  I bought my mac (OS X 10.6.8) and my printer 1536 dnf mfp in March 2011. Two well worked until last week, when my scanner stopped scanning. Printer, copier and fax machine still work. The HP software appears to be scan when I press "scan" in that the progress bar is enabled and it appears to 'think' he scanned something, but the images never appear on my screen as scanned. Yes, I can get it to duplex printing - but not for copies and analysis.  I have an older HP printer where I can accomplish this without problem.   I have a HP LaserJet 1536 dnf MFP and have problems with the scanner of the automatic feeding system.   I understand that you encounter problems installing the printer software. I would really like to be able to help solve this problem.

  Turn on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation. The USB cable should not be more then 6 feet.

  I have provided a few steps to try, to see if we can get the printer completely installed on the Windows 7 computer.

  Unplug the USB cable.

  Uninstall the software from the CD: press the Windows key and the E key to access the window from the computer. Make a left click Open in a new window, right click on the printer CD, double click on uninstall.

  Perform a clean boot on the computer and disable the Antivirus software. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

  Rerun the installation, just after connecting the USB cable, (make sure that the USB cable is connected directly to the computer and not a host or hub station) immediately follow this document.  A fatal error during Installation of the software. After that, the installation should continue.

  Yes, this printer supports Windows XP.

  I have provided a document to check your system to make sure if meets the system requirements.

  Windows XP: "your system does not meet the minimum requirements of the system" Message appears on the computer when you install the HP software.

  Check your version. Netframeworks. How to check what Version of Microsoft .NET Framework is installed in the Windows?

  Run the Windows updates to obtain the most up to date installed.

  What version of IE are you using?

  IE is integrated into Windows and is owned by Windows updates.

  I suspect that you need IE 9 or 10 to install the printer software. I have seen many problems with IE 11.
  I believe that this is because software piggy HP support of Internet Explorer.

  Which version of Adobe Reader do you use?

• HP LJ 1536 dnf MFP: 1536 Fax installation issues

  I'm on a land line telephone CentruyLink. The line comes out of the wall in the 1536 and comes out on a phone. Is there another phone connected to this line in my house.

  The FAX is set to automatic and two rings. Using the test HP Fax number, the phone rings, I answer, I get the FAX noise, hang up and the FAX is printed.

  BUT when I telephone number using my cell phone, it rings, I pick-up and cell phone noise Telec.

  This use to work properly, but now I'm having trouble. I spoil the putting in place or is there something wrong with the Fax/printer? Or maybe Qwest did something for the line.

  Thanks for getting back to me on this subject.

  When you use a phone line shared with your fax, phone and answering machine you would have normally established for the answering machine takes first.  You want the fax machine must be set to answer 2 rings after the answering machine. With this configuration, you would be able to receive faxes, answer messages and telephone calls on a phone line. When you will be sent a fax that is generally a good rule to have the person who sends the fax call you in advance to give you just a heads-up that the fax will be sent to you. In this way, when the fax is sent you just listen to the answering machine pick it up after 5 or 6 rings. Fax answering tuned and if fax tones are detected the fax answer. If you're not home you will still be able to receive faxes and answering machine messages.

  If you prefer this Setup, please follow the steps below to configure you fax.

  Step 1: Set the answer Mode:

  1. Click on the button Setup (key) on your printer
  2. Right arrow to Fax Setup and select OK
  3. Select OK in the basic configuration
  4. Right arrow for Answer Mode and select OK
  5. Right arrow for TAM and select OK.

  Step 2: Set up the rings before answer:

  1. Click on the button Setup (key) on your printer
  2. Right arrow to Fax Setup and select OK
  3. Select OK in the basic configuration
  4. Right arrow for rings to answer
  5. You will be able to set this to 1 ring to 9 rings. Remember, this must be set to 2 rings higher then your answering machine. If your answering machine picks up suite 5, set the rings to answer on your fax to 7. If your answering machine picks up suite 6, set the rings to answer on your fax to 8. The difference of the 2 ring will allow your printer enough time to 'listen' to the answering machine and raise the fax if fax on the line.

  Please also define Mode of fixed STOP error and fax (V29) at Slow speed in accordance with the instructions in my previous post.

  I just bought the printer [all in one].  I initially put in place by using the CD that came with it and a USB cable.  Then downloaded the update from Apple software, following the instructions, but cannot follow the instructions online.  I can't find the menu on Control Panel wireless.  It is not upward under Network Configuration.

• LaserJet pro 400 mfp wil not install

  I tried setting my new laserjet pro 400 color mfp m475dn, two upward ways described in the installation guide; either via the automatic installation and CD rom. I followed the instructions exactly each 10 times I tried. I even downloaded the software again on the HP site and tried to install that. Each time the same result:

  "Install operation has been too long..." Fatal error etc."after he had reached and hung 99% installed.

  Any ideas guys?

  You have two options:

  1. If you try to install this printer via a USB port, please do a network install and use the driver from hp.com.

  M475 solution print driver full

  2. If you unble to do a network installation, then please look to see if you have a universal print driver installed on your machine. If you do, then you must remove the UPD driver, re-boot and re - install the m475 SW.

Printer features work very well; scan is fine when I knew the front end Samsung SmarThru Office; Control Panel does not recognize the scanner function TFP - it does not appear as a scanner, only a printer. I can't use Windows scan and fax manager.

• LaserJet M1212nf MFP: Scanner not connected correctly?

  My printer can print and in the network, but it cannot scan. There is a HP page called "printers HP - Scanner card WLAN is lost (Windows)" which requires you to verify if its properly connected to the network, and the Green led should be constant, while the orange should be flashing.

  However, on my router, the green light is turned off while the orange flashes, and the orange is constant on my printer and the green flashes.

  Unfortunately, the page doesn't tell you what to do if this is indeed the issue. Any help?

  I wanted to reach out and to respond to your post on the sweeping problems you are having with your LaserJet M1212nf. You posted the correct to follow troubleshooting guide. Please try each step in order and get back to me with errors or problems you might encounter (fingers crossed there are no problem)!

  Note: make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall jack, avoiding bars and surge arresters.

  Try analysis around (s) work too, this document lists. I'm curious about the results!

  I recently bought a laser jet 1536 dnf for my office.  When I try to install the machine with the driver supplied and downloaded on the website of hp, I can 99 percent, a long wait, and an error message.  I managed to install the machine by using the generic driver of hp Windows 7, but the scan does not work.  Can anyone help?  I found another person with this problem, but it doesn't have a solution either.  Thank you.

  For me, the problem was related to HP Universal print driver installed on the system. (WinXP x 86)

  1 remove the HP Universal print drivers, reboot and run the installation. (not the option I used because I need Uni of HP driver for other printers on the network)

  or

  2. during the installation process when the system detects and installs the printer I noticed that he installed the HP Universal driver.

  At this point, I left 1536dnf install process

  Open Device Manager

  clicked on display and display devices

  printers expanded

  Right click on the HP Universal driver

  clicked on put updated driver

  Install the printer from the list

  Click on don't search, I will choose driver
