HP laptop G60: upgrade memory

I have 3 GB of RAM on my computer. The upgrade only that I could find in the type DDR2 memory is just an another 1 GB. When I install the 1 GB additional memory card by replacing my Board of 1 GB with a 2 GB card, the computer starts OK and works OK but when I go to system information when I installed original remember it shows 3 GB but when I go to 4 GB new information appears, the system I have now 4 GB installed but in brackets next to , he says that only 2.91 GB is available for use which is less than when my when ma/3 GB is installed. In the computer store, they told me that the reason might be that my computer is running on a 32-bit x 64 base processor system since I was a pentium dual core CPU T4200 @ 2.00 GHZ/2.00 GHZ and that if I went to the 10 windows 64-bit operating system, it should correct the problem. I have a problem with that and that is if I try to reinstall windows 10 in the new configuration that I lose the opportunity to go back to windows 7 in the future. I need your advice on what to do. Can I install the 64-bit configuration without affecting the operation of my computer and it will give me access to the full 4 GB of RAM I have installed. Right now, I'm back to my 3 GB installation.

Hello

Yes but it is not.

Kind regards.

    Thank you.

I have this manual that is for an AMD processor and not for Intel processor. If you look on page 36, it tells you to remove the 2 screws of the drive Bay optical (I already removed the optical drive). on my laptop, there is not 2 screws, on the contrary, there is another mechanism of locking that I do not know how to disengage. It's what keeps me to open the lower cover. Everything on the diagram is exactly what I have except the 2 screws that does not exist by the optical Bay.

I can take a picture of the optical Bay area and email to you if you are still interested to help me. Thank you much, youssef.

I have a computer laptop g60-635dx. can I upgrade the graphics card on this laptop?

    Hello

Here are the specs of your machine:

    http://bizsupport1.Austin.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?objectID=c02033074 & lang = to & CC = US & TaskID = 101 & prodSeriesId = 4074269 & prodTypeId = 321957

He uses: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500 M, which is soldred to the motherboard so practically you can not change because you have to change the motherboard, to buy the new video card, to change the cooling system... all adding up will cost more than a new machine.

  • HP laptop - 15-r131nx: memory upgrade

    Hello

    My laptop

HP laptop - 15-r131nx (ENERGY STAR)

    a 4 GB of Ram

I searched and google on the Ram upgrade and found that only one video on youtube who see the how to say while HP offer only the PDF manual on how to upgrade your RAM even his average dissamble the whole of your laptop just to get back the memory, you should

    Anyway my qustions is:

    (1) how can I improve my ram?

    (2) what is the maximum capacity of ram I could achieve is (8 GB) or (16 GB)?

    (3) the most important qustion is how much my laptop has locations of memory is 1 or 2?

as I read the Intel version has 2 slots while the AMD version has 1 location is true?

    I have version intel

and can you give my the specific manual for my product computer notebook

They do not write a specific manual for each single model. The manuals cover a variety of styles. Don't know what you are looking for or what information is still missing for you. You have an i5 processor, so you have 2 memory slots. Maximum memory is 16 gigs... 2 x 8 gig memory DDR3L-1600.

    From the Manual:

housing for module customer accessible/upgradable memory 1 or 2 (depending on model) 2 slots: DDR3L - 1600 MHz Dual Channel Support (Core processors)

Supports up to 16 GB of RAM in the following configurations: 16384 MB total system memory ● (8192 × 2)

Replacement memory is on p. 76. You need to remove the motherboard. It is not easy and requires a very detailed membership of the procedure described in the manual. It will compromise security.

  • Upgrade memory for laptop HP500

    Hello

I have a portable HP500, Windows XP Professional 32-bit operating system.

    I have 256 MB DDR2 400 mhz RAM.

I want to improve my RAM memory.

Can I replace that memory with 1 GB of RAM DDR2 800 Mhz?

If not, what alternative do I have to change my RAM memory into something bigger?

    Thank you

    Cloudeppelin.

    Hello:

I run the analysis of Crucial memory tool and see what it reports.

    http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/

With the chipset of your notebook (either the 910 if you have a celeron processor or 915 if you have a Pentium processor, the faster the memory runs is 533 Mhz).

So, if you install a module, PC2-6400 (800 Mhz), 533 MHz is the faster it will run.

The specifications of your laptop condition max memory is 2 x 512 MB.

    http://h18002.www1.HP.com/products/QuickSpecs/12608_div/12608_div.html

I think that's wrong. You can probably run 2 x 1 GB memory in your model, but the Crucial scanner will let you know this info.

    Hello

    The laptop supports DDR2 800 MHz SO-DIMM or PC2-5300 (DDR2 667 Mhz) modules.
These modules are provided by different companies.
There are good quality modules and less quality modules

Of course, you can choose and buy the cheapest, but in this case, you use the risk of compatibility problems.

I made good experiences with RAM from Kingston. These are of good quality and not too expensive modules

  • Question about upgrading memory Satellite M55-S1001

can you please recommend what to do? I want to make my satellite m55-s1001 run faster please let me know, what do you recommend: 512 MB or 1 GB of memory? I'm not familiar with updates so please help!

    Hello

First of all, if you want to go for fastest laptop, you should start with simple things.
Try to defragment the disk, turn off the background process is not necessary, etc.
Upgrade memory will the powerful laptop and of course a lot more quickly.

To my knowledge the Satellite M55 should support the bars of memory 2 x 1024MB, and I also recommend the use of 1024MB instead of 512 MB module.

  • Pavilion 15-ab150sa: HP - Pavilion 15-ab150sa 15.6 "laptop RAM UPGRADE QUESTION

It is said in the task manager that one slot free, I was just wondering if I could upgrade the laptop to 16 GB. Laptops have already been 1x8gb.

Can my all new laptop handle it?

Thank you very much, and best wishes,

    Mr. Hayle.

Unfortunately, HP has not posted a manual for your specific model. The Star Wars thing is the series of 15 t-ab100 and the same physical case and the layout, just Intel AMD not. There is a forum for active discussion on the model of Star Wars and we know by experience of the user, it can be upgraded to 16 gigs and it also comes with a single module of 8 GB and an open slot.

I think this might be your manual, even if it is found under the designation 15z-ab000, A8-7410 processor and the plug and the configuration described in the manual seem to be the same as yours:

    Manual

    It is said expressly:

Supports up to 16 GB of RAM in the following configurations.

I do not work for HP. I am a user final colleague who has some knowledge based on fact that for a few years. I never came across a computer that will a 8 GB module and has a slot for memory that will not accept a second module of 8 GB for a total of 16 concerts. If you buy the 8 GB module and it doesn't work I'll buy it from you for a reasonable current retail value. Just PM me.

Note that this upgrade memory isn't a thing authorized for mutual assistance. The warranty may or may not remain intact.

Also be aware that the upgrade from 8 GB to 16 GB does not alter the performance of the machine much, if at all for the majority of computer users and could well be a waste of money. But if you do heavy photo or video production work, drop the pieces of music or compile large batches of the Code you can use 16 gigs successfully. Same game didn't really need more than 8 GB, however.

    Hi Ben

Maybe you used the memory modules bad.
As far as I know that you can upgrade memory for max 192 MB
The 64 MB has been installed in an internal memory and cannot be deleted.

    I found these compatible modules:

    Hi mate.

As far as I know your laptop supports two memory locations.
They must be placed at the bottom of the unit.
If you n t know how to change this then I recommend consulted the user manual!
The manual can be downloaded from the Toshiba European page.
I think that the laptop can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM. So, you can use 1 GB of RAM in one slot.

PS: you must use the RAM DDR2 PC2-4200 memory - 200pin modules

    Hello together!

    For your information:

Upgrade memory today to 2 Toshiba Satellite Pro 2100 (1.9 GH, 256 MB DDR - RAM initially), both up to 1 GB, all fine and no problems.

Wanted to just end rumors "only 512 MB all together" or even less.

If you are looking for, don't forget to think of the specifications:

    DDR-266 (PC2100)
    DDR-SDRAM, SO-DIMM
    200 PINS
    2.5 CL

concerning the frequency of the RAM, building shape etc.

    Greetings

    L0nestar

P.S.: Don't think that a debate is necessary, thread could be closed...

According to the specifications of the computer laptop Satellite Pro has two memory slots and can be upgraded up to 1 GB. It is very useful to have confirmation on the RAM upgrade for this model of laptop old but still good.
