a cooling block and my computer is not overheating.

-The battery has full juice.

-J' tried to restart my computer several times and still have the same problem.

-C' is the case even when I'm not running high performance games or programs.

-My settings to be able to tell my computer never sleep, decrease intensity after 10 minutes (5 minutes for the battery) and the screen turns off after 20 minutes (15 minutes on the battery.)

-When the laptop screen is on the brightest display settings, it seems to be flickering.

I did some research and it seems to be a problem with the LCD capacitors going bad. If anyone can check this? If this is the case, is there a way I can replace and where would I do my shopping?

Thanks in advance

These are as common as dirt

Look at page 3-9 for the part number of the inverter.

Lamp of Duel 496467-001

Unique lamp 488317-001

If it's a double lamp, there will be four wires coming out of the bottom of the screen and a unique lamp will count two. You won't suddenly sure until you take it apart.

You can also Google the correct reference to find a third party retailer and there's the HP parts store, but they are usually expensive.

  • screen goes black after a few minutes inactivity

    When I'm reading or watching something, the screen becomes black. If I'm streaming videos, audio is still on. If I hit the touch pad, the screen turns back on.

    Maybe the problem is with your power management settings:

    See the following article:

    Disable on Windows 7 or Vista power management
    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/disable-power-management-on-Windows-Vista/

  • AL1716 screen turns black after a few seconds. If I turn the monitor power off & on again, it works - 2s

    The monitor worked fine for a few years, so is no longer under warranty. I was about to throw.

    Then the monitor I bought to replace, was damaged on the way to the group practice site.

    Now, I hope to fix the Acer monitor.

    When the computer starts, and a new screen loads, the monitor it shows for a few seconds. Once the computer on the desktop, if I turn off the monitor and turn it back on, it displays the desktop perfectly for a few seconds.

    The monitor I replaced it with also works very well with the computer. He collided with another device, when the car in front of me stops suddenly and there is a piece missing from the screen in the lower left corner. It looks like modern art in the lower part with some of them white and black and a few vertical lines and horizontal lines. I can continue to use it, since what I need lies in the upper part of the screen. I learned the keyboard command to shut down the computer. The windows key, followed by the right arrow, followed by the Enter key.

    I watched a few videos for repair of monitor on Youtube.

    It seems that the capacitors are the typical element which spoils first.

    So I guess I'll break the front off the monitor and see if the card has the capacitors top of the pop up. I can use capacitors with the same intensity of micro-Farouk and the voltage equal or better than the other monitor.

    I've recently learned step secret beginning of successful welding.

    You must have a clean tip.

    When you clean the tip of the soldering iron, it should have the appearance of copper. If weld does not stick to the point, it is not clean enough. I used a wet sandpaper dry and scoured it. They are sold with a protective coating that must be removed. If it is not removed it clogging the tip.

  • Screen goes black for a few seconds while playing games

    I come here who need help, I was this problem for some time and were not able to find the solution on my own.

    The question:

    Sometimes when I play games my screen will go black at a random time for a period of time (sometimes only a term of 5 to 10 seconds, other times up to a minute) and then gets himself and I am able to continue to play. The sound continues to play during the blackout, but I have no control of my computer. Nothing does not and cannot use commands such as ctrl + alt + delete. Sometimes, when my computer is recovering from the black screen, I hear the fans on my GPU boost up to about 80%. I put in MSI afterburner to increase my fan speed as the temperature of my card. Sometimes during recovery from a black screen, my fans will increase from 25% to 80%. Then, there is 80% for the rest of the time until I reset my computer. Once my computer is reset, my card will be 25% more.

    Contextual and computer information:

    This question is not started past until I installed and new graphics card and reinstalled windows 7. The GPU has been tested before I reinstalled windows 7 and everything is perfect. no power outages. I reinstalled windows 7 because I had an SSD.

    Here are my features right now:

    PROCESSOR FX-8350
    Card MOTHER Asrock 970 Extreme3
    RAM (2) 4 GB DDR3 1600 and (2) 8 gb DDR3 1866
    SSD 120 gb w / windows 7 installed top
    GPU Radeon r9 290 (upgrade a radeon 6950 which took perfect)
    Corsair power 800w

    a few last things to add that can be useful:

    -I did not black when using my computer and do not play games screens.
    -J' usually have low games such as the League of legends. who are not too intensive on the gpu
    -When I insert in the UEFI, my RAM displays all the sticks clocked at 1600 MHz. Even if 2 of my poles are 1866.
    -My gpu never went more than 74 degrees since ive installed, so I don't think its an overheating problem.

    If you need more information, let me know and ill be happy to provide it. Any help will be MUCH appreciated. I get crazy at this time because I can't figure this thing out lol

    Thank you - Nick

    Thanks for the help! I actually just figured it on mine.

    Here's what the matter was.

    Afterburner in fact has not been increasing fan speed, I had put in place as the time grew. Tried running my r9 290 to 60% of the speed of the fan. Never had a black screen again. I'm glad that I can play games now. Only thing that sucks is my r9 290 is a powercolor card that uses a unique suction fan and blows air on the side. THE THING IS EXTREMELY NOISY at 60% lol but I managed to get the r9 290 for only $200, so I can't complain.

  • Satellite 3000 - X 4: screen goes black after start

    Hello

    I have a laptop of s3000 - x 4 satellite.

    swiched top upward start then the screen goes black, I can just do the display to see loading, windows
    This happens even if I can get it to boot in safe mode, or when I enter setup.
    If I'm lucky, I have a minute of commissioning until the display changes. and as soon as I restart, I'm square.

    can anyone help? If it is a component, it is easy to find and replace?
    see you soon

    Colin

    Hello

    Have you tried to connect the external display?
    If this is not the case, try it. Also check out the switching between display devices with the FN + F5 key combination
    If this does not help, I would pick up the laptop with the Toshiba Recovery CD supplied. Also try to improve the shape of the Tosh site graphics driver.

    But if it won't work and you can't see anything on the screen so I guess there must be something wrong with the hardware. In this case only the ASP in your country is able to help you.

  • Screen goes black after the connection to the laptop.

    The login screen appears and I can connect.  Then it takes a long time for the computer to think, but it never goes to my office.  The screen goes black.  I did Control + Alt + Delete to close and turn off the computer.  It's a laptop and I had trouble with the electrical cord were staying not 'on '.  I don't do social networks, or open unsolited E mails.  Is there a function key which will solve this problem?

    {t is a laptop and I had trouble with the electrical cord were staying not 'on'.}

    The above should explain more on your part.

    Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    See you soon.
  • Screen guard randomly goes black for a few seconds
    At random times, but especially when I'm using outlook or to access the internet (not always), my screen will go black for a few seconds, then back on, but with the slightly distorted screen. I have connected a new monitor to the computer to see if it was a problem with the monitor, but it always does with the new screen, so I know it's the PC itself. How can I fix it?
    Hello
    What is the number and model of your computer and your monitor?
    Method 1:
    Step 1: check the issue in safe mode:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true
    Step 2:
    Perform the clean boot and check:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
    Method 2:
    Try to uninstall and reinstall the graphics driver and check.
    a. right click on my computer, then select Properties
    b. on the Hardware tab, find the button to open the Device Manager
    c. your graphics card must be included under the heading of the graphics card.
    d. double-click the name of your graphics card to open a window of properties of your current card.
    e. tab driver, click Uninstall.
    f. restart the computer and the graphics driver will be automatically installed.
