HP Laserjet 1022n, 1022nw printers shared cannot print

Hello.

We have a number of these printers shared on a Windows Server 2003 server for Windows XP clients.

We use Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 on certain print servers and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 on the other.

Some of them work, but some refuse to work. You will get the first page to print, and then print queue will be for more claim to be printing, when it is not. Restarting the spooler service will reset things. I can't what is different between those who work and those who are not, well on the same network, it seems that no 1022 will work at all. I've tried three different Windows 2003 servers, and they all fail.

Printer drivers that I use are the last leave the HP website, and I have firmware updated printers also.

I use a Standard HP TCP/IP port.

I found that they seem to print correctly if shared on a Windows 2000 Server, but it doesn't really help me.

Can anyone suggest anything please? We have been obliged to the coil of a number of them out of Windows 2000, but this should be temporary.

Thank you very much

Paul.

Hi Rick.

I spent some time on this investigation via google but also experiment with the drivers, and it seems that if you be wrapped this printer from a Windows 2003 server and that you have the latest MS patches, then you can print only if you have administrative privileges on the server. It does not matter at the end of the workstation. However, it seems that some of our printers are not affected, and I can't believe that users who continue to print well have administrative privileges on the server.

Anyway, there is a simple solution to this - use the Laserjet III of the original distribution of XP driver. This driver appears to print very well to the 1022.

However, it would be nice if HP has acknowledged the problem somewhere and eventually created new drivers. I see no evidence of this on the internet.

Hope that this workaround works for you.

  • "Laserjet 1022n Windows Update", causing problems printing: print jobs do not print

    Hello

A few days ago I installed upgrading Windows Laserjet 1022n on my Windows 7 64 bit and since then I can not print a page normally: the page does not print. I use a TCP/IP network port.

I made several attempts to resolve this problem:

-uninstall the printer driver and install it again (I tried the latest version on the HP site and an older one that worked perfectly before)

-update the firmware of the printer to the latest version on the HP site.

When I put the printer in pause and start the print job, you can see in the list. Resumption of the printer, printing starts on the printer but you see that the job remains in the list, flashes again and again. The printer keeps printing the same page.

I don't know what I can do to solve this problem. There is no way to uninstall the update of the HP Laserjet 1022n software because it does not appear in the list of installed programs (course list is also op updates from windows updates).

I have same problem printing to the same printer from another PC Windows 7 (with the same windows update done)

But I have no problem printing with my laptop on an other network printers.

Is there someone who has the same problem and how to solve?

    Thank you for answer

I found the solution on this site: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/59912-29-1022n-printer-stop-printing

Just uncheck the chekbox "enable two-way communication" on the "Ports" tab of the properties of the printer and it works normally again!

  • HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125-M126: cannot set the default printer

    Hello

We have HP LaserJet Pro M125 - M126 PCLmS network MFP all in one printer, as the installation of all users was a success and was working fine the day of installation, after a day all users face the question cannot set default pritner, cannot print, all users are faced with question at a time ,

    quick response is appreciated,

    Hi @darshan9 ,

I see that you have problems affecting the default printer for users and you cannot print over the network.
    I'd love to help you.

Do you mean the configuration of individual computers with the printer on the network users, or a computer with multiple users?

You have administrative rights on the computer to make changes?

What is the name and the product number of your printer? How can I find my model number or product number?

Download and run the Print and Scan doctor. It will diagnose the problem and could solve it automatically. http://www.hp.com/go/tools > using HP diagnostic tools for printers under Windows HP.

I suggest you to check if you have another account user or an administrative account.

I also suggest to create a new user account and check if you are able to set the default printer.

Create a user account. Create a user account.

If you're still having problems, run the Fixit tool. Diagnose and automatically fix problems printing and printer.

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (she print or scan, error messages)

If there is anything else I can help you, let me know.

    Good day!
    Thank you.

  • HP Laserjet 4 MP: HP Laserjet 4 MP - just switched to Windows 10 - cannot print

Hi - I used my Laserjet without any problems on Windows 7 but cannot print now that I went to 10 Windows.   The Laserjet 4 MP is listed on the page of the driver for Windows 10 HP, but the directions for upgrading the driver doesn't seem to work or there is something that I'm not enter.

In "Devices and printers", my printer shows already that it is selected with the green check mark.  When I go to "Add a printer", it does not find the printer, even when you use the option 'my printer's oldest  So I went the next step, try using the IP address. Print my printer Config pages to try to find the ip address/port, but nothing seems to match them.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I went through all the steps of the Windows Update, found on pilots of widows 10 for Laserjet page mentioned above, but this time, instead of choosing the LPT 1 port, I chose the USB virtual port (I remembered reading on that port for an alternative online), and it worked!  (LPT 1 was probably active before a few years ago, I bought a USB connector for the cable to the printer)

  • Cannot print from Internet Explorer 11 using HP LaserJet 200 color on Windows 7

Who would be able to help me?

When I want to print using Internet Explorer 11 on a Windows 7 PC, I can select Preview before printing, but when I actually want to print, it gives the error:

"There was an internal error and Internet Explorer is unable to print this document."

This error only occurs when the 200 HP LaserJet color is selected.

I am able to print on our other HP printers, like the HP Color LaserJet CM4540 multifunction printers.

I am also able to print on a printer using Chrome.

If the problem seems to be related to Internet Explorer 11 in combination with 200 HP LaserJet color.

I tried the 'standard' measures to resolve the issue, such as:

    1. disable Internet Explorer Protected Mode

    2. the value Internet Explorer default browser

3 re-create the missing bass folder and define the level of integrity

    4. start Internet Explorer as an administrator

This does not resolve the issue.

    Please notify. Thanks in advance.

It is a problem with IE 11 on Windows 7 systems with no fix yet against MS.

Whenever I try to print, I get an error message that the spooler sirvice does not work. I use the troubleshooting to fix the spooler, but he won't stay fixed. My print screen won't let me choose the printer, it's a LaserJet 1022n.

Can you please try the following:

    (1) Press Win + r (run the window will open)

    (2) type "services.msc" and press ENTER.

    (3) in the window that opens, locate the "Print spooler" service

    (4) make a right click on the "Print spooler" service and select 'Start Service'.

If the spooler service was stopped, then this should help solve the problem.

Have you tried to uncheck the option "Enable bidirectional support" in the port real estate 1022N tab.

I understand that you cannot print the PDF files from the upgrade to Maverick.

I'll be happy to help you with this.

I check and repair the authorization to drive on the Mac.
Go on the hard drive of the Mac, applications, utilities, disk utility, click Mac hardrive left side, click on verify disk permissions, when it is finished click on repair disk permissions.
(when it's over will show disk repair completed)

Run the Apple updates also. (the Mac uses probably drivers 10.8)

    Make sure Acrobat is up-to-date.

    Hi @phlump,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to print from Internet Explorer 11 to your HP LaserJet 1022n printer. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand that you are able to print from other applications. While this question would be better suited for Microsoft, I can make some suggestions. If these solutions do not help, please contact Microsoft.

Reset Internet Explorer settings (backup your Favorites):

You can reset the Internet Explorer settings to return to the State they were when Internet Explorer has been installed on your PC. This can be useful to solve the problems that could be caused by some settings changed after installation. Reset Internet Explorer is not reversible, and all the previous settings are lost after reset.

  • Domain network cannot activate file sharing and print?

    Hi all

I get an error message when you try to share a folder "an error has occurred. trying to share folderxxx Incorrect function ". After research I see that file and printer sharing is not enabled.

I went to control panel | Network and sharing Center. Advanced settings - sharing on the "Discovery of the network" and "File and printer sharing" I select "turn on...» "for one or the other and save changes - but neither is saved! Ebb in advanced sharing settings both return to "Turn off"... "State. (I am local and domain admin).

Windows 7 computer is joined to a domain and the firewall settings are defined mainly through Group Policy, although local settings are allowed (merged).

I would add that I can access the admin shares (c$, d$) on the computer without problem on the network so advanced in this regard firewall settings are ok.

At a loss as to why file and printer sharing will not allow?  Thank you.

I found what was wrong or the problem.

During the process of deployment of our new systems Windows 7 wipe us the rules of default outgoing firewall who do seem to not be a problem because outbound connections have been set by default to "allow". But we have learned that only when outbound rules for file sharing and printer available (enabled or not) can share news can be created.

After the creation of the joint ownership, these outbound rules can be removed and sharing still works fine to keep rules to incoming traffic.  I guess this is normal, but it is not quite make sense to me why the outbound rules are explicitly required for files and printers share when you create a share... but that is what has worked for us.

  • Cannot print on shared printer HP 1018

I have a HP LaserJet 1018 printer connected to a desktop running Windows 7 32 bit Home Premium pc.  It is shared to the homegroup.  When I try to print to it from another computer in my home group, also running the same version of Windows 7, the print job appears in the spooler on the computer printing, the printer is connected to, but it does not print.  If I stop the print spooler service restart it, then open the print queue and click on the task, it will suddenly start to print.  It's the only way I can get jobs to print from other computers in the homegroup.  Suggestions?
