HP laptop: product key and check if it works for 10

Hello:

I have an AAOEM product in the end key... do you think it is the letter O or the number 0?

Is there any place that you can check your number, before upgrade to 10 - to make sure that it works?  You need to update your product key and the last time with as I check my, it seems not to work (with another).

Hoping to upgrade, but I don't want to get stuck with a PK that does not work.

Thank you

If you do the upgrade inplace 8.1 to 10 that he will not call for a key Code.

I have windows 2007 edition vista Home premium and I neglected to enter my product key every time I opened a word document. I discovered that after 25 hours of opening ms Office it will not let type you anything on the document. I entered the 25-digit product key, that she had asked because I found on the label on the back of my lap top and every time I entered the code, he said that it was not valid. I double checked to make sure that I typed the numbers in the right order several times and it still does not accept it! I'm in the product key? I also tried the product ID and that no longer works. You enter the incorrect product key. The product key on the back of your laptop is for the Vista operating system, no office. The office, which is preinstalled on your computer has a trial version. You can buy Office in order to continue using it. Then, you will get the Office product key.

  • HP 14-r206nv: Windows activation rejects laptop product key after replacing hard drive

Today, that she came to me with a new hard drive but with no OS installed, so I tried to install it on my own as I am a student in computer engineering.

    I know that in windows preinstalled computers laptops like mine is the product key is stored in the bios I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 64bits (non-professional because I know that you need to install the exact same version). But the problem is that now, windows can not be activated. Activation in internet reports"Error Code: 0xC004C003.     Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on activation problems and wanted to help.

Sorry, but that's just one buy volunteers self-help personal forum and we cannot do anything about the problem of activation of here.

As I see it, you have two options (1) of the store and the Support of HP (2).

About the store, they SHOULD have returned the laptop you fully functional.  So if it was MY PC, I would go assault store and REQUEST that they we're right.  You've taken or sent to them to be fixed, not to give cost you a virgin machine!

Regarding technical Support HP, as this PC is still under warranty, you should contact HP Customer Support directly so they put you in contact with HP Tech Support to see what they can do on the diagnosis and repair of your machine remotely.

I did recently, and HP technology was able to remotely access my PC on the Internet and to make the necessary repairs.

  • I need to reinstall Windows Vista but the sticker on the laptop product key is not readable.

My partner has an Acer laptop running Windows Vista Basic 32-bit. He needs a complete reinstallation of Windows because there a lot of problems now. The problem is the sticker of the product key on the laptop is often illegible. I tried to use the Magic Jelly Bean finder key to resolve this issue, but the key does not match what the letters which are readable on the sticker. I tried this on my own laptop and had the same problem (sticker key did not key on the computer). Neither laptops have had Windows reinstalled before. I learned that the keys posted by Magic Jelly Bean are in fact license keys of Volume factory installed by the OEM rather than found on the stickers product keys and Volume license keys cannot be used to reinstall Windows.

His cell phone doesn't have a recovery disk or a recovery partition, but even if she did, given its current state, a complete reinstallation is what it takes. Her cell phone is not come with a Windows Installation DVD, either, but we can borrow one from a friend who owns a disk with the same version of Windows as his laptop and I know that works perfectly. We just need a way to recover the product key that was on the sticker. We are not ready to buy a new copy of Windows that we already have a license (through the purchase of the laptop) key.

PS I remember that I helped my father after reinstall Windows XP. We tried both the key on the sticker of his PC and the one that we found on the PC itself (Volume key). In the end, only the key on the sticker has worked. This confirms that a Volume license key cannot be used to reinstall Windows.

    Hello

We cannot help you with your product key and there are no records of loan use

recovery discs are brand and the specific model

and product key finder programs will not help you find product keys that you can use vista preinstalled in these circumstances

to reinstall vista use either disk or recovery partition recovery manufacturer, since they do not normally require an input key product on your part

The manufacturer must provide a way to reinstal vista or by disk or a recovery Partition

    Contact Acer recovery Vista disc

    https://secure.TX.Acer.com/rcdb/main.aspx?brand=Acer

and Acer has a "hidden" recovery partition

Normally with an Acer, you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the process, or if it is still ongoing, you go to section eRecovery under [programs and search for how to make recovery discs and the use of the recovery partition

  • Difference between Windows 7 Product Key and product I.D.

Bought the new laptop HP with Win7 Home Premium installed. During the initial install verified box to authenticate when online. Never entered my product key and now two weeks later, curious to know if my windows has been authenticated. Went to the computer/properties/system to enter my key and Windows Activation:

    Windows is activated
    XX xxx xxxxx-oem-xxxxxxx product I.D.

Product number I.D. is different from my tag Windows key on my pc.

My question is if my Win7 has been authenticated or what I need to do something else to avoid problems after 30 days. Thanks to advnce.

Nothing to worry about.  Major computer manufacturers install an image of Windows 7 using a special product key which is linked to the BIOS of the motherboard. The certificate of authenticity (COA) affixed to your computer is there to attest that the Windows 7 operating system is installed. Carey Frisch

  • Computer laptop product key is missing

    Original title: license problem

I have a laptop that have real BONES. But my laptop product key is absent today. Let me know the procedure for activation.

Have you looked for a COA sticker on the underside of the box inside the battery compartment or the computer?

Select Start, right-click computer, click Properties, select change product key (under Windows Activation) and enter the product key of 25 characters (from the COA sticker). Click Next to activate via the internet. Restart your computer.

If there is still a problem, I suggest that you run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage diagnostic tool in normal mode and copy and paste the results into a response for further analysis:

    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52012

Run the tool and when it ends, click the copy button, open a text such as Word or Notepad file and select Edit, paste. You can paste directly into an answer here. Open a response, right click and select Paste.

What is the difference between a product key and a License Code?

    Debbie

These terms are almost universally used to mean the same thing.  Just different terminology.  Your Windows product key is the proof that you have a valid license to use the software contract (you don't "own" Windows, you rent just the license to use it)

You must acquire the recovery discs right from the manufacturer - if you're lucky, your office don't reinstall it properly and leave you with the recovery partition that would do the same job.

Read your manual, on the recovery of the system and try the options there.

If they do not work, you will need to contact it manufacturer and order a set of htem recovery disks.

  • My errased sticker product key and I can't read all the text to reactivate my windows visa. What should I do now?

My errased sticker product key and I can't read all the text to reactivate my windows visa. What should I do now?

    Hello

You mean the sticker on the case of the Vista operating system pre-installed from Dell, HP, Acer, Toshiba, etc.) ?

If you do, you can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

The methods above resettlement generally do not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

    See you soon.

    Hi BrookeLynn,

Thanks for posting. If your PC is an OEM which means that Dell, HP, IBM or another company, you will need to contact them to get a replacement disk or key you may need.
