It will work without any problem with this model. It will connect you to the 3 expansion port located on the left side of your laptop.

All the steps how you should do you will find on page 23 of this service documentation.

  • Windows 7 drivers HDX16-1101ea

    Hi all

I recently installed a beta version of Windows 7 on a new partition and I'm having some problems with drivers, in general, but especially with the sound.

Audio default W7 drivers are hit and Miss.  Research in the Device Manager it detects a "high definition Audio Device" and also a "IDT HD CODEC" I don't know enough about these devices to find out whether or not they are installed correctly.  Apparently not because after a day or 2 the delivery of this configuration, I'm having problems with audio playback, there is a severe delay during playback of the sounds, CPU 0 and 1, both run at 100% and I can see that there are 2 sound processes that are causing demand.  If I remove the device in Device Manager and reboot everything works fine again for a day or 2 then something happens and the process repeats.  Also I can right click the IDT device and search for a driver update and this has the same effect of the problem, but only for a day or 2.  I have told this time several, but I did not meet a permanent fix for this yet.

Also, if I start the Vista Device Manager shows a Codec IDT and a Nvidia audio driver.  I think it would be a good idea to try to install drivers Nvidia Sound directly for W7 but I have no idea of which ones I should use (Nvidia seem to be very pro-active with their versions of driver W7).  I think that maybe I should try the latest nForce? But I think they are drivers of motherboard?

All my other drivers were (x 64) Vista driver HP pages and seem to work fine.

    Any help would be appreciated

  • HDX16 with VISTA keyboard repeat letters

My HDX16-1140us with VISTA (Home premium) reeepeatsss leettters whhen I tyyype; yeess likke just thiiss is helll! Sometimes he, s the first letter so that 'rent' the P has disappeared!  Please help. Thank you a show

    Hello @upsetuser ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that your keyboard repeats letters when typing.

Make sure that the sticky keys is not enabled. To check if it is enabled press SHIFT 5 times repeatedly and you should hear a beep or receive a pop up on the activation or deactivation of the sticky keys.

If StickyKeys is not enabled, perform a hard reset on the phone. Turn it off, remove the AC adapter and remove the battery. Press and hold the button for 30 seconds and reinsert the AC adapter and the battery. Turn on the laptop and test.

The language of the keyboard reset may also help:

    1. click on start.
    2. click on Control Panel.
    3. click on clock, language and region.
    4. click on the region and language.
    5. click on the keyboards and languages tab.
    6. click on change keyboards...
    7. on the general tab, make sure that English (United States) - U.S. is selected in the default input language field.
    8. click on any other keyboards in the list of installed services.
    9. click on remove.
    10. Repeat for all other non-English (United States) keyboards.

Finally, reconnect the keyboard cable. There is no guide service available for your laptop so it will require a careful disassembly of the laptop to disconnect the keyboard connections and reconnect them.

If none of this works, you may need to try a restore system before the issue started. To do this tap F11, while the laptop turns on to access the HP Recovery Manager. Select the option system restore and choose a date before the problem started. After restoring to test the keyboard. A recovery of the system (reinstalling Windows) should be the last resort before you send the laptop for service.

If you decide the laptop needs to be repaired you can contact HP telephone support at 1-800-474-6836 in North America. For all other regions click here.

    Hope this helps!

  • HP-HDX16-1375DX: NON WORKING CONDITION

    Respected Sir / Madam,.

    Here Yogi, I bought "HP - HDX16 - 1375DX Premium Notebook PC-P/N: NV033UA #ABA" in 2009. Now its not working at all.

While it worked the ' Error Message regarding graphics card "appeared whenever I have start. But everything on screen appeared normally. So, I had not paid attention to this. But all of a sudden one day in conditions of work do not start at all. First I thought that it was a battery problem since its battery life was also expiring. I purchased & installed a new battery, but it still refuses to boot / start. I gave him to repair & got to know her "(G.C.)" graphics card has been corrupted & since its integrated with the 'mother', its necessary to install the new "motherboard integrated with G.C." to get back to working condition.

First of all, I want to know "is it true that, (NVIDIA) graphics card is integrated into the motherboard" in my product?

I think of him ordering by "Official HP", & so would like to know the approximate price of the parts, and part No.. (Motherboard integrated with G.C. Gold Motherboard & G.C. separately)

After the command of these parts & install them with the new battery, is it possible to put my laptop in working condition?

Also, for your information, the laptop warranty has expired in 2010.

You asked for your advice/help & awaiting your response.

    Yours Sincerely,

    YOGI_1.

Yes the graphics is soldered to the motherboard. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

There is only a single motherboard for model that... 496460-001

    HP is still traded $243:

This ebay seller has a bunch of them for around $60:

  • HDX16 unknown device?

    High guys,

    My Machine is: FV713EA

I need help to install the latest driver missing my HDX16-1155EE system.

I have crossed a clean Vista 64 home premium, active setup, installed all the hp and third-party drivers apart one fromthis.

Looking in the Device Manager in Control Panel:

I can see the yellow marked PCI Bus device defined as unknown device. It is the only device on the PCI Bus.

    Below are my system specs:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01648296

So maybe someone who has the same system will be kind enough to help me by going to:

Panel, Manager of devices: view: device connection. Maybe he or she will be able to tell me the name or to this device under the PCI Bus.

It is a machine of 2 months used to give me BlueScreenOfDeath 184 in a single day. Config from HP is a joke.

    Thanks for any help

    I have a laptop HP HDX16, Windows 7 64 bit.

It seems my computer updated automatically and restarts, only the external monitor work, when I choose to extend my screen, I get my monitor and a VGA, my laptop screen display is no longer an option for selection. I have plugged my monitor and rebooted the machine that sometimes these things is fixed by a reboot. To restart that my laptop came fine, as soon as I plugin my external monitor, the screen of the laptop stops working. I try selecting the screen externd utility in Windows, but it is not an option. If I unplug my monitor the screen of the laptop does not return, I have to put it to sleep then wake him up for the screen to go back to the laptop.

I'm sure that's not material related such as this worked yesterday, and I am able to see the screen, just not at the same time. I need to use my two screens, according to me, that I can't work without them both. Help, please.

Included are the screenshots when the screen is selected.

    Thank you in advance,

    Rick

Guys, I ran the update utility Fixit windowns and it ran for about 15 minutes, he pointed out that there are two errors with updates, although when I looked at the log of update, the newspaper didn't report any error.  So right after that the utility was done, I could see two screens.

Thank you for your time, and I hope that the post helps someone else who maybe expiriencing the same problem.

I saw the keyboard on eBay for $30.00 USD. You should be able to find that a qualified person who can replace it for you while you wait. It all depends on where you stand in the world.  The keyboard is easy to Exchange if you know what you're doing. The American keyboard HP part number is 496672-001. • HDX16 buttons in windows 7

After upgrading my computer Windows Vista to Windows 7 (64-bit), my ejection and bass/treble buttons do not work. My volume buttons / mute work however, after I installed HP MediaSmart SmartMenu (sp45140.exe).

In any case, I tried to install HP Tone Control Utility (sp45617.exe) to do the work of bass/treble, but it really does work and it shows an OSD messed up when I use it, illustrated in the screenshot below:

Wow, I never knew there was so much messages in my topic! Thank you whiteboyshady and HaggisCat for the display of solutions!

I used the solution of whiteboyshady to make the bass and treble function:

  • Fingerprint reader HP HDX16 and two other drivers not detected after an upgrade to Vista Ultimate.

    Hello.

Recently, I upgraded my HP Windows Vista Home Edition of Windows Vista Ultimate Edition HDX16 model (quite a 'new installation' upgrade.) Since then I've been doing a handful of drivers went unnoticed in the Device Manager. Keep in mind that the unpacking, all devices in the computer worked as it should.

I downloaded all the drivers on the site of HP drivers, and these drivers are not detected. This led me to the relization that I might have to do a destructive reinstall of my OS, back to Vista Home edition. This would make Vista Ultimate completely a waste. Very restless indeed. I contacted a representitve HP, and he identified my problem: drivers preinstalled on the computer are adapted to the Windows Vista Home delivered pre-installed on my computer. However, he could not help me solve the problem.

As a last resort, I tried a program called Driver Genius for backing up the computer a friend (who purched the same exact model, with Vista Ultimate pre installed,) drivers. This corrected a lot of the unknown devices, but I'm still left with three unknowns. I'm quite positive that one is the fingerprint reader. He refuses to be detected on start-up, and what is installing digital persona personal.

Here is the run down on the three unknowns:

    1.

    Manufacturer: unknown

Location: On bridge PCI standard ISA

    2.

    Manufacturer: unknown

Location: On the Microsoft ACPI-complaints system

    3.

    Manufacturer: unknown

    Location: Port_ #0001.Hub_ #0005

    I tried to install DigitalPersona.

I tried to reinstall Digital Persona.

I tried to repair Digital Persona.

I tried to perform a clean installation of Digital Persona (uninstall, reboot, reinstall).

I tried to reinstall Windows Vista Ultimate.

I tried to get the drivers from the same model of computer (with pre-ultimate isntalled.)

Identifying them all help to detect / detection / providing information about where to install the drivers would be a great help.

Thanks in advance if you think you can save me from downgrading back to home.

  • BluRay will not play on HP HDX16

    I use a HP HDX16 1180EZ with Windows 7 64 bit.

I can't play Bluray discs. I tried with MediaSmart (who continues to ask me an update), Windows Media Player (which does not read anything on the disc, except the title of the disc) and with Cyberlink PowerDVD 12 (which sees only the title of the disc).

  • HDX16-1040us | Memory upgrade options

I just bought a laptop HDX16-1040us and now I would like to upgrade memory.

In the tech specs it is said that they used 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM SO DIMM 200 pin. Can I use the modules of DDR3 SDRAM memory also? However, I see that I have an INTEL PM45 Chipset and the Chipset DDR2 and DDR3 support.

The chipset can, but the locations of memory are clavetés only to accept a type of memory.

  • HDX16-1370us power problem

I have a 1370 HDX16 that will not feed. The power cord is loose, when it is plugged into the laptop. He kept plugging and unplugging on its own, so I shut down the computer from the start menu. I unplugged the power cord and reinstalled it, and now the computer doesn't turn on. The blue light next to the power supply lights up when it is plugged in, but nothing else. The battery has been charged before that happened so I tried with just the battery, the battery and the power cord and with just the power cord. Always do not climb in plan. I also tried a hard reset with no luck. If anyone has any input or ideas, I would be very happy.

I know this thread is old. Anyway, I replaced motherboard and that was the problem.

  • Upgrading memory to HDX16

I have a laptop of HP HDX16 (NK133AV) with 2 GB of memory. I would ask you please how can I upgrade the MEMORY to the maximum (I undertand is 8 GB of memory). I had trouble using the tool of memory in parts. He keeps bringing me to a page with NO information saying that "page does not exist". I bought and upgraded memory on my latest models of laptops and do not understand why this is a difficult subject.

    Please notify:

    (1) where, on HP, I resource appropriate part number

    (2) do I have equal GB in two slots for optimal performance?

    (3) how much should I expect to pay for this upgrade?

    (4) can I use my existing 2 GB module and add a 6 GB or what I need to buy 2 NEW modules to 4 GB (which sucks)...

I really don't understand HP sometimes. I am a customer who wishes TO BUY a PART, and yet they make it so difficult to reseach/purchase! Thanks for your help.

Not sure that HP sells even 4 gig modules. If you want to go to 8 GB, you need to buy 2 new 4 gig modules (no such thing as a 6 gig module). You need 5300 DDR2 or DDR2 667 mhz (same thing) or DDR2-6400 modules DDR2 800 mhz (same thing) that are readily available. I recommend crucial.com.The cost will be almost $400US. make absolutely sure that you really need for 8 GB and 4 GB will not do for you. It is not very likely, unless you make a large volume of Photoshop or video editing work. 8 GB is $ 400; 4 gigs would be less than $100. For me, 4 gigs is the sweet spot.

    Crucial page

If HP has sold kits of 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) I guess it would be at least $500 for the same thing you could buy for $400 from crucial.com. Crucial memory will not affect the HP warranty and is guaranteed compatible and is guaranteed for life. Can not go wrong.

  • HDX16-1040us | Upgrade hard drive options

I just bought my HP HDX16-1040us and now I'm wondering what kind of upgrade options are available on hardrives. Here are the questions: - is it possible to use 2 hard drives in my notebook (second slot available?) - I could replace the standard hard drive with a faster? (I'm confused about the specification tecniques. The specifications of the laptop says the following "320 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 RPM". If I take a glance for hard drives faster they talk about SATA II or Serial ATA-300. Can I use a hard disk SATA II or Serial ATA-300?)

SATA-3 is a new thing. I don't know there is still portable SATA-3. In any case, Yes. All (laptop form factor) 2.5 "SATA-I or SATA-II disk will work. They are all physically interchangeable.
