HP Laserjet 2605DN - text, borders off center printing

Everything worked fine until I bought a new computer that has Windows 8. Now when I print, text and graphics are biased as well, vertically, horizontally, which makes this practically unusable printer for what I need. I tried to install and reinstall the printer driver - have done twice in the past months, but neither attack resulted in no change to the output.

This is the only printer that I have problems with.

I need to create and print certain documents that must be focused. I hope someone can offer a solution.

Thank you.

I worked with it for a while and even reset the printer to its default settings. But it was always the same text off center and the border when I printed my test document. Last resort, I downloaded and installed the driver PostScript HP Laserjet 2605DN, and who took care of the problem. Although not perfectly centered on the page, it is close.

I wanted to just update this post with the solution that worked for me.

  • LaserJet 2605dn any size but letter print does not correctly

We had our Laserjet 2605dn for a few years and had no problems printing using different paper sizes, using the XP computers.  However, when you print to the printer of 2605 to using a Windows 7 machine, the printer will not print correctly on letter-size paper.

We try to print using a half-sheet letter or size of the statement (5.5 x 8.5).  We tried printing on 3 different machines to Windows 7, using Microsoft Word and also LibreOffice.  We choose the correct size paper into the printer Preferences dialog box and the print preview shows that it will print correctly.  However, when it prints, it is cropped and we get an error message printed on another sheet of paper: error PCL XL WARNING: IllegalMediaSize.

We tried setting the custom paper size as the size of the statement in the dialog box printer, printing from the status bar, and also the manual feed.  We use the latest driver available through Windows Update and the HP Web site.

    Please notify.

I ended up starting completely over.  First I have updated the firmware of the printer even if she showed it was common.  Then I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer on each computer, to have watch online for the driver.  Once it was full, I am able to print correctly on statement and letter-size paper.  Obviously the firmware or drivers have been corrupted or not really updated as indicated.  Thanks for your advice!

  • Color Laserjet pro m252dw: print off center

My printer prints slightly biased (as too far to the right). I did the alignment test and tried to solve the problem by adjusting printing to several mm to the left, but it does not work. I am trying to print labels with graphics that contain a border of circle-because the page is printing off center seem no good labels. I print on sticker paper for labels and have used several different programs label to print from, and all have the same resulf of centred off the coast. Any suggestions? Help would be very appreciated!

    Hey @OldSoulA,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have a problem of quality when printing labels from your computer Windows 8.1 to your HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw. I would like to help you today with this problem of printing the label. Thank you for all the troubleshooting steps you tried before reaching out for support. At this point, I'm going to make sure that the labels that you are printing on conform to the specifications of your HP Laserjet Printer. Once you confirm that the labels you are using are supported, we will miss some tests in order to check if this central issue is caused by the type of paper or a problem of setting. Please follow the steps below.

    Step 1: Check paper:

According to the specifications of your HP Laserjet Printer, the following labels are supported:

    • You can load up to 50 sheets of labels into the tray at 1 time. Do not exceed 50 sheets
    • Avoid mixing media into the tray with paper. Avoid labels on top of plain white paper in your loading tray
    • Avoid using labels that are separated from the backing sheet, wrinkled or damaged in any way
    • Do not use labels that have exposed the carrier sheet
    • Do power not more than once a sheet of labels into the printer
    • Avoid printing on both sides of the labels
    • Avoid printing on sheets which the labels have been removed
    • Make sure that you use the specific Laser as adhesive labels can damage internal components in your machine.

Once you have confirmed that the paper of the label that you are using is meet the specifications of your printer can you please move to the next step.

    Step 2: Print Self Test:

    1. Load of the plain white paper in your paper tray
    2. On the front panel of your printer then drag your finger to the left and select configuration
    3. Under the menu Setup touch Service
    4. Tap the cleaning Page
    5. Print a cleaning Page now. This page should show the colored lines centered

Check the alignment of the present report.

    • The colored lines appear centered?
    • Printing documents from your computer on plain white paper print centered?

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting so far. Once I have the results of your troubleshooting with the answers to my questions above, I'll be more than happy to provide additional assistance for this problem. I look forward to hear from you!

  • Color LaserJet 2605dn printing black and white only

I have a Color Laserjet 2605dn, and all of the color ink cartridges have run dry. However the black cartridge has more than 2,000 pages of ink in the printer and it won't let me prink only black and white. It seems that the color cartridges must also have ink in them so that the printer to print. Does anyone know a work around so that I can print with the black cartridge and not buy color cartridges?

  • HP Color Laserjet 2605dn: Print is washed out/completely wilted on printer 2605dn

We have a Laserjet 2605dn HP color printer has intermittent printing problems. Most of the time, the quality of the printed output is very well, but from time to time, the print quality deteriorates completely. After a while, printing then returned back its normal quality.

The printer is on a network and serves as WIndows XP/7/8/10 and Linux machines as it has throughout his life. He has never had a genuine HP toner cartridges installed. It is not heavily used, we print usually less than 100 pages per week, often less.

The problem is that out of all the colors and black, gets so bad as to be unreadable. The printed output is so washed out it's (almost) impossible to read anything through the entire page. This can happen for all the pages of an entire document, but often it will print the first part of a multipage fine print job and then the quality deteriorates gradually to illegibility. Subsequent print jobs will also sometimes unreadable, but are also likely to print correctly. There seems to be trigger (that we can determine) this behavior or when it will happen well.

While the printer was used for a few years, he printed out a little more than 20 000 pages in total. This leads me to think that age should not be a problem. We replaced all the cartridges, tried recalibration, print cleaning pages, all without success. I found a solution for a problem of fading Magenta also requires cleaning the mirrors, but our problem is not that same as - everything fades to nothing in our printer, it is not a case of a single color fade a little, is much more radical than that.

Suggestions as to how we could solve this problem? Is there additional information that might help diagnose the cause and suggest a fix?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

It looks like I won't get my hands dirty inside this printer after all. The boss decided it would probably be too annoying overall for me (US) to try to fix it. So he decided to buy a new color printer and remove it.

Thanks for the answers to my questions.

Now I just need to find how to mark it as "resolved", or otherwise close it, as appropriate in this forum.

  • Color Laserjet 2605dn: duplex printing with UPD

The universal print driver that runs on Windows 10 (64-bit) does not recognize on my Color Laserjet 2605dn duplex printing function. drivers passed under older versions of Windows enabled this setting on the Advanced tab.

Is there a way to enable or UPD grants only limited functionality and does not support the duplex feature?

    Hello

in devices and printers click on the right button the printer UPD icon and select printer properties.

In the device settings tab, verify that the accessory set duplex as installed and check for the difference.

Please let me know if this can help,

  • MFP HP LaserJet Pro 400 M425dn will not print the text to format 72 points or more

My workplace has recently bought a M425dn of MFP HP LaserJet Pro 400 all-in-one printer. It works perfectly except for the fact that it will not print text that is 72 points or larger in size. I tried many fonts that are installed with Windows, and all them print correctly to the point size 71.5 or smaller; Another thing simply does not appear in prints. Content which is of size to 72 points or more * fact * affect the flow of the content printed on the page, however. It's like the 72 points or larger text takes up space, but it is completely invisible on the printed page.

I tested using Microsoft Word 2002 on three separate computers, of which two have installed Windows 7 and Windows Vista installed. The problem is the same on all three computers. The printer is connected via an ethernet cable to our wired network. I have installed the printer software included, and I don't think that there are updates for it that have not been installed up to this point.

Any thoughts on how to solve this problem?

Hello, I just made an account to solve this problem for you guys because it has been a puzzle to me also...

I apologize before the huge hand for the terrible grammar and punctuation that I'm in a hurry

Now it does not work for everyone but I fixed it on my machine with the following

now before you print it... .use (ctrl + p) in your text editor to open the print window, click (properties), and then navigate to the tab (Advanced) now, I have a section called the characteristics of the printer in this category there is an option to 'send truetype as bitmap' activate this and see if it can help someone of you, for me, with this PERMIT I can print any font size my processor will allow me to type

    in my machine's plug

    Reference Dell d6420

    Win7

    Msoft word 2007

    printer itself is

    HP laserjet 200 color m276

    printer driver is

HP LaserJet 200 color MFP M276 PCL 6

I understand that this printer and driver is not identical to yours in itself, but the nature of these drivers makes it highly likely that this solution works for most of you

If this can help, someone else did post more because I'll probly do not sign in to this site I created this account just for this post and I hope to solve this annoying problem issue for many of you... .no necessary congratulations

  • OfficeJet Pro 8630: hp 8630 printing Off Center when copying

Printer prints well out of the computer, but prints off the coast on one side, when copying without worrying if the paper is flat or powered by the ADF.  Can't see obstructions.  Yet once, print very well when printing emails, downloads etc.  Only off-center by trying to use it as a copier.

    Hello

If it is a copy, it is the printer and not from any software.

Have you tried to do a 'Restore Factory defaults?"

I wonder if that would help, except perhaps appeal for support.

    Thank you.

  • Why is-page page printing off center

    I have a HP Photosmart 7510 on a Windows 7 operating system.

Each unique document print off center without worrying about how I put the margins.

How can I fix this so that documents print evenly and centred on the paper?

Thank you in advance for your prompt response.

    JOPER

    HI joper,.

It has always been this or it just started recently?

    You did it change?

Here a link to your manual covering the margins of adjustment.

It may have something to do with the software on your computer. You can Uninstall

the software and the reinstall again.

Let us know if that helps.

  • Can't understand why documents print off center

Problem: When you print a document on legal paper, each page after the first print off center. Specifically, it moves the upper left corner to the middle of the page and prints what it can on the page without narrowing/resizing. This does not happen on the first page (i.e. the first side of the first physical piece of paper if printed one - or two-sided), but it happens on every page after that.

System: What happens on two different PCs over the WAN even in two different places using two different print servers and four different printers (Xerox 3 and 1 HP). Documents that have this problem come from different sources.

Windows XP and 7 PCs were used

Server 2008 and server 2003 are installed on print servers

Solved my problem here. I managed to solve the problem by choosing "print as image". I don't know in the PDF file causing the printing problem.

  • LaserJet 2100TN off duplex printing

The window dialog printing in OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard for the LaserJet 2100TN shows the option to print double-sided in gray. So far I have not jet found a way to change this and this permit. Pilot is HP LaserJet 2100 Series version 18.4.

If someone has solved this before?

    TNX

    Hello

See double-sided automatic two-sided printing option.

As your device support manual duplex only, he should see the specific option grayed out.

To perform manual duplexing, Joanie you use the Pages to the printer setting, you can find below:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00294482

In addition, another alternative is to use the HP two-sided printing software:
    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL35975/MP-88750-2/HP_Two-sided_Printing.dmg
You can access this tool by clicking the PDF button at the bottom of the print dialog box, and then select double-sided printing and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Kind regards

  • HP LaserJet 2605dn display is empty and allows to print is no longer

I had this printer for several years and has always worked flawlessly, until recently. I met a serious jam and still had 40 + pages in the buffer that could not be re-created easily, so I decided to leave the computer while eliminating the jammed pages (2), and the printer continued and terminated the print job. To reach the pages stuck, I had to remove the upper part of the printer. I don't remember if the display exploded immediately, or not, but there are NO DISPLAY on the printer now.   In addition, shortly after this jam, the printer stopped printing.

I am running Vista. I turned off the printer unplugged, unplugged the USB, restarted the computer, not reconnected everything and still no display or print. I deleted the printer and added, but still not.

A I mess up something when I removed the upper part of the printer?

    Any suggestions? Thank you!

Oh, my! That was so long ago. But, if I remember correctly, when I shot the top of the printer, there was a very small wire with a plastic connector at the end which had pulled the apartment when I removed the upper part. I probably had to use tweezers to reconnect.  Sorry for the hazy details, but it's what is on the floor these days! Good luck.

  • M277dw MFP: scan off center and crooked M277dw MFP

I meet currently a problem with my Control Panel printer scans comes out off - center and crooked.  They scan the desktop app and get out normal.  In addition the copies come out straight and normal.  The scans are deployed from the flat bed scanner.  I tried the document feeder and still only posted the scans I made from the Panel of real control on the printer on my network.

    Thank you
    Philippe

    Hi @Richy1971,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that the scans are biased and crooked with your HP Laserjet M277dw MFP. I am pleased to see that for you!

Please try a hard reset by following the instructions contained in this message, How to perform a hard reset, by @Rich1. It is important that the power cable from the printer is plugged directly into the wall outlet, not a surge protector. Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power. This is true for printers and ink jet.

After the hard reset, check the printer firmware is up-to-date. Get the latest Firmware and updates.

  • HP Color LaserJet 2605dn

I have a HP Color LaserJet 2605dn. It worked very well with the Microsoft Vista operating system. I just bought a computer with operating system Windows 8 home and now my printer won't do the double sided printed (not the manual double-sided, but printing double-sided on its own). Is there a driver out there who can help with this? Your Web site was an option for Windows 8 when looking for drivers.

The default value is the duplexer is set to "not installed".  Go to the devices folder and printers, right click on the 2605, select printer properties, the device settings and set theduplex "installed" unit, apply.
