HP laptop - 15-f162dx: card MOTHER UPGADE

I want to improve my laptop HP 15-f162DX the biggest CPU is there so I replace motherboard out there that will fit this laptop so that I can to get my CPU I3 I5 or I7 CPU or if it is posible can I just pop in a new I5 or I7 CPU into the motherboard I already have.

Hey @NiteLife,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked into your problem on your laptop HP 15-f162dx and interest to replace the CPU. It shows me that all is integrated to the motherboard. Therefore, only to be changed if you have deleted and change the motherboard.  Sometimes, the replacement part is more than the original laptop. It doesn't show me in your manual specifications something that is compatible.

Upgrading the Ram would be something that can help with the speed. Here is a link to your manual page 30 for reference numbers.

Thank you.

Hey I was also hoping to find a way to install this new motherboard which had the part No. 794984-501, but is anyway to install the graphics card on my current laptop motherboard to the new, which is a Nvidia GTX 850 M?

Without decommissioning, passing a discreet graphics card, you mother UMA (Intel integrated graphics only). The video chip is not removable/portable it is welded directly into the circuit of the motherboard. In your case, the processor is also welded directly into the motherboard. You are also downgrading to a 5th gen intel processor to a 4th gen well he is a faster processor, so you get a faster processor, but inferior graphics.

I have a HP Envy 23 d027c All In One with the card mother Lavaca3-SB (pegatron) IPISB-NK.  It has a PCI slot available for upgrade of the video.  I want to do this.  I intend to use the pc for video processing and maybe a few games.

    How to pass the video?

What cards are best for this system?

What has changed in the BIOS or other settings I should do?  How can I get them?

    Thank you

The PCIe MXM slot is for HP install graphics cards in some models CTO (configure-to-order). Without the card installed when you purchased the computer, there the fan and radiator bad sets. You will need to buy a graphics card and the heatsink / fan of HP to try to upgrade the GPU in your computer. There is an extensive disassembly involved in this procedure. All-in-One computers have much more in common with laptops than they do with traditional desktop computers.

Honestly, if you want to do video processing and games... you should get a traditional desktop with enough CPU and GPU for these activities.

  • the upgrade card mother DM3-Pavilion

    Hello

My 4 year Pavilion dm3, recently died on me. It's a little elegant machine, I wanted to wear around and who was always OK for occasional daily tasks. For these reasons and others, I would at least try to replace the defective motherboard and revive.

The model I bought is a dm3-1003tx exotic model (bought in Thailand, especially with a keyboard QWERTY/thai), with Intel SU7300 and discrete nVidia GeForce G 105 M graphics chip.

Given that the original motherboard is not easy to find (PN 584079-001, only a couple of bids on ebay of the Japan), can someone tell me:

-If it's OK to replace it with an another based SU7300 of motherboard (can be with or without the nvidia chip - I really don't need it).

-or even better upgrade to a motherboard of SP9300 based to get a performance gain? If so, should I expect any change (it looks that the consumption of energy and the frequency of the buses are higher with the SP9300 then maybe RAM...?)

Is there any tool available around compatible HP part numbers?

    Thank you

No, there is not a matrix of cross, useful reference because it would be. I think that HP is simply too many different models and parts for someone to keep track of it all. HP Service is inspired by replacement with the same part number so their internal service people wouldn't even have much use for such a thing, just us end users.

Motherboards have the processor soldered to the and there is only a single part number for the fan/radiator Intel stated so I would say that if you replace your motherboard with it:

    580663 001

with the SP9300, you'll be able to reuse your fan/radiator. In the case where you don't have it here is the repair:

    Manual

All models use the DDR2-800 memory and accept up to 8 GB. Different motherboards all seem to have the same ports and such and will have the same anchor points. You could even theoretically install a card mother AMD-based, but this would require to reinstall an operating system, and I wouldn't trade an Intel processor for an AMD processor in any case unless AMD have been much cheaper. A Committee from AMD would also require a different radiator, however.

You can buy the SP9300 motherboard for $45 shipped on eBay:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/580663-001-HP-Compaq-motherboard-Pavilion-dm3-Intel-laptop-W-SP9300-CPU-581467-0-/400445142883?PT=motherboards&hash=item5d3c63f763

The same seller also has the SU7300 for a few dollars less:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/584078-001-HP-dm3-1000-laptop-motherboard-w-Intel-SU7300-1-3GHz-CPU-/400600978029?PT=motherboards&hash=item5d45add26d

I bought a little of this seller and it looks like they have a lot of them on the spot so must have dismantled a certain dm3s. Maybe if you call them they can steer you in a way or another based on real practical experience. I confess that I have the opportunity to work on this exact model.

After replacing the card mother a Qosmio G10-120 original Win Xp MCE with the official update (FC43S1 A5A001749010 P000454980 jury), some problems have arisen:

    1. second HARD drive internal no more seen.

    3. no recovery BIOS or EC/KBC.

    Any idea?

I m wondering how you did update the information in the DMI?
As far as I know that the Toshiba authorised service provider is able to update information DMI as the model name, version number, etc. using utilities and special tools.

I googled for the motherboard part number, you have deposited in your original thread, and it seems that this motherboard has been developed the Qosmio F15 series.

Recommend doing this! You can use a tool like Memtest or similar.

  • HP P6 2120t: possible cards for the card mother Pegatron IPISB-CU on a computer of 2120t HP P6

So, I'm looking to upgrade my graphics recently. Over the months, I've been looking around and find out a lot about how work cards graphics, and I need to find one. However, what I don't know much about is the compatibility of graphics cards with card mother Pegatron IPISB-CU. I checked and I'm running on FRIEND 7.19 BIOS update 02/04/2012. It seems that I need to look for graphics cards that can work with "Legacy" BIOS. However, it's not not clear that even if I bought one it would work. I was hoping so to ask HP and the community if there was in fact a strong graphics card that would be 100% some works with my motherboard/BIOS card.

To archive the many discussions of forums, it seems the MSI 750ti ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127783 & cm_re=msi_750-_-14-127-783-_-Product ) is my best bet because it is said to have a switch making it compatible Legacy Boot. However, read the description of the product, I have not found this mentioned in the features. What scares me.

If someone could shed some light on what I'm working with. I would be extremely grateful. I'm ready for the possibility that there is no viable option other than buying a new motherboard and the OS, but if I can get away with upgrading my current system I would be very grateful.

Thanks to all who take the time to read/answer

    Drew

At the company MSI Web page in the master record for this MSI cardunfortunately didn't even State if power 6-pin PCIe connectors are needed. Also, it does not specify that there a dual BIOS or the old BIOS support. I wouldn't consider this one for your motherboard.

You may need to upgrade the PSU as your installed PSU doesn't have 6 - pin PCIe connectors with power cable to power the card video update.

EVGA and Gigabyte are also PCIe x 16 graphics cards with dual BIOS allowing a choice of inheritance or the EFI.

What is 100% certainty in the work with your motherboard, you upgrade a ready to use PC or a system as you put as well as components custom, studied and chosen by yourself.

I suggest you buy your video card with your credit card. If this does not work with your motherboard you can return. Which takes an element of risk fomr away the attempt.
